Petrus Romanus, St. John Bosco, and the Pope of Fatima

Crucifixion of St. Peter, by Luca Giordano

There are some interesting parallels between the prophecy concerning Petrus Romanus and the vision of the pope being martyred in the Third Secret of Fatima. Although the validity of the prophetic list of popes attributed to St. Malachy is open to serious question, there is still enough accuracy involved in some of these mottoes to warrant some attention. The prophecy concerning Petrus Romanus (or "Peter the Roman") is by far the most detailed amongst the list of popes:

In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End.

Before we go any further into this subject, I would just like to highlight the fact that I'm wary of giving this prophecy too much credence. It is very much an unknown quantity. But for the sake of interesting discussion, for the time being, let's presume that it may indeed be valid, in order to explore some the wider implications of this particular verse. While the prophecy is fairly concise in nature, there is enough scriptural allusion here (as well as a certain symbolic depth) that can help to flesh out a fuller picture of the events actually being described. First off, is the fact that the prophecy alludes to the words of Jesus in John 21. The phrase "pasture his sheep" used in the verse concerning the last pope is a deliberate allusion to Christ's commission of St. Peter to look after the flock in His absence:

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep".
(John 21:15-17)

The threefold command to feed Christ's flock is juxtaposed with Peter's triple denial of Jesus before His Crucifixion. Perhaps even more importantly however, this apostolic commission to pasture the sheep is made in the immediate context of the famous prophecy of the means of the martyrdom of the very first pope:

Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.” (This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, “Follow me.”
(John 21:18-19)

So even taken separately, the words "pasture his sheep" in the prophecy of St. Malachy are loaded with meaning, and allude directly to the prophecy of the martyrdom of St. Peter. Whether the prophecy was made by St. Malachy or not, whoever it was that made this list certainly knew their theology of the end-times. This link to St. Peter is quite astute.
Another point worthy of consideration here is the fact that the martyrdom of Ss. Peter and Paul under the Emperor Nero provides the primary backdrop for narrative of the Two Witnesses being slain by the Beast that rises from the abyss in Rev 11:

"...when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them, and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified."
(Rev 11:7-8)

Scholars have long held that St. John had identified the Roman Emperor Nero with the Beast from the sea in Rev 13 by using Hebrew gematria (see the earlier post Hebrew 666?). Once transliterated from Greek into Hebrew, the name Kaiser Neron (Caesar Nero) has the numerical equivalent of 666 - an equation which was first noted by St. Irenaeus in the 2nd century AD. Given that Nero was identified with the Beast that rises from the abyss by the early Church, the preterist interpretation of the Two Witnesses of Rev 11 identifies these two figures as Ss. Peter and Paul. Tradition tells us that during the first persecution of Christians under Nero, St. Peter was crucified upside down at Vatican Hill, while St. Paul was beheaded at the site of Tre Fontane Abbey in Rome.

The Beheading of St. Paul, by Enrique Simonet

So by alluding to Christ's prophecy of the crucifixion of St. Peter in John 21, the verse relating to Petrus Romanus also highlights the significance of the relationship between the martyrdom of St. Peter and the narrative of the Two Witnesses in Rev 11. While the preterist meaning of the martyrdom of the Two Witnesses at the hands of the Beast that rises from the bottomless pit is certainly connected to the execution of Ss. Peter and Paul under the Emperor Nero (thus imbuing the text with a layer of meaning for the original audience), the Book of Revelation also makes it clear that this narrative also has an eschatological context that will only unfold towards the end of the world. The Two Witnesses are directly connected with the role of the end-time appearance of Elijah to "turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers” before "the great and awesome day of the Lord" (Mal 4:6). The author of the Apocalypse clearly adheres to the principle of cyclical history, and holds that past events are destined to repeat themselves in the future:

"What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done".
(Ecc 1:9)

For the early Christian movement, the Emperor Nero embodied the very essence of the supreme antithesis of Christ. And just as the two main pillars of Christianity in the first century AD were martyred under the Roman Emperor Nero, so too will the two greatest figures in Christianity be put to death by the Antichrist at the end-time.

The phrase "in the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church" mentioned in the prophecy of Petrus Romanus is clearly meant to indicate that Peter the Roman is the pope who will reign during the last persecution of Christians under the Antichrist - a period in salvation history which the Catechism of the Catholic Church dubs the "final Passover" of the Church:

Before Christ's second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the "mystery of iniquity" in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh... (CCC 675)

The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection... (CCC 677)

In the various footnotes concerning this final Passover of the Church mentioned in the Catechism, a number of prophecies concerning this final trial are highlighted:

"...they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name's sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives."
(Luke 21:12-19)

"If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you."
(John 15:19-20)

It is this very same final Passover of the Church, during which the Catechism teaches that the Bride of Christ "will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection", that is depicted visually in the Third Secret of Fatima:

And we saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White ‘we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.

In the third part of the Secret of Fatima, the Via Crucis of the Church is the final persecution of Christians that is still to take place under the Antichrist, who like the very first persecutor of Christians - the Emperor Nero, will put to death the two main evangelists who bring Christianity to the masses - one of whom various private revelations identify as the Angelic Pope. The Nero connection doesn't end there however. Just as the Emperor Nero famously burned Rome to the ground so that he could rebuild it again according to his own designs (pinning the blame for this conflagration on Christians), the theme of the "city in ruins" is a prominent feature of both the Third Secret and the prophecy of Petrus Romanus. In the Third Secret the "Bishop dressed in White" passes through a "big city half in ruins", making his way towards his own personal Calvary. This scenario is reflected in the prophetic list of popes, which describes the destruction of the "city with the seven hills" (i.e. Rome).
The city half in ruins in the vision of the Third Secret is highly symbolic in nature. The large cross at the top of the city clearly identifies it as Jerusalem - the place where the Lord was crucified, and the location of the martyrdom of the Two Witnesses (Rev 11:8). As such, it also symbolises the Heavenly Jerusalem - the Bride of Christ, which represents the Church as the New Israel. So the city can equally symbolise Rome, which for Catholics is none other than the New Jerusalem. The fact that this Holy City is lying half in ruins appears to represent the apostasy of a large number of the baptised members of the faith.
There could be another more literal layer to this prophecy that is still to be fulfilled in the future however, with either Rome or Jerusalem being devastated as a result of war or a major catastrophe. In my book, I outline the various prophecies of the eschatological earthquake centred in Jerusalem, which is described in the Bible as to accompanying the Second Coming of Christ. This event could very well account for the level of destruction foreseen in the Third Secret.
In the Book of Revelation, the Holy City is symbolically referred to as "Egypt" and "Sodom" at the death of the Two Witnesses - locations that were destroyed by fire coming down from heaven:

"and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified."
(Rev 11:8)

Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the LORD out of heaven. And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
(Gen 19:24-25)

Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt. There was hail and fire flashing continually in the midst of the hail, very heavy hail, such as had never been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. The hail struck down everything that was in the field in all the land of Egypt, both man and beast. And the hail struck down every plant of the field and broke every tree of the field.
(Exod 9:23-25)

By referring to the Holy City as "Sodom" and "Egypt", the Apocalypse once again highlights the penalty that will be imposed for harming the Two Witnesses:

And if anyone would harm them, fire pours from their mouth and consumes their foes. If anyone would harm them, this is how he is doomed to be killed.
(Rev 11:5)

In putting to death the Two Witnesses, the Antichrist secures his own certain destruction:

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.
(2 Thess 2:8)

The eschatological importance of Jerusalem as the location of the death of the prophets was highlighted by Jesus in the Gospels:

At that very hour some Pharisees came and said to him, “Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you.” And he said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course. Nevertheless, I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following, for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.’ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! Behold, your house is forsaken. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
(Luke 13:31-35)

The eschatological dimension to the above passage in the Gospel of Luke is apparent in the fact that Christ tells the Jews of Jerusalem that they will not see him again until they confess Him as the Messiah. The Jews will not be able to see Jesus again until they acknowledge Him as the promised Christ, and bless Him as the one "who comes in the name of the Lord". St. Peter prophesied this end-time conversion of the Jews during his sermon in Solomon's Portico after Pentecost - thus connecting it to the Second Pentecost promised at the eschatological outpouring of the Holy Spirit:

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you. And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.’
(Acts 3:19-23)

St. Peter asks the Jews of Jerusalem to repent and turn back to the Lord so that the Second Coming could take place during the "times of refreshing" (alluding to the refreshing of the Dead Sea in Ezek 47). Interestingly, St. Peter subtly connects this prophecy of the end-time conversion of the Jews with the Two Witnesses of Rev 11. First, the "restoring of all things" alludes to the role of the Elijah to come, which echoes the words of Christ in the Gospel of Matthew:

“Elijah does come, and he will restore all things".
(Matt 17:11)

Following this, St. Peter goes on to mention the prophet like Moses promised in Deut 18:15ff. The appearance of Elijah and Moses during the Transfiguration prefigures the coming of the Two Witnesses before the glorious appearance of Christ during the Parousia. And as we have already discussed in the previous post here, the Book of Revelation identifies the Two Witnesses with Moses and Elijah by the nature of their miracles (calling down fire from heaven, turning water to blood etc.).
Turning back to Jesus' statement concerning Jerusalem as the place where the prophets are killed in Luke 13, given that it is made in the immediate context of the end-time conversion of the Jews, this appears to be a deliberate link to the ministry of the Two Witnesses of Rev 11. A connection which is further strengthened by Christ's use of the metaphor concerning a hen gathering its chicks under its wings for protection. This same metaphor is used in Psalm 57:

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,
for in you my soul takes refuge;
in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge,
till the storms of destruction pass by.
I cry out to God Most High,
to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
He will send from heaven and save me;
he will put to shame him who tramples on me.
(Psalm 57:1-3)

But the theme of the protective wings it also an allusion to God bearing the Israelites out of Egypt on "eagles' wings" in Exod 19:

"You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself."
(Exod 19:4)

These are the same wings given to the Woman Adorned with the Sun to escape from the pursuit of the Dragon in Rev 12:

And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time.
(Rev 12:13-14)

These wings, which are the "healing wings" of the sun of righteousness described in Mal 4 (which mentions the ministries of Moses and Elijah back-to-back), represent the Two Witnesses themselves:

"But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the LORD of hosts.
“Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.”
(Mal 4:2-6)

Before the land is destroyed by a decree of utter destruction, in His infinite mercy God sends the Two Witnesses - the "healing wings" of the Sun of righteousness, to restore the Church from a state of apostasy.

So if the prophetic list of popes is indeed genuine prophecy, how can it fit in with the above scenario concerning the Two Witnesses? As we have already noted before in various posts throughout this blog, there is a wealth of evidence to suggest that one of the Two Witnesses is to be equated with the Angelic Pope of various private revelations, who is foretold to restore the Church just before the coming of the Antichrist. And the other of the Two Witnesses should be equated with the more mysterious figure of the Great Catholic Monarch, who according to the most widespread accounts (e.g. Pseudo-Methodius, Adso, etc.), lays down his crown at the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem before the appearance of the Antichrist. As we noted at some length in the post The Two Olive Trees of Zechariah, the roles of the Two Witnesses as High Priest (Pontifex Maximus) and the rightful heir to a lost kingdom are emphasized by the fact that they are based on Joshua and Zerubbabel in the Book of Zechariah, who are also called the two olive trees that "stand by the Lord of the whole earth.” (Zech 4:14).
Therefore if St. Malachy's prophecy of the last pope is valid, then Pope Francis would have to be equated with the Angelic Pope of private revelation - which would also identify him as one of the Two Witnesses of Rev 11. In turn, he would also have to be the pope seen in the Third Secret of Fatima, who the shepherd children seen shot to death by a group of soldiers.

In light of recent developments since the ascension to the papacy of Pope Francis, one of the major problems concerning the validity of St. Malachy's list of popes is how to reconcile this prophecy with St. John Bosco's Dream of the Two Pillars (which has a decidedly higher level of authority). If both these prophecies are genuine, then how do we make sense of them in a chronological order? In his famous dream, Don Bosco foretold that the Second Pentecost would be secured by a pope who would succeed the assassination of his immediate predecessor (see here for the full text). If this is correct, then the Second Pentecost is prophesied to be inaugurated during a papacy immediately following on from a pope who is assassinated. And if this event is yet to occur in the future, this would mean that Pope Francis simply cannot be the last pope. Given that Pope Benedict XVI was not martyred, this would infer that the prophecy of the pontiff who secures the boat to the two pillars would have to be someone who succeeds Francis. If its fulfillment still lies in the future, then St. John Bosco's Dream of the Two Pillars would therefore invalidate the prophetic list of popes.
If the current Holy Father is the pope who is martyred, then according to St. John Bosco's dream, there will be another pope to follow him who will secure the barque of St. Peter to the two pillars (the one who accomplishes the Second Pentecost). This scenario obviously rules out the authenticity of St. Malachy's prophecy of Petrus Romanus, since it explicitly states that there would be another pontiff to follow on from the "last pope". So taking both these prophecies at face value, either one of them must be false, or we should look elsewhere for an alternative explanation. Is there a way in which St. Malachy's prophecy of the "last pope" can be reconciled with Don Bosco's Dream of the Two Pillars?

As we have already discussed in the post St. John Bosco's Prophecy of the Turn of the Millennium, in his dream The March of the 200 Days, Don Bosco had prophesied that a great Marian victory during a new "Battle of Lepanto" (the event on which the Dream of the Two Pillars is based), would take place at the turn of the millennium. This would suggest that the pope of St. John Bosco's dream was Bl. John Paul II - who presided over the Great Jubilee Year in 2000. It would also imply that the Great Marian victory at the turn of the millennium was the defeat of Satan in heaven described in Rev 12, which occurs at the end of the "little while" given to the Devil - the 100 years of his greater power. This marks when Satan is finally cast down to the earth, when he transfers his power and authority to the Antichrist (possibly through some form of diabolical possession).
Following this line of interpretation, this would suggest that the pope who is assassinated in Don Bosco's Dream of the Two Pillars was John Paul I, who many conspiracy theorists believe was poisoned by "sleeper" operatives within the Vatican who were either linked to the P2 scandal or Soviet Russia (or both). If John Paul I was the pope who is assassinated in Don Bosco's dream, this would accord with the exact order of the popes in the vision, who are seen after the Second Vatican Council takes place. St. John Bosco specifically foretold that the events in the Dream of the Two Pillars would follow a Church council. If we are to follow the exact order of popes foretold in this vision, then this would also indicate that Pope John Paul II is the one in St. John Bosco's dream who secures the barque of St. Peter to the two pillars.

There comes a short lull; for a second time the Pope gathers the captains around him, while the flag-ship goes on its course. But the frightful storm returns. The Pope stands at the helm and all his energies are directed to steering the ship towards those two columns from whose summits hang many anchors and strong hooks linked to chains.
“All the enemy ships move to attack it, and they try in every way to stop it and to sink it: some with books and writings or inflammable materials, of which they are full; others with firearms, with rifles and with rams. The battle rages ever more relentlessly. The enemy prows thrust violently, but their efforts and impact prove useless. They make attempts in vain and waste all their labor and ammunition; the big ship goes safely and smoothly on its way. Sometimes it happens that, struck by formidable blows, it gets large, deep gaps in its sides; but no sooner is the harm done that a gentle breeze blows from the two columns and the cracks close up and the gaps are stopped immediately.
“Meanwhile, the guns of the assailants are blown up, the rifles and other arms and prows are broken; many ships are shattered and sink into the sea. Then, the frenzied enemies strive to fight hand to hand, with fists, with blows, with blasphemy and with curses.
“Suddenly the Pope falls gravely wounded. Immediately, those who are with him run to help him and they lift him up. A second time the Pope is struck, he falls again and dies. A shout of victory and joy rings out amongst the enemies; from their ships an unspeakable mockery arises.
“But hardly is the Pontiff dead than another takes his place. The pilots, having met together, have elected the Pope so promptly that the news of the death of the Pope coincides with the news of the election of the successor. The adversaries begin to lose courage.
“The new Pope, putting the enemy to rout and overcoming every obstacle, guides the ship right up to the two columns and comes to rest between them; he makes it fast with a light chain that hangs from the bow to an anchor of the column on which stands the Host; and with another light chain which hangs from the stern, he fastens it at the opposite end to another anchor hanging from the column on which stands the Immaculate Virgin.

Following the second meeting (which represents the Second Vatican Council) in the Dream of the Two Pillars, St. John Bosco sees a pope who is attacked and falls gravely injured. Prior to the election of Pope Francis, some commentators linked this with the assassination attempt on John Paul II (for fairly obvious reasons). This suggested that Pope Benedict XVI would be the pope who is struck by the assailants and dies. However, if we are to follow the exact sequence of the popes during and after the Second Vatican Council, the pope who is injured by the assailants would be Pope Paul VI. This injury caused by the attackers could then be linked to the changes in the Church following the council, when the "smoke of Satan" entered the Temple of God. Following an exact sequence, the pope who is struck by the assailants and dies would have to be Pope John Paul I - making Pope John Paul II the pontiff who secures the boat to the two pillars. This would thus tie in with the prophecy of the March of the 200 Days, which indicated that this victory would be won at the turn of the millennium:

It was a dark night, and men could no longer find their way back to their own countries. Suddenly a most brilliant light shone in the sky, illuminating their way as at high noon. At that moment from the Vatican came forth, as in procession, a multitude of men and women, young children, monks, nuns, and priests, and at their head was the Pope.
But a furious storm broke out, somewhat dimming that light, as if light and darkness were locked in battle. Meanwhile the long procession reached a small square littered with dead and wounded, many of whom cried for help.
The ranks of the procession thinned considerably. After a two-hundred day march, all realized that they were no longer in Rome. In dismay they swarmed about the Pontiff to protect him and minister to him in his needs.
At that moment two angels appeared, bearing a banner which they presented to the Supreme Pontiff, saying: "Take the banner of Her who battles and routs the most powerful armies on earth. Your enemies have vanished: with tears and sighs your children plead for your return."
One side of the banner bore the inscription: Regina sine labe concepta [Queen conceived without sin], and the other side read: Auxilium Christianorum [Help of Christians].
The Pontiff accepted the banner gladly, but he became distressed to see how few were his followers.
But the two angels went on: "Go now, comfort your children. Write to your brothers scattered throughout the world that men must reform their lives. This cannot be achieved unless the bread of the Divine Word is broken among the peoples. Teach children their catechism and preach detachment from earthly things. The time has come," the two angels concluded, "when the poor will evangelize the world. Priests shall be sought among those who wield the hoe, the spade, and the hammer, as David prophesied: 'God lifted the poor man from the fields to place him on the throne of His people.'"
On hearing this, the Pontiff moved on, and the ranks began to swell. Upon reaching the Holy City, the Pontiff wept at the sight of its desolate citizens, for many of them were no longer. He then entered St. Peter's and intoned the Te Deum, to which a chorus of angels responded, singing: Gloria in excelsis Deo et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis. When the song was over, all darkness vanished and a blazing sun shone. The population had declined greatly in the cities and in the countryside; the land was mangled as if by a hurricane and hailstorm, and people sought each other, deeply moved, and saying: Est Deus in Israel [There is a God in Israel].

From the start of the exile until the intoning of the Te Deum, the sun rose 200 times. All the events described covered a period of 400 days.

As Fr. Frank Klauder pointed out in an article written for SOUL magazine (Jan/Feb 1998) titled The 200 Day March: Don Bosco and the Millennium, the 400 "days" here should be interpreted as representing 400 months - which gives the symbolic figure of 33.333 years (recalling St. Louis De Montfort's 33 days of preparation for the total consecration to Mary).  The 200 "days" gives half of this - 16 and a half years. Fr. Klauder notes that the "great light" seen at the beginning of this vision is the Second Vatican Council (also the anchor point for the Dream of the Two Pillars), which closed on 8th December 1965. Calculating 16 and a half years from December 1965 brings us up to the year 1982, when Pope John Paul II performed his first consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on May 13th, following the attempt on his life the previous year. This consecration was repeated again together with the bishops of the world on May 13th 1984. The very same day, a huge fire broke out at a stockpile of naval missiles at the Severomorsk Naval Base in Russia, causing violent explosions which killed between 200-300 scientists and technicians. This event has been described as the worst Russian naval disaster since World War II. The following year, in 1985, Mikhail Gorbachev was elected Chairman of Soviet Russia. And the year after this, the Chernobyl incident took place during the last appearance of Halley's Comet in 1986, thus fulfilling the prophecy of the Wormwood Star in the Apocalypse (see the earlier post Wormwood, Chernobyl and the Hrushiv Apparitions). Soon after, the revolutions of 1989 would see the worldwide collapse of communism (which we have already noted is connected to the enacted parable of the 153 fish, since 153 x 13 = 1989).
The 33 and a third year period involved in the March of the 200 Days brings us up to the year 1999 for the fulfillment of St. John Bosco's prophecy. As Don Bosco had stated in another prophecy directly related to this event, the peace would arrive when two full moons (or a "blue moon") had shone in the "month of flowers":

Things follow too slowly upon each other, but the great Queen of Heaven is at hand; the Lord's power is Hers. Like mist She shall scatter Her enemies. She shall vest the Venerable Old Man with all his former garments. There shall yet come a violent hurricane. Iniquity is at an end, sin shall cease, and before two full moons shall have shone in the month of flowers, the rainbow of peace shall appear on the earth. The great Minister shall see the Bride of his King clothed in glory. Throughout the world a sun so bright shall shine as was never seen since the flames of the Cenacle until today, nor shall it be seen again until the end of time...

Two full moons had taken place in May in 1988, just the year before the collapse of communism. The year 1999 also seen the rare occurrence of two blue moons in one year, during January and March.
Given that St. John Bosco's prophecy of the March of the 200 Days also points to the turn of the millennium as the time of a great Marian victory and the beginning of the era of the Second Pentecost, this makes it all the more likely that the Dream of the Two Pillars refers to the exact same event, and the pope who secures the ship to the two pillars is none other than John Paul II.
Holding that John Paul I is the pope who is killed in Don Bosco's dream would also make better sense out of the secret given to Maximin by Our Lady of La Salette:

Before all that arrives, great disorders will arrive, in the Church, and everywhere. Then, after [that], our Holy Father the Pope will be persecuted. His successor will be a pontiff that nobody expects.
Then, after [that], a great peace will come, but it will not last a long time. A monster will come to disturb it.
All that I tell you here will arrive in the other century, at the latest in the year two thousand."

If the pope who is persecuted is John Paul I, then the pontiff that nobody expects would be John Paul II - who was the first non-Italian pope in over four hundred years. After the election of the pontiff that nobody expects, the "great peace" arrives "at the latest in the year two thousand" - which is the year of the Great Jubilee and the end of the 100 years of Satan's greater power, when the Great Red Dragon is cast down to the earth in Rev 12. This event, which is marked by the appearance of the Signs in Heaven (an earthquake, solar and lunar eclipses, a meteor shower and the appearance of the "sign of the Son of Man" - all of which occured at the turn of the millennium), occurs at the opening of the sixth seal of the Apocalypse. The Dream of the Two Pillars would also have some added symbolic significance here, since we have already noted how the events of 9/11 would have to be equated with the "blood, fire and columns of smoke" spoken of by both the prophet Joel and St. Peter at Pentecost, that are foretold to accompany the Signs in Heaven at the beginning of the Second Pentecost:

“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
even on my male servants and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
And I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
the sun shall be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood,
before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
(Acts 2:17-21)

(See the earlier post The Two Towers and the Sixth Seal for more details).
We have already previously discussed how the events at the turn of the millennium and the "time, times, and half a time" in the Apocalypse may be related to a decreed period of seventy years of desolation being cut short to 35 years in the post The Three Days of Darkness and the Angelic Pope, and how this may be related to the beginning of the period of the Great Apostasy - which has followed in the wake of the Second Vatican Council in 1965. This is directly related to the words of Christ during his apocalyptic discourse on Mt. Olivet:

For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
(Matt 24:21-22)

This alludes to the words of the prophet Daniel, who linked the days of the Great Tribulation being cut short for the sake of the elect to the victory of the Archangel Michael over the Dragon - when Satan would be cast down to the earth:

“At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book."
(Dan 12:1)

"Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him."
(Rev 12:7-9)

In a letter addressed to Pope Pius XII in 1940 requesting the consecration of the world and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Sr. Lucia herself had stated that the consecration is related to the days of tribulation being cut short for the sake of the elect spoken of by Christ in the Gospels:

In several intimate communications our Lord has not stopped insisting on this request, promising lately, to shorten the days of tribulation which He has determined to punish the nations for their crimes, through war, famine and several persecutions of the Holy Church and Your Holiness, if you will consecrate the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, with a special mention for Russia, and order that all the Bishops of the world do the same in union with Your Holiness.
(See here for the full text).

Given that Pope John Paul II had performed yet another consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary during the Great Jubilee Year 2000, there seems to be strong indications here that he was indeed the pope who secured the ship to the two pillars of the Eucharist and Devotion to Our Lady.
If the above line of reasoning is correct, St. John Bosco's prophecy of the two pillars thus may belong to the past, and Pope Francis may very well still be the last pope.
If we are to approach the significance of the prophetic list of popes from another more optimistic angle, then another possibility is that rather than being the last pope, the prophecy concerning Petrus Romanus is focused on highlighting the importance of this particular papacy, and there will be other validly elected popes who will follow him. Although if the Antichrist comes to world power towards the end of the pontificate of Pope Francis, I would imagine that it would be impossible to have a valid pontificate openly based in Rome. Any valid pontificates during the reign of the Antichrist would presumably have to operate underground and in exile. And if the flock are scattered upon the death of the pastor, it may prove difficult to get enough cardinal electors together to form an impromptu conclave. In all likelihood, there may be several underground conclaves, and it may be near impossible to network and ascertain who the true pope really is. During the reign of the Antichrist, it might be necessary for the Church to continue sede vacante - but as Christ promised, the gates of hell will not prevail against it (Matt 16:18).

Whatever the case may be, it does seem to be a rather striking coincidence that the pontiff specifically pinpointed by the prophetic list of popes would be one and the same as the "Worthy Shepherd" prophesied by Bl. Tomasuccio de Foligno - who like Petrus Romanus, would also be the Angelic Pope who is promised to restore the Church before the coming of the Antichrist. If (hopefully) many years from now Pope Francis dies a peaceful death, and there is yet another smoothly run conclave, then we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

Thank you, Emmett, for this great post! You really tie everything together here and have put a lot of thought into it.

In regard to John Paul, I've often thought that he is the one referred to in the Diary of St. Faustina, where Jesus tells her that "a spark will come from Poland to prepare the world for my second coming." (quoted from memory; I don't have the book handy.)

Also, this post sheds some light on something I read in the locutions.org about the papacy of Francis. (I don't know if they're authentic prophecies or not, but some aspects seem right on target.) They said that he would move the papacy to Jerusalem and die as a martyr there. Why would he move the papacy unless Rome was obliterated in some kind of nuclear attack or other serious event? So maybe things will unfold as you are suggesting here.

Very interesting! Another possible piece could be from Medjugorje, where the seers have indicated an irrefutable sign to be given during their lives- and maybe Francis too!

Indeed an interesting theory Sr. Marianne. A friend of mine has received many interior locutions and visions (which of course are to be treated in the same manner as all private revelation ) On one occasion she was shown a picture of the crossed flags of Israel and Italy. The words that came with the picture were "There will be much war in this country". Obviously,'much war' in Israel is always a possibility but Italy?? and why should these two particular flags be connected in this manner? This picture has always puzzled me but, perhaps, you have given a possible explanation.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Thanks Sr. Lorraine! You're right, this also ties into St. Faustina's prophecy of the "spark from Poland". And Bl. John Paul II canonized St. Faustina in the year 2000 as part of the Great Jubilee celebrations, instituting Divine Mercy Sunday at the same time. I'm sure he understood that performing these actions at this particular point in time was hugely symbolic. He did state that the Great Jubilee Year was the "hermeneutical key to my pontificate". Also the revolutions of 1989 that saw the collapse of communism started in Poland. I think all of this is paving the way for the restoration of the Church, through devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Thanks Paul B! The "great sign" was promised by St. Faustina and Our Lady of Akita, as well as many others. It's related to the "illumination of consciences". This event, which is still to take place in the future, is all part of the Second Pentecost. I think this began at the turn of the millennium, when Satan was cast out of heaven, and is an ongoing process which will finally culminate in the appearance of the "great sign", and the conversion of the Jews, Russia, etc. I'll be going into this some more in a future post.

Hi Mr. Emmett!

I'm a young person and I've been reading your blog for quite some time. I find all of this fascinating and interesting. I have an interest in Prophecy. I've read every post and comment on this blog! I find you have a gift for writing and being able to decipher all of this. I have a few questions, if you don't mind.

Firstly, if Pope Francis is the Angelic Pope of Prophecy, then he will crown the Great Monarch? I don't see how it's possible at this time. It just seems so unreal that we could possibly live through everything we speculate about. I do feel Pope Francis is special, I just can't quite put my finger on why. But, I can feel he will do great things. So, what do you think we could live through? Where are we at? I'm fairly young, so I'm just wondering.

Secondly, if Pope John Paul I was killed, why? I have heard about how he was killed because he wanted to reform the Curia (uh-oh), but by who, if it's even true? How do you think the gay lobby (which Pope Francis just confirmed) ties into all this?

Lastly, I just wanted to make a note about the Bishop dressed in white from the Third Secret of Fatima. I've always wondered which Pope it is, but I think it's become more clear to me now. Notice that Pope Francis wears ONLY white. No red shoes, coat of arms, etc. And notice, he always refers to himself as the Bishop of Rome! Anyway just some things I observed about it.

Thank you for answering my questions, Mr. Emmett. I know it's a lot, but I'm very curious about all this.

God bless!

Hi Hannah,

Thanks! I often wonder about the Great Monarch too. If it wasn't for the fact that he is mentioned in the Church approved prophecies of La Salette, I wouldn't put as much scope into the prophecies concerning this mysterious figure. Some of the prophecies concerning the Angelic Pope do indicate that he will crown the Great Monarch, who is based on the examples of King David, Constantine and Charlemagne.
It is very difficult to imagine how the crowning of the Great Monarch can happen in the modern day. I have toyed with the idea that he could be a highly influential political figure instead of a king. But I don't think this quite fits. My take is that like Constantine's vision of the Chi Rho in the sky leading to the conversion of the Roman Empire, this figure will be directly related somehow to the appearance of the "Great Sign" and the illumination of conscience. I don't really know how they would be connected to this, but it's the best hunch I have.
In any case, if there is going to be a major religious revival as a fruit of the Second Pentecost, it would be a lot more likely that a nation such as France would lament the errors of its ways, and seek to re-establish the monarchy.
I think that the younger generation could live through everything that is foretold in Scripture. Once we see the fruits of the Second Pentecost begin to bud forth, we will know that the Lord is at the very gates.
Most people who advance the theory that John Paul I was assassinated, believe that he was about to clean house at the Vatican bank, which was embroiled in the P2/Masonic scandal at the time. The scandal saw the mysterious deaths of several figures, such as the Vatican banker Roberto Calvi, and some of those killed were known to have been poisoned. It's worth researching...
I think the gay lobby is the "wolves in the Church" prophesied by Bl. Elizabeth Canori Mora.
There have been a few people making connections between Pope Francis and the "bishop dressed in white" - this is indeed rather striking...

Thank you so much for your thoughts, Mr. Emmett!

I was thinking, could it be possible that the Great Monarch could come if the mordern world were no more, in the sense that something could happen to our grid, losing our electricity? Also, does that fit into the purification of the Church? Like, a purification of the world, too? Scary to think about though. We live on electricity and all that. Then, it would seem to make more sense about the Great Monarch. And, indeed, what a fascinating figure he seems to be!

I have researched about Pope John Paul I and have heard about the death of Roberto Calvi. I've heard about Cardinal Villot having something to do with it, too. But remember Our Lady of Good Success? She mentioned Freemasonry in the Church. I'm just trying to understand what happened and how any of this could ever have happened. A Pope killed?!

This is a really good article to read about the apparitions:

http://www.chiesaviva.com/413%20en.pdf

Remember, when Pope Benedict said "Pray that I may not flee for fear of the WOLVES" at his Election? I see how it connects here.

I pray for Pope Francis that he will able to get the wolves out of the Church.

I'm surpirsed that you think WE will live through all that's in Scripture. What a scary thought, but amazing too! I am the younger generation and to think I will be able to see the glorious triuph of the Church!

Thanks for your time, Mr. Emmett. I appreciate it. Sorry for babbling on. I just have so many thoughts and questions!

God bless!

BTW, A second miracle has been approved by the Congregation for the causes of Saints for Bl. Pope John Paul II!

Sources say the miracle "will amaze the world".

I wonder if this is significant.

Also, if you just listen to Pope Francis preach, he is showing us what it is to be Christian. He's brining us back to the basics. I think this is wonderful considering the New Pentecost and all. What a great Pope we have!

Thank you, Mr. O'Regan. I know of no one else who is analyzing the signs of the times as you are. These posts are fascinating, but I find them a little confusing. So much of this pertains to great mysteries. You stated in another post that the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which Our Lady prophesied at Fatima, is an ongoing process and the Second Pentecost is part of that process. You also mention the possibility of the Three Days of Darkness as representing three decades, rather than three literal days. I like this interpretation very much. The dates you provided indicate that these three decades of spiritual darkness began in 1970, and concluded in 2000. What confuses me is why we have not yet seen, as of 2013, any significant spiritual changes in the world, or even in the United States. I recognize changes for the good within the Church herself, thanks to the pontificates of Bl. John Paul II and Benedict XVI. but the moral condition of American and Western culture has gotten worse since 2000, e.g., gay marriage being approved in some states, apparently with the approval of the American people; the re-election of President Obama and the progressive-liberal, radically pro-abortion stance of his administration. In the world, China remains a Communist state hostile of Catholicism, Muslim terrorists still seek to cause harm; Iran is pushing for nuclear weapons, Israel is still threatened, Putin's Russia continues to cause turmoil, etc. I guess I am asking questions that no one can really answer. When will we begin to see visible signs in the culture of the Triumph of Our Lady and the Second Pentecost? Will this "era of peace" last for some years before the rise of the Antichrist? Will the Triumph also bring about the conversion of Communist China, the Muslim and Hindu worlds, as well as the Jews, or will it only involve the healing of the Eastern schism? What about the reconciliation of all the non-Catholic denominations with the Holy See? Does that figure into the discussion? So many questions, so few answers. I guess we will all just have to wait and see how salvation history unfolds in the coming years, but I do hope to see the miracle of the Triumph of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart worldwide!

While this is a great attempt to put everything together, I note two possible missunderstandings: one is about when a century or millenium begins: it is not a purely mathematical number made by humans(like 2000). It is rather when substantial shifts occur or important events that definitely change the whole picture of world events.Clearly that is 1917-20. By 1920 one has a new period in several directions: the first is Fatima and the Russian Revolution completed by 1920.Secondly, one has to look at credible prophecies SINCE THESE OLDER ONES, AND EVEN CONTEMPORARY ONES NOW.In this regard the rise of Islam is JUST GETTING STARTED AND THE RISE OF CHINA IS JUST BEHIND IT.Third, a huge Chastisement in which 2/3ds to 3/4ths of the population of mankind is gone (cf St Padre Pio) with a change in the geography of much of the world (cf. Maria Esperanza in before her death said that "something BIG" WOULD OCCUR IN 2020, WELL, 1917-2020") WOULD FIT THE WORDS ABOUT THE JUST JUDGE COMING IN PETRUS ROMANUS.THIS WOULD INDICATE THE END OF A PERIOD OF SALVATION HISTORY, WHEN THE PAPACY WOULD CONTINUE BUT NOT IN ROME, RETURNING TO JERUSALEM WHERE IT STARTED FROM? Then there are the Secrets of Medjugorje to be taken into account. The Period of Peace promised by Fatima has obviously NOT OCCURRED.As JPII said that will occur "EITHER PEACEFULLY BY CONVERSION OF HEARTS OR WITH MUCH BLOOD". It's obvious now that the train has left the station on that one and we are getting the blood option in rising crescendo in several directions. It is still possible that Pope Francis will be able to consecrate Russia by name with the substantially whole hierarchy publicy doing it with him (ie 2/3rds-3/4th of the bishops PUBLICALLY ON THE SAME DAY WITH THEIR FLOCKS,JUST AS OUR LADY REQUESTED WHICH WILL CHANGE CONSIDERABLY THE WHOLE COURSE OF EVENTS. But is that probable? One thing is sure if this or another pope is killed (dream of St.Pius X it will be proof that O.L.of Fatima's request has not been done AS REQUESTED, and thus only limited good results followed the 1984 entrustment of the world.

What an enormous amount of gracious, generous work this thought provoking piece is. Thank you so very much. Regarding Sr. Marianne's mentioning the Holy Father "moving the papacy to Jerusalem". I wonder if, symbolically, Pope Francis is doing this in choosing not to live in the Vatican palace but rather "among the people of the Church" (as best he can) representing the early Church of Jerusalem? Also, symbolically, his taking the name of Francis and passion to return to a poor and humble Church could represent a moving of the Church toward it's roots in the poverty of Jerusalem away from the riches symbolized by Rome? I've often wished we could view Jerusalem as it's name implies (city of peace) in other words the Kingdom of God and not a geographical place at all. So much suffering would be avoided if the world could see "Jerusalem" as a holy state of being, rather than a holy place. The city is just a piece of earth, which passes. The spirit of Jerusalem is representational of the spirit of God, which is eternal. I think each day that passes, Pope Francis indicates he lives in this spirit, apart from the politics and riches of Rome. God bless and help him in what must be a true spiritual martyrdom each day.

Wow. So much to think about.
Isn't it possible that any credible prophesy could be eliminated through prayer/fasting? Eg - Russia/communism and the bomb. I think that Sr Lucia acknowledged that the 1984 consecration was accepted. A coincidence that the big accident happened in Russia and that the Berlin Wall came down without resistance after March 1984? if a nuclear war had occurred, St. Pio's prophesy probably would have been correct. A lot of Rosaries were said from Fatima to the 1980s. To study Fatima in detail is amazing.

Haven't there been prophesies about the unification of the churches again? It seems that the Anglican Communion is getting closer by a strange way - the women ordination and the gay factions are splintering away.

Prayer and fasting can hold back God's justice.

Just a thought about the great monarch. While it seems very hard to imagine how such a figure could arise today, governments can change very rapidly during tumultuous times.
A couple centuries ago, people who were used to kings and queens could hardly imagine that some day they would be obsolete. So maybe the same is true for us; something we can hardly imagine could come about in some manner permitted by God. Just a thought.

Maccabeus777 - You make some good points there.

"What confuses me is why we have not yet seen, as of 2013, any significant spiritual changes in the world, or even in the United States."

I'm going to address this in a future post. God works in mysterious ways indeed. In a nutshell, I believe that the Holy Spirit has been at work since the turn of the millennium (and the casting out of Satan), and that the fruits of this labour will only be seen in retrospect. If you want to research this for yourself, I would suggest looking into the unprecedented dreams and visions that Muslim converts have been having since the turn of the millennium, and also the example of Rabbi Kaduri. The common factor in all of this is that these events have only started to happen since 1999/2000.

Hello!

I have so much interest on heavenly messages and have read the prophecies of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima, Akita,Garabandal, lessons through Fr. Stefano Gobbi in the book "Our Lady's Beloved Sons, the Priests"; also the book entitled "AA 1025", the memoirs of communist infiltrator into the Church;prophecy of St. Malachy; "The Great Event", Jesus' messages through Mary Jane Even; "www.thewarningsecondcoming.com" Jesus' prophecies on socio-economic-medico and religious aspects through Maria Divine Mercy; and the Biblical verses specially from the Book of Revelation. Connecting all these messages, we will simply be able to know, get aware of and be prepared for the great events unfolding and very soon coming persecution, tribulation, three days darkness on humanity particularly the Catholics and the house of Israel. If one will read the www.thewarningseconcoming.com, there will no longer be speculations. The crusade prayers alone, dictated by Jesus, will save billions of souls from the false prophet and the anti-Christ.

Just need to inform all that www.warningsecondcoming.com is a scam. The Maria Divine Mercy predictions are silly and anti-Catholic. The bashing of Pope Francis and the ridiculous anti-pope rhetoric is blasphemy. This group has turned into a cult. Pray for them.

Dear Emmett, what marvelous exegesis, as always. I think you pull it all together quite magnificently! I think that the St. Malachy Prophecy does fit if we view the end of the list of Popes as marking the end of an age. I think, as mentioned before here, that 2013 marks the end of an age and the beginning of a new one, although it might take time for events to unfold before all becomes clear. I have previously recommended the book by Fr. René Thibaut,S.J. entitled La Mystérieuse prophétie des papes (Namur: Bibliothèque de la Faculté de philosophie et lettres,1951, Imprimatur: June 28, 1945, Et. Jos. Carton de Wiart. Fr. Thibaut maintains that the Prophecy of the Popes is a genuine prophecy since so often in the last 400 years the titles have accurately described a pope and his reign, too many times for it to be pure chance. Fr. Thibaut surmises that the prophecy about "Peter the Roman" does not signify a particular pope but rather Petrus Romanus symbolizes all the Roman pontiffs since St. Peter, for the Church has continually undergone persecution of some kind. Benedict XVI is De gloria olivae, the last pope on the list. Fr. Thibaut makes it clear that this does not indicate the end of the world but the end of an era. He also believes there will be other popes to follow. The reign of Pope Francis marks the beginning of a new era. I think it all fits into the other prophecies you mention, Emmett.

How lovely to read such a profound CATHOLIC statement! You get it. So, many of us, innocently, can't let go of the earth's worldliness to think beyond. Our religion is all about spirituality. It's not of this world. So, at times we mistake the words of the Bible for a literal meaning, instead of a spiritual one. Thank you Anonymous 13:58, for your beautiful words of wisdom. Any seer or message that calls the Holy Father, Pope Francis, the false prophet is not of God, and is likely a deception of the Devil! If you are a true Catholic, you would stay far away from that woman's nonsense.

I stick with what is approved by the Bishop and the Church. The Bishop is the authority in the diocese to rule on these things and Bishops have codemned Maria, recently I believe. And you still follow her? Outrageous!

MDM Anon please keep in mind with locutions/apparitions the devil will give 95-99.5% truth (far less in MDM's case) and then throw in a howler which is usually coated with honey. False visions and apparitions will also get us hooked inordinately so that we become as anon11 says "apparition worshippers". There is something about accepting false apparitions that gets us to place them with an exaggerated priority in our spiritual lives, they really become much greater than the Eternal Magisterium despite the fact we say they don't.

When you see multiple failed prophecy as in the case of MDM, Medjugorje all the way to Benny Hinn stay clear. And as Hannah said when condemned by the bishop steer very clear. Usually genuine visions are accompanied by huge public miracles as was the instances of Fatima and Akita. But miracles or more precisely "signs and wonders" which could be of the devil aren't the ultimate decider but when the message is compared to the Magisterium - what has the local bishop or even Pope ruled?; and orthodoxy and fidelity to what the Church has always taught is the prime fruit. In genuine apparitions the seers almost always have a great level of holiness as well. One of the personal fruits of getting false visionaries out of our life is the removal of a mental and spiritual fog.

Anonymous said...

I agree with you, Jamey.

First of all, obedience to the Bishop is a must! It's beyond me why any faithful Catholic would follow this woman. What the Bishop says you are to obey. Period. He is the Successor of the Apostles.

I don't believe in or follow Medjugorje. Why?

Hmmmm, lets's see here.....

"It is therefore forbidden to claim or to declare in churches and religious communities that Our Lady has appeared or will yet appear in Medjugorje." Seat of Wisdom, by Bishop Ratko Peric, 1995

You do not shine the Bishop off, for any reason, whatsoever. You obey him even if he's wrong.

I await the decision of Rome. Let us all consider how important the virtue of Obedience is and let us put it into practice, for whoever hears the Bishop hears Christ and whoever despises the Bishop despises Christ.

God bless!

Hannah, that's nice and sweet and all, but, this is a harsh period in world history.. There are many Bishops, whom are not on the side of the Pope.. Many Liberal Bishops.. There is a great battle going on.. The church will divide.. Only a small remnant will remain. Be careful with whom you follow, they might lead you off a cliff..
Many Bishops, and even Popes, shunned visionaries and seers.. St Faustina, for one.. suppressed, for years.. Then Pope JPII, comes along.. And now we have a Saint, and a Great devotion..
Just be careful, be cautious..Discern, with prayer, prayer, and more prayer..
If you believe, and the prophecy is found to be false, you will still receive the grace, for having believed.. The heart is what matters, if your heart is in the right place.. Waiting upon the Lord's return, then he will protect you.. Wisdom, knowledge, right judgement, gifts of the Holy Spirit. Not gifts from any Bishop.. Pray, Pray, Pray.. remain faithful to God, and you will be ok.. Jesus I Trust in you, Jesus I Trust in, Jesus, I Trust in you..
With love,
William
PS: I've been to Medjugorje, Our Lady is there.. Judge by it's fruit.. Confessions, conversions, vocations.. Mass said in 5 different languages every morn.. An International Mass, every night. Preceded by an International Rosary, followed by adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, or veneration of the Holy cross.. Three Hours of prayer there, every night of the week, for over 30 years.. As of June 25, the 33rd year, begins..

"The heart is what matters, if your heart is in the right place.."

What matters is Obedience to the Hierarchy and to the Majisterium of the Church. Feelings are good and all, but that doesn't determine the validity of an apparition. We all can have religious experiences, but that doesn't mean something comes from God.

And if Rome condemns Medjugorje, is it going to affect your Faith? I would hope not. Don't think the Devil can't deceive.

The Authority of the Bishop does matter, sir, even if he's the worst man on earth. It's the office he holds, being Successsor of the Apostles.

I understand that there's good fruits. That's great. It doesn't mean the apparitions are from Our Lady and are from God.

In the meantime, we shall see... We shall see....

“We belong to God, and anyone who knows God listens to us, while anyone who does not belong to God refuses to hear us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.” (1 John 4:6)

According to the prophecy of Garabandal, after Pope John XXIII there would be only three more popes, and then it will be "the end of the times." This clearly refers to the end of a specific era in the history of the Church, and can in all likelihood be identified with Ven. Bartholomew Holzhauser's fifth of seven ages until the completion of history, (seven being the number of divine perfection or completion). This fifth age, or Purgativus, extends from the Protestant revolution to our present day - a time of increasing difficulty for the Church, culminating in a great and painful purification. Hence, according to Garabandal, we embarked upon the end of the times and the time of trial and purification, with the death of Pope John Paul II.

St. John Bosco's Dream of the Two Pillars clearly relates to two different popes.Prior to the death of Bl. John Paul II it was widely believed that the pope who was struck down but survived to continue to guide the Church was the same pope who would be struck a second time, and that this time he would die. Almost immediately following his death, as the enemies of the Church celebrate their great victory, the Great Pontiff is elected who, together with the Great Monarch, (Henry V of the Cross), would restore all things in a renewed Holy Roman Empire.
We also have the vision of Pope St. Pius X who foresaw a future pope who would flee Rome (over the dead bodies of his confreres. Other Catholic prophecy relates to a pope who would flee into exile, to "a place where he is unknown" where "he will die a cruel death. Does "unknown" really mean, in effect, "unrecognised" or "unacknowledged" for who he truly is, i.e. the Vicar of Christ. If so, Jeruslaem would seem to be apposite here.

If this is so, then surely Pope Francis could be "the Bishop dressed in white" and the mountain he ascends could be, both symbolically and even literally Calvary, as the Head of the Church follows in the footsteps of the Master.

Many are amazed at the extraordinary vitality of this new pontificate, and this could well indicate that it will be of short duration. There is much to be done in so short a time. Will Pope Francis be the pope of St. Jhn Bosco's and Pope St. Pius X's visions? If so, then his martyrdom will be heralded by the enemies of the Church as their definitive and enduring victory. But then comes their overthrow, and the arrival of the Great Pontiff. As for what you consider to be the unlikelihood that France will ever again embrace a monarchy, you are seeing this from the perspective of relatively recent history and our present times. I think that is a mistake!

I have two quotes from author Wayne Weible who has covered Medjugorge for many years.

"Ratko Peric took over as Bishop of Mostar in 1993. Five years later, he told the leader of the National Medjugorje Council of Ireland that he does not believe in any apparition, including the ones that have been recognized by the Catholic Church, retired Major-General Liam Prendergast has testified from his meeting with the Bishop."
And regarding Bishop Peric's predecessor Bishop Zanic,

"then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, as Prefect of the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, reacted by removing the case dossier of Medjugorje from the Bishop, to place it with the Yugoslav Bishops in unison."

These two bishops were quite obviously prejudiced towards the Medjugorge apparitions and Cardinal Ratzinger acted accordingly.

Keeping our eyes on the Magisterium and not on any individual bishop will help us to steer a straight course in these trying times.

God bless,
Pat K.

Emmett, very thoughtful post. Thank you. I have chewed on the prophesy of St. Malachi and tried to fit it into the other prophesies given by Don Bosco and others (Canori -Mora, Taigi, and Emmerich, to name a few). Your thoughts seem to include a confidence that the consecration of Russia was fulfilled as requested by Our Lady. There are others who make very credible arguments that the consecration was not completed per Our Lady's request, such as Father Kramer and Father Gruner in various books they have written. In addition, Antonio Socci's book, "The Fourth Secret of Fatima" makes a very plausible argument that the entire fourth secret has not been released by Rome. Sr. Lucia's Fourth memoir includes the words "In Portugal the dogma of the faith will always be preserved, etc." which seems to indicate that there is a portion of the Third Secret that has not been released. We may not have the entire picture here.

Sr. Elena Aiello had a vision of the Pope fleeing Rome to die in exile, while the Russian flag was flown over the Vatican. Her prophesy is very close to the vision of St. Pius X who saw one of his successors that bear is name (Guiseppe or Pius) who flees Rome over the bodies of his dead priests. It could be Francis, or it could be a future Pope. I am of the opinion, based on some of the subsequent visions of Sr. Lucy, that the year 2017 or 2023 are critical years, since I do not believe that Pope John Paul II consecrated Russia to the Immaculate Heart as requested by Our Lady.

There is much to these prophesies that are mysterious, and it is difficult to piece it all together. I am of the opinion that these events have not yet taken place, or that they have been delayed/changed due to both the sinfulness of the age and the penances of victim souls. Much of what Our Lady told Sr. Lucy at Fatima was contingent on certain events taking place. We have not seen the conversion of Russia to the Catholic Faith. Indeed, abortion is epidemic in Russia, as is divorce and other moral ills. In no way has the consecration that John Paul II made had anywhere near the effect as the consecration of Portugal that was effected by the Portugese bishops.

That said, as the world continues to devolve into a post-Christian paganism, I have hope that the certain victory of Our Lady will come in an extraordinary way. I don't always agree with your analyses, but I always come away with more information and a different insight into these prophesies.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Thanks John!
I'm not saying that Russia has already been consecrated to the Immaculate Heart as requested by Our Lady. Just that at each of the attempts at performing the consecration has been met with extraordinary graces. The consecration under Pius XII in 1942 was followed by the German defeat at Stalingrad - perhaps the major turning point in WWII. The 1984 consecration was quickly followed by the rise to power of Mikhail Gorbachev, bringing about the collapse of communism (paving the way for the future conversion of Russia). Sr. Lucia stated that this action was "accepted in heaven". The consecration in 2000 appears to be connected to the casting out of Satan from heaven at the end of his period of greater power.
Peter was conferred with the keys to heaven and hell by Christ - and it seems that these acts of consecration is how his successors exercise this authority. If Pope Francis were to consecrate Russia in the exact manner specified by Sr. Lucia, I'm sure its conversion would soon follow. Either way, we can be confident that the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary will happen, since this was promised by Our Lady. I would argue that this triumph is already at work right now (since the casting down of Satan at the turn of the millennium), but will only fully be effected in the future, with the appearance of the Great Sign and the illumination of consciences, the conversion of Russia, England, the Jews, etc. But I believe this era of conversion is imminent - when the Gospel will be preached to the ends of the earth before the Second Coming of Christ (Matt 24:14), and that the election of Pope Francis is an integral component to all of this.
I go into some detail on the "Fourth Secret" (or rather the "attachment" to the third part of the secret) in my book. I'm convinced there is something else as well.
It's interesting that you mention the year 2023 as being a date of importance - can I ask why? It's just that I've previously noticed that if you calculate 1,335 years on from the beginning of the construction of the Dome of the Rock in 688AD (which in the book I argue is part of the prophecy of the "abomination of desolation"), we are given the year 2023.

"And from the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days. Blessed is he who waits and arrives at the 1,335 days."
(Dan 12:11-12)

It seems that there could be a great blessing of some sort at this time (the appearance of the Great Sign and the conversion of the Jews?)...

Stewart Davies said...

Emmett, of course the various consecrations have been demonstrably fruitful, but they are incapable of producing the ultimate fruit, which is the conversion of Russia.
The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the period of peace promised by Our Blessed Lady will be a great triumph of the Church at the culmination of this particular period in history.

This particularly troubled era in the history of the Church began in earnest with the failure to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Had any one of successive French kings, from Louis XIV to Louis XVI complied, the diabolical French Revolution would never have occurred. It was this that ultimately spawned Bolshevism, and this same diabolical spirit established its earthly H.Q. in Moscow.
In 1982 Sr. Lucia attempted to communicate to Pope John Paul II the precise requirements for the consecration of Russia. "THe pope must choose aparticular day, and he must command all the bishops of the entire world, each in his own cathedral, and at the same time as the pope, to conduct a solemn and public act of reparation and consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary." According to some sources, this communication was removed from the diplomatic bag prior to its being dispatched to Rome.
The collegial consecration will bring about a great victory for the Churchand a time of peace under the reign ogf the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, and therefore requires the participation of the whole Church. It is nothing less than an exorcism of the diabolical evil that has spread throughout the Church and the world since 1917. Hence the necessity or the involvement of all the bishops, and by extension all the priests under each bishop's authority. Then there is, of course, the requirements made of each of us, the laity. If we want a stake in the promised era of peace, we must play our part in bringing it about. And it will, of course, right all the wrongs done since June 17 1689 when the demand was made for the consecration of the throne of France to the Sacred Heart.

It is interesting to note that Pope Francis requested the collegial consecration of his pontificate by all the Portuguese bishops to Our Lady of Fatima. Then on the Feast of Corpus Christi he led a Holy Hour from five to six p.m. in Rome, and invited all the bishops of the world to do likewise, each in his own cathedral, and at the same time as himself. It looks as though Pope Francis is subtly pointing the world's bishops in a certain direction.
It also would seem to be obvious that, if the consecration of Russia had been accomplished, the consecration of his pontificate to Our Lady of Fatima would be superfluous to requirements.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Thanks for that Stewart!

I agree. Pope Francis does look like he's gearing up to do this - we can only hope and pray. Judging by the Church hierarchy's past actions, it seems that the centenary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima in 2017 would be the most obvious choice for when this will be done. The Church likes to mark big occasions with highly symbolic actions. Perhaps the shepherd children will be canonized at the same time...

Stewart Davies said...

Thanks, Emmett. While we are advised that we should not anticipate times and dates, it would seem that Jesus Himself has given us an unmisatkable pointer to 2017. In 1931 He complained to Sr. Lucia that "His ministers" were very slow to comply with the request, or rather, the demand, for the collegial consecration of Russia, and that if they did not do it, tey would follow the King of France into misfortune. Precisely one hundred years to the day ofter the demand for the consecration of France was made, the French revolution erupted and Louis XVI was deposed, and subsequently beheaded). However, Jesus added that, "In the end, they will repent of it, and they will do it, but it will be late." If the bishop's prior "repentance" is necessary, then if the 1984 consecration by Bl. John paul II was accepted, how was the bishops' repentance manifested? It certainly wasn't by their participation in the consecration, because, as Sr. Lucia lamented, many of them attached no importance to the act.

However, how late is late? I have long held to the view that the consecration will probably only be done at a time of unprecedented global crisis, and the bishops see for themselves the horrendous consequences of their past negligence. The prophecies of Garabandal tell us that the Warning will come, "when things are at their worst" (during the tribulation of communism), and Padre Pio stated that the price of the Great Miracle will be "the blood of Europe; oceans of blood."

One further fascinating point concerning Pope Francis; he has a lifelong devotion to both Our Lady of Fatima, and to St. Joseph. On October 13th. 1917, St. Joseph appeared holding the child Jesus, who was blessing the world. That blessing portends the promised Era of Peace. St. Joseph is now the custodian of that peace of which the world stands so much in need. He will hand it to Our Blessed Lady, who will bestow upon a world that has then been readied to receive it. We are told that the victory bell will sound when the faithful conduct an act of veneration of St. Joseph. I recently wrote to the Holy Father asking if he would consider proclaiming a Year of St. Joseph for the Universal Church, possibly from March 19 2016 to March 19 2017 in readiness for the centenary of Fatima. I have no way of knowing if my letter was ever received, or if so, what the Holy Father's thoughts on this matter might be. But it is heartening, to say the least, that he chose the Feast of St. Joseph for his installation, and we now have St. Joseph included in Eucharistic Prayers II, III and IV. Again, is he subtly pointing the Church in a particular direction in this regard? Exciting times, Emmett!

And may God blee and preserve you; Stewart

Mr. Emmett,

Do you think the flooding in Lourdes has any significance? It's almost as if Our Lady is trying to say something.

"Apocalyptic" flooding.

Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent... -Rev. 12:15

Note: The Gave de Pau river burst its banks. Revelation says "the serpent spewed water like a river to overtake the woman." (Mary and the Church) Of course, Lourdes is where Our Lady appeared and she is the woman. This is the second time Lourdes has flooded, too.

Anyway, just an observation I made. Talk about living Scripture!

Your thoughts, Mr. Emmett?

God bless!

Emmett O'Regan said...

Thanks for pointing that out Hannah! I hadn't thought about that. It does seem to be significant though, doesn't it? Especially in light of recent events... I've always thought of this passage as the Devil sending forth a flood of lies, causing an apostasy that threatens to carry the Church away. So these events could symbolize this in some way.
It is noteworthy that the Devil sends forth this flood after the Woman is given the "two wings" (symbolising the Two Witnesses). The thing to remember is that after the Dragon sends forth this flood to sweep the Woman away, the earth unexpectedly helps her, and the flood is swallowed up. This represents the Second Pentecost coming after the Great Apostasy to restore the Church. So if these floods at Lourdes symbolize anything, it would have to be that the earth is about to come to the aid of the Woman Adorned with the Sun.

Just call me Emmett btw, I'm not really one for formalities...

Anonymous said...

Your welcome, Emmett. I'm just one who likes to be respectful, but I'll call you whatever you want. :)

I'm glad I did find that out. I decided to see if I could find something in Revelation since they said it was apocalyptic. Also take note of that flooding in Europe, that was the worst of it's kind in 500 years, I think. There's also flooding in Canada right now.

Also, when the Second Pentecost comes, do you think we will return to some of the ancient disciplines and traditions of the Church? Like the Pope taking up the Tiara again, more fasting in Lent, some of the pre-vatican II stuff? I don't remember if you covered this or not before.

I have a traditional way of thinking and would love to see all that come back. We see how Pope Benedict paved the way for the Latin Mass to "return". Pope St. Pius X spoke of the restoration of all things in Christ.

If a Great Monarch is coming, then surely some of our traditions would return? Wouldn't that be part of the restoration of the Church?

I know I'm changing subjects a lot! I'm just so interested in all this and really value what you have to day. I wish I could live in your mind! I admire your work. Thank you for putting so much time into this blog and the research!

God bless Emmett!

"the earth is about to come to the aid of the Woman Adorned with the Sun." I think you are right about this Emmett. Notice, how interesting that the media used the "Sun" as the excuse why Obama's speech in Berlin went so wrong. Obama was getting scorched by the sun. His energy level was low, he looked tired and worn. Even the crowd was not impressed by his words. Obama and his administration of progressive, anti-Catholic rhetoric is losing to the corrupt scandals of government. And as for the floods in Lourdes, it it rather apocalyptic. Unfortunately, the leftist government wants to close Lourdes altogether. The French are asking for the Pope's help. We need to pray for them.

Jamey said...

Heck of a lot of flooding going on, are we at the stage of Sr Elena Aiello's prophecy where she said countries will be covered by water, will it be gradual and such catastrophes increase in intensity until mankind repents which seems unlikely. In fact what is going on in western society reminds me a bit of what Nazi Germany would have been like, many of the more docile citizens would not have spoke/or wanted to speak of what was happening to innocent people. Likewise when attempting to raise topics such as abortion or partial birth abortion with people, no-one apart from the choir wants to know what is happening, see no evil hear no evil.

Hannah, that is an interesting connection you make with Rev 12:15.

"Also, when the Second Pentecost comes, do you think we will return to some of the ancient disciplines and traditions of the Church? Like the Pope taking up the Tiara again, more fasting in Lent, some of the pre-vatican II stuff? I don't remember if you covered this or not before."

Yes please. Clearing the decks of apostates and internal enemies would also be gold, give them a chance to repent otherwise excommunication. It will be a glorious day when those priests who wish to say the TLM or those parishioners who request it are no longer ridiculed or attacked from within or told it is ok but just an old form of piety.

I also feel this pope will do the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart.

Emmett O'Regan said...

I would love to see a return of the old traditions, Hannah. I believe that there will be a return of the faith to its roots during the Second Pentecost, but I don't think things will ever go completely back to the way it was before VII - there just wouldn't be enough time for such a massive amount of reform over the course of one pontificate. Both Scripture and approved private revelations tell us that the people who are ultimately responsible for establishing the Second Pentecost are directly followed by the appearance of the Antichrist. All the prophecies of the Angelic Pope and Great Monarch place their ministries directly before the arrival of the Antichrist. And in the Bible, the Two Witnesses are killed by the Beast that rises from the bottomless pit after they have finished their testimony. So once the Angelic Pope establishes Church unity and reform, after an indeterminate period passes, he will eventually be martyred under the persecution of the Antichrist.
This highlights another difficulty in holding that the pope who secures the ship to the two pillars in St. John Bosco's dream directly follows on from the pope who is killed in the Third Secret. The pope who is killed in the Third Secret is directly followed on the path to Calvary by the rest of the Church (religious, clergy, laypeople etc.). This indicates that the final Passover of the Church is to take place after the assassination of the pope of the Third Secret - which is really quite different from the "great calm" that follows on from the pope who is killed in Don Bosco's dream. So it seems even more likely that the pope who is killed in the Dream of the Two Pillars is different from the pope who is killed in the Third Secret.
Once the pope of the Third Secret is killed, it appears that the Church will be heavily persecuted and will most likely be driven underground. So I think this would rule out any papal coronations (other than with a crown of thorns). As I'll be showing in a future post, I think I can positively identify the pope of the Third Secret as the one who establishes the Second Pentecost by examining the words of the Third Secret in greater detail.

I agree, Jamie. It is time Catholics started acting like Catholics once again. It almost seems like the Culture has succeded in converting the Church and not the other way around.

The young Priests of today (and I know many of them!) love the TLM and want to say. I love the TLM. Truth will triumph in the end.

And I do, too! After seeing the whole world join him in prayer for one hour on Corpus Christi, that's when I became convinced something was up. Like, a foreshadowing of the Consecration of Russia.
We shall see...

Thank you so much, Emmett! I do hope all the tradition returns, maybe not completely, like you said. I'm attached to it. I look at how it was before Vatican II and I think "what happened?" It just seems so glorious. I want to experience it all, to see the Pope wearing the Tiara, see Catholics love the TLM, to see Laity and Clergy zealous about the Faith. I'm in my teen years and I'm a convert. I just love it all. Everything. I despise Modernism, the synthesis of all heresies, as the great Pope Pius X said. I'm just a girl trying to be a saint is all. I'm on fire for the Faith and love the Priesthood. I pray for Christ's Priests daily.

I want to see the Second Pentecost and the Triumph of the Church. Just imagine...

This is a very lively discussion. Thanks for the info, Emmett! :)

Does the Great Catholic Monarch really have to be a Monarch? Couldn't the visionaries of the past simply been putting our world into their own terms? I'm sure they wouldn't have used the term "president," even if they actually saw a vision of a president.

Though it DOES seem that Democracies and Republics inevitably collapse upon themselves. The temptation for the masses to vote according to their concupiscence rather than what's moral seems to lead democracies down a road of gradual moral decline which inevitably leads to social collapse.

So perhaps these democracies really will collapse upon themselves. But it still seems like a long stretch to say that monarchy will really return.

I first want to say, that Hannah is a miracle! There is truly hope with the youth after reading her comments. Bless you. And, well, I have some questions. The 3rd Secret was it not about John Paul II? Didn't the Virgin of Fatima save his life from the assassin's bullet? And as for the Antichrist, are we not seeing the apostasy already? In other words, the Antichrist of atheism is already here. How do we know the era of Peace will last only 25 years? We are living in the end of an era, but is this the end of the coming era of 25 years? I always thought the French Monarch arrives just before the end of the world and the Second Coming.

Anonymous,

Thank you for your lovely comment, but a miracle? Oh please! Now, I must say a Litany of Humility! :) I'm just a Catholic trying to be faithful, trying to hold on to the Faith, while clinging to tradition. But, I'm happy you have hope in the youth. There's a remnant out there...

Personally, I think Pope John Paul being shot was a foreshadowing of the Third Secret. Notice in the Third Secret the Pope was shot AND killed. The Virgin did save his life I'm sure. And, it is obvious to me we are living in the Apostasy. I believe everything Emmett says pretty much! Still trying to learn here and take it all in myself. It's so much to keep track of!

I shall pray for all the commentors at Holy Mass tomorrow. ;)

According to SSPX Bishop Bernard Fellay around half of seminarians in France and England have a strong connection to the TLM.

God Bless Hannah - that is a huge blessing to have discovered the TLM at your age.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Thanks for that fed - it's worth pondering over...

KP - Given our current situation, it is tempting to assert that the Great Monarch will really just be a political leader. But if there is going to be a major religious revival, then I think this will change things considerably. Another possibility is that the Great Monarch will be from a European monarchy that is already in existence, and that it is the Holy Roman Empire that is once again re-established by the pope. It would be quite easy for the pope to elevate a monarch to this position. I don't think that he necessarily needs to be French. Say for example a future King of England converted to Catholicism, bringing the Anglican Church back into communion with Rome, and as a reward, the pope conferred upon him the title of Holy Roman Emperor. This would be an example of how the prophecy could be fulfilled without any really major changes to society...

Anon, I do think that the assassination attempt on JPII prefigured the Third Secret - but it is not its ultimate fulfillment. The pope of the Third Secret is actually killed by his assailants, and then followed to the Cross by the rest of the faithful.
Our Lady of La Salette tells us that the era of peace will not last a long time in the Church approved version of the secrets. Melanie said that the duration of this peace would be for 25 years in the extended 1879 version of the secret, which remains unapproved.
In the oldest prophecies concerning the Great Monarch, he is directly followed by the appearance of the Antichrist. Some of the earliest commentators identified him with the "restraining force" holding back the appearance of the Antichrist in 2Thess 2:7.
We are most certainly in the age of the apostasy right now. And St. Paul tells us that it is this rebellion which leads to the appearance of the Antichrist:

"For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction..."
(2 Thess 2:3-4)

Hannah - it is really inspiring that someone so young has been drawn to the Church, despite all the adversity of the modern age! What heroism!

Jamie,

Indeed, there are great Priests out there. The young Priests I know preach the whole truth and nothing but it. They would say the TLM in a heartbeat, if only there were more around...

I'm very happy to have found the TLM. I have been many times. It's Heaven on Earth, yet there are Catholics who don't like it. The TLM is the Mass of the Saints. It's our Mass, too. Vatican II changed nothing concerning the TLM. It is time for Modernism to be driven out of the Church once and for all. Poor Pope Pius X must be rolling in his grave at the state of the Church today.

God bless you too, Jamie! :)

Emmett,

Have you ever thought of the Hapsburg Family? I think the Great Monarch may come from there. Here are so articles for your reading pleasure:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2015994/End-Royal-dynasty-Otto-von-Habsburg-laid-rest--heart-buried-crypt-85-miles-away-different-country.html

http://www.unitypublishing.com/prophecy/ARK2%20why%20Philip%20von%20Habsburg.htm

BTW, Unitypublishing is a great site. Richard Sabato owns it and he wrote a fictional book called the Ark of Apocalypse, where these articles came from.

I am trying to be heroic. Indeed there is much adversity for young people like me, nevertheless I have to be holy. In this pagan world, it makes it hard.

This is the Great Apostasy, I agree. The world is pagan. As it was in the days of Noah..

And to see the state of the Church is horrible. Large percentages of Catholics don't go to Mass, don't believe in the Real Presence of their Lord and God in the Holy Eucharist (?!?), Catholics in disobedience to the Hierarchy, Catholics who have left the Church and abandoned the One True Faith and on and on. I'm doing my best to be faithful.

How I long to see the Triumph, to see zealous Catholics and defenders of the Faith, to see heroic Bishops, to see the Pope take up the Tiara again, to see the Great Monarch.......

I pray for the Triumph...

God bless!

I don't think that Pope John Paul II was "the Bishop dressed in white" as described in the vision that accompanied the Third Secret of Fatima. Surely he is the first of two popes who are struck down in St. John Bosco's Dream of the Two Pillars. According to this prophecy, this pope gets to his feet and continues at the helm of the Barque of Peter. But then, a [second?] pope is struck and killed, at which point the enemies of the Church begin to celebrate their victory. But then a new pope is elected, (the Saintly Pontiff) and the enemies of the Church are overthrown. The Saintly Pontiff then steers the ship into calm waters and moors it (the Church) to the two pillars, one surmounted by the Eucharist and the smaller one surmounted by Mary Help of Christians. Therefore the "bishop dressed in white" is one and the same as the second pope who is struck down in the Dream of the Two Pillars.

We are given to understand that the period of peace promised by Our Lady at Fatima will approximate to the span of one generation, i.e. 25 - 30 years, which will all that is necessary for people to again become complacent and forgetful of the painful lessons learned during the Tribulation. It is most likely that the Man of Sin will be revealed at that time. His brief but terrible reign will be ended by the Great Chastisement - the purifying fire of the Holy Spirit - that will destroy the greater part of humanity. After this will dawn the Millennial Kingdom - the Kingdom of God on earth, as revealed to Luisa Piccarreta, the Little Daughter of the Divine Will. This "reign of the Divine Will among creatures" will be of unknown duration but will be "more or less prolonged". It will conclude with the return of Christ and the Last Judgement

Apparently, some believe there are no real prophecies on this Monarch. An interesting comment on www.cathinfo.com/catholioc.php/Latest-research-on-the-Great-Monarch, says the prophecy is not Catholic, but is Sibyl, that is a Roman prophetess, specifically, the Triburtine Sibyl. Is it possible that the Monarch's life as described resembles that of the Antichrist?

Emmett, regarding the 2023 date, it is approximately 100 years from the date that Our Lady appeared to Sr. Lucia at Tuy, Spain, and requested the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart. Recall the warning of Our Lord to Sr. Lucia (I am paraphrasing here) "Tell my ministers that if they do not heed my request their fate will be that of the French Monarchs". Recall that it was June 19th (I believe) of 1689 that Our Lord requested the consecration of France to His Sacred heart. Louis XIV (the Sun King), on the advice of his Jesuit confessor, did not heed the request. His successor, Louis XV also did not heed the request. Louis XVI neglected to heed the request. One hundred years to the day, June 19, 1789, the Third Estate declared itself the National Assembly and stripped the King of any legislative power. On the request of his wife, the queen, he attempted the consecration while in prison, but it was too late, and the French Revolution (and the Terror) proceeded.
Our Lord also told Sr. Lucia that they would accomplish the consecration, but that it would be late. I hope that is is not too late. My fear is that because of the tepid response of the faithful throughout the world to Our Lady's message, God is permitting the chalice of wrath to overflow, and that persecution of the Church and other evils will continue to spread throughout the world.
I did not recall the 1335 days/years that you mentioned, though I do have some recollection of you mentioning it in a previous post. It is interesting that those two dates could possibly coincide.

Hi Emmett,

What are your thoughts on the idea of circulating out there of a small interim period of peace of 25 years which would take place after the chastisements but before the rise of the antichrist?

Thanks

K.P. The "Millennial Kingdom" is NOT milennarianism;it is NOT chiliasm. It is sound Catholic doctrine founded in Sacred Scripture and Tradition. Adam received the Divine Will as gift. This possession of the Divine Will is of a vastly different order than conforming the human will to the Will of God. Therefore, our first parents were divinised beings. THis gives the full meaning to Genesis: "Let us make man in Our own image; in the image of Ourselves let Us make him. Creation is one coninuing, eternal act, and as long as Adam remained in the Divine Will, everything he did became a part of the one eternal act of God. THus does the psalmist say: "What is man that you should consider him; mortal man, that you should keep him in mind. Yet you have made him little less than a God." The precise nature of the test that Adam and Evfe failed is unknown, but in essence, it was the assertion of the infinitely inferior human will over the infinitely holy Will of God.Original Sin sent the whole of creation into a state of profound shock.
If I might use the analogy of the sun as representing the Blessed Trinity. WE were created to live on this earth in the very heart of the Trinity, and to share in the Divine Lfe in a way that was not possible for any other creature. After the Fall, using the analogy of the sun, we receive the suns warmth and light, but we are not a part of the sun; we are not at the heart of the sun fully participating in its activity.

It was God's plan for humanity, and indeed the very purpose of creation, that we should live in this divinised state in perpetuity. It is God's will that, before the conclusion of history, a representative number of our race should once again live in the Divine Will, for if this does not happen, then God's plan for humanity and all creation has failed. And God cannot fail! hence Jesus taught us to pray for the restoration of the Kingdom of God ON EARTH! "THY kingdom come; Thy will be done ON EARTH as it is in heaven" The KIngdom mentioned here is not the Kingdom of Heaven, bu the Kingdom of the DIvine Will on earth. "The recall of the creatute to the order, the place and the purpose for which it was created by God" The original order cannot be fully restored just as it was in the Garden, becuase Original Sin can never be expunged from humanity's record, but those who live in the Divine Will as Adam and Eve did before the Fall will once again share in the life of the Trinity as they did.

The theologian Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi has written some excellent and very readable books on the subject,"The Triumph of God's Kingdom in the Millennium and the End Times; A Proper Belief From The Truth In Scripture and Church Teachings" and the "Splendor of Creation"

Hannah - Yes, given that they are the descendants of the last Holy Roman Emperor, Francis II, the Hapsburgs are one of the potentials for the being the line of the Great Monarch. In fact, following the example of Zerubbabel (who is the basis for one of the Two Witnesses), then the Great Monarch would most likely be the rightful heir to a lost kingdom.

Anon, yes I'm aware that the perhaps the earliest of the Great Monarch prophecies were attributed to the Tiburtine Sibyl. However the Sibylline Oracles are of mixed authorship, and is mostly comprised of Christian and Jewish authors. The idea of a Last World Emperor entered prophetic tradition at a very early stage in Christian history, and was chiefly inspired by the life of Constantine.
Many Seventh Day Adventists identify the Great Monarch with the Antichrist. However there are references to the Great Monarch in Church-approved private revelations, such as La Salette - which means we must take this prophecy seriously:

"A great king will go up on the throne, and will reign many years. Religion will re-flourish and spread all over the world, and there will be a great abundance. The world, glad to be lacking nothing, will fall again into disorder, will give up God, and will return to its criminal passions."
(Our Lady to Melanie Calvat)

Anon 2,

When you compare all the approved private revelations side-by-side, it appears that there will be a short era of peace, just before the coming of the Antichrist. It is during this period when the Church is restored and various peoples converted. Whether it will be for exactly 25 years is harder to say, but it certainly won't be any longer than that.
In my earlier post on the Three Days of Darkness, I attempt to show how they symbolize the Great Apostasy, and that we may have already experienced this time of trial:

http://unveilingtheapocalypse.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/the-three-days-of-darkness-and-angelic.html

The prophecies of the Three Days of Darkness foretell that the Angelic Pope will come to restore the Church after this event. And the prophecies of the Angelic Pope indicate that he would be quickly followed by the Antichrist.

Emmett,

Wow! And I believe there are many Hapsburgs out there? Do you think he's here yet?

Also, on the Three Days of Darkness, what about some of the prophecies that give you specific instructions (don't go outside, get candles, etc.)? I see how it could be thirty years of Apostasy or something like that, but it just seems like it's supposed to be literally three days where 3/4 of the world is going to die. Maybe I missed something?

PS: Now, I really wish I could go find the Great Monarch! You're making me excited, Emmett!! :)

Stewart Davies,

This thread is about the Great Monarch and the Angelic Pope, not Millennialism. So I don't want to take this too far off topic. But I'm very well aware of Fr Iannuzzi's work. Every person who believes in this semi-Chiliasm refers to him as their source. Protestants go to Romans, semi-Chiliasts go to Fr Iannuzzi.

To say that his beliefs have a basis in Sacred Scripture is ridiculous. His whole belief hinges upon his interpretation of Rev 20, which the Ordinary Magisterium of the Church disagrees with.

Sacred Scripture also makes no promise of any golden age before His Second Coming. Every prophecy, both Old Testament and New Testament, which discuss the restoration of the Earth are directly related with the Coming of the Messiah.

"It was God's plan for humanity, and indeed the very purpose of creation, that we should live in this divinised state in perpetuity. It is God's will that, before the conclusion of history, a representative number of our race should once again live in the Divine Will, for if this does not happen, then God's plan for humanity and all creation has failed."
I agree that it's Gods plan that we live in this divinised state. This will occur when Christ returns, when He will restore the world to how it was supposed to be. There's nothing in scripture about humanity living in a Golden Age in union with God BEFORE the Coming of the Messiah. Everything, both OT and NT, looks forward to the Coming of the Messiah to restore all things.

1 John 3:2-3 "Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that WHEN CHRIST APPEARS WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM, for we shall see him as he is."

The "divinised state" that you refer to occurs at Christ's return, not 1,000 years beforehand.

Perhaps, the Antichrist (the Islamic Mahdi) and the 10 nation confederacy (the beast with 10 horns) of Muslim nations finally fulfill the Islamic eschatological dreams of conquering Rome, and putting "an end to the sacrifice" (Daniel). However unlikely, this would fit with the Rome being attacked, the Church being persecuted and the Pope fleeing. Maybe an Islamic Superstate, i.e., the Caliphate, ranging from the Balkans and Turkey to the Middle East to North Africa, to SE Asia, would be strong enough to attack Italy, and fulfill Muhammad's "prophecy" to conquer Rome.

Anonymous said...

Agree with Stewart Davies. Although, Fr Gobbi mentioned a time before the Second Coming and end of the world, that would bring a Eucharistic reign of importance to the world. I think we need to be very careful on how we interpret prophecies. We must remind each other that we are Catholics first and foremost. In other words, the 3 days of darkness could very well symbolize the evil of the world trying to get into our own Church, homes, and souls. And by keeping the light of goodness in and the evil out through prayer and sacraments, may very well explain the 3 days of darkness. And the 3 days, could be 3 years, decades or just a time when the Trinity would be under attack, like it is today. For those who are still waiting for the Antichrist are missing the John Bosco boat. The Antichrist lives today, yesterday, and tommorrow, until the end of the world. You can't deny the spirit of the Antichrist is not in charge today. So, who cares to know the appearance of the man of iniquity, when his spirit rules already? And as for the Habsburg's, well, these heirs helped speed up the downfall of the Soviet empire. Good monarchs are anti-communists. They have been trying to get back into European politics for some time, now. Hopefully, Baron Karl wants to bring Christianity back to the E.U. We may be concentrating on the smoke and mirrors. Our saints and our own religion are very simple and not meant to be complicated. And I think we may have missed the point a long time ago, which is to look at the lives of our saints today, and yesterday for the explanation of some of these prophecies. Fr. Aloysius Ellacuria's life can very well be the one mentioned as the French Monarch's, www.aloysius.com by Fr Kevin Manion explains why this may be so. Sometimes life trips us up, but sometimes we trip up life ourselves. Did not Christ say we should worship our religion as children? If we do, then the truth becomes simple. A Fr. Aloysius or Mother Theresa are the saint-like examples of truth unveiling before our eyes. Even our own Pope Francis understands this premise. The Book of Revelations is a story that should be told to the hearts of children. Only, then will it be revealed. It's really right in front of our eyes.

The source of the Divine Will doctrine is the writings of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, particularly the 36 - volume Book of Heaven. Luisa's beatification process moved beyond the diocesan stage in 2005. As of 2012, the moratorium remains in place, but the official English translation of her writings is still proceeding. This could hardly be expected to be the case if they were so much at odds with Scripture and Tradition.

Anonymous said...

Luisa Piccarretta's "Divine Will" is true, Davies, I agree with you here. It's the interpretation of the "golden age" before the 2nd Coming that I have my doubts. The truth of Luisa's statement, "the image of the Creator is engraved on human beings" is of utmost importance to the those who want to understand the "mark of the beast." Again, we are Catholics, so Luisa's statement is correct, in that it is spiritual, and that is what differentiate's Catholics with the literal Protestant interpretation. It is about our acts becoming Divine acts. All of us, are called to allow His will to operate within us. But it's up to us. The interim between now and the end of the world is rather obvious. If we work towards God as a society, our chastisements will lessen. The more we imitate our Blessed Mother, the more the world will undergo peace. And for those who "live in the Divine will," are those who will be part of the Eucharistic reign. A Eucharistic reign that has never left us. He's been here with us always. It's just that some don't know it yet, and some have forgotten. But through the Divine Mercy of St Faustina, many will finally accept the Eucharist. This does not mean it is the Second Coming's end of the world. Just the beginning of an era, that we lost too many years ago.

Amazing, the two completely different views on the end times! How could this happen? God's help is private revelation including the yet to be approved.

Read the daily messages from Heaven, they are in agreement on what is ahead (less one false messenger, MDM in Ireland).

John's message speaks about Satan's plan for our country.
Also, in brief, of our purification during the Tribulation and usually stated but not in this particular message, God's hope for conversion via the Great Warning. Next, the appearance of the anti-Christ, the Remnant's protection at the refuges. The Chastisement, evil is removed from the earth by fire this time. God renews the earth, He begins His 7th Day.

The Remnant will live on this renewed earth where Jesus will reign spiritually. There will be supernatural gifts abounding like Padre Pio was given. The 7th Day period is called the Era of Peace. Everyone will believe in the Holy Eucharist. Allelua.

Notice the final words of the last sentence, after all these things, Our Lord mentions another period of time and place, it is known as the Eight Day.

God respects His prophets, He speaks through each one in their style of thinking and speech.

message to John Leary

http://www.johnleary.com/

Jesus said: “My people, the roots of Masonry go back many years. You were sensing a connection of these one world people to some of the communist organizations in America. In the early days of Lenin, it was the one world rich people that made large donations of money to get communism started in Russia. These same sponsors have been providing the needed funds to keep the progressive movements going to break down America. The breakdown of America is coming from within your government, where worship of Me is against the work of the one world people who take their orders from Satan. At times the liberals or progressives have the same agenda as the communists who are struggling for a takeover of America. It is the top people in the one world people’s inner circle that are actually behind forming the continental unions that will be joined with the Antichrist for his takeover of the world. The evil ones will appear to be controlling the world, but I will allow My faithful to be protected by My angels at My refuges. Once the evil ones come to full power, I will unleash My Comet of Chastisement that will destroy two-thirds of humanity. I will have My angels protect My faithful by lifting them up into the air. After the three days of darkness, I will renew the earth and bring My faithful back down into My Era of Peace. The evil ones will be cast into hell, and they will no longer have influence over My faithful. Rejoice when I bring My victory over evil, and My faithful will have their reward in My Era of Peace, and later in heaven.”

p.s. Prophecy says too within a year of the Great Warning, God's "great miracle" for the all world to see. In Pedro Regis' current messages, Our Lady speaks of the "Great Miracle." It will especially help the "separated" come to the faith. Pedro has a record of fulfilled prophecies. See the 6/1/13 message.

Hannah - Given that the vast majority of prophetic imagery is meant to be interpreted symbolically, I think we should also take this approach to the Three Days of Darkness. We don't tend to read the Apocalypse literally, so these prophecies should be no different. The home we are urged not to leave represents the Church, while the darkness outside, and the demons dragging people away to hell represents the apostasy. The light represents Christ and the Gospel, which is the only source of true illumination during this time of apostasy, and it is only by using this light that we are able to see the truth. The people who perish during this time represents those who are dragged into apostasy, and who will be lost as a result.
According to Bl. Anna Maria Taigi, the Angelic Pope then arrives after the Three Days of Darkness to restore the Church, and he is elected after a supernatural sign at the conclave:

"After the three days of darkness, St. Peter and St. Paul, having come down from Heaven, will preach in the whole world and designate a new Pope. A great light will flash from their bodies and will settle upon the cardinal who is to become Pope. Christianity, then, will spread throughout the world. He is the Holy Pontiff, chosen by God to withstand the storm. At the end, he will have the gift of miracles, and his name shall be praised over the whole earth. Whole nations will come back to the Church and the face of the earth will be renewed. Russia, England, and China will come into the Church."

It is interesting to note that Cardinal Schonborn has publically stated that Pope Francis was elected after supernatural signs in the conclave, which unfortunately the cardinals are forbidden from discussing. His exact words were as follows: "“We were driven by the Holy Spirit to this man – he was sitting in the last corner of the Sistine Chapel: This man he is the chosen one.” “I received at least two strong signs: one I can tell, the other was in the Conclave I can’t speak about – but real signs of the Lord giving me indication ‘he is the one’.”
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/the-pope/10056994/Pope-Francis-elected-after-supernatural-signs-in-the-Conclave-says-Cardinal.html

This sounds very like Bl. Anna Maria Taigi's prophecy above. Also the two lightning strikes at St. Peter's Basilica when Pope Benedict XVI announced his abdication brings to mind St. Peter and St. Paul (who are part of the interpretation of the Two Witnesses) coming down from heaven to choose the Angelic Pope.

Oh wow, Emmett! I see now.

All this time I was thinking the Three Days of Darkness was literal. It almost seemed too horrific to be literal anyway. Thank you so much for explaining it to me! So you are saying it was 30 years? From 1970-2000?

Remember Bl. Tomasuccio's Prophecy? 12 years after the millenium will come the Pope who will restore the Church. This is amazing!

And yes, I remember Cardinal Schonborn saying there were supernatural signs in the Conclave. I really got to thinking then. No wonder I can almost feel holiness radiating from this Pope! We will never know what happened in there though. I wish!

So, the two lightning strikes symbolize Peter and Paul? That's interesting Emmett.

Jamie,

Yes, I heard. The Vatican Bank needs to be cleaned up, too. The Holy Father knows what he's doing. There's no doubt about that. All of the corruption must be cleaned out of the Church once and for all. This is what Pope John Paul I wanted to do, but didn't live long enough to do...Pray for the Holy Father. He needs the prayers of the whole Church right now. The Lord is cleansing the Church and there's no turning back. Trying to wrap my head around it all, from what's going on to these Prophecies. It's so much!

Thank you for the links! I love Pope Pius XII. He's one of my favorite Popes (aren't they all? :) ) He deserves to be canonized.

Pope Pius XII: "I hear all around me innovators who want to dismantle the Holy Chapel, destroy the universal flame of the Church, throw away her ornaments, give her a remorse of her historical past. Well my dear friend, I have the conviction that the Church of Peter must assume her past or she will dig her own grave."

I continue to go over that quote in my head. What powerful words from a great Saint. Like I said, despise Modernism. Hold onto the Holy Faith and to everything we have always taught, believed and practiced. Stand up with Michael Voris! BTW, He's amazing and says it like it is. To think, I might live to see the glorious triumph of the Church gives me hope.

BTW, I could listen to Gregorian Chant all day! What a shame there's little of it these day (besides the TLM).

God bless, Jamie!

Cheers Hannah,

Voris recently came to Perth and gave a brilliant presentation and seemed genuinely humble. Some say he is preaching to the choir but he does confront apostate churchmen as well as expose the enemies of the old Mass such as Cardinal Dolan who crushes any priest in his diocese that wants to say it.

There are many who still itch to see further demolition but there is not much left to demolish except externals of buildings or as someone mentioned to turn St Peters Basilica into a giant soup kitchen.

Hi Jamey,

This just out from Michael. Watch it and beg God for Mercy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQUboulwwD8

I just feel like weeping for these men right now. We're in a living nightmare. Please, please, Jamie pray like you've never prayed before for the Church and that Pope Francis will be able to root out this evil. I pray for Priests every night and have a deep respect for them, but this is almost too much to take.

I found this in the 2nd volume of The Life and Revelations of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, pg. 546:

"...A great cloud of of sin hands over the whole world, tepidity and indifference everywhere. EVEN IN ROME, I see wicked Priests murdering the Child Jesus in their Mass. They want to exact something very pernicious from the Pope. Whenever they try to approach him, an angel with a drawn sword repulses them."

How few there are like Michael Voris these days, though. He does say it like it is. It's really sad that Princes of the Church would be enemies of tradition (speaking of Cardinal Doaln)! If you're a true Catholic, you should love tradition! Sometimes I wonder if the restoration will ever come seeing the sad state of affairs in the Church these days. But, I know it will and we must wait. The Church has never experienced trials like we are today. Read this:

Interesting Prophecies, with my interpretation: (I'm sure you've heard of most of them) (My comments in italics):

"Very grace trials await the Church. What we have suffered so far is nothing compared to what is going to happen." [This is self-explanatory] -St. John Bosco

And this:

“Once more I saw that the Church of Peter was undermined by a plan evolved by the secret sect [Freemasonry], while storms were damaging it. But I saw also that help was coming when distress had reached its peak. I saw again the Blessed Virgin ascend on the Church and spread her mantle [over it]. I saw a Pope who was at once gentle, and very firm [Sounds like Pope Francis to me!].... I saw a great renewal, and the Church rose high in the sky….” -Bl. Anne Catherine Emmerich

And this:

“I see the Holy Father in great anguish. He lives in a PALACE OTHER THAN BEFORE [Pope Francis doesn't live in the Apostolic Palace. Interesting note about this Prophecy!] and he admits only a limited number of friends near him. I fear that the Holy Father will suffer many more trials before he dies. I see that the false Church of darkness is making progress and I see the dreadful influence it has on the people. The Holy Father and the Church are verily in so great a distress that one must implore God night and day [With the events recently, we surely do have to implore God day and night...]…”

And this, from Bl. Anne Catherine Emmerich:

January 27, 1822

"I saw a new Pope [Could be Pope Francis!] who will be very strict. He will estrange from him the cold and lukewarm bishops. [Look what happened to Cardinal O'Brien from Scotland...] He is not a Roman, but he is Italian. [Pope Francis is of italian descent.] He comes from a place which is not very far from Rome, and I think he comes from a devout family of royal blood. [As for royal blood, I don't know. Still an interesting Prophecy.]] But there must still be for a while much fighting and unrest"

Anyway, just wanted to share that.

Pray for Holy Mother Church.

Pax Christi, Jamie.

God bless!

~Hannah

So far only Cardinal Schonborn has a royal family. Very doubtful that Pope Francis has any. Are you sure those writings are accurate, Hannah? There are so many fakes out there.

She is a Blessed. Whether or not all her writings are approved, I'm not sure. This was all taken from "The Life and Revelations of Anne Catherine Emmerich." I'm just speculating after all...

I really wish these pieces of trash never entered the Church - I think they have devious intentions from the beginning and Satan via diabolical inspiration led them straight to the priesthood.

I have read some accounts of sexual abuse by religious and it is most disturbing often groups of them attacking individual victims. One victim I remember reading her story still reverted back to Catholicism in adulthood despite having 3 priests regularly "assaulting" her when young. Unless it is in mainstream media I would recommend staying away from reading too much about this stuff as it can really shake ones faith which we need to safeguard. The spiritual battle is at its zenith, dark forces are consuming humanity and the Church like never before. Corrupt and lukewarm clergy is what has made evangelisation impossible in most cases - I have had people ask how the heck can I be Catholic with all that has happened, I say I believe in the Church but we are in the end times where unfortunately almost anything goes.

"Sometimes I wonder if the restoration will ever come seeing the sad state of affairs in the Church these days. But, I know it will and we must wait. The Church has never experienced trials like we are today."

Concurred, all I know is it would never happen through natural means - the Cardinals are too heavily stacked against tradition but something supernatural will happen. Even B16 made some woeful choices probably based on advice given by others. As Voris highlights it seems many modern bishops and priests don't want to rock the boat for financial reasons.

What helps me is bearing in mind St Thomas Aquinas' advise that the end times will ultimately be a chastisement on the sinful and whilst certainly a test to say the least - it will be an opportunity for us to develop heroic virtue and sanctification with the help of God's grace. I think St Louis De Montfort said the greatest saints will be made in the end-times because Satan will be unbound.

I use to be scared of the SSPX because I thought they were schismatic but Archbishop Lefebvre put up the fight of his life against the modernists and heretics and he was almost alone, it was extremely sad. A breaking point was then Cardinal Ratzinger saying the SSPX chapels will have to do the Novus Ordo in dioceses where it is demanded and which certain bishops said they would enforce. He said "Good luck when you see the reaction of our faithful", ultimately he didn't want to throw his young seminarians to the wolves and resorted to the 1988 consecrations. I pray everyday for the SSPX full unhindered regularisation as the Church will be a lot stronger for it. In Lefebvre's writings there is no one more laser precise in highlighting the profound theological and liturgical rupture that occurred post VII. I find it somewhat prophetic in the below video where an elderly Pope Paul VI knocks on the door on a liturgical celebration (at the 3 min mark) and rubble falls down and some hits him:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIztLx4ZG8A

Also in the video Lefebvre in negotiations with the Vatican saying:
"In Rome the subversion of the sacred doctrine is consumed like never before in the history of the Church; The new Mass is Lutheran; The dialogue interreligious is Masonic; The new ecunemism is Communist; the Supreme pontiff is a modernist"

There are genuine prophecies that do link freemasonry infiltrating the Church (Quito), of there being "suicidal" theological and liturgical changes (Cardinal Pacelli's Fatima warnings which aren't in any of the revealed secrets!), of scandalous clergy (Quito and St Hildegard of Bingen), of the work of the devil infiltrating the Church (Akita).

Hannah I will pray for those intentions, yourself and all on this blog.

God Bless.

Hi Emmett,

Do you you interpret the Three Days of Darkness to be solely figurative? St. Padre Pio's account of them seems to be absolutely literal. What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

I remember reading this a while ago - I have never known if it is true - the blurb and link from Tan Books:
"In the 1960's, a French Catholic nurse, Marie Carre, attended an auto-crash victim who was brought into her hospital in a city she purposely does not name. The man lingered there near death for a few hours and then died. He had no identification on him, but he had a briefcase in which there was a set of quasi-biographical notes. She kept these notes and read them, and because of their extraordinary content, decided to publish them. The result is this little book, AA-1025-The Memoirs of an Anti-Apostle, about a Communist who purposely entered the Catholic priesthood (along with many, many others) with the intent to subvert and destroy the Church from within.
This little book, his strange yet fascinating and illuminating set of biographical notes, tells of his commission to enter the priesthood, his various experiences in the seminary, and the means and methods he used and promoted to help effect from within the auto-dissolution of the Catholic Church.
Absorbing and compelling reading from beginning to end, AA-1025-The Memoirs of an Anti-Apostle is must reading for every Catholic today and for all who would understand just what has happened to undermine the Catholic Church since the 1960's. No one will read this book without a profound assent that something just like what is described here must surely have happened on a wide scale in order to have disrupted the life of the Catholic Church so dramatically:

The prophecies of the Three Days of Darkness attributed to St. Pio are almost certainly a pious fiction. Desmond Birch attempted to trace the source of Padre Pio's prophecies for his book Trial, Tribulation & Triumph:

". . . There are printed materials containing prophecy of three days of darkness which attribute such a prophecy to Padre Pio. But the author [i.e. Birch] has in his possession sworn documents from the Capuchin Order stating that no such prophecy ever emanated from Padre Pio. All the author's attempts to track down an authentic source from Padre Pio have led to the conclusion that; some person(s) either accidentally or willfully created these attributions of such a prophecy to Padre Pio" (Trial, Tribulation, & Triumph, p. 283).

http://jimmyakin.com/2010/01/a-reader-writessomebody-asked-me-in-regard-of-this-article-is-it-true-or-false-is-it-authentic-or-just-regular-pious-writi.html

However, even if St. Pio's alleged prophecies concerning the Three Days of Darkness were in fact genuine, very often in private revelations the seer doesn't completely understand the visions they are seeing, and take them at face value. Many of them tend just to report what they see in visions, rather than attempt any allegorical explanation. But when we look at the Bible, apocalyptic visions, enacted parables, etc. always have an additional layer of meaning which extends beyond the prosaic.

Hi Jamey,

"I find it somewhat prophetic in the below video where an elderly Pope Paul VI knocks on the door on a liturgical celebration (at the 3 min mark) and rubble falls down and some hits him:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIztLx4ZG8A"

Wow, thank you for sharing that. Reminds me of what Cardinal Siri said. "If the Church wasn't divine, the Council would have buried Her". Powerful words.

"Also in the video Lefebvre in negotiations with the Vatican saying:
"In Rome the subversion of the sacred doctrine is consumed like never before in the history of the Church; The new Mass is Lutheran; The dialogue interreligious is Masonic; The new ecunemism is Communist; the Supreme pontiff is a modernist"

Those are indeed prophetic words there. I've never liked today's ecumenism. There's no point in laughing it up, saying I'm ok, you're ok with the pagans and the Protestants. There is NO Salvation outside the Church. Period. The Church has always taught this and it never changed. We have to do our best to convert them to the One, True Faith. Just my two cents on that. I agree with all of it...

I agree with everything you said on the SSPX. We need them, badly. But we are blessed to have those like the FSSP.

"Corrupt and lukewarm clergy is what has made evangelisation impossible in most cases - I have had people ask how the heck can I be Catholic with all that has happened, I say I believe in the Church but we are in the end times where unfortunately almost anything goes."

It's for reasons such as what you described that we must pray earnestly for the Priests. They are called to a much higher holiness than us by virtue of what they are. I shall never lose faith in the Church, though. Never. Our trust is in God, rather than man. The gates of hell will never prevail, although the Devil will and has been trying with all his strength to destroy the Church. But, we have the promise of Christ that he never will. How does he attempt to do that? Well, attack the Clergy. If he can strike the Shepherd, the sheep will scatter (I believe that's in Scripture. Can't remember). We have a DUTY to pray for the Priests, in my opinion. They are under attack more than ever from the world, the flesh and the Devil. For those are have done terrible evil, for those who snuck into the Priesthood to destroy the Faith, we must pray for them in earnest. They are still Priests, even if they're the most evil and corrupt men on earth. They are responsible for souls. They either lead them to Heaven or hell, along with themselves. They will have to give an account for so much. That is why I pray for Priests every day and I have been since I was received into the Church (BTW I received the Sacraments of Initiation in April of 2009). :) Even since then I have a love and respect for the Priests. It's just me. It hurts me so much to see the evil Priests have done. I remember weeping once over Cardinal Mahony...
There is a hell and people go there. I don't want any Priests, Bishops or Cardinals to go there for all eternity! This is ultimately about doing good and avoiding evil, Heaven or Hell...

"The Priesthood is the love of the heart of Jesus." -St. John Vianney

Thank you for the prayers, Jamey. It's a comfort to see people like you that love the Church so much.

Please keep praying for the Church, for the Clergy and for Pope Francis. Poor man has the cross on his shoulders...Viva il Papa.

God bless!

~Hannah

BTW, Thank you for that book, Anonymous! I've been wanting to look into it, but didn't know it was online.

Thanks for responding regarding Padre Pio Emmett, I haven't had time to be able to read your book or your all of your blog entries. So, you would say then that the three days of darkness were the three decades leading up to the year 2000, is that right?

Thanks

Emmett O'Regan said...

Hi Anon,

Yes, if we are to interpret them as 30 years (and from some point before the election of Pope Francis), then I would say from 1970 to 2000 would be the best fit. It seems that the turn of the millennium was a major turning point which saw the defeat of Satan in heaven, which will allow the Second Pentecost to take place. If the Three Days of Darkness are to be equated with the 42 "months" of desolation (= years) as well as being related to the "times, time and half a time" (which would probably correspond to 1965-2000) then calculating on from 1970 would also point to sometime around the year 2012 for the end of the period of desolation (which would make even more sense out of the Worthy Shepherd Prophecy).

Jamey said...

Hannah, I particularly look forward when we have a Pope who will have the God given Courage and Power to drive the devil straight out of the Vatican.

Whether it will be Francis or not time will tell, but it will happen in our lifetime.

Regarding the liturgy there is good news in that Francis seems to have a strong relationship with papal master of ceremonies Guido Marini whom happens to be a traditionalist, good work B16! Apparently according to Francis himself many called for Marini's sacking but that won't be happening check the following link and scroll down a bit:

http://eponymousflower.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/why-pope-wont-fire-marini-put-treasure.html

btw Emmett, many thanks for that quote re the authenticity of Padre Pio's prophecy of 3 days of darkness quoted in Desmond Birch's book. It is easy to see how prophecies can get out of control when there is a lack of governance.

Laudemus Christi!

Jamey,

I look forward to it, too. Our Lady of Akita said this would happen! So did Our Lady of Good Success. The Devil would infiltrate into the Church.

Maybe we should look at what she said again in light of what's going on these days...

Emphasis is mine:

"IF men DO NOT repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. FIRE will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. [Let's see..America is Sodom and Gomorrah! Just look at what the Supreme Court just did to us..If we don't repent, we're going to get what we deserve.] The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, PRAY for the Pope, the Bishops and the priests. [We must do this EVERY DAY, like I said.]
“The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see Cardinals opposing Cardinals, Bishops against other Bishops. The priests who venerate Me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres (other priests). Churches and altars will be sacked. [All of the beauty was torn out of our Churches!] The Church will be full of those who accept compromises, and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.
The demon will be especially implacable against the souls consecrated to God. [Like I said, the Devil HATES the Priests.] The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of My sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will no longer be pardon for them. [Are we all going to repent or will be the cause of Our Lady's tears? We have to start with ourselves.]
...Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able to still save you from the calamities which approach. [She will. The Triumph will come, through Divine intervention, like you said Jamey. It will take God Himself to accomplish it.] Those who place their confidence in Me will be saved."

"Regarding the liturgy there is good news in that Francis seems to have a strong relationship with papal master of ceremonies Guido Marini whom happens to be a traditionalist, good work B16!"

Yes! I love Msgr. Marini! I'm so glad he stayed. He's responsible for the reverence in the Pope's Liturgies which is great. I also saw that link. Definitely, good news.

"Indeed, the true friends of the people are neither revolutionaries, nor innovators: they are traditionalists." -Pope St. Pius X

I just have so many thoughts right now. I feel like sharing it all. I hope you don't mind that I bombarded your blog, Emmett! I should probably stop posting so much? LOL!

Thanks for all the great posts, Jamie! I love reading what you have to say. :)

Viva Christo Rey!

Likewise, Hannah I have enjoyed the chat.

Concurred, Akita like Fatima is playing out by the day, amazingly I think Sr Agnes is still alive but in seclusion. I think whatever has been suppressed in the Third Secret has been alluded to by Akita particularly the work of the devil infiltrating the Church - Pope John Paul I just prior to his election a few years after the Akita msg said he didn't want to have anything to do with the Vatican as the devil was there.

Interestingly some claim Akita was later denounced but this was a lie perpetuated by 30 Days Magazine after its editor was changed (well he was apparently thrown in jail on trumped up charges after exposing Masons in the Vatican) and the new editor Giulio Andriotti who had a shady past and connections to Mafia and Masons began to inform people that the Bishop of Tokyo had condemned Akita with an article that sounded scholarly but was ultimately deceptive.

The good Fr John O'Connor responding to the situation in the 90's contacted the bishop of Tokyo who correctly referred him to the bishop of Niigata. The bishop of Niigata wrote him that Bishops Ito's declaration of the events of Akita being supernatural were still in force. Bishop Ito himself when interviewed on EWTN said he was told by then Cardinal Ratzinger to spend his retirement promoting the message of Akita.

It seems the SSPX think dialogue is going nowhere in the latest article - it will likely be the case that the world will be in dire straits for the pope to do the consecration of Russia and I expect when this happens the SSPX will be brought back into the fold. Bob Sungenis in his newly released book on the consecration of Russia like Emmett believes the peace will be short to preach the gospel a final time to the entire world, and then the final battle and Parousia will take place.

Anonymous said...

Jamey,

Interesting stuff about Akita.

Didn't Pope John Paul I tell Sr. Lucia that he didn't want to have anything to do with the Vatican because the Devil was there? That's what I've heard. Still, what a thought. The Pope Himself said that!

I don't mean to start a big argument about the Consecration of Russia, but that is one thing that confuses me. You have two groups of people. One group says the Consecration was done in 1984 by Bl. Pope John Paul II. Another says it hasn't been. I personally don't think it has, but I'm still confused. I know Bl. Pope John Paul didn't specifically consecrate Russia (which is what was supposed to have been done). But what about Pope Pius XII? Or any other Pope? It's been almost 100 years here! I've been reading Fatima.org which is Fr. Gruner's website. I don't if he's suspended by Rome or what. They're absolutely positive it hasn't been done, but they pose an interesting argument about the Consecration of Russia and the Third Secret. Likewise, the Third secret confuses me, too. I'm just trying to figure this out. I look forward to your opinions, though.

Suppose the Consecration was done. Wouldn't it be apparent to all? Wouldn't the peace come soon after, like Our Lady promised?

I think Pope Francis will do it. His Papacy was consecrated to Our Lady of Fatima and he met with Bl. Pope John XXIII's secretary soon after he was elected, which might be interesting in light of the Third secret. I don't know.

Your thoughts, Jamie? Pax.

God bless!

Jamey said...

Hannah, yes I think the promised peace or conversion is the key. According to Fr Alonso, Sr Lucia herself said the conversion of Russia meant them being converted to the Catholic faith which hasn't happened. Russia has a very high abortion rate, one of the highest in the world in recent times so there hasn't even been a spiritual conversion although they do prosecute idiots who commit blasphemy and Putin does have a strong rule against such things and gay marriage which is good; I think he is disgusted by the West. Yes communism did fall unexpectedly a few years later after the 84 consecration but then it seems a new world order type scenario has arisen, an even greater evil and really there has been no overriding peace to speak off.

John Salza makes an interesting point and this is in regard to the 84 consecration - if someone is demonically possessed in a town you don't typically perform an exorcism on the whole town but on the individual. Likewise with the consecration there is a reason Russia has to be mentioned. A great error/desecration and evil came from Russia via the revolution that has filtered through the entire world where atheism and Godless values prevail - Russia has spread her errors. Consecration exorcises the demons that attach themselves to the object that spreads the error, Russia in this case, and that Russia must be consecrated in union with bishops of the world.

I recommend Salza's book written with Bob Sungenis called "The Consecration of Russia" as there is so much to the topic and everything is thoroughly addressed there.

See the following 1 hr film which has some fascinating content and analysis from Salza who is quite a genius at reading between the lines.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXj-atEETUY

Controversially and Salza throws it out there and some may construe this as irresponsible he is concerned (but not totally convinced) that Benedict's abdication may relate to Emmerich's prophecy of a true pope who has to flee and an antipope that arises who would be a friend of the world and will unite the Church of darkness to other religions and firmly establish a Masonic one world religion. Remember Benedict saying to pray for him that he doesn't flee for fear of the wolves. "If Benedict resigned under duress and undue influence the validity of his resignation and the subsequent election of Pope Francis would be in question and give rise to this very Pope/anti-Pope scenario." Those two lightning strikes on the Vatican may signal God's judgement on the Church which "only increases the angst and trepidation of our current situation".

Salza goes on to say we have to assume that Francis is pope and pray for him, but I think he is saying we have to look out and be cautious all the same we are in dangerous times.

As mentioned there are so many elements to the consecration and whether it has been done or not, maybe Emmett can create a new post in the future if he has time which is very simple but where we can discuss related issues in the comments section.

God Bless.

Hi Jamey,

Thanks so much! That's all very interesting. I'll leave at that, though, for now...

I'd much rather discuss it when that is the topic.

As for Benedict, something did seem odd to me when he abdicated. I was thinking, if he was the first to abdicate in hundreds of years, there must be something more than his health... I don't speculate about it too much. I take him at his word.

I'll stop posting for now, unless something comes up to where I can't resist posting! :) I think I've posted too much!

Pray for the Church and that the Pope will consecrate Russia...there's nothing much else we can do...

Thanks for all the time you put into these posts, Jamey!

I shall keep you in prayer. Stay faithful and orthodox and never give up, no matter how bad things get...

I heard him explain Revelation in a lecture on youtube. It was really interesting. I'm interested in his opinion on the End Times and if he thinks we're close to it.

Hi Emmett,

Regarding the 3 days of darkness=1970-2000, how would you expain the pontificate of John Paul II during these years? It doesn't seem like the Church was in darkness when he was among us for the majority of that time.

benjoyce said...

Where does Louise Piccarata and the "Kingdom of the Divine Will" fit in?

In order to excuse her from the heresy of millinarianism this blog must restrict her period to AFTER the antichrist?

(I haven't read her stuff yet)

Fr. Iannuzzi defended his thesis about her work to 10 Cardinals in in the Vatican and he passed with flying colors. Unanimous approval.

benjoyce said...

Concerning the "Three Days of Darkness" a prophecy that comes from at least NINE saints and seers. Fr. Hebert wrote a small book on it.

One prophecy (?from Blessed Maria Jahenny/Normandy France) says the three days is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Not one of them says three decades.

I don't know where the three days of Darkness fit in.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Anon - The Church itself was not, and never will be in darkness. I believe the home we are urged not to leave during the Three Days of Darkness is the Church itself. So even if the Three "days" of darkness/Great Apostasy encompassed the pontificate of John Paul II, the Church remained our safe haven, possessing the only source of light during this time.

Ben - As I said earlier, each of the visionaries given private revelations about the Three Days of Darkness most likely took this quite literally. But they can have an allegorical interpretation, like all other visions and prophecies.
Marie Julie Jahenny isn't a blessed. Her words concerning the Three Days of Darkness are certainly the most detailed, but she is one of the last visionaries to speak about them. So it is quite likely that her material on the Three Days of Darkness were merely her personal reflections on them, rather than private revelations.

There is a moratorium placed on the writings of Luisa Piccarreta because they are very easy to interpret as millenarian in places (which would make them heretical). We are meant to stay away from these writings until the Church provides a detailed explanation on how exactly they are to be interpreted. If Fr. Iannuzzi's work on Luisa Piccarreta was officially accepted by the Church, then this ban wouldn't be in place.

KP said...

Jamey,

I found the book you refer to. This must have been released very recently, because I never saw it on Sungenis' site before? I'll probably order it and see what he says.

Jamey said...

KP,

The book has a wealth of information, you won't be disappointed, it is also well referenced and some information I hadn't encountered before. The only thing I found was they seemed to roast the past 7 popes (except JPI who didnt have adequate time) as being almost deliberately disobedient yet in the conclusion mention the consecration hasn't been done likely due to lack of fidelity from the general faithful to the Fatima message, I don't think they can have it both ways plus I love Pius XII! I ordered mine from Salza and he signed it. I paid $7.50 for the postage to Oz as thats what checkout stated and the envelope actually stated postage as $44.

Indeed Sungenis thinks it is the end times - "We can surmise then that once converted God will use Russia to convert the rest of the world for it is only then that a "period of peace" will have fertile soil to be established. Although the word "period" is undefined it seems to refer to an interlude of many decades, if not 100 years or more. As such, it appears that God will use the "period of peace" to preach the Gospel to the nations and prepare them for His Second Coming (Mt24:13-14). But as Scripture also teaches, just prior to the end, the world will fall into utter apostasy as Satan and the Antichrist are loosed for the "little season" (Apoc 20:1-3, 7-8) and then Christ will return and cast Satan and his minions into hell, and begin the New Heaven and New Earth (Apoc 20:9-15).

Robert Sungenis
8 December AD 2012
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception

So we see a similar conclusion to Emmett in this regard except he sees the period of peace as possibly a tad longer. Not sure if Bob is aware of the 25 years as mentioned at La Salette I would have thought he would be.

There is some interesting speculative analysis in the book as well.

Agreed Sungenis is very logical, his article in Culture Wars a few years back was pivotal in getting the US bishops to remove the clearly heretical statement from their catechism that the Mosaic covenant is still in effect.

Jamey said...

I thought some may find the following useful from Sungenis and Salza's book regarding the sex abuse scandals:

"Incidentally if the consecration of Russia has been not been performed (and we submit this book proves this is the case), it is quite significant that the recent sex abuse scandal in the Catholic Church comes on the heels of the Vatican's claim to the contrary. Being in their forty year spiritual desert the Church committed its sexual sins and tried to cover them up. But God would have none of it. As He did with David's sins of murder and adultery that David tried to cover up, God exposed the Church's sin to the whole world so it could look upon her with disgust and hatred. And as David suffered the temporal punishment for those heinous sins, so the Church will suffer for its sins. As Isaiah once said ".. the priest and the prophet reel with strong drink, they are confused with wine, they stagger with strong drink, they err in vision, they stumble in giving judgement. For all tables are full of vomit, no place is without filthiness."

KP said...

Jamey,

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to order the book. I liked the sample pages available on his site.

What I'm not sure I agree with is the idea that there will be a period of peace where the world converts that is followed by the Great Apostasy. It seems to me that we're already in the Great Apostasy right now.

The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart seems to be coming soon, if the 100 years is from 1917-2017. I'd love to live in a period of peace for the rest of my life (or, even if its only 25 years or so).

I suppose it really depends upon what this "period of peace" consists of.

I just don't see how we could be in such a huge apostasy now (which I believe is the Great Apostasy discussed by Paul in 2 Thess 2:3) and then have a period of peace where the whole world converts, followed by another Apostasy in the future.

Jamey said...

Mysteries aplenty KP, in La Salette it was said that there would be peace it would be short and disturbed by a monster. I am not sure on the level of certitude with this though and it could be longer than 25 years. I think God speaks to us in riddles when it comes to prophecy (Numbers 12:8).

Personally I would like to around when the two witnesses wreak havoc.

Speaking of the two witnesses we are told they will be killed and crowds will be gloating - I couldn't help but think of the topic when reading of Fr Francis Maroud's beheading and martyrdom - in front of the cheering crowd with their iphones and posted for all the world to see. It gives a glimpse of what is to come in an increasingly hostile world to Jesus Christ. Some who have viewed the footage have recommended others not to do so. Fr Maroud told his bishop he was prepared to die for Jesus.

Emmett:
Thank you for your wonderful blog. Unlike other end-times readings I've done, your research and conclusions, as well as those discussions in your ComBox, have provided great peace. My other readings caused feelings of trepidation and sometimes panic.

I do have two questions/comments:
1.) Fr.. Malachi Martin read the Third Secret and took an oath to secrecy. He was a frequent guest on the Coast to Coast radio show and said he could never utter the secret but that if someone called in with the correct wording, Fr. Martin would confirm its authenticity. I think it was about 1989 when a relative of someone in the room when John XXIII read the secret relayed that a Pope would be under the complete control of Satan! After gasping and a few seconds of silence, Fr. Martin said that was correct!
2.) The disparaged Dimond brothers who have been proven deceptive did produce a video claiming that the Sister Lucy who appeared with JPII was an imposter. Their hypothesis is that the real Sister Lucy was either killed or just hidden away in the convent and this imposter took her place in public. They also say there was an imposter Pope Paul VI. Using side by side photographs to contrast facial features of Sr. Lucy and Pope Paul VI.

Have you come across any information about these items in your research?

Veritas:
I had the same thought, yesterday about B16 & Francis being the Two Witnesses.

I still have personal misgivings about the selection of Pope Francis but defer to the perfect wisdom and guidance of the Holy Ghost.

I really don't believe the consecration of Russia was not done. It was. And we saw the fruits with the fall of the Soviet Union. I think some of us are blind to the rise of the Antichrist. He's here already. Some of us are waiting for a spectacle only Hollywood produces. When in fact, it is clearly happening already. The evil is unraveling on a daily basis, and the apathy of the majority is disheartening. I believe Emmett's chronology is quite right. But maybe the era of peace passed us already. Maybe it was during the Reagan Revolution with Thatcher and Pope John Paul II. And today we are witnessing the rise of the Antichrist. The persecution started awhile ago. It doesn't matter who the man of iniquity is because his spirit is already in charge. What matters is our continual prayers, and our support to those who are fighting to preserve the principles and values of Christianity. Malachi Martin was right when he said our religion started with the Crucifixion. After seeing the constant martyrdom of Christians in the middle east, we should all know hope is not lost. Our Marian priests are ready. Our Blessed Mother promised she would be with us. Pope Francis and Pope Benedict are her witnesses. We are fortunate to have them.

Jamey said...

Interesting points Sherry.

1. John Salza raises the possibility that JPII may have been that pope after being blessed on the forehead with cow feces in Madras in 1986 and then drinking voodoo potion in Fiji the same year among other documented activities.

2. Regarding the second Lucia - the largest difference I can see is that the second Lucia has a very small bottom lip.

Anon there is a raging debate on the most recent blog about the Consecration - the USSR did fall but pretty much all evils remained or have escalated. They have the largest child porn network in the world, live sex shows and porn on tv as well as a massive abortion rate.

It was very nice seeing B16 out in public again.

Veritas,

While it is tempting to suggest this, given the unique nature of our current situation, I don't think that Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI could be one of the Two Witnesses. Benedict is very old and frail now, and I feel that the enormity of the task of the Two Witnesses would require someone of more energy and vigour. I have thought about the Two Witnesses being two different popes, if we are to discount the Great Monarch prophecies. But if this was the case, I always expected it to be two popes who are martyred separately in successive pontificates, rather than both together. Our situation is unique...

Thanks Sherry! I have heard of those conspiracy theories about an imposter Sr. Lucia and Pope Paul VI. I find them a bit too fantastic, and don't think they are credible.

Thanks Emmett for your input, but when I said that our Pope's were two witnesses for Our Blessed Mother, I didn't mean "The Two Witnesses," spoken in the Bible. Yet,I really don't know if that is to be taken literally or again symbolically. And Jamey, about Russia, you are right on that awful statistic. But Russia is also going through a tremendous Christian Orthodox revival. The Churches are full, and the government is praising Christianity and bringing back religion to the public forefront. Like I said, the entire world is at war with the spirit of Antichrist, so Russia is still fighting against that spirit. The difference is Putin, unlike the U.S. is embracing the Church. And that should give us all hope. Because there is a prophecy coming from a Ukrainian seer, that says, Russia will convert the U.S. And we sure need some conversion. Between our immoral wars, media, abortions, etc., we as a nation have exported the spirit of the Antichrist world- wide for the love of money. In fact, watching Business News this weekend the guests all agreed that principles don't matter as long as free trade stays intact. This is exactly what Pope Francis is speaking against.

Anon agree with much of what you say. However regarding Russia Sr Lucia herself said conversion means back to the Catholic faith. I really believe if the consecration was done properly we would have genuine peace, for a while anyway. I am glad Putin punished those blasphemers compared to the garbage our countries tolerate under the guise of freedom of speech, his intentions may have been political but at least there was justice.

Jamey, I still believe JP II's consecration, although not complete, was accepted. Fatima did save JP II from an assassin's bullet, and the fall of communism in the Soviet Union brought peace to so many countries. I also believe Pope Francis will go to visit Russia for another consecration. We have forgotten the Reagan revolution and what it stood for. The world was a better place. Many chastisements at that time were removed by means of our true faith of cenacles. This movement supported by JP II was responsible for people returning to God. I feel it was a time of peace and preparation for the Marian priests and laity. Today, the ugly head of the beast has risen again, and we are in an apostasy of apathy towards it. This time it's all about communism, radical Islam, and an indifference to atheism. It's about materialism and self-worship. We are being bombarded. Humanity is at its lowest. Which means our world is an ongoing roller coaster. And the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is not a one time event, but a continuous effort. Even after the era we are living today, the effort will need to continue. We are soon to experience an event, that will help us rise out of so much evil, because it has gotten so bad, we need the great mercy of the Lord. It will be an "almost general triumph of the divine mercy," for all those who have moved away from God. This extraordinary event I believe is the Warning and Miracle. As Fr Gobbi describes it, "an extraordinary event will certainly occur-an extraordinary sign which....could also be considered as a chastisement due to sin and evil. The Lord will allow this event, so that all humanity may come back to his merciful arms." I think Jamey, we're close, very close.

Emmett,

Can you point out the La Salette prophecy with the connection to the Great Monarch. I have searched for the prophecy but unable to find it.

Sherry,

I too have seen the 2 photos of Paul vi and Lucy. There seems to be a definite contrast in them. Lucy's chin is really protruding in the "other" Lucy. I think even Sungenis had mentioned something similar. I am surprised more hasn't been made of it.

Anon,
Russia has been preparing for world war 3 for decades. The have a goal in mind, one that communism will not relinquish - world domination. They are not about to give that up. Russian defectors Golitsyn and Lunev have stated it is all a ruse, that communism has not been defeated , but gone underground. A large part of the Russian youth do not practice the orthodox faith. The catholic faith alone is still persecuted , yet other faiths are unencumbered. There is no conversion possible there.

I would like to point everyone to youtube to listen to some of Father Malachi Martin's interviews. He was there in Rome, he read the secret first hand. JP2 Never consecrated Russia as he was supposed to have done, it just didn't happen. Every bishop in the world was to say the consecration at the same time. None of the popes before jp2 going back to 1960 did it either because they were either sympathetic to communism (yes, this is true shudder the thought if you abhor things like ceaucescu babies) and or they didn't want to offend the various leaders of the soviet union. As Father Martin said, they IGNORED the mandate of our lady. And if you think the wall falling was a victory, you're blissfully ignorant of what it truly was, a defeat as the error of communism infected and infested the west. There are powers out there right now ramping up their capabilities, do you think it all went bye bye after 1990? Go back and read the prophecies that speak of the Russians/Prussians showing up in France overnight. Remember that meteor a few months back? It was the loudest thing I ever heard on youtube, about blew my eardrums out. Do you imagine this was a coincidence? These meteorites were known to be bad omens in centuries past. Do some research about that area where it hit, it's off limits to the west and has been, it has secret bases and production factories. Heck there is even a prophecy about the Pragel Pass being the road the "red caps' use to invade. (Matthias lang if you're interested).

Remember what Pope Benedict said just a few years ago about Fatima: "it would be a mistake to think the prophecy has been realized."

And as I've said before, for those talking about the seer Lucia from Fatima, yeah that poor saint we may not know what happened to her for a while. She definitely had a different facial structure and teeth than that later woman they called "lucia", not the same person at all, a bad body double.

And Emmett, Pope Benedict IS the "Venerable old Man of Lazio" that Saint Don Bosco spoke of.
http://www.catholicrevelations.org/PR/st%20don%20bosco.htm

In this prophecy Saint Don Bosco speaks of a warrior and his men coming to Rome to meet with and get the blessing from an old venerable man. Hmmm..can anyone imagine just who this old man might be?

I would also invite everyone to read and think about Saint Francis's prophecy, he's warning us about our time:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/2748949/posts?page=37

Remember private prophecy is not new public prophecy. As Saint Thomas Aquinas said about private prophecy, it is "not to announce new doctrines but to guide the affairs of men."

Pope Francis is the "Beast of the Sea" of Revelation 13 and the "Second Beast" of Revelation 17. He will bring tremendous persecution upon the church especially those Priests who remain loyal to the teachings of Christ. The prophecy of La Salette warned that satan would seek to gain control of the highest level of the Church.

All is explained in www.thewarningsecondcoming.com
Jorge Bergoglio is an impostor, the false prophet mentioned three times in the Book of Revelation and a servant of Antichrist.

Awesome post, but I find the suggestion that Pope Francis is the "angelic pope" laughable. Considering he doesn't even want to convert evangelicals--meaning, objectively, he doesn't want them to come to the Eucharist. As a Catholic, you know the implications of that.
Not only this, but his apparent support for the apostasy of Card. Kasper. It seems as if Rome is preparing to lose the Faith--formally.

Our Lady of La Salette, pray for us.

Peter D. : a locution on www.locutions.org says something similar:
a great priest will come who will help the pope consecrate russia, and will be a voice of fatima he will have a spirit like John the Baptist (who was described as having a spirit like Elijah)

the text is below :

The Messenger of Light

Jan 21st, 2015

Mary

I foresee everything. I see the goals of the Evil One and the path upon which he has led the world. I see the great darkness that he plans and the steps he will lead everyone to take. This includes the terrorists, the world leaders, the rich who control the world’s wealth and all who will shape the events. All of his darkness and hiddenness is as clear as day. Nothing is hidden from my eyes.

The Father has placed heavenly wisdom in my heart, just as He placed His Son in my womb. He has revealed to me His plan of light for the coming darkness. However, he has allowed me to choose my messenger of light, and about this priest son I must speak so that my words are not vague or uncertain.

In this extreme moment of darkness, I would not leave this indispensable light to come about in a confused way, nor to even be questioned. I must give humanity two gifts so everyone receives the light. The first gift is a definite person, someone who is gentle and can be trusted, upon whom the Spirit of the Lord will rest. I will leave no doubt. I will send signs. These will be Fatima signs that this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.

I will give him the strength of King David, the wisdom of Solomon and the light of the great prophets. I will share with him my own task as the second John the Baptist.

I will reveal everything to him and he will reveal all to the world. All that the Evil One does and plans to do I will make known to him. He will be my constant and daily voice. I will give him power to work signs and wonders but especially I will make him a light to the nations. In him, my Church will shine forth to the world and all will see what I have done.

Comment: Our Lady has so often promised light in the great darkness that lies ahead, but never has she been so specific about how she will give the light.
