The Prophecies of Marie Julie Jahenny

The renowned stigmatist and Catholic visionary Marie Julie Jahenny (1850-1941) also appears to have predicted a catastrophic flood towards the end-time. It seems that this is directly related to the various other prophecies which correspond to the Mega-tsunami threat posed by the Canary Islands:

"During this darkness the devils and the wicked will take on the most hideous shapes... red clouds like blood will move across the sky. The crash of the thunder will shake the earth and sinister lightning will streak the heavens out of season. The earth will be shaken to its foundations. The sea will rise, its roaring waves will spread over the continent..."
"The Earth will become like a vast cemetery. The bodies of the wicked and the just will cover the ground."

This particular prophecy, with its references to thunder and lightning in conjunction with the coming chastisement, shares some striking affinities with the private revelations of Bl. Elizabeth Canori-Mora:

“In terror I saw the blazing lightning bolts of Divine Justice fall about me. I saw buildings collapsing in ruins. Cities, regions and the whole world fell into chaos. One heard nothing but countless weak voices calling out for mercy. Countless people will be killed. [I saw that God was] extremely angry with those who persecute Him. His omnipotent hands were holding bolts of lightning, His face was resplendent with indignation and His gaze alone was enough to incinerate the whole world.”

As we have already discussed in the previous post Bl. Elizabeth Canori-Mora on the Martyr-Pope, the references to thunder and lightning in this context recalls the theophanic phenomena which is foretold to accompany the Second Coming of Christ. The many similarities between these two prophecies suggest that they are both describing the same event. Yet while the prophecy of Bl. Elizabeth does not openly mention that a flood is involved in the collapse of buildings in her vision, the prophecy of Marie Julie explicitly states that "The sea will rise, its roaring waves will spread over the continent...", and that this will take place after the "earth will be shaken to its foundations" - which clearly alludes to the Eschatological Earthquake, which as we have argued by examining many other prophecies, appears to be the catalyst for the "great mountain, burning with fire" being thrown into the sea, as described in Rev 8:8.
These prophecies of Marie Julie Jahenny and Bl. Elizabeth also end in a similar fashion. Marie Julie foresees that "The Earth will become like a vast cemetery. The bodies of the wicked and the just will cover the ground". While Bl. Elizabeth states that "Countless people will be killed. [I saw that God was] extremely angry with those who persecute Him. His omnipotent hands were holding bolts of lightening, His face was resplendent with indignation and His gaze alone was enough to incinerate the whole world”. This in turn recalls the prophecy of Our Lady of Akita: "It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful." (see the earlier post Our Lady of Akita and the Japanese Tsunami).
So yet again we have several private revelations describing a sequence of events which includes the signs of theophany followed by a chastisement (in many cases specifically said to be a massive flood), which in turn leads to "fire falling from the sky". These various prophecies all fit into the scenario which I present in the book - in which I suggest that the devastation wrought by the mega-tsunami event generated by the collapse of Cumbre Vieja will cause the economic and political collapse of the USA, which will bring about wider political turmoil, resulting in the rise of the Antichrist and ultimately in the battle of Armageddon itself.

Mr. O'Reagan,

The following is interesting, as it sounds a lot like what Marie Julie Jahenny describes:

Thanks for the link! That is interesting indeed...

Speaking of Akita, I find it odd that nobody (online anyway) seems to know what Sister Sasagawa is up to nowadays or if she is even alive. She was entrusted by heaven with the most ominous warning ever given to mankind. It appears some of the subsequent bishops of that diocese are not as favourable to the apparition, I wonder their reasoning for this.

I think the Church authorities generally like keeping visionaires under close wraps. Sr. Lucia rarely gave public interviews, and even when she was permitted to speak publically, this had to be first approved by her ordinary. I think the fear is ever present that some visionaries could undermine the authority of the Church, since such seers supposedly have a "direct line" to heaven. I think the Church learnt very early in its history (in cases such as the heresy of montanism) that such individuals, no matter how well intentioned, can be a threat to Church authority. So it is understandable in a way.
It is also strange that Akita so closely parallels the alleged leak of the Third Secret in the German newspaper Neues Europa in 1963: http://www.fatima.org/thirdsecret/neueseuropa.asp
It is difficult to know what to make of that, especially as that text is too long to comprise the alleged hidden text of the Third Secret. Unless it was taken from some other writings of Sr. Lucia that were not part of the secret.

Thanks Emmett. That Neues Europa article does throw a spanner in the works as parts do seem verbatim and there is the bit with cardinals opposing cardinals (which I haven't found predicted anywhere else previously).

On the plus side the same message often appears to be told to different seers so this doesn't seem an issue. For example Blessed Anna Maria Taigi and Elena Aiello both prophesied a fire falling from the sky to wipe out a large part of mankind. It seems Akita particularly with the miraculous statue lacrimations viewed by thousands was a more obvious and perhaps final warning (a great grace) of what mankind faced.

Aiello mentions that mans sinfulness is worse than at the time of the flood which was also referenced in Akita ("the chastisement will be worse than at the time of the deluge"). And there is the sign in the sky left by the Son which was also prophesied by Sr Faustina.

Also the Neues Europa faulty prediction of the great war to be waged in the second half of the 20th century wasnt made in Akita even though there was still 25 years to pass. Then there is B16s seeming endorsement, our Pontiff is a pretty sharp character.

There is a dvd "Hill of Redemption" in which Sr Sasagawa is interviewed, she seems a holy chosen soul. I can't help but feel like other great mystics and genuine visionaries that she has suffered tremendously but has done so in silence, dignity and obedience.

Have you read of the Two days/nights of darkness from this link:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/74402052/We-Are-Warned-The-Prophecies-of-Marie-Julie-Jahenny Pages 245-247

Approximately 30-40 days prior to the main event will be a prelude of 2 days of darkness, a warning if you will.

Lightning bolts blasting the Earth may be produced by solar flares, with warnings of wiring melt-downs taking down the electrical grid inspiring research into "hardening" systems above and beyond any potential EMP/Electro-Magnetic Pulse generated by combatants. "God wishes to establish in the world devotion to the Immaculate Heart," as Our Lady of the Rosary relates at Fatima, Portugal, 1917. The Archconfraternity of the Holy & Immaculate Heart can be subscribed to, with the promise of saying one "Hail, Mary" daily for sinners, the Church and the Holy Father, by sending one's name to: Notre Dame des Victoires/Archconfraternity,
6, rue des Notre Dame des Victoires, 75002, Paris, FRANCE
(as established in 1836). The triumph of the Immaculate Heart is the only means to peace. http://www.notredamedesvictoires.com/english-canonical-statutes/?lang=en
