Rather amazingly, Patriarch Kirill, the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church, has basically confirmed the theory I present in my book concerning the dangers of the World Wide Web in relation to the appearance of the Antichrist. Below is a report taken from The Daily Telegraph:
The Russian Orthodox patriarch has warned that the popularity of smartphones is paving the way for the coming of the Antichrist.
In an interview on state television for Russian Orthodox Christmas on Monday, Patriarch Kirill warned that the widespread use of gadgets connected to the Internet has opened the possibility for “universal control over humanity”. The “devil acts very wisely” in offering people such a “toy”, he said.
"Such control from one place forebodes the coming of the Antichrist,” Patriarch Kirill said. “The Antichrist is the person that will be at the head of the world wide web controlling all of humanity. That means that the structure itself poses a danger. There shouldn't be a single centre, at least not in the foreseeable future, if we don't want to bring on the apocalypse."
The patriarch maintained he wasn't categorically against gadgets, but warned that people should be careful not to “fall into slavery to what's in your hands”.
(See here for the full article.)Even though Patriarch Kirill does not explicitly mention anything to do with the link between www and the number 666 in Hebrew gematria, there are clearly quite strong suggestions that the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church is a lot more informed on this subject than he is revealing on the surface. His remarkable claims are clearly based on something much more deeper than a mere "gut instinct" reacting against the dangers of modern technology.
I go into the link between the number of the beast and the letters www using Hebrew gematria in some considerable depth in my book Unveiling the Apocalypse: The Final Passover of the Church, and I even studied the Hebrew language at university level in order to better grasp the significance of this connection. My theory on this subject received the support of the late Catholic theologian Stratford Caldecott, whose studies also concentrated on the Apocalypse and Hebrew gematria. Stratford, whose work is widely lauded by many Catholic intellectuals, cited my theory in his book All Things Made New: The Mysteries of the World in Christ (Angelico/Sophia Perennis, 2011) and he alludes to my theories in several blog posts (see here and here for example). A whole issue of Humanum Review in which Stratford both edited and contributed to was based around the dangers of the internet and modern technology (see here).
In my book, I argue that given that we already have the very real possibility that all future commerce will be conducted electronically through smartphones, we don't need to look any further than this recent technological development to find the fulfilment of the prophecy of the "mark" of the beast. Given the fact that this prophecy was deliberately formulated as an antithetical parallelism of the Jewish practice of wearing phylacteries - small boxes containing pieces of Scripture worn on the forehead and arms, we can dispense with the more popular idea that this prophecy will only be fulfilled when the world's governments start forcing their populace to accept RFID microchip implants in order to participate in electronic commerce.
When I first developed this theory during a Hebrew class in 2005, the possibility that all future commerce would be conducted through smartphone devices was only a distant and somewhat abstract thought. Now that the use of smartphones in this capacity is an already widespread practice, we can clearly see this as rapidly approaching reality.
This doesn't mean that we should all collectively abandon our technological devices and suddenly retreat to self-sustaining farms in the countryside. It is only during the coming of the Antichrist that this technology will be exploited as a means of systematic control, as was pointed out by Patriarch Kirill. I have already argued extensively elsewhere that the time of the Antichrist is not imminent, since the period of the restoration of the Church foretold by many Catholic saints and mystics has to occur before the appearance of the Man of Sin. But given the non-neutral aspect of such technology, we must acknowledge that there are inherent dangers already built into the use of these devices, such as the corruption of childhood innocence, the use of explicit images to blackmail and peer pressure/psychological abuse on social media contributing to higher suicide rates, etc.
Now that the inherent dangers of the use of the world wide web and smartphone technology as a means of totalitarian control has been spelled out by one of the most important Church leaders in Christianity, it is surely only a matter of time before the Roman Catholic Pontiff will have to properly address this exact subject in a magisterial document. Patriarch Kirill has obviously carefully considered this rather controversial assessment of the risks of modern technology, and if an eventual consensus among Church leaders begins to develop on this issue in a similar vein, we could very well expect that its use will be condemned at some point in the future, when it becomes fully evident that the Antichrist will harness it as a means of control.

I recently received a comment on the post A Cashless Society - Closer than you may think... which requires a rather lengthy answer, so I thought I would post it on the main section of the blog so that everyone can read. It concerns the primary argument I forward in my book Unveiling the Apocalypse - which attempts to show how the prophecy of the mark of the Beast may have already been fulfilled in the advent of internet-enabled mobile phones. The answer to the question below addresses a number of points that have been raised recently, mostly by people asking that if the prophecy of the mark of the Beast has already been fulfilled, then what are the direct spiritual implications of using these devices now in the present. The original question is given below:
OK--this is my question. If the Mark of the Beast is the cell phone as you say... well... aren't we all now under the mark of the Beast? (Or most of us. I actually don't have a cell phone--but I use a computer!) Aren't we all being decieved now? And does this mean we are putting our salvation in jeopardy if we use one? This is just not clear to me why using a cell phone (and I understand it's not quite up to the sophisticated level you are explaining on your blog--but it's coming along with a cashless society) is somehow sinister and evil. I understand the lack of interaction with people although that's happening now. Families are falling apart, sin is rampant... it's here already!
I also understand that your every move can be detected by someone by these devices, but we're really not that far from that now also. So... I need something to see how spiritualy this sophisticated cell phone Mark of the Beast is going to make me lose the salvation of my soul. Thanks for the interesting blog.
The most fundamental question raised above is that if the mark of the Beast has been fulfilled in the advent of cell phones, then how could the use of mobile phones cause spiritual harm? To answer this, we first need to deconstruct the question itself. The quite reasonable objection that it "is just not clear to me why using a cell phone... is somehow sinister and evil", can just as easily apply to receiving a microchip implant as the mark of the Beast. The word "cell phone" (underlined above) can justifiably be replaced with the word "microchip implant", to form the statement "is just not clear to me why using a microchip implant... is somehow sinister and evil" - since the same logic applies to both. The sole difference is that we have become psychologically conditioned over the past twenty years (since the theory was first introduced) to envision the reception of a microchip implant as the mark of the Beast. This conditioning has generated a considerable amount of fear around the act of receiving a microchip implant itself, to the point where this act has become inextricably equated with the reception of the mark of the Beast, and no other possible fulfilments of this prophecy have been considered. In fact the focus has been concentrated on microchip implants so much that it has blinded the vast majority of Christians to considering any alternatives, allowing for the implementation of the prophecy to be "sneaked through the back door" in a manner which is much more consistent with how the mark of the Beast would have been conceived by Jewish Christians in the first century AD - i.e. as a diabolical inversion of the practise of wearing phylacteries - physical objects bearing the name of God which were only worn temporarily during prayer services. But both the cell phone and the postulated future microchip implant are merely pieces of technology, and both are therefore essentially the same thing. The difference resides solely in how they are worn - if you were to somehow shrink a cell phone and pop it under the skin on your hand it would basically be a much more highly sophisticated version of a "mircochip implant".
One of the primary psychological factors which has enabled the mircochip implant to be perceived as the mark of the Beast is that it is a more permanent mark, and there is also a certain fear over the bodily intrusion this would cause - as if it would be like some form of technological parasite. Over time, the equation of the mark of the Beast with its original inspiration in the Jewish practise of wearing phylacteries was forgotten by Christians, as they became more distanced from their Judaic roots. This led to the development of a more literal conception of the mark of the Beast as the actual number 666 being branded or tattooed onto the subjects of the Antichrist - and these forms of brandishings are permanent and indelible marks. So gradually, the mark became considered to be permanent, and when the barcode hypothesis surfaced in the early 1980's after the publication of Mary Stewart Relfe's books When Your Money Fails and The New Money System, which was then combined with the RFID implant theory by Peter Lalonde in his 1991 book One World Under Anti-Christ, this appeared to provide a solution as to how the Antichrist could covertly brandish his subjects with a permanent mark that would be necessary in order to engage in commerce. This idea was then wildly popularised by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins' bestselling Left Behind series, and has since become so deeply entrenched in Christian apocalyptic thought that it is almost impossible to grasp any other alternative way in which this prophecy could be fulfilled.
Yet the advent of non-intrusive biometric mapping (which is already being rolled out en masse in India) renders the use of RFID implants for identification purposes completely redundant. The use of iris and fingerprint scanning by the inbuilt camera in smartphones is already being touted as the most effective way of safeguarding NFC transactions from taking place through a stolen phone (see here). By using biometrics, the smartphone would automatically scan your iris or fingerprint before allowing any transactions to take place, bypassing the need for PIN codes.
When we look to the original practise that the prophecy of the mark of the Beast was based on, we find that phylacteries are physical box-shaped objects worn externally on the person, and they are only used temporarily. The idea of tiny objects containing barcodes being inserted under the skin (so that they would effectively be invisible), would have been extremely foreign to the mind of the original author of the Apocalypse. On a symbolic level, the mark of the Beast was meant to be understood as an open, fully visible display of allegiance to the Beast, just as the practice of wearing phylacteries was a public show of allegiance to God. This is why some Jews indulged in "keeping up with the Jones'" type behaviour, wearing ever bigger and more elaborate phylacteries to show that they honoured God more than anyone else - a practise which was condemned by Jesus:
They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others.
(Matt 23:5-7)
There is nothing in the original Greek text of the Book of Revelation which would suggest that the mark of the Beast would be worn invisibly inside the hand. In fact we find the complete opposite. The original Greek of the Apocalypse concerning the mark of the Beast reads "ἵνα δῶσιν αὐτοῖς χάραγμα ἐπὶ τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῶν τῆς δεξιᾶς" "hina dosin autois charagma epi tes cheiros auton tes dexias". The word epi used here has the primary meaning of "upon" or "on", giving the meaning of "on" or "upon" their "right hand", rather than "inside" (which would require the word mesa). Moreover, the word charagma, as well as meaning a "mark" or "stamp", can also be translated as "sculpture", or "graven image". The NAS Greek Lexicon gives the definition of the word charagma as follows:
- a stamp, an imprinted mark
- of the mark stamped on the forehead or the right hand as the badge of the followers of the Antichrist
- the mark branded upon horses
- thing carved, sculpture, graven work
- of idolatrous images
And in the one of the other instances in which this word is used in the Bible, in the Book of Acts, we find that charagma is also used in the sense of "graven image".
Being then God's offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image [chargama] formed by the art and imagination of man.
(Acts 17:29)
Also the word dosin "to give" is usually translated in the sense of the giving of an object, rather than branding with a mark. So the word we have translated into English as "mark" was quite probably originally intended to mean "graven image". Indeed this translation makes better sense in context with the earlier reference to the image of the Beast which is fashioned by the False Prophet:
It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people, and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived.
And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.
(Rev 13:13-15)
The only difference being that the word used for "image" above is εἰκόνα eikona.
So the true translation of the passage concerning the "mark" or charagma of the Beast can just as easily be (and was most likely originally intended) as follows:
Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be given a graven image on the right hand or the forehead...
(Rev 13:16)
The significance of the mark being given in the "right hand" (dexias - from which we derive the word dexterity), could suggest that the "graven image" was in some way usable - as a tool for instance, since the vast majority of people are right-handed. And if the charagma of the Beast is to be directly identified with the image of the Beast fashioned by the inhabitants of the earth at the behest of the False Prophet in Rev 13:13-15, then we are informed that this graven image has the ability to speak, and would in some way lead to a persecution of the Church (to "cause those who would not worship the image of the Beast to be slain"). But those who remain steadfast during this trial to the point of martyrdom would eventually conquer the Beast, along with its image and the number of its name (which are directly linked here), through the reckoning of the seven bowl judgments:
And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands.
(Rev 15:2)
Furthermore, the "mark" or "graven image" of the Beast is presented in the Apocalypse as a parody of the sealing of the saints after the opening of the sixth seal in Rev 7. The first time the Seal of God is alluded to in the Apocalypse is in the letters to the seven churches of Asia Minor, which is described as a white stone with a name inscribed upon it - meaning that it is a physical object like the Jewish phylactery:
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it.
(Rev 2:17)
We find that this theme of the sealing with a name recurs a number of times in the Apocalypse, and that it is parodied by the mark of the Beast, which is said to contain a number which represents the name of the Beast.
The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.
(Rev 3:12)
“Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.” And I heard the number of the sealed, 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel...

Then I looked, and behold, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.

So once we examine the textual evidence, we find that the mark of the Beast is presented as a diabolical inversion of the Jewish practise of wearing phylacteries, which are worn in a manner to symbolically represent the name of God as El Shaddai. In addition, the original Greek wording can just as easily refer to a graven image, which directly links it to the image that the False Prophet deceives the inhabitants of the earth into constructing for themselves, just as the Israelites were deluded into fashioning the Golden Calf. The image which the False Prophet incites the people into constructing has the illusion of life, and also the ability to speak. It also contains the number of the Beast, which by using the process of Hebrew gematria, can also be used to determine the name of the Beast itself. And the Greek word for "beast" - therion, has the numerical value of 666 once transliterated into Hebrew.
The mark is also the demonic counterpart to white stone engraved with a name in Rev 2:17 - which is to be identified with the Seal of God given to the saints after the opening of the sixth seal in Rev 6. And the opening of the sixth seal, during which these acts of sealings takes place, is marked on earth by a series of astronomical and geophysical signs, including an earthquake, a total solar eclipse, a total lunar eclipse and a meteor shower - all of which occurred around the turn of the millennium at the exact moment of the marriage between cell phone technology and the worldwide web (www) with the introduction of WAP - which will allow for the future of commerce to be conducted solely through the www and mobile phones (see the post Signs in the Sky). In addition, some private revelations have suggested that the prophecy of the sealing of the saints took place during the turn of the millennium (see the post The Seal of God), and Fr Stefano Gobbi predicted that the prophecy of the mark of the Beast would be fulfilled in a time period which would begin in the year 1998 - which is 666 x 3 (see the post Fr Gobbi on the Mark of the Beast).
When we take into consideration that the three letter acronym for the worldwide web (through which all future commerce will be conducted via cell phones) - www, is the numerical equivalent of three sixes once transliterated into Hebrew (using the exact method which the number of the Beast was originally encoded - gematria), then we can conclude that the modern use of mobile phones fulfils every last aspect of the prophecy of the mark of the Beast (for additional information on the equation of www with 666 see the earlier post Hebrew 666?).
Like phylacteries, they are a physical object, temporarily worn externally on the person, and as the original Greek word charagma can suggest, they are a crafted object - or "graven image". In a further correlation to the image which the False Prophet causes the inhabitants of the earth to fashion, they have the appearance of life, and also the ability to speak.
So, in answer to the question if this means that we are "all now under the mark of the Beast?", then we would have to conclude, yes we are - and have been since the first merging of cell phone technology with the worldwide web in the year 1999 (which has a further symbolism in the fact that it resembles three sixes turned upside down - and this was the year after 1998, which is 3 x 666). I understand that this can be a frightening prospect, especially in light of the verses which appear to suggest that those who accepted the mark of the Beast would be eternally condemned to hell, but we have to take into consideration that there is also a symbolic layer to this prophecy which depicts those who have accepted the mark of the Beast as all the evil people who have ever lived - they represent "those whose name was not found written in the book of life" (Rev 20:15). So there is a certain amount of hyperbole included in these verses.
We have to remember that forgiveness is one of the cornerstones of Christianity. It would be extremely difficult to reconcile theodicy (the righteous of God) with the notion that someone would be eternally condemned to hell for accepting the mark of the Beast without any possibility of salvation, especially when they have been tricked into doing so.
Since this is a Catholic blog, I assume that the majority of the readers are of the same religion. As such, Catholics are required to believe that the keys to heaven and hell - the very means of salvation, reside solely in the papal magesterium - which is protected by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, especially so when speaking ex cathedra on matters of faith and morals. Whatever form it would take, the mark of the Beast would have to be formally identified as such by the Church before it could be considered to have any spiritual effects as to the destiny of the soul. Until it does so, think of the material presented here as the "case for the prosecution". So I don't believe that using cell phones will have any immediate spiritual effects until the Church reaches a formal decision on this matter. For now, as far as I'm aware, no one of any authority in the Church is aware of these arguments - so any decision on this subject appears to be very far off indeed. So technically speaking (in theory at least), if you own one now (and the vast majority of the readers of this blog almost certainly do) it should be possible to continue using one until the Church issues a verdict itself.
For Protestants however, who adhere to sola scriptura, unfortunately there is no such protection offered - they would have to form their own decisions in the present.
As to the question concerning how the use of cell phones could be evil in itself - this is fairly simple to answer. If the cell phone can be definitely established by the Church as the fulfilment of this prophecy, this identification alone would make using it inherently evil - since it would be tantamount to accepting the mark of the Beast. There is nothing that would distinguish using a cell phone from accepting a RFID microchip implant - the sole difference being that a large number of Christians already expect the mark of the Beast to be the latter.
Yet the use of microchip implants seems to be positively morally benign compared to the propensity of the cell phone for evil purposes. The cell phone can be used as a medium to browse and upload material onto the www, viewing anything from violent and pornographic images, to arranging hook-ups with random strangers for sex. The lack of face-to-face social interaction often leads to a lack of inhibition and breaking of taboos. A recent article in the Huffington Post has highlighted the increase in the trend of "sexting" (the sending of intimate photos to partners via cell phones) amongst teenagers - which are very often shared around school yards, and the resultant humiliation and bullying can in turn lead to suicide (see here). And paedophiles are exploiting this craze by pretending to be school children themselves, encouraging children to send them explicit photographs they have taken with their cell phones - which are then circulated around paedophile rings.
The use of mobile phones is changing the way we act and live; slowly breaking down social boundaries through desensitisation and deforming the concept of moral behaviour. A microchip implant could never achieve such a capacity for leading people into immorality.
Yet, unlike a mircochip implant, everyone actually desires to have one. As well as being central to daily business operations and allowing us to keep in contact with family members, they have also become a fashion statement, with the use of older models often being met by sneers and derision - which brings us back to Jesus' condemnation of the ever more elaborate phylacteries worn by the self-aggrandising Jewish leaders in the 1st century. They have become a "catch-all" device, with in-built functions including internet gateway, gaming, camera, video recorder, and calculator. And this level of covetousness is even before they become central to engaging in commerce. The strong inclinations that will undoubtedly prevail in favour of keeping these devices means that a large number of people will already be programmed to automatically reject the idea that the cell phone could be the ultimate fulfilment of the prophecy of the mark of the Beast. They truly are a temptation worthy of the wiles of the Devil.

1 – 200 of 488 Newer› Newest»I recently read an article at Crisis Magazine which speaks of the fact that financial institutions are already using Internet technology to censor anything that speaks less than favorably about Islam; one social media site (I forget which one; it's one I personally have never heard of before) has even taken to enforcing Pakistani anti-blasphemy laws on people who are not even under the jurisdiction of Pakistani laws. Most chilling was the revelation that banks have used the revocation of credit privileges to shut down anti-Islamic sites; crowdfunding sites are refusing to accept donations to any of these sites. This makes it easy to see how the giving of the "mark" could be contingent upon worshiping the image of the beast. Conform, or you won't be allowed to conduct business.

Even more frightening is a very short video I saw on ChurchPop just yesterday, which cites research that has proven the potential of cell phones for actual irreversible brain damage. Rats who are exposed to cell-phone image on a level comparable to daily usage by humans show a reduction in their ability to negotiate mazes, and they do not recover when the phones are removed. While I've heard such arguments before, I'm beginning to wonder if it may not be contributing to the seeming inability of modern society to engage in rational debate, defaulting instead to ad hominem attacks in response to any opposing viewpoint. Thinking of your point that the RFID theory has lulled people into accepting cell phones as "safe," this observed reduction in mental acuity plays right into Satan's hands.

It's particularly telling when most who work in the computer field refuse to give their children cell phones; I know a few who have completely rejected the smart phone, sticking instead to the old flip-phones.

As for Partiarch Kirill and his remarks, I find it particularly telling that this comes out fairly soon after Putin, in a discussion with Pope Francis, brought up the possibility of the Consecration of Russia; the Pope shut him down with the flat statement, "We will not discuss Fatima." (It is of note that the late Father Gruner once remarked that he had the impression that the Consecration would only come about when Russia herself asked for it.)

It's interesting that Cardinal Biffi appealed to Soloviev's writings concerning the Antichrist in the year 2000, just as the internet was merging with mobile phone technology to give rise to the modern smartphone. I'm going to have to look into Soloviev's writings some more.

Speculation over whether a particular Pope is going to end up being the one in the vision runs rife every time a new Pope is elected, particularly since 2000. What for me was truly extraordinary and deeply apocalyptic was the decision to light the World Trade Center (I confess I didn't know they'd rebuilt it) pink after the New York bill was passed. Now if such a crass and brazen act as that isn't calling down Divine judgement upon the city then I don't know what is. It was a two-fingered salute to God. Nothing less than that.
The last section of JRR Tolkien's 'The Silmarillion' - 'Akallabeth' - is very instructive in this regard, I feel. It tells the story of the great civilisation of Numenor, which at first worked hand in hand with the Holy Ones (the Valar, as Tolkien calls his gods), then sunk to paying lip service, before openly turning against them and actually trying to conquer the Heavenly realm. Towards the end, Sauron, the Satanic 'Lord of the Rings', stands on top of the highest tower in Numenor and openly challenges and defies the Valar. Numenor is shortly afterwards destroyed.
It is impossible for me to see the decision to light up the WTC in any other light than that of this story. We have talked a lot here about comets and blood moons and more, and all those things have their place and are all worth watching. But this incident is in a different, entirely man-made league to me. It's a colossal red flag, a celebration and festival of evil, an act of wanton, calculated hubris which cannot but have the most serious of consequences. The new WTC buildings are all glass and steel, just like the original buildings. But the design is entirely different. The originals had some art-deco-type embellishments which are absent in the new buildings; they are plain, unadorned glass-and-steel monoliths. That's ugly enough in the daytime as they reflect the color of the sky around them. (I've never seen the new buildings in person, as I haven't been anywhere near New York in over thirty years. I've only seen pictures, and they're bad enough.) Their daytime impression is of strictly utilitarian buildings with nothing to make them beautiful, just like every other skyscraper built since about 1960. At night - again, still going by photographs alone - the ambience changes completely. That picture of the top of the tower lit pink...in the photo it looked more like red, and the building itself looked black. The thought that popped into my head is that it looked like some kind of demonic monument.

The United Nations (UN) will mark the World Interfaith Harmony Week which is an annual event observed during the first week of February, according to the official website of the Organization.
World Interfaith Harmony Week was proclaimed by the General Assembly’s resolution adopted on 20 October 2010. In the document, the General Assembly, points out that mutual understanding and interreligious dialogue constitute important dimensions of a culture of peace and establishes World Interfaith Harmony Week as a way to promote harmony between all people regardless of their faith.

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn seemed to have some good insights into the prophetic significance of this event concerning Isaiah 9:10 judgement:

There is a shortage of faith at this time. Here in Canada, we see catholic churches being closed; practicing catholics have been diminishing for decades now.
The loss of faith may explain why people fall for the lies we have being fed with since 9-11, this event being to this day very very nebulous. And so are many other events since.

To anon to spoke about China controlling through computers, I don't think so. During the Great Depression, factories and markets closed all over the world, not just in this country. Then World War II broke out. Due to the decreased production capacity, the civilian population of most countries went into rationing in order to make more available for the military. EVERYTHING was rationed, from clothing to food to fuel. The need for steel was so acute that people were asked to turn in their cast-iron cookware to be recycled; it was then that aluminum pots became ubiquitous. Your used cooking grease was even requested for recycling. Here in the US, we had something called "Meatless Tuesdays," intended to cut down on our consumption of meat to make more available for our military.

I always found it inspiring to read about how everyone pulled together during that time, but make no mistake: The hardship was very real. And it will be worse this time, because while SOME production continued during the Great Depression, today there is almost NO production going on in the US; almost everything is outsourced. Check the labels the next time you go shopping: Except for food and Lodge Cast Iron cookware, when was the last time you saw something that said "Made in the USA"?
JMC, China has a symbiotic relationship with America in which it would only damage itself should it cut economic ties with the U.S. Personally as someone who has experience in producing foods for long term sustainability I would highly recommend to anyone to get away from any dependence on the materialistic consumer republics of the west. Usury and the inordinate desire to hoard by those who practice it is what brought about the Great Depression and what will likely contribute to future world calamity.
I am entering into a monastic community next month, I was telling one of the hieromonks (ordained priest monk) who is like a brother to me that in my estimation God is taking the Church through a lot along the lines of what transpired in the Old Testament. On a national level I think what is transpiring in America has many similarities with the waning days of the Roman empire. I feel like we're entering into a period where the Church, the remaining faithful people, will be held together by embracing a monastic mindset. If we look at the role of the Benedictines during the dark ages that is what I see in our future only in a contemporary setting.

Brian I do not have a link, it is more private conversation as well as comments back and forth on Facebook and YouTube. EMJ tends to be more responsive to direct contact more than most people you might randomly contact online, so long as you have something meriting discussion. Anyone can check out CultureWars.com or look him up on YouTube. He has caught a lot of heat for what he talks about such as his anti-Jewish stance (NOT anti-Semitic), openness to relations with Iran, and generally challenging the status quo of global oligarchy. If you actually listen to what he shares and use reason to discern the truth in what he is saying I think any person who is not hard biased or just insane would find his knowledge and wisdom to be invaluable.
I think the tide is turning in the world. I have seen a great raising in consciousness in the new year and it seems that with every bad story comes a near immediate net positive response. If a guy like me from a Jewish family can embrace the FACT that Jesus Christ is the Messiah and see the great goodness that is coming in the days ahead, I just feel like though some may be blinded to it we never need lose hope with what may be transpiring at any given time.

The scripture you are referring to clearly speaks of the destruction of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem during 70ad after the Jews led a failed revolution against the Roman Empire. The Jews were decimated and what remained of the ancient Hebrew religion was nearly destroyed. The few Jews that escaped this horror fled to lands held by the Turks and began a new religion based on what the Pharisees held which was developed and written in the Talmud. This is the Rabbinic Judiasm that continues to exist today and mind you that this religion came into existence AFTER Christianity was established through Christ and His Church.
The greatest issue I take with Talmudic Jews is how they want to claim the pre-Christian Hebrew religion as their own while refusing to acknowledge that every aspect of it lead up to the coming of Jesus Christ the Messiah. Pre and post Christian Judiasm could not coincide with one another less in reality.

We need to pray for God's Mercy to be bestowed upon all people but of course we can pray for specific intentions. In the case of the Jews all are in need of fulfilling the Old Covenant by entering into the New Covenant. In a particular way we need to pray for those who have worked their way into a position of great influence over communications, education, media, banking, and government. Jewish people are an absolute minority in every place on earth aside from the nation state of Israel and yet in every place the powerful Jews have been allowed to get a foothold with their influence they have ended up imposing an incredible amount of control of social and technological functions of that culture and society.
Some notable people I can think of who fit this description are George Soros, Sheldon Adelson, Marc Benioff, most of Hollywood, the pornography business, and the list goes on. Bernard Nathanson is one of the best examples of Jews who converted to Catholicism in recent history.

We have to look to the weekly protests in France to see that the ruling elite is opposed more and more.
I think that this elite lost legitimity in 2001 because the 9-11 events were so nebulous, so much so that to make people losing faith in their ruling elites.
The thing to do should be to stop participating in the elections sham organized by those elites.

It could be speculations if there was no other prophecies confirming that we are in the end times; I think particularly about the prophecy of the Popes by Saint Malachy. According to this prophecy, pope Francis is the last pope and Jesus will return during his pontificate.
And there are other prophecies like in Kibeho where Our Lady said that the return of Jesus is near.

Anon it is interesting you bring up Saint Malachy, I was reading a commentary on Thomas Merton yesterday and his book The Seven Story Mountain. I also read a commentary on Saint Malachy that refers to the destruction of the Seven Hilled City as part of his prophecy. I apologize because I often make a mental connection that I cannot properly explain but part of me thinks that the Seven Story Mountain and the Seven Hilled City may be the same. The Merton commentary was speaking the Seven Storey Mountain's critique of Harlem and how in Merton's lifetime it embodied the contemporary culture of sin. The term "Seven Storey Mountain" refers to purgatory and it seems that Harlem defined a place in most need to repentance and mercy.
The term "Seven Hilled City" commonly refers to Rome, however, let it be known that it also refers to Albany, Yonkers, and Staten Island in the State of New York. Perhaps Saint Malachy's prophecy refers to New York in some capacity? Emmett might reckon that with Cumbre Vieja. In light of the mountains of sin throughout New York's history and with the recent legalization of all abortions in this state there is a part of me that thinks that it will not escape God's wraith and may even be the example target. Forgive me as at this time I cannot put into words what was in my mind making these connections.

The quote from St. Malachy goes as follows:
"In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will reign Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people."
While the "city of seven hills" has always been interpreted as Rome, the cites of Constantinople (the "new Rome") and Moscow (which Russian Orthodox Christians regard as the "new Constantinople") are also built on seven hills. It seems that having seven hills was seen as a really good sign for the founding of a city in ancient times. On closer inspection, I note that the city of Armagh is also on the list - St. Malachy was the Archbishop of Armagh... :)

I saw that book about the Vatican today as well, Chris.
And my diocese posted a list of priests with credible claims of abuse. I knew at least two of them. One was prominent in my RCIA class, and I went to him for confession many times. Now he turns out to have been after little boys at about the same time he was at our parish. And there's a prominent name there, with a family that contributed several priests over the years.
And three of the past four bishops either encouraged the abuse or looked the other way.
The corruption is top to bottom. I don't think anyone can be trusted in the hierarchy or priesthood anymore. Or perhaps it's better to say that the priests and bishops would need to prove themselves before we trust them.
I humbly think that in this period we are in we must focus on prayers, fasting and on the sacraments of the Catholic Church.
Sadly, I think some people are upset because Jesus is coming soon. It is very depressing to notice this fact but maybe not surprising if you consider that His message was not so well received when He came the first time.

Hi anon, like I said I cannot put into words the correlation I am attempting to make. Instead of thinking in terms of Seven _______ _______ I would rather focus attention on New York, the city and state. For the longest time it has been perhaps the largest haven for all things anti-Christ, I commonly refer to it as Babylon. As an entity it seems like it has no problem doing things in prideful defiance of God's mercy and I would go so far to say that they are arrogant in their actions knowing that they may be incurring God'sGod's wrath.
My brother has lived in New York City since 1998 and was downtown during 9/11. I remember visiting him shortly after, I just fear that as much of an impact that 9/11 had on that city and the psyche of its inhabitants... it will be a routine fire drill compared to God's wrath that this city and state may have to face in the end days.
You have to think that prophecies and signs coming from God are not unmeaningful.
The prophecy of the Popes is very important and also signs like blood moons like the last one in january.
I was wondering about comet Hale Bopp; I remember how bright it was. It is known that comets are harbingers. And for a comet that spectacular, I was surprised that nothing very significant has happened.
Maybe it was for some event in a more distant future than usual because there will not be such a comet for a long long time.
I know that the closest approach of the earth by Hale-Bopp was on March 22 1997.
And it will be 22 years next month since the passage of this comet.
Maybe Jesus will manifest Himself at that time. I think it is very near.

I'd never even heard of this. And it actually strikes pretty close to home on a couple of counts. First, based on Mary's comments about the youth of America, and the timing of the messages - I was one of the youths she was talking about. I was born 5 years after the apparitions started. And I was born about 140 miles south of where the apparitions began, and about 70 miles from where the first statue was carved. There are some other things that are a bit more personal. But as I say, this really strikes close to home.
There's a lot of material out there, and I'm going to have to do some reading on it. But if you ever have a chance to look into this, Emmett, I'd love to get your opinion on it.

To Chris. Remember St John Paul 11 said that the secret had been revealed in full in 2000. Now as Catholics I believe we should believe him. I do not think that Father Kramer or Father Hesse are credible after all they are calling St John Paul 11 a liar when they say that the secret was not revealed. Think about this?

It was not fully revealed in 2000, but, over the years both before and since, parts of it have been hinted at by people who have read the secret. Gathering all those hints together, we have a pretty good idea of what the secret says - it's all about the current scandal, the coming chastisements, and so on. So in that sense, yes, the secret has been revealed. We are only missing specific details - one of the Popes, I forget which one, hinted that there are dates involved, when he said something to the effect of, why would anyone want to know when a catastrophic flood will occur that will kill thousands in mere minutes? One Cardinal said that, if the full Secret were revealed, the lines for confession would stretch around the block at every church.

As for the vision that was described to us in 2000, that was no "secret" at all; it had previously been published in a book at least as early as 1990; I don't recall the name of the book, and I no longer have it in my possession, but I do remember the description. The book also said that Our Lady explained the vision to the children, but that the words she spoke were part of the secret. So I think what JPII was trying to tell us was that, it has been revealed, as I said above, in the sense that all the clues are out there for us to put together.

I am nor learned enough to be able to discern the current trends. however, if we are to believe the BVM's warnings through Her appearing over the years how can we expect to read and live through actions that we have to understand are not with the Church !!
I did some reading about Our Lady of America last night...I'd never heard of this devotion before, either. It's interesting to note that these apparitions, in the 1950s, appear to have been, at least in part, Heaven's plan to stave off the Sexual Revolution. Of course, as we now know, man did not cooperate, and here we are. Yet Our Lady also promised that America would eventually convert after the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart.

What I'm getting out of this is, just as Russia and America were enemies during the Cold War, so are they to be allies in rebuilding the Church and the world after the Triumph. It ties right in with the later visions of Sister Lucia, where Our Lady told her that America would be the next to convert after Russia.

I'm going back a-ways here, but I haven't been to the site for awhile. I couldn't recommend Soloviev's short book on the Antichrist enough, it is kind of presented in maybe a semi-allegorical way, but in the book what the Antichrist offers each of the "interest groups" (for lack of a better term), including the major churches, makes so much sense that it gave me those kind of Holy Spirit-chills (if anyone has had them before you'll know what I mean). I read it in one sitting, and the sheer logic of what the Antichrist does in offering each group what their greatest earthly desire showed me how compelling an argument the diabolical can make. It shook me so much that after reading it many years ago I haven't picked it up since.
I thought you may have read it Emmett, but it appears like you may not have yet... I couldn't recommend it enough, I have a feeling it may speak to you much more even than it did to me with your gift of the interpretation of prophecy I fully believe you have that I don't.
Oh, also, on cellphone dangers, none of us at tech support or the engineers or programmers or network architects or systems analysts at the Telco I work for would let any of our kids use cellphones without headsets. It isn't even disputed that the microwave radiation easily penetrates a child's much less dense and thick skull and right into their brain tissue. I've read a couple of very damning studies out of Scandinavia in the course of working there as far as future liability claims that have almost been sort of suppressed, though they are out there if you dig (e.g. the book "Disconnect: The Truth About Cell Phone Radiation" from 2013 is a great starting point if anyone is interested). Trust people on the tech side of the industry, we all know how dangerous cellphones are especially to children. No kid should ever, *ever*, hold a cellphone anywhere close to their head.
I refuse to talk on the phone except in speaker mode, and turn my phone right off if I have to carry it anywhere close to my prostate or testicles, like in a back pocket). The danger is real, and I could very easily see a huge, huge spike in brain cancers and tumours in the years ahead, it isn't any secret that microwaves like the type that travel from the transmitters in cellphones cause cancer. I think people are so addicted to their hand-held devices that most don't even want to know the truth about it, or Pollyanna-ishly think, "If mobiles were at all dangerous then they wouldn't be so omnipresent", being naive about what corporations will knowingly keep secret when the almighty buck and the almost idolatry of the insatiable march of technological advancement is involved.

Regarding the conversión of the Jews before end times. Is it such a silly question to ask who are the Jews today? 12 tribes from the diáspora remain missing.

Brian, thanks so much for the link (and especially the preamble and postscript!), I didn't think there was a free version of this available online. Reading this again, especially the part which describes the interior thoughts of the Antichrist was just as chilling as it was when I first read this. The parallels between the book the Antichrist writes that is the springboard to his huge overnight popularity and "Mein Kampf" brought to mind Emmett's writing about Hitler having been almost a potential Antichrist, and maybe the False Prophet, also the references to the Antichrist in this short tale as *the* Superman, der Ubermensch, is also so reminiscent of the ideology of Nazism and of the blasphemous writings of Nietzsche and deceptive romanticism of Wagner which informed and influenced Nazi ideology.
I also again got the sense that the story is allegorical (as it feels like certain aspects are already in play of a spiritual level in the world), but also the specificity makes it read like something that has a least a literal meaning as well. "When the Emperor, accompanied by the great magician and his suite, made his entrance, the band began to play the "March of Unified Humanity,", this song brought to mind the anthem of international Communism, "The Internationale". Maybe Stalin and Hitler were two sides to the same coin as far as foreshadowings of the Antichrist? I really worry about the eternal fate of so many of my family members who died fighting in the various branches of the Wehrmacht (mostly the Heer on the Eastern Front); I get a sense that the vast majority of the soldiers fighting for either atheistic Nazism or atheistic Communism that died in the war may have ended up damned to Hell in the millions (was this alluded to in the vision of Hell shown to the visionaries of Fatima?). But that's another topic.
I would be so, so very interested on absolutely anyone and everyone who may read this here's take on Soloviev's short book. My discernment seems to fail me for some reason when it comes to this book in a way, I feel a little disturbed just reading it again but still felt compelled... but I know the contributors to this forum include lots of folks with a lot of wisdom from the Holy Spirit, and as I wrote above, what I believe Emmett in particular has as a really special gift when it comes to interrupting and integrating prophecy from what initially can seem like disparate sources.
p.s. Mark and JMC, thanks for pointing out the short story on the Antichrist is just a small part of a larger work of Soloviev's (no wonder the book I bought was only 44 pages in a large font)... I'm anxious to read the entire work now at the link you gave Mark, thank you!
I admit to having skipped ahead tonight to read some of the section on the Antichrist. Perhaps Soloviev was given a touch of the charism of prophecy, because some of the things he described about the beginning of the 20th century sound more like what's happening now, in the early years of the twenty-first - Europe struggling with the Moslems, and China starting to do some sword-rattling again, though at least we're not threatened by anything like the Pan-Mongolism Soloviev mentions; if anything, China and Japan seem to be more at loggerheads than ever.

I really don't get the need people have to share every single facet of their lives with the world...and the horror they express at being "out of touch" for even a minute. The only reason I even have a Facebook account is that on some news sites, the only way you can log in to comment is through Facebook.
Dr. E Michael Jones posted another excellent video interview on YouTube recently where he spoke to the fact that the Jew oligarchs are losing their control over the media narrative due to the controversies surrounding people like Ralph Northam and Jussie Smollett, who both happen to be on the forefront of pushing the anti-Christ agenda.
God has often used those against him to foil their own plans throughout history. I will NEVER be an apologist for Adolf Hitler but I have heard some suggest that God may have used him (or permitted satan to use Hitler) as an instrument of punishment against the world. It is easy to look back on the Holocaust and talk about how many innocents were murdered, Jew or otherwise, but I think what may be just as bad if not worse is the lack of charity on display by those who could easily have taken some of those victims into safety and either refused or were at least apathetic to their plight. These villains include the power brokers in America, Britain, and what would come to be the nation state of Israel.
We could easily draw parallels between then and our current day. The oppression of eugenics has been fully embraced in our culture and enforced by national government. Not only are the eugenic practices of abortion, contraception, sterilization, euthanasia, and infanticide accepted they are being celebrated. Sodomy, accepted and celebrated. Usury, accepted and celebrated. I am confident, however, that God will continue to turn the wisdom of the wise on its head so to show those imposing these evils on the world that they are fighting a losing battle in hopes of converting hearts and minds.
I few for the Jews though as they have an engrained proclivity to push the boundaries of cultural acceptance. I fear God will permit a great horror to play out against them that will be far more devastating than the Holocaust. As an expert in the practice of Chutzpah myself I know how the reaction can lead to violence which is often countered by violence and unfortunately by design.

So it's clear that God still holds a special regard for the Jews; they are still His Chosen People. However, Talmudic Judaism, if I understood Dr. Pitre's lecture correctly, is more closely related to the pharisaical practices of Our Lord's time, many of which he was less than pleased with, to put it mildly. I don't think it's a question of "old" vs. "new" covenant so much as it is that Christianity is simply the *completion* of the Mosaic covenant.

JMC, yes Talmudic Judiasm is the successor of the Pharisaic Jewish renewal movement. Without the Temple, priesthood, and sacrifices the Judiasm that existed before 70ad ceased to fuction. What replaced it was Rabbinic Judiasm based around the debate society of the Pharisees.
God forgets no one, even those condemned to hell that have separated themselves from Him. The Jews were God's Choosen People, choosen to receive the first fruits of Jesus Christ the Messiah. Anon, we need to consider the context of what "choosen people" means. I am of the opinion, based on scripture, that the Jews were those choosen by God to be the first to receive the message of salvation. I believe God is STILL waiting for many of these choosen people to be open and receptive to that message of salvation, from my perspective the main issue is that post-Christian Judaism has served as a roadblock for many Jews to hear and know that message so to foster their conversion.
Sister Lucia simply echoed and reaffirmed that reality in my estimation, nothing has changed as far as the Jews being those people choosen by God to receive the first fruits of Christ. That being said, I submit to you that to be Jewish is to live in rejection of those first fruits either deliberately or ignorantly. A gift can be offered but that which is offered may be refused.

Emmett and I were discussing something on Facebook a few months ago that I recalled after reading these comments on Noah. It is said that it took Noah 100-120 years to complete the ark after God gave him the commission to do so. I will quote what Emmett said below,

If the phenomenal amounts of rain some areas of the American Southeast have received this winter are any indication, I can fully believe that things are pointing to this spring. As it is, the ground is already so saturated that every time we have even a light drizzle now, flood warnings go out. And with the amount of snow they've had up north, once the spring thaw starts, matters are only going to get worse. Local rivers down here are already at the top of their beds (my personal observation), and the overflow channels are filling. We're expecting a right mess this spring. While the area I live in personally is high ground, and is not expected to have flooding problems locally, we are expecting possible isolation for a while as roads become impassable. (This happened in November of 2017, when we had four days of nonstop downpour. We couldn't get to town for something like three or four weeks, because the bridges were all out.)

I have been doing more and more research lately on subjects related to what we've been discussing and had even been thinking on these subjects in months prior to even engaging in this discussion with you all. I was having a discussion with EMJ about antisemitism and how I had come across a YouTube video blogger who made a video about what antisemitism is. He blogger related how he thought that antisemitism is an unclean spirit, not necessarily an original thought of man but rather an evil idea put into the mind of man. It has its origin in the not too distant past, the 19th century German agitator Wilheim Marr. It is a term of biological determinism referring to the notion that Jewish people are inherently flawed due to their DNA. I firmly reject this myself, what I find most troubling is that the term antisemitism has evolved into a means to deflect any criticism of Jewish people, merited or not. Jewish people are using antisemitism as a shield to prevent themselves from coming to terms with the reality of Jesus Christ the Messiah. Having researched unclean spirits I came across this:

Perhaps I was thinking that as Jesus described those he would refer in John's Gospel Chapter 8, "you are of your father the devil and your will is to do your father's desires." The fallen angels fell because they refused to render obedience and service to the Lord God, the entirety of the history of the Jewish people has to do with their rejection of God and God's efforts to reconcile His Choosen People with Him. There is a parallel connection here, heavenly servants that reject God and earthly servants that reject God. The unclean spirits that reject God have influenced the earthly, be their Jew or opponents of the Jewish people, to subvert the truth of the Logos.

@JMC, being a Byzantine Catholic myself I adhere to the Eastern Christian tradition to interpreting the Book of Revelation primarily through liturgical practice. I do not believe I can adequately describe this, it is something you have to participate in to fully grasp IMHO. That being said I would not think that the Holocaust of WW2 is what you refer to but I think that God has a habit of recapitulating past events. So what we have seen with the Holocaust may be recapitulated in the future, and perhaps to a more devastating effect, should God want to use such an occurrence to teach us to learn from our past mistakes so that we do not repeat them to the point to where the actions of our free will cause greater future calamity.
This is the lesson that he tried to teach the Ancient Hebrews and the Jewish people of antiquity and since. Hell God has sought to teach these lessons to the entire world and even his most faithful Christians often fail miserably. If there is anything universal about the Catholic Church it is the message of God's mercy available to all and God's ceaseless efforts to reunify all to Him and among one another. 2 Timothy 24-26 says:
"The Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kindly to every one, an apt teacher, forbearing, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth, and they may escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will."
This is written by Saint Paul, formerly the chief persecutor of Christians, and God granted him such an opportunity that Paul made the best of. Through the prayers of the Theotokos, may God give all of every person the opportunity to receive such grace. Pray that even God's greatest opponents may be open and receptive to this mercy as Paul was.

@chris, many including myself are of the belief that Jesus was made incarnate and crucified on the same date being March 25th or that the Resurrection of Christ occurred on the same day as the Annunciation (known as Kyriopascha in Eastern Christianity).

@chris, I think Mr. Cahn is making a lot of the same connections that we've been discussing here in this thread and throughout this blog for years. I have not read Emmett's book, I did however order a copy for the monastery, but one thing I have considered in light of what Emmett has suggested about Cumbre Vieja and my knowledge of Marian apparitions is that perhaps what our prayers and penance are holding back is in fact Cumbre Vieja and its impending destruction. I have read so many varied accounts of what COULD happen should it fall and part of me thinks that it is the cup of wrath that will be poured out upon America, to what extent though is based on her sinfulness and the efforts of the faithful to offer what they're able to the Theotokos so that she can mitigate on our behalf.
Going back to what I posted about the Holocaust, Lazar Kaganovich was a Jew that was the mastermind behind the Soviet Union's anti-Jewish pogroms. Now we have Catholics like Andrew Cuomo who are championing infanticide and abortion among many others in the past who have advanced the cause of sodomy and political adultery known as eugenics. The key difference being that Kaganovich operated in a dictatorship by force whereas Cuomo operates within a dictatorship by manipulation. As bad as Marxism/socialism/communism is I think that capitalism is a far greater threat to the subversion of the Logos due to the fact that its goal is to condition the unwitting to do themselves voluntarily what the opposite side would force them to do. This subversion has rendered Christianity decadent in the minds of many of the previously faithful servants of God.

I remember Father Menard, a holy priest, while preaching, telling the faithful that there are people who are not happy about the Second Coming of Jesus, as there was people not happy with His first Coming.

Now the 'return' of Jesus per John 14 for the Bride I believe occurs before the 7-year Tribulation and yes, this year up to 2022 will be very high watch years for me.

Kevin, are there any websites you would recommend for one to learn about Byzantine Catholicism? I was privileged to attend a Byzantine Mass many years ago; I found the beauty of it breathtaking. Since then I have wanted to learn more, but haven't been able to find any resources that didn't presuppose familiarity with the Byzantine Rite, and there are no Eastern Rite parishes or religious houses in my area.
Just out of the sake of curiousity and comparitive studies, I've been reading a lot about Islamic Eschatology, and though I'm not saying it's not a deception and heresy, sometimes, as with the Greek myths telling of how the beginning of destruction of the world basically is bound somewhere in the Canary Islands, sometimes some truth can be found in falsehoods, it makes the lie easier to swallow.
Anyway, so many of their own quite specific signs of the end times, maybe lifted straight out of the Book of Revelation in one form or another, have either come true or the technology is now available to come true in the near future. I believe that their belief in the role of Isa (their "version" of Jesus) could in fact be the Antichrist himself instead of the defeater of the Antichrist for instance, but, in reading about the Dābbat al-Arḍ I can't help by be struck by all the really strange characteristics of it being a very good ancient interpretation of the Internet, something that hasn't been lost on Muslim scholars. Some of the stuff I came across as far as commentary was downright chilling in how close it matched Emmett's interpretation of the World Wide Web being the seed of the Beast system of commerce.
p.s. I would not recommend looking at this stuff unless you are really strong in your own faith, and the history of Islam as a Catholic heresy (there are free texts at EWTN's website that lay the history out quite well and clearly).
Oh, I meant to mention, I'm a big believer in the idea that Our Lord was crucified on the same day He was conceived, like the Jewish tradition that all the prophets in the Bible lived a complete amount of years, all dying on the same day as they were conceived, and that March 25th is that date. I forget the exact private revelation, and it was in the Dupont book so I'm not sure of the veracity of it in the first place, but I think it involved a certain chastisement (possibly) falling over an Easter weekend where Good Friday falls on the Feast of the Annunciation... the imagery was that of the Pieta, but the text implied something along those lines, or at least an interpretation of it somewhere did... does anyone remember coming across this one (my Dupont book is away in storage or I'd look it up).
Also, I've brought this up before, but I have such a strong, almost obsessive, sense that the 2020 Re-Dedication of England as the Dowry of Our Lady is going to be some sort of very important event related to the promises of Fatima, and other approved Marian apparitions since, or a trigger for some sort of big event in eschatological terms.
I don't know if this means after a potentially disorderly Brexit England is going to go through some sort of suffering that heals the division, and brings the Church of England back into the fold of the Catholic Church en masse, as suffering nations often seem to do; it may be hard to think a nation like England where atheism has spread so quickly, and the CoE's relationship with Freemasonry, how an entire nation could turn sincerely back to God, but some sort of extreme hardship such as a war, possibly nuclear, well, as they say, there are no atheists in a foxhole.
Or if the Minor Chastisement may take place even in the interim, and that will be why England will be so knowingly and desperately in need of Our Lady's intervention (I know it doesn't fit the timeline with the mega tsunami, but perhaps they are hit by a nuclear strike, or suffer mass hunger due to having no trade agreements in place and being very much dependent on food exports (and with the whole idea of recapitulation, perhaps hunger might be the particular suffering used to bring England back into the Catholic fold knowing the history of the Great Hunger and the manufactured famines in India by Churchill).
Or maybe if the Great Monarch is to come from England possibly, maybe England becoming a fully Catholic nation again is a necessary precursor to that being able to happen? I know I'm setting myself up to look foolish taking such stabs in the dark here, but my spiritual side seems to tuned into this as being a very important event, well, I guess time will tell in any case if it comes and goes with nothing happening, but since the years 2019 to 2020 were part of the discussion already I thought it wouldn't hurt to stick my neck out and chime in.
p.p.s. I don't go near as much as I probably want to, but I love the different liturgy at Ukrainian Catholic parishes, they have a reverence that reminds me of Latin Rite Catholicism when I was really young (and I was born in 1970, so post Vatican II, but still remember the altar with the big veil, the use of incense at every Mass, etc.). I was intimidated as heck going to an Eastern Rite Mass for the first time, but I called the priest beforehand and he had me come in prior and explained what I should do and when, how to receive the Eucharist in the proper way, etc. Even just to experience it once, I couldn't recommend it enough.
Jason, you may be onto something with the Rededication of England. I know it was the first thing that popped into my mind when I read it. Knowing the way Our Lady tends to intercede, and the power of her intercessions, it seems just the sort of thing she would bring about.

@Jason R. not that I would wish it upon the British but considering the fact that they starved the Germans into submission during WW1 and after WW2 as well as what they had done to India and other colonies during their imperial history, it might seem fitting that a wrath they might incur would involve a national inability to feed themselves. I for one am not one of those Americans who has bought into the lionization of Winston Churchill, in fact I think of him as one of the greatest villains of the 20th century.
This is way O/Ts, but, yes, over two million German civilians were intentionally starved that winter of 1946 after the war (and ethnic Germans from the east murdered in huge numbers as they were ethnically cleansed, or imprisoned in the Soviet gulag system). My dad's family had lived in Galicia in the same village for almost 700 years, and were among those imprisoned in Soviet "work camps", and all ethnic Germans from the Danube to the Volga were very brutally driven from their homes under the most lucky of the circumstances.
I wonder if the same level of ethnic cleansing would have occurred in former Yugoslavia in the 90s if what happened immediately post-war, to ethnic Germans in the east in particular, had been more widely known/acknowledged. Though I guess some would think these Germans got what they deserved, even though the majority were never even citizens of the Reich, using the concept of collective guilt, just as the Nazis used it.
In the American and French occupation zones over one million German POWs died from intentional starvation and exposure between 1945 and 1948 (kept in huge open air enclosures year-round in violation of the Geneva Convention), but with what happened during the Holocaust hardly a voice was raised in protest, I guess not unexpectedly (in this case, for a change, it was actually British outrage among their high command that actually stopped the American/French policy, along with the beginnings of the Cold War).
Books by very respected historians (not historical revisionists by any stretch), like "After the Reich" by Michael Burleigh, "Other Losses" by James Bacque, and "A Terrible Revenge" by Alfred Maurice de Zayas, all detail irrefutably all of these Allied war-crimes after the conflict officially ended, but it's like a dirty little secret to the general public in the West for some reason, I guess an extreme example of victors' justice the world doesn't seem interested in knowing because it breaks the simpler narrative of the Allies being purely "the good guys"? It's a sad footnote in any case, and still a tragedy even with the much bigger tragedy of all that happened, the slaughter of the Second World War the Nazis engaged in, like, two wrongs do not make a right as we are taught as children. *puts away soapbox*.

I haven't completely given up hope that the world can change, but I think it's going to take something miraculous, like a physical and durable miraculous sign (e.g. a supernatural image of the Cross or Crucifixion over Jerusalem, Fatima, or wherever it might happen to appear if it is something that may happen), or the Minor Chastisement, either a nuclear war or unprecedented catastrophic weather events, volcanos, earthquakes, or devastation caused by the planet moving through the debris trail of a comet (which could very much cause a catastrophe inline with that foreseen in the Akita apparition).
Whatever might cause a breakdown in our current societies (that slaughter our most innocent as modern-day sacrifices to Moloch, ignore the need of the poor and others in our society that are seen as disposable and not worthy of helping, all that, a wholesale move to atheism and morals as in the time of Noah), though we know we'll never have a perfect society before Jesus' return, we might still get back to having the same morals and values that we did prior to the degeneration we've seen since the beginning of the 20th century or so in the West at least, if we lose everything, even having to live in a pre-industrial way if all our worldly advancements are destroyed beyond any means of repair.
But, yes, our weapons in this battle are the true conversion of our own hearts, turning more sincerely and completely in every way towards Our Lord and the intervention of Our Lady, the Rosary, regular reception of the Sacraments, and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. These are the most powerful tools we have as gifts at our disposal, more than all our non-spiritual efforts could ever do combined (not that we shouldn't follow the Beatitudes as well with our physical efforts, but they do pale in comparison as this is a battle taking place in the spiritual realm first and foremost I have a feeling).
Yes, this is a battle in the spiritual realm. It's the devil's final battle, in fact; and, as Sister Lucy warned, this time he is focusing on marriage and the family - though that does not rule out other evils. Personally, I believe that EVERY great evil in the world is merely a material manifestation of what is primarily a battle in the spiritual realm.

When Lady Day falls on Good Friday, it is transferred to the Monday following Low Sunday (the Sunday after Easter). English folk belief is that this coincidence of dates is a bad sign, and that bad luck is sure to follow it. The English say, "If Our Lord falls in Our Lady's lap, England will meet with a strange mishap." Our Lord "fall in Our Lady's lap" in 2016 just before the Brexit vote....

MigthyRighty, yes!! These are both of the folk-lore/prophetic precognitions or whatever they'd be called, that have been haunting me, but I had read a really long time ago. Reading that the first took place in 2016 gave me the chills, and the second, well, no wonder I've been preoccupied with the Rededication of England as the Dowry of Our Lady next year being close to the 25th, and a likely transition period that would likely be granted even in the case of a no-Deal Brexit just because of all the frankly disaster-prep the UK gov;'t will have to prepare for, would be exactly one year, rather than the 2 years associated with a negotiated Brexit... double-shivers, triple-shivers!
Thanks not just for posting these ones, but also associating them with our extremely contemporary events it seems. Frightening a bit because I believe looking at the state of the world with no turning back from it's course in the exact opposite direction of Our Lord's known and manifested will, through the Church, Holy Scripture and the Deposit of Faith in particular, that nothing less than the Minor Chastisement, a misnomer of course because a most likely candidate for this chastisement could be an all out-nuclear war driven by the new and aggressive arms race by both the Russians and the Americans, which will eventually lead to an inevitable first-strike by one side or the other, with missiles so incredibly fast and elusive now that from launch time to detonation time is down to 11 to 12 minutes I've read, not a lot of time for the other side to respond relying on any human elements.
This alone will ratchet up tensions and the likelihood of each side wanting to get in the first punch, but add to that in the field of geopolitics it is kind of a settled question that Russia and the US just by the nature of where they are placed in the world and their sizes and relative strengths in military advancements at least make them near inevitable rivals if not outright enemies. And add in AI, a response time under a minute would be no problem, maybe even quicker than that, maybe an instantaneous response time as hyper-sonic high-altitude nuclear-fueled drone travelling at unbelievable speeds in the upper atmosphere could launch a completely devastating barrage on every potential enemy in the world with almost no lead time whatsoever, and both Russia and the US rushing to nuclearize space, when even at the very height of the Cold War was completely taboo as both sides understood how that made nuclear war a near inevitability as an example of unintended consequence.
And we see in history at least a few times where software errors had either side within minutes of ordering a counter-strike except for the human element double checking at least; put all these things together and the message of Fatima is looking more and more like Russia might be the means of chastisement of the West for our perversions, overindulgence of the flesh/senses in every way imaginable, killing billions of our tiny innocent children, honestly making the Holocaust and a quarter of a billions people killed in the Second World War in general look quite small in scale, not to lessen the evils of those events, but just as a keen point of comparison. We may have a mass conversion of the entire planet, but it may be amongst radioactive rubble with a drastically reduced population, down to the same quarter billion that were eaten up in Hitler and Stalin's meat-grinders, I fear.
This would explain Pope Benedict's statement that the renewed Church would be very small, with most of it's actual church buildings and other facilities nonexistent. This makes sense in the aftermath of a war, or even a great natural disaster. The renewed Church would consist of the few survivors, holding Mass in whatever serviceable buildings they could find.

Think of what Our Lady said at Akita: After the rain of fire, most Catholics will not even have access to the Eucharist; all they will have left would be "...The Rosary and the Sign left by My Son." No one really knows what the Sign will be; all we have are guesses. Educated guesses, to be sure, but guesses just the same.

I got the author's book and read it in one sitting, it was totally engrossing. It's written from a capital "C" Catholic perspective, and really helped me see the Cold War through more of a spiritual lens as never before. I really would recommend it to anyone even if they aren't all that interested in JFK assassination conspiracy theories. The author is a Catholic theologian and the book won an award from the Catholic Press Association, just to give an idea of the perspective on which the topic is written from.
Here's also a good video of the author speaking about the book, though the video doesn't do the book absolute justice. Anyway, just a suggestion as I know a lot of folks here are interested in the same thing I seem to be!

I just finished watching the full video; maybe this comes up inthe book (wasn't on the video) but for any of us concerned about JFK'sultimate fate this might be reason for hope. Jackie at this time was still very fervant and had a constant spiritual director. Around spring/early summer of '63 she purportedly threatened JFK with "separation" --full blown physical separation in all its senses,including the very publi one of her no longer living at the Whitehouse--the sympton was his womanizing but according to a fellow-priest of this spiritual directo she was really concerned about JFK"s soul. Anyway despite his schedule they somehow arranged it that JFK did a mini-retret and with God's Grace realized his spiritual void. So he was again going to Confession, praying, faithful Mass attendance etc so we have more than some reasson to hope he is ok. Again thanks for the great link. Oh so glad you liked it Brian. In the book it goes into the large amount of letters that Thomas Merton wrote back and forth (it's amazing how clearly Merton seemed to see thing while still living a cloistered life (is that what it's called for monks?) with JFK's sister-in-law Ethel, and how some of JFK's actions correspond in such a way that it suggests the spiritual direction given to Ethel made it's way to JFK somehow, if not directly than though Bobby likely, or possibly Jackie. So it seemed Our Lord, I think at Our Lady of Fatima's request, was working overtime to set the spiritual message of "Pacem in Terris" on his heart before the encyclical came out. And losing an unborn child to a miscarriage I can personally attest as well can really make you turn your face toward Our Lord out of a very particular sort of grief, so all these things.
I read lots of JFK conspiracy stuff, every word of the anti-conspiracy (and mammoth!) "Reclaiming History: The Assassination Of President John F Kennedy", and I was always on the fence about what the real story was (and now I think even "is", because the consequences are still reverberating loudly) until I read this book, and understanding the spiritual warfare part, the close work of the Vatican really intensifying to a frenzied level after 1960 as a totally confidential go between for JFK and Khrushchev (I've even wondered at times, and I know he is seen as the devil by some because of the changes of Vatican II, but that John XXIII's intervention may have at least forestalled the Third Secret's worst possible future out of the many that could have and still can take place dependent on us).
I am a true believer now after a lifetime of a lot of familiarity but always still thinking it could just be a huge amount of red herrings... but this book on the more material world side includes a lot of information I hadn't seen before, fairly newly emerged in some circumstances, that has me utterly convinced a rogue element of the US Intelligence community had JFK killed, and flirted with the idea of pinning it on the CCCP just as an excuse for a first-strike when the US was still relatively immune to the kind of complete destruction that would come now. The puzzle isn't put together completely, but there are enough pieces in the right spots I believe to see what the picture is.
I could gush on and on... maybe because the writer is a devote Catholic gives me a bit of confirmation biases, but sometimes, y'know, when you are reading something 100% true it really screams out as such? Maybe that's something I just feel sometimes, almost like reading the Bible, but not as intense, but in any case I really couldn't recommend it enough for any Catholic with an interest in the history of the hottest part of the Cold War from a more spiritual interpretation of events.

I have spent my Lent going over a lot of details related to Fatima and have been inpired lately to rededicating myself to Our Lady's requests at Fatima following the example of the young Saint Jacinta. I am not a Trump supporter per se but I do believe that God had something in mind with him becoming president and in that sense I am behind Trump as an instrument of God's Will. This talk of JFK in this thread makes me think that God has an intention and purpose for Trump's presidency as God had for JFK's presidency. I believe God will reveal that more and more as time passes, I think Trump will win the next election as well. I am greatly encouraged by Trump recent embrace of the Fatima statue and rosary, he also acknowledged the centennial anniversary of Fatima in 2017 as well.
I pray you all don't mind me plugging a book I have enjoyed reading recently, I heard about it on Al Kresta's radio show last month and picked up a copy two weeks ago. It is Rethinking Mary by Edward Sri. It is a very easy read, well researched, and quite enlightening with many insights I never connected the dots on. It's definitely one of the better books I have read over the past few years.

With Zapata Oil, the names of the ships used in the Bay of Pigs invasion, and especially the memo from Hoover just one week after the assassination referencing George Bush specifically as being the team-leader of the rogue anti-Castro CIA unit, and just all the multiple connections between Prescott and George H.W. Bush (mostly Skull & Bones/CIA connections, which seem more and more one and the same the more you investigate).
Nixon being the President of Pepsi seems a footnote, but the big jump in sugar prices with the Cuban Revolution was devastating the company's profits. The Bushes, Nixon, all the Watergate "plumbers" like E. Howard Hunt, all the same players from Watergate, and right up until Iran-Contra and CIA cocaine trafficking and the sponsoring of death squads in the 80s in El Salvador and Guatemala, all the same players that surrounded the anti-Castro activities and the JFK assassination, and rather blatant cover-up of the Warren Commission (Allan Dulles? Really?? The one official who hated Kennedy more than any other, except maybe Curtis LeMay, the prime mover and power behind which witnesses were interviewed and which were not, what lines of questioning to pursue, by the Warren Commission, really, Allan Dulles?? It was like gaslighting of the highest order).
If you haven't come across it Chris, I'd suggest also checking out the Otto Skorzeny papers (the famous SS commando leader that rescued Mussolini, set up the rat-lines to S. America for Nazi war criminals with CIA acquiescence as a quid pro quo for getting the entire Gehlen organization of spies in the CCCP and von Braun's team of leading ballistic missile scientists on the planet), which seems to me like the smoking gun of the Kennedy assassination. The Bush family is up to their necks in all of this. When Kennedy gave his last famous speech at the UN calling for the beginning of the total disarmament of the world, both nuclear and conventional forces, save for a standing UN peace-keeping force, he signed his own death warrant. No way would all those generals and arm manufacturers stand for anyone pushing for their own elimination forever. No way.
Just for a second, suspend all disbelief, and just consider that there was a coup d'etat in 1963 of the intelligence agencies of the US, and every president since has been an intelligence/military-industrial complex asset, on either side, Democrats and Republicans included. I don't like Trump, I dislike him on a personal level, as well as his policies... but I absolutely can't deny that he is the first president since Kennedy that isn't compliant to the US intelligence agencies, and is actively being opposed by his intelligence agencies.
Even whether Trump is a Russian asset or not is wholly irrelevant to this one aspect of his presidency, that he is acting independently of the intelligence agencies, which did not expect him at all to win the presidency, and Trump I believe is, other than Kennedy, one of the first presidents not to be deeply enmeshed in Freemasonry as well. A lot of Truman's actions, the last president to really overreach as far as Executive Privilege before Trump, when seen through the prism of Truman being a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Freemason, become a lot clearer when seen this way, and how Truman's decisions fit into a much bigger global, trans-national picture.

This may seem very far-fetched, but imagine even if there were a president not an asset of one of the many intelligence agencies (not just the CIA, but the NSA, every intelligence agency of every branch of the military, etc.), on the day after the inauguration, the brand-spanking new POTUS is given a very special intelligence briefing, where he/she is shown incredible footage of the Kennedy assassination from the POV of the shooter(s). And then the representative of said intelligence agencies says, "Well, this is what we did, this is what we are still capable of, and don't think your family or friends will be spared if you don't do as we say." Even the bravest among us could probably see how when faced with a choice as stark as this, even if my example if very over-the-top and fantastical, even if the threat is more veiled but still conveying the same message less-dramatically, could we say that we wouldn't feel tempted to go along to get along (and save our own heads' from being blown in half, and the safety of our spouses or children or friends)?
As much as I see worrisome authoritarian tendencies with Trump, especially his attacks on a free-press, what if the press on *all sides* is a mere arm of a propaganda campaign decades old tricking Americans into thinking they still live in a functioning democracy? What if MSNBC and Fox are two-side of the same coin in the documented strategy of heightening political tensions as shown in the Gladio doctrine and documentation (and even implementation such as the Bologna train station bombing back in the 70s) in Italy and Turkey especially, again, set up by the CIA, creating political tension, manipulating the electorate so there is as close to a 50/50 split in public opinion between Democrats and Republicans, all carefully manipulated to such a state that the whole thing is a farce of political theatre. Barry Goldwater was another, though I didn't like his politics, that seemed to be not in thrall to the intelligence agencies, and look at the trouncing he took.
Just considering such things, as wildly sensationalist as they might be, sure makes me see the Trump presidency in a different light. With all the right-wing (and, really, fascist at heart, just like with Prescott, and even his father, George H.W.'s grandfather, a notorious white-supremacist and almost paleo-Nazi) coups the CIA sponsored, rightly or wrongly, routinely around the world, it's almost naive to think that it could not happen in the US itself... and maybe it even did happen. Curiouser and curiouser, as Alice would say, the further you go down the rabbit-hole, finding more and more connections between the most likely conspirators, and how it all fits into a much wider picture, especially in the light of the messages of Fatima and Akita (and Kibeho, too), and the encyclical "Pacem et Terris", reading that encyclical for the first time ever just a while ago made me wonder why I hadn't read it years ago!
I'll stop ranting now, haha, but, yes, I totally agree Chris that the Bush family, especially George H.W., were up to their necks in the assassination of JFK, if not *the* CIA head of the entire apparatus. And I didn't start with that premise and then went hunting for it, it just became more and more apparent based solely on snippets of evidence.

And I think, too, that Kennedy absolutely had to be eliminated for the revival of the Roman Empire (and, really, under the principles of the French Revolution i.e. principles of Freemasonry) under the auspices of the EU, which may not be an inherently evil organization even, but seems by far the most likely instrument/vehicle the Antichrist will use to gain power, and ultimately rule the entire world from the 3rd Temple in Jerusalem after the destruction of Babylon. JFK's true conversion and his subsequent and quite public plans in following the guidance of Pacem et Terris made him a pebble in the shoe who would have set back the "secret enemy"'s plans, not irrevocably, but for a very long time. That's why Kennedy's murder seems still so contemporaneous to me.

I live in Dallas, and I've fired high powered rifles many times. I don't even know how many times I've been through Dealy Plaza. It's a simple route to get from the west side of downtown to interstate 35, so it was a pretty common path for me when I was doing research at the library downtown.
Nobody would have been able to miss a gunshot from the grassy knoll. Depending on where you're standing, it's no more than 20 yards to where JFK was from the grassy knoll, and there are spots where it's only 30 feet or so. There is absolutely no way that a high powered rifle - or even an average pistol - would have gone unseen or unheard by most of the people in the area. The muzzle flash would be very visible, and the noise would be extremely obvious.
And whenever someone comes to town, they always want to go to Dealy Plaza. Every person I've taken down there has said the same thing, "I can't believe it's so small." Even people who were dyed-in-the-wool conspiracy believers - even they came away saying that it would be impossible to miss a shot from there.

I have read and seen pictures and reports of water drainage and sewer entrance caps that were very quickly redone and covered up after this fiasco. also there is evidence of there being a mark where the driver was to stop, and did, hence the real cause for changing the zabruder file. there was a sewer drain which provided a shot to the car but at a specific spot. there was an engineer from general electric that did a report on the angle of the bullet's path and hence through the president's brain that proved an upward flight. he was immediately shunned and the report hidden.iI you do a good search you can find it, he was a reputable man with a very scientific background.
there are two remaining films which show people running to the knoll and many who reported seeing, meeting a policeman there. He was probably a shooter.
hence a reason for the path to be revealed in the brain. A reason for Kennedy's brain to be missing.. which it is!!!!!1
