Today we cannot refrain from following the path we have been shown. The Church in Poland can offer Europe, as it grows in unity, her attachment to the faith, her tradition inspired by religious devotion, the pastoral efforts of her Bishops and priests, and certainly many other values on the basis of which Europe can become a reality endowed not only with high economic standards but also with a profound spiritual life..."

- Pope St. John Paul II, MESSAGE OF JOHN PAUL II TO THE POLISH BISHOPS, Krakow, 10 June 1997

http://w2.vatican.va/content/john-paul-ii/en/speeches/2001/december/documents/hf_jp-ii_spe_20011203_ambassador-poland.html

"...The future of Poland, of the Church and of the world are inseparably and reciprocally linked, interpenetrated and conditioned. The process of social and economic transformation in Poland, which has been underway since 1989, is taking place in the context of positive changes in the world such as the formation of the European Union or the extension of the Atlantic Pact...

The events of ten years ago in Poland created an historic opportunity for the continent of Europe, having abandoned ideological barriers once and for all, to find again the path towards unity. I have spoken of this on a number of occasions, using the metaphor of the “two lungs”, with which Europe should breathe, bringing together the traditions of East and West. Instead of the expected joining of spirits, we are seeing new divisions and new conflicts. Such a situation implies for politicians, as also for people of learning and culture, and for all Christians, an urgent need for new initiatives which might serve the integration of Europe.

Making her pilgrim way down the paths of time, the Church has bound her mission to our continent more closely than to any other. The spiritual profile of Europe was formed thanks to the efforts of the great missionaries and the witness of the martyrs. It was shaped in the churches raised with great sacrifice, in the centres of contemplative life and in the humanist teaching of the universities. Called to care for the spiritual growth of man as a social being, the Church brought to European culture a unique set of values...How impoverished European culture would have been without its Christian inspiration!

If we wish Europe’s new unity to last, we must build on the basis of the spiritual values which were once its foundation, keeping in mind the wealth and diversity of the cultures and traditions of individual nations. This must be the great European Community of the Spirit. Here too I renew my appeal to the Old Continent: “Europe, open the doors to Christ!”

7. On the occasion of today’s meeting, I wish once more to express my appreciation of the consistent and united efforts which, from the time that sovereignty was regained, seek to find and consolidate a secure and rightful place for Poland in the Europe that is coming together in unity, and in the world.

Poland is fully entitled to take part in the world’s general process of development and progress, and especially in that of Europe. Like St. Bonaventure, ...A final point of interest.

Like St. Bonaventure, Venerable Bartholomew Holzhauser also relates this era of peace prior to Antichrist to the "shout of the angel of the seven thunders" in Revelation Chapter 10.

He writes in his Commentary on the Apocalypse:

"...So it is said in the Tenth Chapter of Revelation v1-7....

This is the lofty description of that mighty monarch sent by God. He is described as a 'mighty angel', for none can resist him, the envoy of God. He will 'come down from heaven'; that is to say, he will be born in the bosom of the Catholic Church. The 'cloud' with which he is clothed signifies humility, with which, from youth upward and without any great parade, he walks in the simplicity of his heart. The protection of God is thereby indicated, that, on account of his humility, will encompass him.

The 'rainbow about his head' denotes that he will bring peace to the whole earth. The 'solar lustre' of his brow signifies the splendour of his glory, his honour, his holiness, his talents: so that all princes will follow his example. The 'fiery pillars' at his feet symbolize the vast extent of his power, and the fire of his religious zeal. 'Open Book' means that he will rule with justice...

The spread of the Church over all countries will take place by the instrumentality of this strong monarch, and before the destruction of the world, Christianity will be preached to all nations of the earth; as this is foretold in Matthew and Isaiah and in Micah. To this wide diffusion of Christianity allusion is made when John is obliged to measure the Temple of God (Revelation 11.v.1).

And John saw one sitting upon a cloud, with a golden crown upon his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand. This is the second vision respecting the mighty monarch; the crown is that of the [restored] holy Roman Empire; the sickle in his hand, his unconquerable army...

And another angel came out of the Temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat upon the cloud, 'Thrust in thy sickle, and reap, because the hour is come to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe (Revelation 16.15). 7

This second angel of the Lord is that great and holy Pope, who, moved by God, will cry out the sanctuary of the church to that mighty monarch, to root out the tares of wickedness; for the harvest is over-ripe...Instructed by a divine revelation, the holy Pope will, by communicating the same, stir up the hearts of [other] rulers...that animated by one spirit, they will all adhere to the mighty monarch..."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-86979466795434768172017-01-08T04:52:20.189+00:002017-01-08T04:52:20.189+00:00So the earliest Latin Father to write a commentary...So the earliest Latin Father to write a commentary on Revelation concurs with you: the "two wings of the great eagle" who support the Virgin Mary are the Two Witnesses who precede Antichrist and inaugurate an era of peace in which the Church is restored and spreads across the nations - hence why the next verses speak of the earth coming to the aid of the "Woman Adorned With the Sun".

St. Bonaventure refers to the same in his Commentary on the Apocalypse when he speaks of a seventh age of peace seventh age:

"...we know that these things will take place - the rebuilding of the Temple, the restoration of the city, and the granting of peace. Likewise in the coming seventh age there will be a restoration of Divine worship and a rebuilding of the city. Then the prophecy of Ezekiel will be fulfilled when the city comes down from heaven (Ezek 40); not indeed that city which is above, but that city which is below, the Church Militant which will then be conformed to the Church Triumphant as far as possible in this life..."

The Church on earth conformed to the Church in heaven.

Bonaventure suggests that this age will be inaugurated by a 'great monarch' whom he compares with the Old Testament figure of Josiah:

"...No one knows how long that time of great peace will last...The seventh time or age, that of quiet, begins with the shout of the angel who "swore through Him who lives forever and ever that there would be no more time; but in the days of the seventh angel the mystery of God will be completed" (Rev 10:6-7)...

Just as in the Lord's Passion there was first light, then darkness, and then light, so it is necessary that first there be the light of teaching and that Josiah succeed Hezekiah, after which came the tribulation of the Jews through their captivity in Babylon. It is necessary that one ruler, a defender of the Church, arise..."

Might he be one of the Two Witnesses - along with an Elijah-type Pope?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-71929716192206432017-01-08T04:51:23.174+00:002017-01-08T04:51:23.174+00:00"And the ministry of the Two Witnesses to res..."And the ministry of the Two Witnesses to restore the Church, proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth and bring about the conversion of the Jews must take before the Antichrist ascends to power"

Yes, you are onto some thing I think here Emmett.

St. Victorinus of Pettau (died 304 AD) a church father who wrote the earliest Latin commentary on the Book of Revelation, opined that the "two wings of the great eagle" were to be identified with the 'Two Witnesses' of the Last Days - Elijah and the other prophet (Enoch?), whom he claimed would usher in a period of "great peace" prior to the rise of Antichrist. He wrote:

http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/0712.htm

Quote:

"......2. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. He speaks of Elias the prophet, who is the precursor of the times of Antichrist, for the restoration and establishment of the churches from the great and intolerable persecution. We read that these things are predicted in the opening of the Old and New Testament; for He says by Malachi: Lo, I will send to you Elias the Tishbite, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, according to the time of calling, to recall the Jews to the faith of the people that succeed them. And to that end He shows, as we have said, that the number of those that shall believe, of the Jews and of the nations, is a great multitude which no man was able to number. Moreover, we read in the Gospel that the prayers of the Church are sent from heaven by an angel, and that they are received against wrath, and that the kingdom of Antichrist is cast out and extinguished by holy angels....

6. But the woman fled into the wilderness, and there were given to her two great eagle's wings. The aid of the great eagle's wings— to wit, the gift of prophets— was given to that Catholic Church, whence in the last times a hundred and forty-four thousands of men should believe in the preaching of Elias; but, moreover, he here says that the rest of the people should be found alive on the coming of the Lord. And the Lord says in the Gospel: Then let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains; Luke 21:21 that is, as many as should be gathered together in Judea, let them go to that place which they have ready, and let them be supported there for three years and six months from the presence of the devil.

14. Two great wings are the two prophets— Elias, and the prophet who shall be with him...

7-9. There was a battle in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon warred, and his angels, and they prevailed not; nor was their place found any more in heaven. And that great dragon was cast forth, that old serpent: he was cast forth into the earth. This is the beginning of Antichrist; yet previously Elias must prophesy, and there must be times of peace. And afterwards, when the three years and six months are completed in the preaching of Elias, he also must be cast down from heaven, where up till that time he had had the power of ascending; and all the apostate angels, as well as Antichrist, must be roused up from hell...."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-29522474812937341542016-12-29T13:23:28.988+00:002016-12-29T13:23:28.988+00:00Cetera - for that to happen, the pope would have t...Cetera - for that to happen, the pope would have to attempt to use his infallible teaching authority to espouse formal heresy (as opposed to holding to material heresy in a private capacity, like Pope John XXII). Anyone who departs from recognizing a validly elected pope is in open schism. According to trustworthy private revelations, the restoration of the Church is quite opposite, and involves the healing of schism, particularly between east and west, and the Anglican Church.

What about a Pope who excommunicates himself by teaching and espousing heresy, thereby splitting the church and pulling away followers from the True Church, who remain faithful and elect a new Pope? Hasn't something similar to this happened several times in the history of the Church?

Also, slightly off-topic, but still very much in import regarding Russia:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wDW_3FGAQY

Transcript:
A further challenge for the national Russian identity is connected to the processes we observe outside of Russia. They include foreign policy, moral, and other aspects. We see that many Euro-Atlantic states have taken the way where they deny or reject their own roots, including their Christian roots which form the basis of Western civilization.

In these countries, the moral basis and any traditional identity are being denied – national, religious, cultural, and even gender identities are being denied or relativised. There, politics treats a family with many children as juridically equal to a homosexual partnership; faith in God is equal to faith in Satan. The excesses and exaggerations of political correctness in these countries indeed leads to serious consideration for the legitimization of parties that promote the propaganda of paedophilia.

The people in many European states are actually ashamed of their religious affiliations and are indeed frightened to speak about them. Christian holidays and celebrations are abolished or “neutrally” renamed, as if one were ashamed of those Christian holidays. With this method one hides away the deeper moral value of those celebrations.

And these countries try to force this model onto other nations, globally. I am deeply convinced that this is a direct way to the degradation and primitivization of culture. This leads to deeper demographic and moral crisis in the West.

What can be better evidence for the moral crisis of human society in the West than the loss of its reproductive function? And today nearly all “developed” Western countries cannot survive reproductively, not even with the help of migrants.

Without the moral values that are rooted in Christianity and other world religions, without rules and moral values which have formed, and been developed, over millennia, people will inevitably lose their human dignity and become brutes. And we think it is right and natural to defend and preserve these Christian moral values.

One has to respect the right of every minority to self-determination, but at the same time there cannot and must not be any doubt about the rights of the majority.

At the same time as this process plays out at a national level in the West, we observe on an international level the attempts to create a unipolar, unified model of the world, to relativise and remove institutions of international rights and national sovereignty. In such a unipolar, unified world there is no place for sovereign states. Such a world needs merely vassals.

From a historical perspective, such a unipolar world would mean the surrender of one’s own identity and of God-created diversity.

Ceterahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05043066262438636003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-72917363544332781102016-12-21T21:48:12.515+00:002016-12-21T21:48:12.515+00:00Charles Fears,

Cont.

America I believe is keenly aware of this eventuality, which explains the massive technology transfer that has taken place from the USA to Poland over the last decade or so. The USA knows that Poland going nuclear means that Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria would soon follow, and once that many nuclear genies have escaped the bottle, nuclear proliferation would spread like a new Black Death, with enemies like Saudi Arabia vs. Iran obtaining them, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and even states like the Philippines arming themselves against the threat of China in the South China Sea, and the Taiwan Straits, local would-be hegemons like Turkey for sure, which seems to want to assert a Ottoman Empire-like influence again over the Middle East, the Caucasus, and the maybe even the Turkic Central Asian states, and even rather benign nations like Brazil would obtain them if the US goes into an isolationist mode, and particularly if Trump abandons their NATO allies, especially Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, to Putin.

Nigeria is another example, and South Africa would likely obtain them again as well. The world would be a power-keg not unlike Europe was prior to the First World War. I have read accounts already of the Russian Ambassador's assassination in Turkey as possibly being a trigger as Archduke Franz-Ferdinand's assassination was to the First World War; the beginning of a new war that will be more terrible than every war before it put together by far. I believe that the Year of Mercy and the run-up to the centenary of the Miracle of the Sun show that the popes since at least Pope St. John-Paul II have had a special knowledge of the chastisement to come; the Year of Mercy gave me a lot of personal comfort in my worries of what may happen.

The question of the survival of the human race in anything like its present form would go from a speculative question of "if" to a definitive question of "when" the majority of mankind would perish in a nuclear conflagration. But like the Year of Mercy, the Crowning of Our Lord as the King of Poland gives me some comfort from the land my ancestors came from, and maybe the world at large as well. If Poland gets Russian troops on its borders, I cannot see it *not* getting nuclear weapons, but perhaps the Crowning may prevent such a catastrophe that would have a ripple-effect over the entire world from happening! Please Jesus, for the sake of your sorrowful passion, have mercy on us, and on the whole world, Amen.

Again, my apologies if the post seems to be one where I just want to insert my family's personal history in a topic which it is only marginally connected to, but I felt it was OK to share this.Jason R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08096932934041161725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-50894876318841044282016-12-21T06:33:15.136+00:002016-12-21T06:33:15.136+00:00I feel a great relief for Poland reading of this e...I feel a great relief for Poland reading of this enthronement; even though my parents were German (or more properly, Austrian before the fall of the Austro-Hungarian empire, which was to me a sad event after the amazing leadership Blessed Charles displayed in desperately working with the Pope to end the First World War far before it actually ended, which could have saved millions of lives). I hope sharing my family history isn't a "look at me!!" type of post, I just thought it might be interesting and explain a little of why part of my heart is always with Poland, which I see as like a modern-day Israel in the chastisement of the Second World War where 5 million or so Poles died.

My grandparents were born in Lemberg in what was the Austro-Hungarian province of Galizia, and my grandfather fought as a regimental commander in the Russo-Polish war in the 1920s, and was there at the "Miracle on the Vistula" (http://www.ibtimes.com/miracle-vistula-turning-point-refused-turn-725675), where Polish forces almost miraculously defeated an invading Communist army that had its eye on the rest of Europe once Poland was defeated... the great Northern European plain was the chosen route, as Poland didn't have the natural protection of the Carpathian mountains as any sort of natural barrier. Poland has always been the route through which invaders both to and from Russia have used.

Though it is little known really compared to the significance, which I think rivals the Battle of Lepanto or the raising of the siege of Vienna, as an almost divine intervention that saved Christian Europe, though they haven't appreciated the gift. In Poland I think it is considered as such, and though my family came to Canada in 1949 after escaping from Communist Hungary, where as ethnic Germans they had been in a rather brutal gulag for 5 years, our roots in Poland were ever-present through my childhood.

I've been very concerned about Poland especially in terms of current geopolitics. If Putin does invade and take over the Baltic states (which in geopolitical terms it almost needs to; where potential enemies used to be 2000 km away from St. Petersburg they are now 200 km away, and Russia has always as a military doctrine traded space for time in any battle against a foreign invader), it will be geopolitically intolerable as well for Poland to have so many Russian troops on its borders again. I believe that it will feel it has no choice but to go from a nuclear-threshold state to one fully armed with nuclear weapons as a deterrent against Russian invasion or interference. There is too much history between those two nations for Poland to accept anything less.

Cont. ...Jason R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08096932934041161725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-48018597738110524322016-12-21T05:53:35.731+00:002016-12-21T05:53:35.731+00:00This seems to be a fairly significant astronomical...This seems to be a fairly significant astronomical event (if it's accurate); would this have any bearing regarding any of the other astronomical happens that have been indicative of what is happening in the spiritual realm vis-a-vis events foretold in Revelation Emmett?

http://io9.gizmodo.com/5715413/tonight-will-be-the-darkest-night-of-the-past-500-years Jason R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08096932934041161725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-24058725674358229522016-12-21T03:16:57.583+00:002016-12-21T03:16:57.583+00:00Oh! Name of Life, You give Life, Light, strength to him who loves You and invokes You.
Name which is the crown upon My Head16 as Victor over the Beast and his prophet who will be seized, skewered, submerged, buried in the liquid and eternal fire whose bite is ferocious and inconceivable to human feeling.
It will then be the time of My Kingdom on Earth. Thus there will be a rest from the demonic crimes to give man time to hear again the voices of Heaven. With the Force which unchains horror taken away, great spiritual streams will descend like cascades of grace, like rivers of heavenly water, to speak words of Light.
But as, over the centuries, they did not gather up the isolated Voices which speak of the Good, beginning with that of the Word, so men will be deaf, always deaf — except those marked with My Mark, My dearly beloved friends straining to follow Me — men will be deaf to the voices of many spirits, to voices like the noise of many waters17which will sing the new song to guide the peoples to meet the Light, and above all to Me: the eternal Word. When the last attempt has been completed,18 Satan will come for the last time and will find followers at the four corners of the earth, and they will be more numerous than the sands of the sea.
Charles Fearshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05975255521097621823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-63608320649381594792016-12-21T03:11:27.940+00:002016-12-21T03:11:27.940+00:00BABYLON THE GREAT
— From the Mystical Revelatio...BABYLON THE GREAT
— From the Mystical Revelations of Maria Valtorta
JESUS :
"Maria, now I take you by the hand to guide you in the most obscure point of the book of John5. The commentators of this book have exhausted their capacities with many deductions to explain to themselves and to the people who the "Great Babylon" is6. With human vision—to which the shocks of events desired or which happened were not foreign — they have given the name of Babylon to many things.
But how is it they have never thought that the "Great Babylon" is the whole of Earth?7
I would be a very little and limited Creator-God if I had created only Earth as an inhabited world!8 With a throb of My Will I have raised up worlds upon worlds from nothing and cast them forth — luminous fine dust — in the immensity of the firmament.
Earth, of which you are all so proud and so fierce, is but one of the bits of fine dust revolving in that infinity, and not the largest. But She is certainly the most corrupt. Lives and [more] lives teem in the millions of worlds that are the joy of your gaze on serene nights.8i

Is not Earth perhaps the great Harlot9 who has fornicated with all the powers of the earth and of hell? And the inhabitants of Earth, have they not prostituted themselves: bodies and souls, to triumph also in the earth's day?10
Yes. For it is so. The crimes of Earth have all the names of blasphemy, as has the Beast with whom Earth and Her inhabitants have also allied themselves in order to triumph. The seven sins stand as a horrible ornament on the head of the Beast who transports Earth and the earthly into the pastures of the Evil One. And the ten horns, a metaphorical number, stand to point out the infinite wickedness the Beast accomplishes to obtain, at whatever cost, as much as It wants in Its ferocious lust.
Has not Earth, soaked with the blood of martyrs, been perhaps intoxicated by this holy liqueur which, drunk down with Her sacrilegious mouth, is changed in Her mouth into a potion of accursed drunkenness? The Beast that carries Her: — [Itself] the compendium and synthesis of all the evil wrought from Adam on, just to triumph in the world and in the flesh — draws after It all those who by adoring It will become king for an hour and of an accursed kingdom. You are kings as sons of God, and it is an eternal Kingdom. But you become kings for an hour and of an accursed kingdom when you adore Satan, who cannot give you but an ephemeral triumph, paid for at the price of an eternity of horror.
Charles Fearshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05975255521097621823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-9395789680701138252016-12-20T21:40:58.266+00:002016-12-20T21:40:58.266+00:00@ Mark W and @ Emmett:

Rome was the dominant world power, like Babylon of old, while ancient Israel was described as being a "prostitute" for breaching its covenant with God in adoring other gods. There is a mix of both, which are intended to foreshadow the eschatological Babylon - the ruling world power which turns its back on its covenantal partner. Both Jerusalem and Rome symbolise aspects of the future Babylon.Emmett O'Reganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01043723932377194248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-74180362978895125002016-12-17T00:45:25.558+00:002016-12-17T00:45:25.558+00:00Mark W - the biggest catch in that proposition is ...Mark W - the biggest catch in that proposition is a break with Rome and apostolic succession, which automatically invalidates the partisan group. Anyone who departs from recognizing a validly elected pope is in open schism. According to trustworthy private revelations, the restoration of the Church is quite opposite, and involves the healing of schism, particularly between east and west, and the Anglican Church. I know that sounds odd, but think about it for a few minutes and it makes more sense. You'd have the orthodox side breaking away from the heterodox side. The orthodox side could then be seen as a renewed Church centered on the age-old teachings, while the heterodox side slips further towards crypto-Protestantism. The only catch is the papacy itself (quite a catch, I'll admit). How the papacy would work in this situation I know not. But it's an interesting idea. We'd have the smaller church that BXVI mentioned with a more traditional outlook, that might bring back all or elements of the Orthodox Church and maybe even the orthodox elements of Anglicanism.

Mark Mark Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15138095328541163796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-75210164254933954672016-12-16T10:58:14.625+00:002016-12-16T10:58:14.625+00:00I discuss this at some length in the new edition o...I discuss this at some length in the new edition of my book Veritas. Thanks Bradanfeasa! Highlighting the fact that America is the current dominant global superpower largely answers Veritas' question. The primary attribute of the eschatological Babylon lies in its role as the ruling world power which is eventually supplanted by the Antichrist and his ten kings:

And the angel said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire, for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing over their royal power to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.” (Rev 17:15-18)

America is currently the only nation that could be said to have "dominion over the kings of the earth" - an attribute that can not be applied to Russia. The only way America's current global hegemony could possibly be broken is by some form of major disaster - a paradigm shift of truly biblical proportions, which would directly follow the sequence of events concerning Babylon described above.
As Sr. Lucia said, Russia is God's chosen instrument of chastisement, and I think this nation in particular is quite likely to step in to fill the political vacuum left in the wake of the collapse of "Babylon". Judging by the visions of Blessed Elena Aiello (where she saw Russian flagstaffs flying over the Dome of St. Peter's), Russia will eventually annex Europe once America is removed from play as a world power, and there will quite possibly be a return to Soviet Communism - only this time expanded to encompass the whole of Europe.Emmett O'Reganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01043723932377194248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-37692043409437747732016-12-15T18:33:20.371+00:002016-12-15T18:33:20.371+00:00Hi Veritas,
I honestly think that Emmett is corre...Hi Veritas,

I honestly think that Emmett is correct on this.

"The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn for her, because there will be no more markets for their cargo", Rev. 18.11.

If the whore of Babylon is accepted to be the preeminent economic nation of its age, then it cannot possibly be Russia, whose industrial might is like that of a minnow compared to the US. The only other contender is China, whose economic growth over the last 25 years makes it the second greatest economy of our time and arguably the largest industrial power. The US is the greatest economic, military, intellectual and cultural power that the world has ever seen. Even the Roman empire never managed to hold all of these accolades at the same time.

After the 1917 Bolshevik revolution, the Soviet Union actively persecuted Christianity within the state, resulting in the martyrdom of large numbers of priests and religious and the wanton destruction of churches and monasteries. Although this persecution was lessened somewhat after the Nazi invasion of 1941, the Soviet Union still tried to impose an aggressive atheism on it citizens right through until 1991. In this sense, the USSR resembled the antichrist more than Babylon. President Reagan was correct in calling the USSR an "evil empire".

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia has emerged as an increasingly Christian country and has eschewed then cultural Marxism now rampant in the West. The current vitriolic attacks and Russo-phobia in the mainstream media (MSM) are nothing more than neo-McCarthyism and may well be the undoing of the MSM as a trusted source of information in the long run. Our Lady warned at Fatima that, if the world did not repent and change, the errors of Russia would spread. Personally, I think that the world has ignored her message and that the errors of communist Russia did spread and are the source of most of the issues that Western Civilization now faces (Cultural Marxism in particular). The West has, for all intents and purposes, abandoned its role as the bulwark of Christianity and fallen into apostasy.

God bless you all,
BradanfeasaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
