St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and the Centenary of Fatima

On the centenary of the apparitions of the Angel of Peace to the shepherd children of Fatima, it should be worth contemplating the famous private revelation given to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, requesting the king to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on 17th June, 1689. The requested consecration wasn't carried out, and as a consequence on 17th June 1789, exactly 100 years later, the Third Estate proclaimed itself as the National Assembly, which stripped the king of his legislative powers during the French Revolution.
Sr. Lucia received a number of private revelations which referenced this apparition, indicating that the consecration of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was similarly comprised of a 100 year period. This has led many Catholics to conclude that the upcoming centenary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima in 2017 is of crucial importance to the Secret of Fatima itself.
A comparison between both requests for consecration was made during an apparition to Sr. Lucia at Rianjo in 1931:
They did not wish to heed My request! Like the King of France, they will repent and do it, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors throughout the world, provoking wars, and persecutions against the Church; the Holy Father will have much to suffer.

This apparition was also referred to in the appendix of Sr. Lucia's autobiography:

Make it known to My ministers, given that they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My command, they will follow him into misfortune. It is never too late to have recourse to Jesus and Mary.’ (Sr. Lucia, Fatima in Lucia’s Own Words, p199)

Although the apparition of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque is well known, its exact content is very often overlooked. So I thought it would be worth posting it here. St. Margaret Mary revealed the contents of this private revelation to her Mother Superior, Madam Saumaise, which was recounted in a book written in 1874, The Life of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque by Emile Bougaud, the Bishop of Laval:
The second letter, though in a different sense, is much more important. It was written on coming out of ecstasy, on the Feast of the Sacred Heart itself, Friday after the octave of the Blessed Sacrament, June 17, 1689. The Spirit of God had rested on the holy Sister, and displayed to her in prophetic light His designs of mercy on France.

There is to the devotion of the Sacred Heart a private and a social side. Margaret Mary begins with the first.

"In fine, my dear Mother," she writes, "are we not all consumed in the burning heat of His pure love? It will reign, this amiable Heart, in spite of Satan, his imps and his agents. This word transports me with joy. But to be able to express to you the great graces and benedictions it will attract upon all that shall have procured it the most honor and glory is what I cannot do in the way that He has given me to understand it.

"He has made me see the devotion to His Sacred Heart as a beautiful tree, destined from all eternity to spring up and take root in the midst of our Institute, and to extend its branches into the houses that compose it, so that each may gather from it fruits most pleasing to her liking and taste. But He desires that the daughters of the Visitation should distribute abundantly to all that will eat of it the fruits of this sacred tree. By this means He desires to restore life to many; and, by withdrawing them from the way of perdition, and destroying the empire of Satan in their heart, to establish in them that of His love."

Behold the first design, the supernatural, the special side of devotion to the Sacred Heart, that which regards souls at all times and in all places. Margaret Mary continues: "But He does not wish to stop here. He has still greater designs, which can be executed only by His almighty power."

Which are those designs that the Saint calls the greatest, and for which she invokes the All-powerful?

"He desires, then, it seems to me, to enter with pomp and magnificence into the palaces of kings and princes, therein to be honored as much as He has been despised, humiliated, and outraged in His Passion. May He receive as much pleasure therein at seeing the great ones of the world abasing and humbling themselves before Him as He once felt bitterness at beholding Himself annihilated at their feet!"

The tone of these words convinces one that Margaret Mary, when uttering them, was in a sort of ecstasy. What follows leaves no room for doubt on the subject. "Here are," she continues, "the words that I heard on this point: 'make known to the eldest son of my heart,' speaking of our king, ' that as his temporal birth was obtained through devotion to the merits OF MY HOLY CHILDHOOD, IN THE SAME MANNER he WILL OBTAIN HIS BIRTH OF GRACE AND ETERNAL GLORY BY THE CONSECRATION THAT HE WILL MAKE OF HIMSELF TO my adorable heart, which wishes to triumph over his heart, and by his mediation over those of the great ones of the world. it wishes to reign in his palace, TO BE PAINTED ON HIS STANDARDS AND ENGRAVEN ON HIS ARMS, IN ORDER TO RENDER HIM VICTORIOUS OVER ALL HIS ENEMIES."...

In letter sent to Madam Saumaise in August 1689, St. Margaret Mary wrote an account of another apparition which took place after this:

"The Eternal Father, wishing to repair the bitterness and agony that the Adorable Heart of His Divine Son endured in the palaces of earthly princes, amidst the humiliations and outrages of His Passion, wishes to establish His empire in the heart of our great monarch, of whom He desires to make use in the execution of His design, which is to have an edifice erected in which shall be a picture of His divine Heart, to receive the consecration and homage of the king and all the court.

" Moreover, this divine Heart wishes to make itself the defender of the sacred person of the king, his protector against all his enemies. Therefore has it chosen him as its faithful friend, to have the Mass authorized by the Holy Apostolic See, and to obtain all the other privileges that ought to accompany devotion to this divine Heart.

"It is by this divine Heart that God wishes to dispense the treasures of His graces of sanctification and salvation, by bestowing His benediction on the king's undertakings, according a happy success to his arms, and making him triumph over the malice of his enemies."

  1. I'm so happy you are writing on this - the link seems to me to be so very obvious. The devotions very much connected.

  2. But Emmett, you believe the consecration took place, don't you? I'm confused by:

    1) > This has led many Catholics to conclude that the upcoming centenary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima in 2017 is of crucial importance to the Secret of Fatima itself.

    2) > Make it known to My ministers, given that they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My command, they will follow him into misfortune. It is never too late to have recourse to Jesus and Mary.

Is the point being made here that the consecration took place, but too far along the 100 year period? That can't be, because "it is never too late." Was #2 written pre-consecration, and if so, does it still hold weight?

Sorry, I feel dense. If the Fatima consecration indeed took place, that fact seems to take the "100 year importance viz France" off the table as an item of interest, since the two events no longer have that item in common - that item being "a consecration which did not take place."

I JUST talked to my friend about this earlier today! Before I came across your article! I too am mixed on whether the Consecration was fully done. I just came upon your new writing -- and today just told him -- something that has been on my mind and heart for a few weeks. I think the 100 year period -- in connection with the consecration of Russia -- ends in 2029.
It was June 13 1929 when our Lady returned to Lucia to ask for the consecration of Russia. I think that the 100 years -- when the ministers will suffer just as the King of France did -- is 2029 - 2031.
I say this for 2 reasons.
    1) The ground work is being laid now -- for a totally anti christian society. Anyone not accepting homosexual marriage, homosexual activity, transgenderism, artificial birth control, cohabitation, abortion etc is seen as a pariah. This is being forced on all those with beliefs -- at their jobs and in society. Even if you post on facebook something about traditional marriage etc you are attacked relentlessly as being filled with hate and not open to "love" and "kindness" etc. And this is in 2016!
This will grow exponentially in the next 10 years.
Our Church is not helping this situation with its silence (by most bishops and cardinals).
We have already seen the infighting occurring within the Church at the very top. Within 10 years it will have reached the point that even violence is ok against those who are "filled with hate" (as the liberals see it) and want people to live by their laws (Christian living).
This is being inculcated in schools all over the world and will have grown into absolute acceptance within this time. By 2029 - however things are going -- a Christian martyrdom will come -- this is also in direct connection to Lucia's words "the final battle that Satan will go into is against the family and marriage". This time has arrived.

    2) The Lord's word's Himself -- lay the direct 100 year connection. 1929 - 2029.
It also fits the timeline of massive events between 2017 and 2040 -- when many believe the 10 secrets of Medjugorje will unfold -- as well, of course, as world events that are not contained within the 10. And the full renewal of the Church and the world will have come. Mary will reign as Queen. Jesus as King.
The triumph of the Immaculate Heart will have arrived.

  4. Great article, Emmett! No one could forget that Pope Benedict XVI pointed out the year 2017 during the year dedicated to Priests when he spoke in Fatima... "May the seven years which separate us from the centenary of the apparitions hasten the fulfilment of the prophecy of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to the glory of the Most Holy Trinity."
    http://w2.vatican.va/content/benedict-xvi/en/homilies/2010/documents/hf_ben-xvi_hom_20100513_fatima.html

My family was going to adoration last Friday when we happened upon a healing mass that was taking place at the parish. After Mass the priest was going to pray over each person and bless the sick with a relic of the True Cross. Prior to beginning the praying over the people, he told us in the congregation that the Immaculate Heart of Mary was going to triumph next year. He did not go into details or say why he thought that, he simply stated that. I wondered to myself if he (the Priest) had an inspiration from the Holy Spirit or what. My family discussed this at length on the way home from church. My husband asked me what exactly is the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and I couldn't really articulate what it was to him or my kids. However we did agree that we want it with all our hearts so we desperately cling to this hope, but realize that God's time may no be our time.

  5. The 1984 Fatima Consecration took place and was accepted by Heaven. To say otherwise is to call Sister Lucia and her superiors liars.

I believe the correct analysis is that, yes, the 1984 Consecration was valid and was accepted by Heaven, but it did come too late, and Russia's errors did spread. They spread to the West, where we now find an anti-christian, Communist ruler in the White House and where we now see an apostasy at work in the once Christian West.

But the Consecration of Russia was effective. As evidence of that, look no further than the current tensions between the West and Russia: the West is now on the wrong side in Syria, supporting so-called "Syrian Rebels" (who are neither Syrian nor rebelling) who have butchered more innocent Catholics and Christians than Nero. Opposing these Western-supported Islamic proxy armies is Vladimir Putin who is the Orthodox equivalent of a Great Catholic Monarch and who has single handedly opposed the evil designs of the West in Syria.

Everything is happening just as Our Lady of Fatima said it would, and only someone who doesn't pay attention to world events would say otherwise. The question now becomes: how does this end? Will it end in a Triumph or a Chastisement? Will Russia become the instrument of divine justice on the West, or will various nations be annihilated? With only a little over a year left until the 100th Anniversary of the Fatima apparitions, I'd say that barring some miracle, the world is on the road to chastisement.

  6. I do believe that the 1984 consecration "was accepted by heaven", and that it ultimately brought about the downfall of the Soviet Union. But it still wasn't done completely as specified, and as a consequence, it hasn't brought about all the benefits that it could have achieved. Russia still hasn't converted to Catholicism and we can see now that it still presents a very really threat. Sr. Lucia's words "they will do it, but it will be late" suggests that the consecration will only be done completely as stipulated at some point in the future, in the midst of an open persecution of the Church by Russia. This was foreseen in the visions of Blessed Elena Aiello. I would agree with Michael Patrick that this hundred year period most likely started to count down when Our Lady came to ask for the consecration of Russia in 1929. The 1984 consecration would only have been late if this was directly equated with the 100 years of Satan's greater power, and this time period began when Pope Leo XIII experienced his vision. We can see with the request given to St. Margaret Mary that "too late" is after a span of 100 years. However the 100 years of Satan's greater power should be considered separately from the 100 year period from the request to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. They are two different 100 year spans associated with the two separate devotions to Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The 100 year period foreseen by Pope Leo began with his consecration of the world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1899, and given that at the end of this period Satan's greater power is taken away from him, when the Devil is thrown down to earth by St. Michael, there can only be a single positive outcome. Satan no longer has a greater power to deceive the nations into gathering for war after this event, but his influences remain at the same level they were before this "short time" began. After Satan is cast down to the earth, he sends out a flood which threatens to carry the Woman away before it is swallowed up by the earth - representing the renewal of the Church by the Two Witnesses. The 100 year period alluded to by Sr. Lucia can only have started from the moment that Our Lady came to make the request to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart - either 2017 or 2029 (more likely the latter, since in 1917 Our Lady said she would come back to request the consecration of Russia, which she did properly in 1929). Just as the 100 year period which ended in the French Revolution began counting down from when Our Lord commanded the King of France to consecrate his country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, so too did the 100 year period of Fatima begin counting down from the request for the pope together with the bishops of the world to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Unlike the end of the century of Satan's greater power, this doesn't have a single positive outcome - Sr. Lucia specifically states that it will be done late just as the King of France done (i.e. sometime after 2029), and that the Church will have to endure the period of persecution foreseen in the Third Secret: "They did not wish to heed My request! Like the King of France, they will repent and do it, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors throughout the world, provoking wars, and persecutions against the Church; the Holy Father will have much to suffer."

Thank you for summing up, much better then I could, what I was trying to say. Funny that it's been on my mind for the last week or so and you end up writing something in connection with it. And like I had said. I think 2029 for 2 reasons.
    1) the Lord Himself stated this by connecting it to the King of France --(and its 1929 - 2029 from when our Lady returned to ask Lucia for the consecration).
    2) with everything going on in the world -- 13 years from now things should be embedded in almost every culture of the acceptance of sin -- and those anyone not ok with every lifestyle etc and sin will be seen as the ones who are intolerant and not open to "love".
Along with this are 2 things.
I think that a possible massive world economic meltdown and or massive cataclysm will lead things into possibly much more of a one world unification. I think we can all see this happening -- easily over the next 10 years or so. This one world movement will encompass and accept sin -- and things like christianity will be seen by most people as a cancer which needs to be cleansed. Which is why I think, whatever situation leads to it, will lead to a literal martyrdom of christians.
The second reason I believe this is because of Kibeho. Mary appeared in the 80's in Kibeho Africa - which is in Rwanda. The children/teens were shown in visions people being hacked to death with machete's etc and a literal river of blood. This all ended up coming true in 1993, 1994 in Rwanda when the Hutu's and the Tutsi's tribal differences came to a head (one of the two went on a massive rampage with machete's through all of Rwanda -- killing millions. Yes, millions.)
In the messages of Kibeho our Lady said specifically that she had come for the whole world -- and that what she was saying and showing them was also FOR THE WHOLE WORLD. I believe this is a foreshadowing of what is going to come.
Many of you may be reading this saying "Oh, come on. It couldn't come to that". I'm sure that's what they thought there. We have no idea what things are coming. What events might occur to spur on such a massive event of killing/martyrdom. But we do know that the messages of Fatima, Akita and Medjugorje all lead to massive things occurring on a world wide scale. As well -- if one goes back and reads some of the things that St John Paul II said in his last years -- specifically when he made his last group of cardinals -- he pretty much comes right out and says -- be ready to even shed your blood for the faith. But he uses distinct and powerful words. More then just as an altruism. I remember it struck me then -- and now as I see things leading more and more as a movement against all things Christian in our society -- I believe this time is coming. And I think 2029 is the time when this will arrive fully -- because of our Lord's words.

  9. Thank you for the clarification Emmett, now your original post makes sense to me.

On a personal note it also makes more sense to me now why, in these past couple of years, there has been a surge of devotion in me to the Sacred Heart, which now occupies the most prominent place in my prayer room. It rather came out of the blue, as this devotion was not in my life before nor did it have any apparent catalyst from outside.

I was in Washington D.C. recently and some street corner "preachers" were set up on an impromptu stage with huge speakers screaming some sort of bile or other at the entire block, handing out literature about the nation of islam or something. They had a large picture of the Sacred Heart in a frame set up, with big signs around it - "Christianity worships idols!" I guess they had a permit to spread their garbage out to the city like that. I was with a friend and we walked right in front of them. At first I had an impulse to grab the image and run, then I had an impulse to kneel and reverence the image, then reason took over and I realized I wasn't called to make a violent scene at that time but to just move on. I told my friend, "Our love is stronger than their hate. Because a month from now we will still be loving the Sacred Heart whereas they will have long since packed up and gone home to pursue other things."

And it's true. That was last October and I am still here praying to the Sacred Heart.

It is an item to think about, I think, the Faustinian "Door of Mercy" possibly related to this Jubilee Year.

If this Jubilee Year of Mercy is the St. Faustina "Door of Mercy," it's difficult to reconcile the time periods with those expressed above, that is, 2029. It seems to dilute the vital significance of this Year of Mercy for this generation; seems to take away its eschatological punch. I have long wondered if we wouldn't see something substantial happen (substantial to unbelievers, that is) this year as a world-wide wake up call to move back into the arms of Mother Church. Of course I do think believers are being woken up.

I don't think that the eschatological import of this Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy has been fully explored.

Socially, economically, culturally, nuclear, morally, bioengineering etc....it's difficult for me to think of our current trajectory continuing on that much longer. Something has to snap somewhere, and snap in a very serious way, and soon I think.

  11. Everyone
A thought regarding the Year of Mercy and the "door" of mercy our Lord spoke about to St Faustina. We cannot assume that the Year of Mercy is one and the same. Although, I, like you, would love for it to be -- so that there is an awakening NOW - we can't be sure of that.
The "door" of mercy time that our Lord refers to, I personally think, refers to the time before the sign that will be left on the hill in Medjugorje.
The seers there said that the first 3 secrets that they have been given are "warnings" to awaken the conscience of the world. The 3rd of these is the sign left on the hill in Medjugorje. In repeated interviews the 6 of them have said that the sign will be permanent. It will be there until the end of the world. This is what they said our Lady told them -- as a sign to all generations that she came there -- that she is our Mother -- that Jesus, her Son, is Savior of all.
The sign on the hill will be able to be photographed and filmed - but it will not be able to be altered. No one knows what this means of course because the sign has not happened yet.
I say all of this because I think that the time of the "door" of mercy is all of the time leading up to the sign. AFTER the sign is given then the "door" of time has been closed.
Referring to those who have NOT accepted His mercy in the time leading up to and soon after the sign -- bc there will be events following the sign - chastisements -- and so people will for the most part have made their choice as the chastisements begin to occur.
    Just a thought.
So this year of mercy is part of the "time" of the door of mercy being open. This time could last 5 - 10 or more years. Depending on when the first 3 secrets occur. So, for example, if the permanent sign occurs in 2028 -- then the time of the "door" of Mercy will have been open all the way until 2028. Afterward the cleansing will begin as the chastisements for sin occur. Thus the door of mercy will be "closed". (of course anyone who repents up until the last second of their life is forgiven -- so the "door" is figurative in the sense that there is a "time" a "period of time" when He is giving us a chance to change our lives -- before He allows the cleansing to come.
Something to ponder and pray about.

  12. Ok, but let’s factor in some of the 2017 items here, because it seems odd to leave them out at this point. I’m not sure how to square them with the idea of something big happening in 2029. (And quite honestly, I don’t know that I want to go that long like this. This has been a tough six months, and another 13 years is going to be even more unpleasant.) Here are some dates that I think might be important. I’ll add a couple of battle anniversaries to show how much happens in September and October of these years.

October 2, 2016 – 29 Elul in the Jewish calendar – end of the jubilee year.

November 20, 2016 – Jupiter enters the “womb” of Virgo. Simultaneous to this – the Year of Mercy ends.

September 9, 2017 – Jupiter exits the “womb” of Virgo.

September 11/12, 2017 – 334th anniversary of the Battle of Vienna.

September 23, 2017 – Revelation 12 is fulfilled. “A great sign appeared in heaven…” On September 23, 2017, the sun will be directly behind Virgo’s “shoulder”, the moon will be at Virgo’s feet, and there will be 12 “stars” (9 stars and 3 planets) just above Virgo’s head. All this will happen just after Jupiter exits the “womb”.

October 7, 2017 – 446th anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto.

October 10, 2017 – 1285th anniversary of the Battle of Tours.

October 13, 2017 – 100th anniversary of the last apparition at Fatima and the Miracle of the Sun. 133rd anniversary of Pope Leo XIII vision.

October 24, 2017 – 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution (the beginning of the insurrection in Petrograd). This date is from the Julian calendar, and corresponds to 7 November on the Gregorian calendar. Russia was still on the Julian calendar in 1917.

October 31, 2017 – 500th anniversary of Martin Luther nailing the 95 theses on the door of the church at Wittenberg.

November 7, 2017 – Actual 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution on the Gregorian calendar.

At no point in 2029 are the conditions of Revelation 12 met. October 9, 2029 comes close, but lacks the 12 stars. The moon is below the feet of Virgo, but so low as to be in Libra already. But the moon is behind the Virgin in this case.

So, how does all this square with the 2029 timeline?

My thought is 2029 for the beginning of a great persecution of Christians/Bishops/Pope taking place -- or starting -- it might last a few months/years.
I say this because I think that our Lord telling Lucia in 1931 that "like the King of France etc" the pope will suffer "his ministers" (Bishops as well and priests).
The only thing His words relate to are the EXACT 100 years from when, through St Margaret Mary, He asked the King of France to consecrate himself to the Sacred Heart (and his kingdom).
This was not done. And 100 years to the day -- the king of France was executed.
Our Lady came in 1929 to ask for the consecration of Russia. Even if we say the consecration was done in 1984 (which is fine with me) - it still doesn't mean the after affects of it taking so long to be done don't go on. We KNOW that things are nowhere near what they should be in our world and our church. If anything sin is more accepted and celebrated then every before.
We KNOW that our Lord is going to shake things up. (I'm an adherent to Medjugorje. So I believe we have 10 major events to live through -- which, when they are done -- will have brought us to the full triumph of our Lady's heart!)
It is easy to see that everything in the western world is pointing toward total acceptance of all sin and the refusal to accept Christianity and Christian living.
It's not crazy at all to think that this will have reached a fever pitch within 10 - 13 years.
Some may say -- "but after He begins to act, won't things change." No.
The 6 visionaries in Medjugorje thought the same thing! Because they have SEEN what the first 3 secrets are. When our Lady began showing them the last 3 -- the major chastisements -- Mirjana was surprised. She even asked our Lady why these things will happen -- after the warnings occur! Wouldn't everyone change?!! Our lady told her no. There will still be many who refuse God's grace and they will choose to remain in sin and darkness and so the chastisements will come to fully cleanse everything. So, we already know that even after He awakens MANY -- billions, more then likely. There will still be a few billion who choose to take satan's side. And thus -- the Lord will be compelled to act and renew everything through chastisement. We live in an unbelievable time.

  14. Thanks, Michael Patrick. But I'm not an adherent of Medjugorie. So if I remove that from your explanation, it's a tad bit thin. And that still doesn't deal with any of the events listed in my last post that are this year and next. One site mentioned that the Revelation 12 celestial display on Sept 23, 2017, won't happen again in the next 10,000 years. (I don't have a way to validate that myself.)

Surely these things point to next year as being a very important thing, right?

  15. Emmett,

Our Lady of Fatima did not come primarily to convert Russia to Catholicism. Russia was Orthodox for hundreds of years before 1917 and yet Our Lady did not appear once in all those years of schism. If converting Russia to Catholicism was her primary mission, then why not appear in the year of the Great Schism?

Dates are important, Emmett. Our Lady chose 1917 to appear because this was the year Russia rejected Orthodoxy and embraced Atheism. Apostasy is a greater evil than Schism.

Our Lady was successful and everyone who continues to peddle this disobedient notion that the 1984 Consecration was not valid is being offensive to Our Lady of Fatima and is defaming the good name of Sister Lucia, Cardinal Bertone, and numerous other good, orthodox catholics. This spirit of disobedience and distrust is of the devil and it is sad to see it come, not from the Left, but from traditional Catholics.

God have mercy on you all in the Holy Year of Mercy!

  16. You make a good point. I have the utmost respect for the Orthodox Church, and think it is wondrous to see its resurgence in Russia. The Orthodox are our closest brothers in faith. I don't mean to detract from the significance of the rebirth of the Orthodox Church in Russia, which I believe is a miracle from God wrought from the 1984 consecration. I do believe this consecration was valid. Yet I also firmly believe that the prayer of Christ in John 17:2 will become reality, and we will all become one before the appearance of the Antichrist. In this regard, I believe that this primarily refers to the healing of the Great Schism, along with some Protestant Churches (specifically the Anglican) uniting to Rome. I agree that Cardinal Bertone has unfairly suffered many injustices.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I also think we need to be wary about constructing a too rigid time-frame concerning future events. God has proven time and again that he does his own things, his own way, in his own time. Personally, I hope and pray that the year 2017 will bring about the reunification of the Catholic with the Orthodox Church, and that this will be the year that the flood of apostasy sent forth from the mouth of the Dragon will finally be swallowed up.

  18. Anonymous 9Feb. @ 14:58 made some very strident comments about the 1984 Consecration. There is an Interfax website that posts many articles about the Russian Orthodox Church. They provided figures for church attendance on the feast of Our Lord's Baptism throughout all of Russia.

Some two million people attend Feast of Baptism of Christ celebrations in Russia

Moscow, January 19, Interfax - Up to two million people took part in celebrations in Russia for the occasion of the Feast of the Baptism of Christ, the Interior Ministry's press center told Interfax.

Some 45,000 police officers and soldiers were maintaining public order near churches and specially equipped Epiphany baths. Employees from private security firms, volunteers and Cossacks assisted them.

As many as 89,000 people participated in the Epiphany bathing in Moscow, the press service of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's branch for the city told Interfax.

If the population of all of Russia is 144 million and 2 million attended service then about 1.4% of the population attended service, Church attendance seems to still be quite low. We would all like Russia to be completely converted, but the reality of it is that they have a very long way to go. My prayers go out to them because at the moment they are suffering terribly economically.

12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

Let's say that the year 2017 will be the year that the flood of apostasy sent forth from the mouth of the dragon will finally be swallowed up and perhaps a miracle and or a chastisement happens in the same year to make Christians and non-believers unite.
The thing that is so hard for me to fathom, is that how can a greater apostasy and apocalypse (as other Saintly people prophesied ) happen within the end of this century. What would trigger those two things to happen within 83 years of each other? Wouldn't something terrible have to happen within that 100 year reign of Satan for something so evil to happen.

  20. "Russia will be converted" - we could discuss what that means. Does that mean her churches will fill back up and everyone will flock to the faith? Or rather will she turn from her evil ways in the world?

The staggering, shocking and near overnight collapse of the Soviet Union and the complete end of her worldwide mischief in such a sudden period of time in so few years after the consecration is one of the great stories of recent centuries. To not tie that directly to the Fatima Consecration would defy reason.

    Here is the timeline:
    https://www.ewtn.com/expert/answers/FatimaConsecration.htm

If that isn't Russia converting from her evil ways, I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like!

    * * *

"A period of peace will be granted to the world."

And so we had our period of peace. And so now Russia is back on the march, having gobbled up Crimea, battling it out in Eastern Ukraine, and preparing to snap up the Baltic states practically overnight. The only thing strange about this is how little press coverage it gets.

Just today we have this from TheWeek news source: "Russia Needs Only Three Days to Conquer Estonia and Latvia:"

    http://theweek.com/articles/604105/russia-needs-only-3-days-conquer-estonia-latvia

It seems painfully evident that the "period of peace" has expired. Which means there was period of it. Which means the consecration "took."

  21. October 13, 1884 Pope Leo XII had the vision of Satan speaking to Christ, when Satan asked for 100 years to destroy Christ's Church, which led to Pope Leo XII writing the Prayer to St. Michael, the Archangel. The Pergamon Altar, the altar to Zeus, was moved to Berlin from Turkey and was rebuilt in 1886. Is this Satan's altar? It is housed in Berlin's Pergamon Museum, which is being remodeled and is to reopen in 2019 or 2020. In 1917, when the BVM appeared in Fatima, Russia turned to communism, while we witnessed the rise of Hitler in Germany. These events were followed by Padre Pio receiving the Stigmata in 1918. Prayer and sacrifice were needed to offset the rise of Satan's power. It sounds as though many of us have been doing the consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to the Sacrerd Heart of Jesus. We are being called. Many prayers and sacrifices are needed to get people to return to God. If you. Haven't already, please get "Consoling the Heart of Jesus" by Fr. Michael Gaitley and do the consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It takes ten weeks. Start March 3rd and you will be done by June 3rd, which is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This is when we remember Moses receiving the 10 Commandments and the First Pentecost. Nine days later at sundown the Jewish Feast of Shavout begins, when the Jews remember Moses receiving the 10 Commandments. Will the Fatima 99th Anniversary on June 13th be the illumination of conscience, when we see ourselves as God sees us? Will people return to God before November 20, 2016, the end of the year of Mercy? There will be little time for conversion. For those who follow Medjugorje the time between Mijana's message on June 2nd and the Feast of Shavout gives her the time she needs to tell Fr. Lubricic, to pray and fast for seven days with Father and for Father to make the announcement that begins the 10 secrets/warnings. Only God knows the hour. May God's grace help us to be the Jonahs of the world that we might bring people to repentance so that all might be saved.

  22. Mary Ellen and all
Thank you for the idea of the book Consoling the Heart of Jesus. I agree with all here that it would seem SOMETHING major will occur (maybe more then one thing) in 2017. (maybe even this year leading into 2017) I just can't see everything being cleaned up and the full triumph of her heart occurring all in one year. Which is another reason why Medjugorje makes sense to me. God providing a few wake ups (per the visionaries in Medj -- 3 warnings - with a final permanent sign) giving people some time to wake up and alter their lives. And then -- a short time later a cleanup of the Church and the world.
2 things point to their being a massive event of some sort that will be a chastisement. (In Medj the visionaries talk of 3 chastisements -- secrets 8,9, 10) -- The 2 things I'm referring to are Akita and the just released vision that Lucia was given of something of a huge tidal wave sweeping over many cities. Interestingly enough - if the words of St John Paul II in Fulda Germany in the late 1970's are to be believed -- he says the same thing as Lucia's vision.
Something about the "oceans rising from one minute to the next" and wiping out millions -- if that is what part of the "3rd" secret contained (at that time the 3rd secret of course had not been released) -- and he said that regardless of what is coming or what the 3rd secret said or says -- the most important thing he said is to pray the rosary every day -- as our Lady requested in Fatima.
My point is -- although I too agree that 2017 will (hopefully) bring about something big and wonderful -- I think the conversion of hearts and the full triumph of our Lady's heart will play out over a longer period of time then just 2017.
I believe Emmett makes a good point -- part of 2017 could be the full unification of the Catholic and Orthodox church's -- along with some of the protestant sects. THAT WOULD truly be big! And it seem P Francis is laying the groundwork -- meeting with the leader of the Russian Orthodox church this Friday! in Cuba. So, it would seem that they could possibly work things out over the coming 18 months or so. Exciting times. And the need for us to keep the rosary in our hands each day.

  23. Emmett,

Please don't think that I'm "constructing a too rigid time-frame concerning future events." I'm not. I'm simply trying to fit all the pieces of the puzzle together, to find meaning in all the variety of sources that can be, quite frankly, overwhelming at times. I honestly don't know how you keep all this straight.

But I honestly think these celestial events coming this year and next are VERY important, and I'm trying now to sort out how they play into everything else. Genesis 1:14 - "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years..." The first thing listed there is signs.

The next time Revelation 12 will be seen in the heavens - in the same form as it will be in September of next year - may not be for 10,000 more years. This has to be significant.

I've been accused of trying to set timelines before, here and in other places, and pretty much told to shut up at times. I don't talk about this much, but I'll tell you why I look at timelines (along with everything else). Maybe that will explain why I'm not focused on the timeline per se so much as trying to discern meaning from it. I've felt my entire life that I have a role to play in what's coming. One priest I talked to about it said it sounded similar to his calling to the priesthood, but with a different aim. (And yes, I've been told many times that I should get a spiritual director, but none ever seem to be available...I figure God will send me a volunteer if I really need it.) It would take too long to explain any more, so just take that at face value. The problem is, I have no clue exactly what this task might be. I'm also a Benedictine Oblate, so I've sworn a vow of obedience to the Will of God. In order to fulfill that vow and accomplish whatever task is at hand, I feel a powerful need to try and discern God's Will - both for today and the immediate future. That feeling has grown over the past few years. (And, of course, I could be wrong about all of this.)

So please don't think that I'm trying to adhere to a fixed timeline. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I'm not trying to set a timeline for the sake of a timeline, or to determine a specific date so that I'll have extra knowledge that no one else has. I'm doing it for the very selfish reason of trying to figure out my part in this enormous play. (Some days, I figure I'm something like the ant under Hamlet's boot.)

  24. Dear Michael Patrick,
I applaud and want to thank all who have prayed and worked hard toward the unification of Christ's Church. If Russian Patriarch Kirill agrees on Friday in Cuba to celebrate Easter on the same day as the other three major Orthodox churches, our Eternal Father will receive a unified offering of all our hearts along with Christ's body and blood. This is truly a gift from the Holy Spirit for a house not divided will stand. With rosary in hand I join you in prayer and thanksgiving for what God is revealing to us.

In addition to the consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus I recommend the consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We used Fr. Michael Gaitley's "33 Days to Morning Glory", which is available in English and Spanish. Father has a new book coming out on Divine Mercy, but I haven't seen it yet. He recommends doing the consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Divine Mercy and then the consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

For the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world,
    Mary Ellen

I believe the Divine Mercy book is out. Unless its one he already had out on Divine Mercy.
It is beautiful that we may have a unification in the Year of Mercy - or next year 2017 -- and the Pope going to Fatima in 2017 (I'm not sure when he going though).
Mary Ellen -- feel free to send me an email. Jmichaelpatrick@gmail.com (or anyone else for that matter). We are all in this together. It would be nice to keep in touch and correspond over the coming months. We seem to be on the exact same page.
Mark W I think searching for a timeline is not so bad -- part of what all of us is trying to do in our own lives is to see God's hand. And since we are living in a time unlike any other -- its not so crazy or wrong to try and see how He is moving and how things might happen - I obviously do the same -- I just try and remember as well that He can always alter things - its HIS time and we have a large hand in it with whether or not we pray. He loves us and hears His children. But we need to call upon Him and seek His mercy. A lot of things are up to us and our response to His movements and graces.

Even then, hours after the morning’s consecration ceremony, the Pope acknowledged in a pub
lic prayer to Our Lady of Fatima THAT THE CONSECRATION which She had asked for IS ET TO BE DONE. In his prayer, he drew Her attention once again to this certain group of peoples (the peoples of Russia) that has
a special need of being consecrated
“for whom You Yourself await our act of consecration and of entrustment.”
Our Lady only asked for a Consecration of Russia, because at Fatima She never asked for a
consecration of the world. The latter was asked through Blessed Alessandrina Maria da Costa and the
Portuguese bishops and followed another path. Therefore, that of 1984 was not a proper Consecration of
Russia. I WAS THERE , kneeling just a couple of meters ahead of the Holy Father, and mentally to myself I
said the words to consecrate Russia.
If Our Lady wants, then Our Lady will go to Moscow! Our Lady is able to reach every place in
the world and She will go to Russia as well, the country that spread the worst error of the last century
(and of our century too): Communism! Our Lady predicted it! If Russia will not be consecrated to Her
Immaculate Heart, that nation would spread its errors all over the world, and in fact atheist communism
did spread all over the world, because we didn’t do what Our Lady...............

  30. Rick N - It is the coming of the Antichrist that will lead to another falling away from the faith after the restoration of the Church. It's all in the secrets of La Salette:

"Then, after [that], a great peace will come, but it will not last a long time. A monster will come to disturb it." (Our Lady to Maximin Giraud)

"A great king will go up on the throne, and will reign many years. Religion will re-flourish and spread all over the world, and there will be a great abundance. The world, glad to be lacking nothing, will fall again into disorder, will give up God, and will return to its criminal passions." (Our Lady to Melanie Calvat)

  35. I feel like 2017 is going to be a very important year; though I know the general consensus is that the 100 years that Pope Leo XIII saw in his vision where Satan has greater control over the destiny of mankind through his influence on individual was the 20th century, so from 1901 to 2000, I have my own pet theory that the hundred years started in 1917 immediately after the last appearance of Our Lady at Fatima because of the events in Russia and Mexico that occurred almost immediately afterward.

Paired with this, round numbers, including dates and anniversaries, seem to have a tradition going back to the Old Testament times as being important, an example being that it was thought that the great prophets would die on the same day of the year as when they were conceived (I believe this fact was even used in the logic of when Dec. 25th was the date set by the Church as the traditional date of Our Lord's birth, and that he lived 33 years right to the day).

I might be mistaken on that as my memory isn't what it used to be, but I recall that it had some bearing on the dating of Christmas. In any case, the hundredth anniversary of Fatima just seems like such an important anniversary, including the parallels to the earlier requested consecration of France, but with the added assurance that Our Lady gave that in the end her Immaculate Heart will triumph.

I know it isn't wise to base any expectation on emotions or feelings, and I know as well Our Lord's exhortation against setting dates for many events are conditional on how we respond to His offers of grace to us through our praying of the rosary and keeping the First Saturdays devotion... but I just have such a strong feeling that the upcoming anniversary of Our Lady's last appearance at Fatima may be the beginning of this triumph, with the Church regaining it's lost unity (likely not immediately, but perhaps events in 2017 will get the ball rolling on that), with the Marian era of peace to follow.

And to Mark L., though I don't necessarily agree fully that the Marian age of peace is overnow, I always love reading your comments... I'm not claiming that I have the gift of discernment necessarily, but the thing you write feel very true to me when I read them; I always look very forward to your comments! And thank you as well to the links to Emmett's previous blog postin on La Salette. I've gone through many of Emmett's old postings, but somehow managed to miss this one, which really put certain events that have happened and some that are expected to come in a clearer light, so, again, thank you Mark L.

I've never had such a feeling before... maybe I've just been reading too much of people's writings with similar expectations, but I believe I had felt this even prior to encountering similar people's views. In fact, I'm almost sure of that because I remember talking about planning a trip to Fatima for the hundredth anniversary with my spouse (then my girlfriend) back in 2007 already, and that early on I felt like 2017 would contain a watershed moment. I'm also a little concerned that Satan will pull out all the stops and try to cause as much war and choas before his time is up on the anniversary date of Fatima if my hunch about when his hundred years actually ends.

Anyways, I really enjoyed this latest blog post,

  36. I'm near sure that the paperback and e book versions will be published by March Cetera. It will be a few weeks after that before I can get the Kindle edition ready. The reason it's taken so long is because it is now effectively two books rolled into one. I was originally writing a sequel and trying to do a revised edition of the original at the same time. But since there was so many areas of overlap, I decided it would probably be best just to combine both together. So it's not really just any old second edition with a few minor additions thrown in here and there. It is a complete overhaul of the original text together with over 100,000 words of new material. To put that in context, the original version was just over 120,000 words. So it has effectively doubled in length.

You state: ‘Our Lady of Fatima did not come primarily to convert Russia to Catholicism. Russia was Orthodox for hundreds of years before 1917 and yet Our Lady did not appear once in all those years of schism. If converting Russia to Catholicism’was her primary mission, then why not appear in the year of the Great Schism? ‘

This flies in the face of Fr. Alonso’s statement re this issue. He was the top Fatima expert of the 20th Century interviewing Lucy wrote in 1976: "... we should affirm that Lucia always thought that the 'conversion' of Russia is not to be limited to the return of the Russian People to the Orthodox Christian religions, rejecting the Marxist atheism of the Soviets, but rather, it refers purely, plainly and simply to the total, integral conversion of Russia to the one true Church of Christ, the Catholic Church."

So Our Lady appears to three catholic kids and asks Lucy to have Russia converted by means of five first Saturdays devotion; to pray the rosary daily; to consecrate Russia with ALL the bishops of the church so that they can convert back to orthodoxy?? Even though they are STILL considered schismatic by church teaching? Why didn't Mary appear to the Orthodox instead and ask THEM her requests?

  38. Good question Anonymous

My personal guess is that Our Lady of Fatima also has something to do with the conversion of the Muslims. Fatima was the name of a Muslim women living in Portugal centuries ago who converted to Christianity. Fatima is the name of the favorite (?) daughter of Mohammed. The Muslims have a great devotion to Mary and are noted for visiting Mary's house in Ephesus in Turkey to honor her. If you're following the daily news, the Russians are in Syria fighting the Syrian rebels. Russian certainly has ties with the Muslims. The whole situation in the Middle East is too convoluted for me to even understand, but there is a connection of Fatima to both the Russians and the Muslims. You can also search the internet for articles related to the ever growing fear that Russia is going to invade Europe which, by the way, is another prophecy of the end times. Russia is going to be the key to perpetuating unrest in the years to come imho.

I agree there is something a brewing with Russia and Europe. A spark to ignite is all it would take. Let's hope in Our Lady's role in Fatima and the Muslim connection succeeds. I can't imagine the carnage in today's world with a larger scale Lepanto conflagration ensuing. Our Lady stated that Russia would be used as the instrument of chastisement if her requests are not granted. Serious words there! It would appear that Russia was never consecrated according to her request as Russia has spread her errors etc.

I am also like Mark W's timeline scenario for 2017. Interesting.

  40. The Church speaking in an official capacity via the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith Cardinal Ratzinger and his Secretary Archbishop Bertone have stated that the Consecration was done. The conspiracy theorists thought that this Consecration was going to have some magical, instantaneous effect on Russia and the world. They view it as some sort of political weapon with which to bend the will of Russia and instantaneously usher in the Era of Peace. When these results failed to materialize as they envisioned they reasoned that the Consecration must not have been done and the Church authorities must be engaged in a sinister plot. This is an example of circular reasoning and it has not only resulted in unjust attacks on good men like Bertone and ridiculous inventions like "two Lucys" to sustain the circular reasoning, but it has also led to an irrational and dangerous demonization of Putin and Russia.

The Eastern Schism dates to the 15th Century. Our Lady of Fatima did not appear in the 15th Century. She appeared in 1917, the year that Russia abandoned Orthodoxy for Atheism. Our Lady came primarily to save Russia from Atheism. She came to save Russia from Apostasy for Apostasy is a greater crime than Schism. Our Orthodox brothers, although in a state of Schism, are still spiritually closer to the Catholic Church than our Protestant and Jewish brothers and sisters. But the devil is doing his best to drive a wedge between genuine Catholic-Orthodox reconciliation, vis-a-vis the Ukrainian situation.

Patriarch Kirill has rightly condemned the ongoing genocide being committed by the Western-backed Poroshenko. It was not Mr. Putin who orgianzed the violent Maidan coup and then proceeded to launch a full-scale unjust war against the civilian populations of the Donbass. Thank God Putin intervened in Crimea, for if he had not, the civilians in Crimea would have been butchered by Poroshenko in the same way the civilians of the Donbass are being butchered by Poroshenko. Where are the Catholic voices in Ukraine standing up to the war criminal Poroshenko and the bunch of thugs who are currently occupying Kiev?

I think that the Devil really wanted Putin to overreact to the violent Western coup in Ukraine. Thankfully, Putin understands that there are no winners in any war, and so Putin is prepared to take Western punishment via sanctions and character assassination if it means that he can avoid a war. Putin was an intelligence officer of the highest order and understands the chess game that is being played. It must infuriate Western warmongers to no end that Putin consistently refuses to take their bait. It just worries me that if Kiev is willing to shoot down a civilian airliner and blame it on Putin in the hopes of a wider conflict, then they are willing to do anything. It worries me that Kiev will get desperate the longer Putin refuses their advances, and might resort to provocations far more reckless than MH17 in the future. If the West okays Saudi and Turkish ground troops in Syria, then I fear that we truly will be on the cusp of a world war and truly on the doorstep of the chastisement prophesied at Fatima. Only this time the West will be on the wrong side of history and Russia will be the instrument of Divine Justice, the instrument of Divine Vengeance for the thousands of Christian martyrs that have been butchered in Syria and the Levant at the hands of the West's Islamic proxy armies.

ONE MORE TIME! The Russians Are Everywhere

The Russians are continuing to come into the country under a bilateral agreement with FEMA, they are here and they have been here for a long time .The extra-constitutional “agreements”(that means illegal agreements), between Russia and FEMA were inked late last spring in Washington, D.C., at the fourth annual meeting of the illegally created “U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission Working Group on Emergency Situations.” (if I say it twice, maybe somebody will take notice). This extra-governmental organization, formed under the Obama administration, is one of almost two dozen similar “working groups” bringing together top U.S. and Russian officials. These two bodies are cooperating on everything from the drug war and agriculture to terror, science, “rule of law” (could that be code for martial law?), health, environment, energy, nuclear issues, education, culture, media, business, arms control, and more, according to the U.S. State Department. The Senate has not ratified any of the international deals, as required by the Constitution of the United States. And as such, this is an illegal agreement. However, this is not just an illegal agreement, IT CONSTITUTES TREASON AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

The agreement called for Russian troops to engage in policing activities at American public events on American soil. And we are seeing the same thing at the Army base at Fort Carson, Colorado where Russian soldiers are training at the local base and are engaged in local policing activities.

  44. Chris,

There are few things in this life that I'm certain of, but this is one. Having worn a uniform for this country once upon a time, I can assure you that the US military would not stand down if the Russians attacked or activated some kind of clandestine sleeper unit. Even if they were ordered to stand down, there would be many that would find an excuse to get shot at so they could return fire without orders.

And there are more vets in this country than active duty personnel, and what the active duty guys miss the rest of us will clean up. I've got a bunch of Russian made ammo for my rifle. It would be kinda fitting to use it against them.

But in the real world, the odds are I'll only ever use my rifle and Russian ammo against a deer or a wild hog (and for that I greatly prefer American ammo). If you're into venison, let me know next fall.

I hope you are right.I agree with your sentiments but have begun to wonder about its reality.

Would you ever believe that priests were forbidden to say mass in the military and obeyed?
That prayers were no longer allowed at veteran funerals?

    There are many more examples.

Are you not interested in why a president would order such a test and ask that question?

    chris

    ReplyDelete
  46. That story about the priests being forbidden to say Mass is a bit more complex than you might think. It happened during the government shutdown in 2013. It basically said that "contractor" priests would not be permitted to say Mass during the government shutdown. Active duty chaplains still did. It had to do with payment. The government could still pay the active duty chaplains, but because of the shutdown they were not allowed to pay the contractors.

It's stupid, yes, but our government does stupid stuff all the time.

There's also a spectrum of liberalism-to-conservatism within the military. The Army and Air Force are usually seen as the most liberal. The Navy is usually considered pretty moderate. The Coast Guard is definitely well right of center, and the Marine Corps is the most conservative. If you see stupid stuff like this happen, it's almost always Army or Air Force...not exclusively as all the branches can speak stupid fluently, but most of the time.

What question and what test ? I must have missed that. But I won't likely be surprised by anything that comes out of DC these days, presidential or otherwise.

  51. What is behind the need to follow Alex Jones? To believe Fr. Amorth instead of Sr. Lucia?

In Fr. Amorth we see someone who has dealt with the spirit world for many years. The fact that he seems to interact with demons is appealing.

    Why?

It's the draw of Gnosticism, the attraction of secret knowledge. The secular priests of this religion are the technocrats. Whether they be the Steve Jobs of the world or the Alex Jones, the common denominator is that they know something which will save us. They speak like they believe they are the Catcher in the Rye.

It's the distrust of authority. The government is collapsing and hasn't saved us so we turn to the scientists. This distrust bleeds over to the Church, whom we suspect is hiding something crucial from us. So we search for priests who seem to possess a hidden knowledge and who will confirm our fears and suspicions. Once we have one answer, however, another question or dissatisfaction suddenly rises. We fall into a whirlpool of thoughts, suspicions and fears.

It's human nature. Our ancient ancestors in this also wanted to possess forbidden knowledge. They had the ear of the Risen Savior himself, who told them flatly: "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father has fixed by His own authority" (Acts 1.7).

Not for us to know. Not our authority.

But this doesn't satisfy us, so we weave and bob our way around it, dilute it, dissolve it, reinterpret it so we can continue our quest unimpeded.

The field of eschatology is fertile ground for Gnosticism to flourish. Emmett no doubt has unswerving followers, who would accept his theories even if they contradicted Church teaching. We want to know secret things in these uncertain times, we want to possess even forbidden knowledge. If the ones being followed have weaknesses in their character, the appeal of an audience inspires them to set up shop, put up websites and begin publishing their prognostications. They take the growth of followers as a divine sign that the voices in their head are genuine, so their prophetic utterances are suddenly no longer a theological pursuit but actual locutions. A false prophet is born, and soon, a sect.

There are secular sects and spiritual sects, and they have their priests.

"Submit to the Father's authority who has told you it is not for you to know either the times or the seasons."

We cringe at that. We cannot tolerate submission to authority and cannot tolerate being forbidden from knowing things. It's in our spiritual DNA (Genesis 2.16-17).

So we seek out other scriptures which will gain us entrance. We look for a back door. We have support in that quest from the "rulers, authorities and powers of the dark world" (Ephesians 6.12) who also deny the Father's authority, who also want to know "the time" (Matthew 8.29).

Doubtless there are scriptures which do allow for eschatological theorizing, but moderation in the internet age is such a struggle! I do believe the time of trial is upon us, and it is occurring in the heart, not out there. For myself, I find that when Our Lord is able to have more of my heart, I am less interested in the curiosities of the times. Conversely, when I probe "the times and the seasons" I begin losing my peace. The presence or absence of peace is one of the surest tools for discernment.

Humility conquers the foe. It is always safer to retreat to a position of humility than seek to "probe the deep things of the enemy" (Revelation 2.24). I believe Emmett has been given a special grace so he can accomplish his theological work. This is evidenced by his balance, moderation, avoidance of dates, adherence to the Church. But we his consumers need to exercise great caution too. We don't need a constant stream from him so we can keep our candles lit. We only need the stream coming out of the side of Christ, which heals the nations, and in which we wash our robes (Revelation 7.14; Revelation 22.14).

A good psalm for this Lent: 131

    Peace,
    Mark L.

  52. Jason R.

First, thank you for your very kind words. I think they were spoken in the Spirit, as they have a personal meaning for me you couldn't have known.

Please pray for me, that I receive that precious gift for a major life decision this year.

Concerning the "Marian age of peace" you mention - I am at the back of the line when it comes to Fatima experts. I didn't think her words "a period of peace shall be given to mankind" refer to the triumph of her Immaculate Heart.

In the historical vein, I've been intrigued by the "signs in the sky" of the so-called sacred astronomy links which Mark W. has shared, along with his historical time line. This is something substantive - real events we can point to. Taken literally there don't seem to be many astronomical events which fit the criteria for "signs." We are also told that they will be largely overlooked or ignored, "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah..they did not understand until the flood came" (Matthew 24.37). I posit that many of the faithful won't take notice as long as the world at large doesn't take notice, given that they are largely programmed to take their cues from the world, seductive as it is. Our direction is not to come from the clueless, careless world "which is perverse and perishing."

Our God is the God of history: he appears to us within our history, and is known through history being written. The stars overhead, just as they were at the birth of Christ. The overnight collapse of the USSR. Worldwide abortion, worldwide redefinition of marriage. These historical facts speak clearly to us, are more sure guides than most any other, excepting Magisterial pronouncements. We want to be like the wise men, calmly reading the sky, away from the bickering of the raging city. Remember it was Abram who chose to remain in the wilderness while Lot chose to live in the cities of the plain. One ended up in need of rescuing while one became an intercessor. Today, too, I think those who remain in peace, apart, are able to become intercessors, while those choosing the noisy city often end up in quite a pinch. I speak figuratively. One can obviously live a recollected life in the city. I think we are living in times of great testing, which try our hearts. Will we respond as Jonah did, who secretly wished the fire to rain down to punish the evil doers and justify his suspicions about them, or as Abraham, who pleased God by begging him to spare that most wicked of cities, Sodom. As God told Jonah, His stake in things is far greater than ours. He even worries about the loss of animals (Jonah 4.11). I think it ought to please us greatly that God's mercy is being extended, to give us more time to intercede. This is our time for merit, may we labor hard. Rivers of grace are pouring through our times, and are being neglected. May we scoop them up! "To those who have, more will be give." (Matthew 25.29).

In all this we have to remember Our Lord's words: "It is not for you to know the times or the epochs which the Father has fixed by his own authority" (Acts 1.7). I can't dismiss this obvious call to humility and silence. If Mary wants this child of hers to act, she knows well how to communicate her desire, she doesn't need me to pour over internet boards every day - a curiosity-driven affair more often than not, which is usually ruinous to my recollection and peace.

I have a growing conviction that a gathering of sorts is taking place. But I have run out of space so will save that for another day.

    Your brother,
    Mark L.

  53. "I have a growing conviction that a gathering of sorts is taking place."

I'm beginning to sense the same thing, Mark. If you look at the state of the Church, we see sides being drawn-up, albeit quietly and without any hoopla. Tradition on one side and - what to call it? anti-tradition - on the other. BXVI vs. Frances. I'm beginning to see Frances as a catalyst in this process, whether he intends to be or not. He may well solve the Great Schism, while simultaneously forcing what Benedict said: "The Church will become smaller and start afresh, more or less from the beginning." (Faith and the Future, 2009)

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think your line of thought in regards to the appeals of "gnosis" is actually quite profound Mark L. That's why I always try to emphasize the fact that the theories which I advance here are pure speculation constructed on a intellectual basis, and that I do not have any form of "secret knowledge" that has been revealed through supernatural means. I expect that I will get it wrong on many things, I certainly wouldn't ask anyone to accept the line of reasoning I present on any given subject uncritically.

    ReplyDelete
  55. With all due respect, my perspective is that the sins of the day seem so weighty that I would expect Our Lord to act to correct us. I am not seeking secret knowledge, but am trying to use possible prophetic elements to discern "How long, O Lord?" One analogy would be like a prisoner who knows that they have a sentence, but doesn't know how long their sentence is...they feel like their release could be any day, but those in administration are mum about the release and all of the other inmates have some clues but not enough to give a release date. Our Lady of Fatima told us....in the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph. I hope it will be soon.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'll definitely keep you in my prayers for the Holy Spirit to guide you in your upcoming decision. Like Emmett, I'm very glad you brought up Gnosticism as well (again, I sense so much truth in your perspectives!).

I don't believe the heresy of Gnosticism ended with, or was exclusively at work in only organized societies like the Cathars, and along with Modernism is probably the top two flourishing heresies the world is blighted with today.

When I was in my 20s, I had a near fatal flaw in my personality for thirsting for "secret" knowledge, that drew me into a highly dangerous group of social acquaintances, and feel strongly that the sort of intellectual elitism, or attitude that "the rules are just for the commoners" that Gnosticism suggests is part of the real epidemic of people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder that psychiatric associations around the world are ringing alarm bells about. It doesn't seem a coincidence that clinical narcissism is on such a huge rise at the same time that many in the Church also claim that demonic possession or obsession are... perhaps NPD is just a secular interpretation of what is primarily a spiritual sickness?

Anyways, that was a little off-track, but back to the main point; I see a lot of potential for danger in the dubious offer of "elite" or secret knowledge on display in the copious amount of conspiracy theories that seem to have an alternative explanation for just about every historical event under the sun. And the dualism that was such an integral part of Gnosticism seems to pervade society as well today, both among believers and atheists, with an understanding (fundamentally incorrect in my mind) that good and evil are opposite forces, but of equal power, rather than evil being closer to an absence of good, an amorality that seems to rush in to fill the vacuum in a person's heart when they force God out of that place inside of them.

The lure of secret knowledge that I know I'm prone to kind of makes me stay clear of any spiritual happenings or events until they are officially decided upon by the Church; I'm afraid that I might, as you alluded to, get so emotionally intertwined with a particular movement that if the Church proclaimed it later as being false, I might not have the wisdom to abandon my devotion as easily as I should. I'm not saying anyone else should follow my example by any means, but knowing this is a weakness in myself makes me take guard.

    ReplyDelete
  57. p.s. Also Mark L., thank you for suggesting a distinction between the Triumph of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart and the period of peace; I hadn't considered before that they weren't one-in-the-same, but that perspective clears up a lot of confusion in me about what we've seen play out vis-a-vis Russia since the 19864 Consecration.

  59. Emmett, I can't wait for your book. I've been sorely tempted to pick up the old one on my kindle several times today, but I'm just going to wait.

Anyway, I was digging through your website looking for references to Rev 20:4, and I'm not finding a lot. I've been reading up on Islam from Robert Spencer and from Walid Shoebat.

    Rev 20:4:
Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

It occurs to me that there isn't much in the way of beheading going on anywhere in the world anymore, except for muslims killing Christians and Jews and a few other non-muslim faiths. There are lots and lots of beheadings of Christians currently going on in the Middle East right now, thanks to ISIS.

Rev 20:8-10 then seem to continue, right into the battle of Armageddon, referencing the Beast and the False Prophet.

Then I found this site, while looking for some other references for my little brother:
    http://www.answering-islam.org/Authors/JR/Future/

He does a direct A/B comparison of the Islamic Mahdi to the Biblical Anti-Christ, and does a reasonably thorough analysis of Islam's end-times prophecies being fairly similar to Christianity's, but from the opposite side.

I'm curious if you have any insight into any of that, or have done much research on how Islam plays out in the end times. I don't recall any from my previous couple of read-throughs of the original book, nor from my haphazard reading of your blog here. It seems very plausible to me that the Beast and the False Prophet may be related to Islam in the end-times.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yeah, I would definitely just leave it for a while until the new version comes out Cetera. I do think Islam has some role to play in future events, and that the battle of Armageddon will involve Muslims in a major way. I purposefully don't attempt to delve too deeply into constructing a timeframe of future events beyond what can be clearly determined from Scripture and approved private revelations. The fact that Islam isn't mentioned or alluded to that much in either of these sources doesn't give me much to go on. I think Russia remains the greatest danger to the Church though, and this is why Our Lady of Fatima came to warn us that this nation will be the instrument of God's chastisement. Personally, I think the battle of Armageddon will involve a Russian takeover of Europe on one side, with the Islamic nations on the other, and the Church will be caught in the midst of the ensuing conflagration.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Emmett - That makes senses, especially given your ideas about the U.S. being taken out of the picture by economic and natural disasters. Russia would have a free hand to do whatever they wanted if NATO were stripped of American troops.

  62. Emmett;

will you, if time permits, express some ideas on the usa destrtuction/loss of influence idea of yours please?

I will go against those who are at rest, that live securely, all of them living without walls and having no bars or gates, 12to capture spoil and....

that israel will be a place of unwalled villages and a place of peace......

So we might suggest that what ever is coming,
and i note that there is a massive build up of saudi troups on its northern border today,
that israel will exit the other side of it in good shape.

I personaly think they will expand their borders to almost the greater israel boundrys.
This will allow for the biblicaly predicted return to israel of all jews in the world.

  63. Cetera,

I had been wondering those same things after getting back from a trip to Toronto earlier in the month and our cab diver (a Muslim, I assumed Syrian but maybe not) said that the Mahdi and Esa would kill their version of the antichrist (Masih ad-Dajjal) just north of present day Aleppo according to the Koran; with Aleppo being *the* major hotspot in global conflict right now, this made me prick up my ears.

Apparently many ISIS fighters believe the West with gather a great army at this spot ust north of Aleppo which will outnumber them many times over, but the Mahdi and Isa will lead the Islamic warriros to victory, with Isa (the Islamic Jesus) going to far as to kill the antichrist-type figure with his spear.

    From Wikipedia:
"It was narrated that Abu Bakr Siddiq said: "The Messenger of Allah (ï·º) told us: 'Dajjal will emerge in a land in the east called Khorasan, and will be followed by people with faces like hammered shields.'"[8] and will travel the whole world preaching his falsehood, but will be unable to enter Mecca and Medina.[4] Isa (Jesus) will return and the Dajjal will gather an army of 70,000 from Isfahan, of those he has deceived and lead them in a war against Jesus who shall be accompanied by an army of the righteous, along with Imam Mahdi.
    Sunni

Sunni Muslims believe that Isa (Jesus) will descend on Mount Afeeq, on the white Eastern Minaret of Damascus. He will descend from the heavens with his hands resting on the shoulders of two angels.[9] His cheeks will be flat and his hair straight. When he lowers his head it will seem as if water is flowing from his hair, when he raises his head, it will appear as though his hair is beaded with silvery pearls.[10] He will descend during Fajr (sunrise) and the leader of the Muslims will address him thus, "O' Prophet of God, lead the prayer." Isa will decline with the words, "The virtue of this nation that follows Islam is that they lead each other." Implying that he will pray behind the imam (the man that leads the prayings (Mahdi)) as the word of God was completed after revelation of Qur'an and Muhammad being the last prophet of God.[10]

After the prayer, Isa will prepare himself to do battle and shall take up a sword. An army shall return from a campaign launched before the arrival of Isa. Isa shall set out in pursuit of Dajjal. All those who embraced the evil of Dajjal shall perish even as the breath of Isa touches them. The breath of Isa shall precede him as far as the eye can see. Dajjal will be captured at the gate of Lod. Dajjal shall begin to melt, as salt dissolves in water. The spear of Isa shall plunge into Dajjal’s chest, ending his dreaded reign.[11][12] The followers of Dajjal will be rooted out, for even the trees and rocks will speak out against them. Isa will break the cross and kill the pig (the animal). Then all battles shall cease and the world will know an age of peace. The rule of Isa will be just and all shall flock to him to enter the folds of the one true religion, Islam."

I have nothing much really to go on the support my guess, but I wwonder; could this Islamic version of the antichrist,Masih ad-Dajjal, might actually be the Great Monarch or the Holy Shepherd? Just something to maybe keep an eye on...

  64. Emmett, and others:
First of all, I cannot wait to get your new book Emmett. Prophesy and all the Marian Apparitions, fascinates me, but unfortunately, I get so confused on some of the basic information that you give us concerning the Unveiling of the Apocalypse. I feel that if I could understand the information down below, that it would allow me to understand your book more clearly. I will leave my questions on the next post since I am out of room.

As Emmett showed in the Blog that she wrote Amillennialism and the Chronology of Catholic Eschatology. According to the amillennial view outlaid by St. Augustine, the chronology of end time events can be summed up as follows:

1)The binding of Satan for the "thousand years" takes place during the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ.

2)At the end of the "thousand years" - which is most likely a reference to the concept of the Sabbath Millennium, Satan is once again unbound for a "little while".

3)Satan can once again prevent the spread of the Gospel during this "little while", by gathering the armies of the world together for battle, and because of this increase of lawlessness, the love of many grows cold (Matt 24:12).

4)At the end of the "little while", Satan is finally thrown out of the heavenly court and cast down to the earth by the Archangel Michael - a struggle which is marked by the appearance of the "signs in heaven".

5)Once he is cast down to the earth, the Devil then redoubles his efforts against the Church, and threatens to carry it away with a flood that issues from his mouth.

6)The earth then comes to the aid of the Woman/Church, and the flood is swallowed up during the New Springtime of the Church, brought about by the Two Witnesses. Millions are brought into the faith. A short period of peace ensues.

7)The Dragon then transfers his great power and authority to his servant the Antichrist, who puts the Two Witnesses to death. The fall of the end time empire referred to as "Babylon" is brought about by a "huge mountain, burning with fire" being thrown into the sea, and a subsequent global financial collapses allows the Antichrist to seize global dominion.

8)The final Passover of the Church takes place, which was foreseen in the Third Secret of Fatima, and many Christians are either martyred or apostatize as a result.

9)The Battle of Armageddon then breaks out after an attempted invasion of Israel, leading to the total collapse of human civilization.

10)The dissolution of the universe occurs at the Last Judgment, and the establishment of the new heaven and earth brings God's plan for creation to it ultimate conclusion.

    Thanks, Rick N

  65. Please forgive me of my ignorance. A Time Line of Approx. dates for me would be nice to understand, if #1-#10 is in Chronological order. I understand nothing is remotely exact, but it would help me to understand this. Do you cover all that is below fully in your book?

#1 Does not make sense, from death to resurrection is 3 days not a thousand years. (Maybe a timeline would help with all this. Are you talking about Kairos time?
#2 I don't understand this either. What does a Sabath Millennium mean? How much time is a little while? A Sabath Millenium means 1000 years to me. That is more than a little while.
#3 Is that not happening now. A timeline would be nice to understand.
#4 I thought he was thrown out thousands of years ago with other angels
#5 would you say that #5 and #6 will happen almost at the same time?
#6 Is the period of piece what Lucia was talking about in Fatima with the consecration, or are we talking about when others suspect when the Virgin comes to our aid?
#7 Are there any Prophecy relating to which country is Babylon
#8 The Passover of the church means to me, that the only way that there could be a period of peace, is that all evil is extinguished (perhaps like the 3 nights of terror that has been written about). Some people believe that it was Padre Pio that talked about it, but I had heard it was someone else. I understand as to what you are saying here, but I am just confused as to the definition of The Passover of the church.
#9 so does a tribulation happen after right after this or does Amillennialism does not believe in a Tribulation.
#10 Is this where God separates the shepherds from the goats.
    Thanks, RickN

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yes Rick, all of these issues are dealt with more clearly in the new book.
#1 St. Augustine stated that the "thousand years" either symbolised the age of the Church, or referred to the Sabbath Millennium. Also, keep in mind that "a thousand years is as a day to the Lord" - so there is also an element of this which could suggest that the general resurrection of the dead would take place during the "third day" - or the third millennium.
#2 The Sabbath Millennium is a concept that was first proposed by the Early Church Fathers, in which they believed that all of biblical history was comprised of a week of millennia, and that Christ would return during the "seventh day". St. Augustine believed that the end of the Sabbath Millennium was related to the unbinding of Satan.
#3 I argue that the period we are in now is when Satan is threatening to sweep the Church away with the flood that issues from his mouth, after he has been cast down to earth by the Archangel Michael.
#4 Yes, there was a primordial fall of Satan, but this is different from his eschatological expulsion from heaven at the end time. After his fall from grace, Satan was still permitted to stand before the Throne of God in order to accuse humanity (e.g. in the case of Job). Towards the end of time, at the end of his "little while", he is ejected from heaven and thrown down to the earth, which is marked by the appearance of the "signs in heaven".
    #6 A bit of both
    #7 I would argue America
#8 The final Passover of the Church is the persecution of Christians under the Antichrist, after which the Second Coming takes place.
#9 The tribulation is the unbinding of Satan and the final persecution of Christians under the Antichrist.
#10 That happens during the general resurrection of the dead at the end of history.

  67. Scott Hahn makes the case that Jerusalem is Babylon here:

    http://www.defendingthebride.com/ch/whore2.html

I would like to see those 11 points, being biblically based as they are, defended by a position which argues that America is Babylon. From 'seven hills' to the 'city which killed the prophets' to the 'harlot' language to the covenant language of 'my people,' arguments such as those enumerated make it difficult for me to envision America as biblical Babylon.

Is America on seven hills? Have we a biblical history of being called "the great city?" Is the "blood of the prophets" on our hands? Do we have a lengthy biblical history of being called a "harlot," like Jerusalem repeatedly does? Are Americans the "my people" of the covenant who are called to come out of Babylon?

Classical scholarship holds Babylon as being either Rome or Jerusalem. Babylon is a city, not an entire country or continent.

I'm not really trying to put any stakes in the ground here, for me it is musing. It doesn't change how I need to convert my life and engage in the battle of our times.

Yet, no one in the prophecy arena has even raised a single red flag about the significance of this report; Iran (biblical Elam) must destroy Arabia. In Isaiah 21:9, Isaiah levels a prophetic oracle against Babylon using the same announcement in Revelation 18:1-2 and Revelation 14:8: “Babylon is fallen, is fallen”:

“The burden against Dumah” (Isaiah 21:11)
“The burden against Arabia” (Isaiah 21:13)
“All the glory of Kedar will fail” (Isaiah 21:16)

  74. 100 year old Cardinal read Fatima’s “Third Secret” – Says it “concerns “an extraordinary event” and a “manifestation of the supernatural.”

    http://www.patheos.com/blogs/mysticpost/2016/02/26/100-year-old-cardinal-read-fatimas-third-secret-says-it-concerns-an-extraordinary-event-and-a-manifestation-of-the-supernatural/

Loris Francesco Capovilla born on October 14, 1915 is an Italian Roman Catholic prelate and a cardinal. At the age of 100, he is the oldest Roman Catholic bishop from Italy and, since his elevation to the cardinalate in 2014, the oldest member of the College of Cardinals.

According to EWTN Cardinal Capovilla – commented on the Third Secret of Fatima saying: “that it concerned “an extraordinary event,” a “manifestation of the supernatural.”

    EWTN writes:

In October 1997 both Cardinal Ratzinger and Archbishop Capovilla publicly denied suggestions in the Italian press by Fr. René Laurentin and journalist Victor Messori that the Fátima Secret reflected badly on the course the Church has taken since the Second Vatican Council. In this view Pope John XXIII had not released it because it contradicted his optimistic outlook.

Providing an insight to its actual contents, Archbishop Capovilla responded that it concerned “an extraordinary event,” a “manifestation of the supernatural.”

  75. To continue the EWTN quote-

"For his part, Cardinal Ratzinger stated in an interview with a Portuguese radio station, "For those who are curious, I can offer assurance: the Virgin is not engaged in sensationalism, nor in feeding fears, or offering apocalyptic visions." The key to her message is its emphasis on prayer and penance. "She guides men toward her Son. That is what is essential."

  76. My gut tells me that Babylon the Great is NYC; it's undeniably the center of the world as far as finance (Wall St., all the private equity firms, etc.) and also world politics (the UN, World Bank, WTO, etc.) It's destruction by the mega tsunami would throw the world into such chaos that the Western world as we know it would cease to exist from one moment to another. Perhaps its destruction is preordained but Babylon is a future Mecca as the new centre of int'l finance as Chris suggests though.

    Everything is certainly interesting.

That is why the blog is worthwhile as many possibility's are brought to our attention. However the seven hills of babylon being america present an issue to me.

  78. Right, I think a sound argument for Babylon needs to include all the theology and scriptural references behind it, rather than simply be "let's think of a really evil city/country which has had worldwide influence and spreads its wickedness abroad." That seems to be how "Babylon" is generally considered in the popular mindset. No doubt due in part to how it has made its way into popular culture over the centuries. A city on seven hills is but one of many attributes we have to look at.

Take a look at this list of biblical criteria, at least 12, and let us know how anything except Rome and Jerusalem could possibly fit the description. I haven't seen any sound scholarship based on criteria such as these which varies from those two cities (which, I'm pretty sure, has had broad support among all the major theologians throughout history). And Scott Hahn is a pretty respectable scripture scholar I'd say. He certainly knows the Fathers like the back of his hand.

“Our capital shall not be Cairo, Mecca or Medina. It shall be Jerusalem with God’s will. Our chants shall be: ‘millions of martyrs will march towards Jerusalem’,” prominent cleric Safwat Hagazy said, according to the video aired by Egypt’s religious Annas TV on Tuesday.

  84. The Bible links GAZA to the coming "Apocalypse." Several years ago the world watched as all the Jews in Gaza were forcibly removed from their homes and their land ... even those buried in cemeteries were forcibly dug up from their graves and removed from Gaza. This 'uprooting' of the Jews from Gaza which the whole world watched on the news may be a much more 'significant' prophetic event than most realize ...

In the book of Zephaniah, God warns Gaza would one day be ‘forsaken' (yes, that same Gaza you have recently been watching on the world news).
Gaza is in the land which was given to the tribe of Judah (Joshua 15:1-12), and one of Messiah's titles is "The Lion of the Tribe of Judah" (Revelation 5:5).
God links the forsaking of Gaza to the coming 'Apocalypse,' which is also called 'The Day of God’s Wrath' and the 'Day of the Lord's Anger."

The usa is the engine that pushes to grant palistine state hood and divide the land. It seems this action is closer to reality and will draw God's'WRATH . Could this cause the destruction of the USA enabling russia and chins to enter the fray? ---------------IE FATIMA

  86. Thanks for the links guys, they were pretty convincing (esp. that Mark Shea one)... I'm glad you pointed me to the relevant scripture because though I'd read it before I wasn't taking a look at them vis-a-vis New York vs Jerusalem vs Mecca vs Rome vs whoever!

I guess I was looking at things like "‘Woe! Woe to you, great city, where all who had ships on the sea became rich through her wealth!" and " For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries" and "“The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages.", and I couldn't think of another city that really fit the bill in our times.

But, yes, there are too many scriptural prophecies that don't fit NYC... thinking of likely candidates where the centre of world finance may shift if the America's (and to a lesser extent parts of Europe), with the military hegemony Israel enjoys in the region, Jerusalem seems to fits all prophecies, and if it the centre of int'l finance shifted from a destroyed NYC to a re-worked Jerusalem, that makes a lot of sense.

    From SpaceWeather.com

"Earlier this month, NASA reported that near-Earth asteroid 2013 TX68 might come very close to Earth on March 5th--only 11,000 miles away. New observations provide a different answer: The 30-meter wide space rock won't reach Earth until March 8th, and when it does, it will miss our planet by a wide margin of 3 million miles."

Nevertheless I agree viz confession. Always good.

Russia confuses me because in one sense they want to invade parts of the Old USSR and protect Assad in Syria and the government is so corrupt, but not as much as China in my opinion. You also have Putin, who it seems should not be trusted. Although you could say that Russia's government does not allow same sex marriages and also looking to limit abortion in most circumstances. But on the other hand, at the same time, you have U.S. who went in to Iraq twice and always meddling in the Middle East like Egypt and look what all good that has done. Tell me which country God is more pleased with at the present time, USA or Russia. But after saying all this, you could be right about Russia. But I also think we should be weary of China and N. Pope Saint Pius X spoke specifically of the need for the schismatic Orthodox to return to the Catholic Church for unity and salvation.

In the little-known 1910 Encyclical Ex Quo, Pius wrote that all work for the reunion of the schismatic Orthodox “will be in vain unless first, and above all, they [the Eastern Orthodox] hold the true and whole Catholic Faith as it has been handed down and consecrated in Holy Scripture, the tradition of the Fathers, the consent of the Church, general councils and the decrees of the Supreme Pontiffs.”

Saint Pius X prayed that God will “hasten the day when the nations of the East shall return to Catholic unity and, united to the Apostolic See, after casting away their errors, shall enter the port of everlasting salvation."3

But according to a communiqué issued on December 20, 2001 by the Vatican Information Service (VIS), that’s all changed. The VIS reports of an alleged interview with Sister Lucy by the Vatican’s Archbishop Bertone wherein, contrary to more than 7 decades of unchanging testimony, Lucy now allegedly declares “the consecration that Our Lady desired was accomplished in 1984 and was accepted by Heaven”.1....................................

  104. Vladimir Soloviev, writing at the turn of the 20th Century, prophesied, only a reunion of the Russian Orthodox with Rome would save the West during a coming conflagration the likes of which the world had never seen before.

As one commentator notes apropos Soloviev’s call for that reunification: “The most serious effect of the Russian Church’s schism (Soloviev doesn’t shy away from the term) is caesaropapism — control of the Church by the secular powers.” That is precisely the condition in which the Russian Orthodox Church finds itself today, as Vladimir Putin prepares for war: a condition of schism and subjection to the power of the State.

    An interesting character this Soloviev.

  106. Alois Irlmaier (1894 - 1959) was a very simply catholic craftsman in Bavaria (Bayern), South Germany, near to the Austrian border. One day he watched a drawn picture of Our Lady whilst waiting in the house of a client, and suddenly he saw Our Lady coming out of the picture. Since then he was a foreseer...
Irlmaier never had messages from heaven but was "just" a foreseer or visionary. That's why the Church didn't care much about his visions, because these are not strictly religious but more about what would happen in the world and to people.
But the people and the press were very interested in these visions of course (in the apostate today they would be not!), and they published many of them. This of course also attracted not so good people who defamed Irlmaier or even published wrong things in his name, so he had several battles in court and in the end retired from publicly telling his visions.

Since the moment he became a foreseer, he also "saw" water sources in the earth as a byproduct. So he became a successful well builder. Quite handy! :-)
From his countless "smaller" visions most already came true, including when he helped the police to solve thefts, murders, missing persons and things, etc.

But Irlmaier's main vision which he saw so many times that he knew every detail in the end, was a "terrible World War III" ended by an even "much more terrible Three Dark Days" coming from God, and then a huge sign in the sky in the form of a cross, visible to all people who then would know what it means and where they stand.

Since Irlmaier lived in Germany his focus was mainly Central Europe and Germany. He foresaw the movements of the Russian invaders and the main battle places. According to Irlmaier the World War III will mainly be happening in central Europe and in Germany in particular. This would be the main battlefield of the Russian attack on the West. The biggest tank battle of this World War III would happen to the right of Cologne, with another big tank battle happening in Ulm in South Germany.
This is not so different from what we know from East European renegade militaries.

According to Irlmaier the Russians would drop an atom bomb into the English Channel flooding virtually all of England (not Great Britain, "just" England), Holland, North Germany, etc.
A few times he talked also about USA, and indeed some US Generals visited him after 1945 in occupied Germany. One detail I remember is that when the Russians and "the Yellow ones" (probably Chinese) attack the USA, according to Irlmaier this would not be very successful. But due to the war the USA would lose all its military bases in the world, and hence become insignificant for the world afterwards.
After the war the remaining Europeans would be truly catholic again and good people. Also he foresaw several catholic monarchs coming to power, and the prohibition of democracy. Lovely.

To a few younger people who are now about 80 years old, Irlmaier told that they would live to see this World War III and the Three Dark Days.

When Irlmaier was about to die in 1959, three years before Vaticanum II (which Archbishop Lefebvre called the spiritual "Third World War" sometimes), Irlmaier told his adult children: "Stay catholic! For the love of God stay catholic!"

Irlmaier told a timetable in the 1950's. Not in year numbers, but in events:

    1. First there's a prosperity like never before.
    2. A lapse of faith follows, like never before.
    3. Then a corruption of morals, like never before.
    4. An incredible number of strangers flood the country (=Germany).
    5. It comes a big inflation. Paper money loses its value more and more.
    6. Then comes the revolution.
    7. Then suddenly and overnight the Russians attack the West. (Actually, Irlmaier says that Russia attacks and conquers Europe in THREE DAYS)
