The few scales from my eyes have fallen. The simple matter of the Truth is that we have a duty to pray for everyone especially sinners 'especially those who need God's Mercy the most'.

A brief example, St. Therese of Lisieux (Doctor of Church), had she not prayed for Pranzini (the murderer) his Soul would not have been saved, at the eleventh hour before he was to be executed, he grabbed the crucifix and kissed it three times, there was the answer. He was a lucky man having a Great Saint interceding for him. We too can interceed for many many sinners 24/7. I believe this is so. My personal scales are tipped on God's Mercy, not his Judgement. I don't mean that in a bad way as Catholics that is a tenable position to hold.

I have heard of that book, I think Simma believed many who suicided are saved, a God of mercy in that case.

"having no one to pray for them doesn't help either" - as I understand since God wishes all to be saved each person is given "sufficient grace" to make heaven. However there are some who spurn this grace but get extra graces when others with their own free will who participate in the salvation of souls offer up prayer and sacrifices for them, enough to tip the scales and save them. Having the possibility to participate in the salvation of other souls is a great gift and responsibility given.

I think of the great defender of the faith, Fr Vincent Miceli who when afflicted with cancer in the early 90s refused any pain medication and offered all his suffering for this apostate generation. Likewise Anneliese Michel the young German girl who I believe was struck with severe diabolical possession in the 1970's offered up suffering for her generation that turned away from God.Jameyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04523915974208712573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-64072035173936463842013-02-10T14:29:42.942+00:002013-02-10T14:29:42.942+00:00Emmett, Thank you for writing such a wonderful and...Emmett, Thank you for writing such a wonderful and inspiring post.I always learn alot from your posts and comments.

"About the war that is coming. So many people are going to die, and almost all of them are going to hell!"

With due respect, Many years ago after reading the book by Nicky Eltz 'Get us out of here' an interview with Maria Simma,(Mystic and visionary) primarily focusing on the Holy Souls in Purgatory. It gave me a strong insight that Our Lord will do absolutely anything and everything in his power (without trespassing or violating our Individual Freewill) to save a soul from eternal damnation. Therefore I concluded that I was at fault (big time), The Good Lord is so much immensely Merciful than my pea- brain could ever have imagined, I felt very comforted by the revelations in this book, so much so that I cried after reading it because before that I had not understood very much about it. The Lord incredibily Merciful and Good to each and every one of us, in the human family. We owe Him so much for His Love for US and His Blessed Mother.

From what I understand it takes constant, systematic repeated rejection/hardening of our hearts until the very end, whereby if individuals either dies young or old, rich or poor God already sees that their living would not have made a dot of difference whereby they could accept God in any shape or form, also, having no one to pray for them doesn't help either. The jig is up. Even in hell, there there is a heirachy of those who suffer more or less according to their rejection of God's Loving Mercy showered upon them in life's test of time.

Through Christ, God has redeemed the world to Himself and will restore it for 1000 years in peace and righteousness (Isaiah 11). After Christ's 1000-year reign we (i.e., those who have received Almighty God’s saving grace) will reign with Him FOREVER and EVER in righteousness (Rev. 22:1-5). That is what God's plan is for everyone... for those who will but choose it!

What incredible hope there is in Our Blessed Lord, Almighty God! Let us Place our Trust in Him and His Blessed Mother today. We will never be the same!

Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05342713528373741011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-27359118586566290922013-02-08T15:57:30.136+00:002013-02-08T15:57:30.136+00:00The destiny of the soul after death is rarely, if ...The destiny of the soul after death is rarely, if ever supernaturally revealed to anyone - especially not the fate of the damned or reprobate. This is why the writings of the saints differ so widely in this respect - as much of it is based on personal conjecture, rather than supernatural knowledge or private revelation. The Catholic Encylopeadia sums this up quite well:

"prophecies or revelations which make known the sins of others, or which announce the predestination or reprobation of souls are to be suspected. Three special secrets of God have always to be deeply respected as they are very rarely revealed, namely: the state of conscience in this life, the state of souls after death unless canonized by the Church, and the mystery of predestination. The secret of predestination has been revealed only in exceptional cases, but that of reprobation has never been revealed, because so long as the soul is in this life, its salvation is possible. The day of General Judgment is also a secret which has never been revealed."

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12473a.htmEmmett O'Reganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01043723932377194248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-69409458973763592792013-02-08T04:40:54.219+00:002013-02-08T04:40:54.219+00:00From St Louis De Montfort's The Love of Eterna...From St Louis De Montfort's The Love of Eternal Wisdom:

St Denis the Areopagite relates that a certain bishop, Carpas by name, had, after a great deal of trouble, converted a pagan. On hearing afterwards that a fellow-pagan had lost no time in making the new convert abjure the faith, Carpas earnestly prayed to God all night to wreak vengeance and punishment upon the guilty one for his attack on the supreme authority of God. Suddenly, when his fervour and his entreaties were reaching their peak, he saw the earth opening and on the brink of hell he saw the apostate and the pagan whom the demons were trying to drag into the abyss. Then lifting up his eyes, he saw the heavens open and Jesus Christ accompanied by a multitude of angels coming to him and saying, "Carpas, you asked me for vengeance, but you do not know me. You do not realise what you are asking for, nor what sinners have cost me. Why do you want me to condemn them? I love them so much that if it were necessary I would be ready to die again for each one of them." Then our Lord approached Carpas, and, uncovering his shoulders, said to him, "Carpas, if you want to take vengeance, strike me rather than these poor sinners."Jameyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04523915974208712573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-40181675082726861702013-02-08T04:36:41.448+00:002013-02-08T04:36:41.448+00:00Touching upon your statement about the number save...Touching upon your statement about the number saved. I think this topic is quite pertinent with the current worldwide Great Apostasy as the soul count will be high in this spiritual war (and based on Our Lady's warnings) but the ratio of the damned is anyones guess. The very nature of this existence seems to indicate chastisement which is a concern.

"Saint Vincent Ferrer relates that an archdeacon in Lyons gave up his charge and retreated into a desert place to do penance, and that he died the same day and hour as Saint Bernard. After his death, he appeared to his bishop and said to him, "Know, Monsignor, that at the very hour I passed away, thirty-three thousand people also died. Out of this number, Bernard and myself went up to heaven without delay, three went to purgatory, and all the others fell into Hell." 5 out of 33,000"

This would mean 0.009% of people make it to heaven. In that case God would be asking close to the impossible which makes matters unjust.

Most of the early fathers and the Bible itself seem to be rigorous but saying that ratios aren't given and possibly differ by generation anyhow.

There are varying opinions amongst the saints themselves, for example Padre Pio the first stigmatic priest was believed to have thought few went to Hell (this from Bernard Ruffin's well researched book). Many of the more reputable nde's seem to indicate a God of mercy. Conversely St Thomas Aquinas believed the greater part of Catholics themselves went to Hell (imagine the Gentiles then). Sr Elena Aiello stormed into a Protestant church and told the congregation that if they wanted to save their souls they must convert to Catholicism. It's easy to see how this can become a head spinner. When raising a child what balance does one teach them in regard to God's mercy and his justice. If they miss Mass on Sunday do you tell them they are going to Hell for example?

Ultimately God desires that all be saved (1 Timothy 2:4). Howard Storm in his near death experience (discernment needed) saw the expression of the angels sadness when someone goes to Hell as it causes so much grief to God himself - this would make sense because if God truly wished all to be saved then he would be genuinely upset that some go to Hell and ultimately it must have been their own choice. Why would he be grieved if he predestined souls (i.e. they had no clear choice in the matter) to Hell and had perfect knowledge of this from the foundation of the universe. I do find the notion that God would permit most to be damned for his own glory horrible.Jameyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04523915974208712573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-39114772058316938592013-02-08T04:23:20.068+00:002013-02-08T04:23:20.068+00:00Emmett, I will dig the book out of storage in the ...Emmett, I will dig the book out of storage in the next couple of weeks and scan through the couple of pages with Sr Sasagawa's locutions. From memory there was nothing of a more esoteric nature that would assist your work though.

I do find it odd that none of the Popes (to my knowledge anyhow) met Sr Sasagawa yet allegedly met with one of the Medjugorje seers which is under dispute (perhaps JPII wanted to gauge the authenticity of the seer himself). So many people are going to die, and almost all of them are going to hell!"

Tending on the side of soteriological maximalism (I'd say most people are decent, and reach at least purgatory), I find this statement difficult. It's impossible to reconcile theodicy with a Jansenist level of predestination.
Perhaps it was directed at the combatants in the war. War drives men to commit atrocities, and dying in the midst of such barbarism without time or inclination to repent could put the soul in grave jeopardy.
That's interesting about the Akita book - I'll have to look into it...Emmett O'Reganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01043723932377194248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6767475475753279918.post-30573445899221526082013-02-06T11:41:48.561+00:002013-02-06T11:41:48.561+00:00"About the war that is coming. Also came across a Janice McConnell book recently and it was interesting to note Sr Sasagawa continued to have locutions on the 13th October into the mid 1980's that aren't published on the net, well after the statue stopped weeping. Despite one person on the net who has committed calumny by saying that she was mentally ill and visualised demons often trying to eat her, Sr Sasagawa came across as a profoundly gentle and humble soul in an extensive interview on "A Hill of Redepmtion" and whom had the respect of fellow sisters and the well discerning bishop, John Ito, may he rest in peace.Jameyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04523915974208712573noreply@blogger.com
