The Oblates of St. Joseph on Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi

As long time readers of this blog will know, both myself and English author Stephen Walford have repeatedly encountered a very vocal opposition to our respective works on eschatology, which directly stems from the followers of Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi (see here). In the aftermath of Fr. Iannuzzi's attempt to take legal action against me in April 2017, I decided to investigate him in greater detail, and over the course of the past year, I have turned up some rather unsettling findings. Fr. Iannuzzi had originally threatened to take legal action against me for publishing a letter from the Archbishop of Trani on my blog which confirmed that he had breached the moratorium which was placed on the writings of Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta (see the posts on this subject here and here).

Although he was at one time associated with the Oblates of St. Joseph (OSJ), I have recently discovered that Fr. Iannuzzi has been operating outside of his religious community for a number of years without the permission of his superiors, and has refused to give a report of his activities for an extensive period of time. I had recently asked Professor Robert Fastiggi to attempt to contact the major superior of the OSJ, Fr. Michele Piscopo. Although we have yet to hear from Fr. Piscopo himself, the general secretary of the OSJ gave the following response concerning Fr. Iannuzzi's standing within his own religious order:

Egregio Signore, pace e bene.

Distinti saluti, p. Giocondo A. Bronzini, segretario generale OSJ.

Dear Sir, peace and goodness.

Fr Joseph Iannuzzi has asked many times for exclaustration, moving from one diocese (or religious community) to another, making it practically impossible to control his conduct. For his part, for years he has not given the Superiors report of his activities. He is currently outside the community without permission.

Yours sincerely,

p. Giocondo A. Bronzini, OSJ general secretary.

So even before his departure from the OSJ without the permission of his religious superiors, Fr. Iannuzzi had repeatedly sought exclaustration in order to flit between dioceses or religious communities, so that he could diffuse his own unique brand of Catholic eschatology as widely as possible. This was facilitated by organising and participating in Marian conferences that were largely unregulated by the local dioceses, and simultaneously driven by an unhealthy undercurrent of spurious private revelations. The iterant nature of his ministry, which he ensured was largely unregulated by his religious community for several years before his departure, meant that his conduct was practically impossible to control by his religious superiors or the local ordinaries of the dioceses in which he was operating.

Fr. Iannuzzi has a number of books on Catholic eschatology which are published by St. Andrew’s Productions in the diocese of Pittsburgh, which do not bear the imprimi potest of his religious superior or carry the imprimatur or nihil obstat of the competent ecclesiastical authority. This is obviously because of the heretical nature of the eschatological views he espouses throughout his works, which are centred around his interpretation of the theme of “living in the Divine Will”, as contained in the writings of Luisa Piccarreta. Iannuzzi uses the concept of “living in the Divine Will” to explain how evil will completely cease to exist on earth during his millenarian vision of the Millennium of Revelation 20. Iannuzzi exploits this concept in order to negate the biggest shortcoming of his expectation of such an extreme utopian society, which is completely opposed to the permanent reality of human freewill. The Church clearly teaches that evil will continue to exist on earth as long as humankind has free choice and the capacity to make their own decisions. As the conciliar document Gaudiem et spes states:

Sacred Scripture teaches the human family what the experience of the ages confirms: that while human progress is a great advantage to man, it brings with it a strong temptation. For when the order of values is jumbled and bad is mixed with the good, individuals and groups pay heed solely to their own interests, and not to those of others. Thus it happens that the world ceases to be a place of true brotherhood. In our own day, the magnified power of humanity threatens to destroy the race itself.

For a monumental struggle against the powers of darkness pervades the whole history of man. The battle was joined from the very origins of the world and will continue until the last day, as the Lord has attested. Caught in this conflict, man is obliged to wrestle constantly if he is to cling to what is good, nor can he achieve his own integrity without great efforts and the help of God's grace.

That is why Christ's Church, trusting in the design of the Creator, acknowledges that human progress can serve man's true happiness, yet she cannot help echoing the Apostle's warning: "Be not conformed to this world" (Rom. 12:2). Here by the world is meant that spirit of vanity and malice which transforms into an instrument of sin those human energies intended for the service of God and man.

(Gaudium et spes 37).

The concept of a future earthly millennial kingdom of the resurrected saints has been widely proliferated in American society and beyond within some circles of Catholicism and Fr. Iannuzzi’s academic credentials have elevated him to the leadership role in this nascent millenarian cult, which has been loosely termed as the "Divine Will Movement". This attempt to equate the period of peace promised by Our Lady of Fatima with an entire epoch of earthly material bliss after an invisible "middle coming" of Christ to reign in the Eucharist, is directly modelled on the eschatology of Joachim de Fiore, which was vehemently opposed by St. Thomas Aquinas (see Summa Theologica I-II, Q. cvi, a. 4) and was condemned by the Church in the Middle Ages.

Fr. Iannuzzi threatened to litigate me in April last year for exposing the fact that he had breached a moratorium on the writings of Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta. This threat of legal action came almost immediately after I had published a letter from Archbishop Pichierri confirming his breach of this moratorium on my blog. Fr. Iannuzzi uses Piccarreta’s writings in order to support his own Joachite/millenarian views on the interpretation of Rev 20.

After receiving this threat of legal action, I decided to be very careful, and conducted a considerable amount of research on Fr. Iannuzzi before publishing any other details on his rather troubling ministry. During the course of this research, I have discovered that Fr. Iannuzzi has a number of private business interests, including one in Jacksonville Florida operating under the name “Missionaries of the Holy Trinity”. The listings for this site found elsewhere on the internet cites Fr. Iannuzzi as the business owner, and it is clear that this is a civilly organised operation, in no way affiliated with the local diocese. He conducts this business operation from a property he has apparently privately owned in Jacksonville for a number of years. The content of the books he has published are heretical in nature, and as such, do not bear the imprimi potest of his religious superior in the Oblates of St. Joseph.

The influence of these books in North America has been vast, reaching perhaps hundreds of thousands through his various disciples who have a notable presence on Catholic social media. As such, Fr. Iannuzzi can rightly be labelled as the de facto leader of the largest millenarian cult currently operating with impunity in the modern Catholic Church.

Fr. Iannuzzi also owns a separate property at the compound of the Companions of Christ the Lamb in Paradise, Michigan, from where he conducts a separate business interest called “The Association of Priests, Inc”. If you click through the various annual reports of this organisation, you can see that Fr. Iannuzzi had originally used the same lawyer during the formation period of this business operation who he used to threaten both myself and Archbishop Pichierri - one Eric L. Hearn (see here). This particular legal document dates way back to June 2001.

I contacted Bishop Doerfler of the diocese of Marquette about Fr. Iannuzzi's activities at the compound of the the Companions of Christ the Lamb, and he responded that he had no knowledge that Fr. Iannuzzi was the owner of a property there, or that he was conducting a private business operation from it. Bishop Doerfler confirmed that Fr. Iannuzzi had served in Marquette diocese for a short while between 2005-2006, but that was the extent of his knowledge about his ministry there. So why exactly does Fr. Iannuzzi still own a property in Marquette diocese if it has no knowledge of his activities there? And why is this private business organisation called "Association of Priest, Inc" organised at this address?

As you can see from the annual reports linked to above, this business was previously located in Jacksonville, FL. Whilst the "Association of Priests, Inc" was in operation in Florida, it bought and sold a number of properties. The “Association of Priests, Inc” otherwise known as the “Association of Priests Corporation”, also lists Fr. Iannuzzi as its owner/operator. The Association of Priests, Inc was registered as a tax-exempt charitable organisation by the IRS (see here). Bizarrely, the following official LINCC site lists the Association of Priests Inc as a Protestant organisation headed by Fr. Iannuzzi, and stipulates that it was generating a yearly revenue of over $100,000 (see here). For example the tax form found here shows that Fr. Iannuzzi's Association of Priests, Inc pulled in net assets of $140,766 in 2002. In 2003 it was $123,337 (here). In 2004 $101,763 (here). He then started reporting losses in 2005 with net assets dropping to $34,121 (here), around the same time he shifted to Marquette diocese.

The following site here shows that the Association of Priests Inc was given a grant of $10,000 sometime around the year 2015 by the Vanguard Charitable Endowment Program, which may be indicative that it receives such a grant on a yearly basis. This other website here shows that it was given two separate grants of $12,000 and $10,000 in 2016. I have asked Bishop Doerfler to investigate this matter further, since his diocese is not benefiting in any way from these charitable grants.

The fact that Iannuzzi is conducting such a destructive priestly ministry without the permission or regulation of any ecclesiastical authorities is an enormous concern. Especially when this ministry is pulling in revenue from a variety of sources, including online donations, attending seminars and book and DVD sales. This revenue appears to enable Fr. Iannuzzi to travel all over the world in order to promote his millenarian eschatology to thousands of unsuspecting Catholics who are unfamiliar with the actual teachings of the Church on this matter. He does so at various Marian conferences or talkshops in religious communities, and frequently travels with Vassula Ryden in order to support her ministry, despite the fact that the CDF issued a notification against her in 1995 for espousing millenarianism (see here and here).

The disturbing nature of Fr. Iannuzzi’s renegade priestly ministry, combined with the sheer fanaticism of his followers presents a very grave concern. This situation has gone on for way too long, and now needs to face proper public scrutiny. Why has this priest been allowed to act with impunity for so long without being condemned by the relevant Church authorities? The fact that he has created such a cult following for himself is deeply troubling, and the sooner the various heresies he espouses are finally addressed by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith the better.

Emmett, I don't know what's going on with Fr Iannuzzi but there does seem cause for concern. But if he's leaving his order of St Joseph, that doesn't necessarily mean he's not a priest in good standing. Priests can leave a religious order and become diocesan. My only point is that the headline of your post may not be accurate. I'm not a follower of the Luisa group. And I find their teachings strange, so I agree with you on that.

Emmett O'Regan said...

I will amend the title of this post if I am incorrect, Sr. Lorraine. It just seems to me if he has been absent from the OSJ without permission for a number of years, and he requires a letter of recommendation from his religious superior each year to confirm his good standing, then it is quite likely that he has not received this letter in the past few years. Fr. Piscopo or someone else in the OSJ would be able to confirm this.

Honestly, I think I'd send all this to the Papal Nuncio. Maybe both in Ireland and the U.S., given that you're there and he's here.

Fr. Ianuzzi, in terms of his millenarian ideas, has grossly misunderstood the purpose of a temporal peace before the eschaton.

It is not intended to serve as an end in itself - as if we could hope to find perfect happiness other than in the Beatific Vision - but rather it is a means to the real end: the Second Pentecost, the preaching of the gospel to the ends of the earth.

For instance, St. Robert Bellarmine (1542 – 1621) tells us in chapter 6 of his De Laicis:

"...In like manner the Romans sought empire not for the sake of God, but through a desire for worldly glory. Yet God gave them supreme rule...that through the union of all the nations under one government the way might be prepared for the preaching of the Gospel, as St. Leo says in his first sermon for the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul..."

Note what St. Bellarmime and Pope St. Leo (whom he references) say: the union of all nations under a single government, in peace, is not an end in itself but rather the means through which "the way might be prepared for the preaching of the Gospel". If it was a necessary precondition prior to the first Pentecost, as St. Bellarmine opines, we should expect something similar for the second - and I think the process of globalization and supranational organisms like the EU are tending in that direction, even if ostensibly for "worldly glory".

I've long contended that the magisterial texts which proclaim the need for supranational governance are not mere empty platitudes: the Magisterium is conveying a literal truth but it isn't millenialist in nature.

For a description of this from an orthodox, traditional Catholic standpoint please see this article by Pater Edmund Waldstein, O.Cist. over at the Josias:

World Government is Required by Natural Law

"...In Laudato Si’ ¶175, Pope Francis cites Pope Benedict’s argument that the global challenges facing the contemporary world require ‘true world political authority.’ Certain soi-disant conservatives have again objected to this teaching. But, as Pope Francis himself points out, it is ‘in continuity with the social teaching of the Church.’

It was this Virgilian ideal of empire that was taken up and Christianized in the ideal of the Holy Roman Empire— an ideal given masterful theoretical exposition in Dante’s De Monarchia. And it was to the ideal of the Holy Roman Empire that Catholic Social Teaching has consistently appealed.

Pope Francis is thus quite right to appeal to the continuity of Catholic Social Teaching on this point..."

Azadi said...

Here is how Pope Leo the Great (400 – 461) explained this in relation to the first Pentecost, in his Sermon 82:

"...He by lowering His Nature to the uttermost has raised our nature to the highest. But that the result of this unspeakable Grace might be spread abroad throughout the world, God's Providence made ready the Roman empire, whose growth has reached such limits that the whole multitude of nations are brought into close connection. For the Divinely-planned work particularly required that many kingdoms should be leagued together under one empire, so that the preaching of the world might quickly reach to all people, when they were held beneath the rule of one state..."

I often wonder why people fail to notice the seemingly bizarre prominence of supranational government or "world political authority" as a major theme running through modern Catholic Social Teaching and its relevance to the signs of the time.

Cardinal Turkson expressly linked it to the idea of a New Pentecost in his 2011 Vatican note, see:

"...In a world on its way to rapid globalization, orientation towards a world Authority becomes the only horizon compatible with the new realities of our time and the needs of humankind. However, it should not be forgotten that this development, given wounded human nature, will not come about without anguish and suffering.

The spirit of Babel is the antithesis of the Spirit of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-12), of God’s design for the whole of humanity: that is, unity in truth. Only a spirit of concord that rises above divisions and conflicts will allow humanity to be authentically one family and to conceive of a new world with the creation of a world public Authority at the service of the common good..."

Folks who think earthly peace is the end goal have got it turned upside down: its actually the vehicle for mass evangelization, as in the apostolic days of the Roman Empire.

I had never looked at the whole "one world government" movement in this way before. Looked at from the purely secular viewpoint, a world with one government would seem to be a world without hope; if you have despots and tyrants in positions of power, you have nowhere to go to get away from them. At the same time, however, looked at from this new point of view, a world with one government becomes a world filled with hope, not the hope of a better earthly life, but the hope of salvation.
One world government is coming. Like any institution purely man-made, it will have its evils. But as a man-made institution PERMITTED by God, it will bring many people to salvation who might have been otherwise lost. If it facilitates the Second Pentecost, then perhaps it will be worth it after all.
It is certainly food for thought.

I think it's God's Will that all men recognize every other man as their brother. I believe that God permits national boundaries because it is not natural for fallen men to get along without division. Heaven is not an ethnic country. I refer to the section on the universality of the Church:

Azadi said...

I think that's a very good and comprehensive overview.

Indeed, global governance viewed from a purely secular perspective can be a disquieting prospect, but so was the Roman Empire for the early Christians. But yet, without the roads and peaceful intercourse among diverse peoples provided by the Empire, the first Pentecost would not have led to the flowering of great conversions to the faith that ultimately resulted in Christianity being declared the state religion of the Empire.

God used an empire originally created for worldly glory, for the highest purpose of all - salvation. As the third century Church Father Origen (died 254) explained:

"...For righteousness has arisen in His days, and there is abundance of peace, which took its commencement at His birth, God preparing the nations for His teaching, that they might be under one prince, the king of the Romans, and that it might not, owing to the want of union among the nations, caused by the existence of many kingdoms, be more difficult for the apostles of Jesus to accomplish the task enjoined upon them by their Master, when He said, "Go and teach all nations." Moreover it is certain that Jesus was born in the reign of Augustus, who, so to speak, fused together into one monarchy the many populations of the earth. Now the existence of many kingdoms would have been a hindrance to the spread of the doctrine of Jesus throughout the entire world; not only for the reasons mentioned, but also on account of the necessity of men everywhere engaging in war, and fighting on behalf of their native country, which was the case before the times of Augustus, and in periods still more remote,...How, then, was it possible for the Gospel doctrine of peace, which does not permit men to take vengeance even upon enemies, to prevail throughout the world, unless at the advent of Jesus a milder spirit had been everywhere introduced into the conduct of things?..."

Canary Islands La Palma volcano hit by 70 earthquakes sparking emergency response

Another wave of geological concerns. A few months ago some mild concerns were voiced by the USGS about some increased activity in the Yellowstone caldera. Two days ago, geologists voiced similar concerns about increased activity in a second supervolcano near Japan. Not ten minutes ago I read about a 7-point earthquake in south central Mexico, and now another earthquake swarm in the Canaries, of primary concern.
While all this geologic activity does not mean any kind of eruption anywhere is imminent (geologists are saying that it will probably be a long time before the situation in the supervolcanoes becomes anything to worry about), and there are many things that still have to happen before we have to be really concerned about the mega-tsunami, I still have to wonder if these clusters of activity in disparate places aren't meant to be warnings to those of us with eyes to see.

At least as far as this last post is concerned, Chris, it's a conspiracy theory with no substance behind it. It has been disproven by engineers numerous times. The incredible heat from the burning jet fuel simply melted the main supports. I don't buy that any vaults were emptied beforehand, either. Besides, one of those planes was headed directly for the White House; no one could have known beforehand of the heroic sacrifice the passengers would make. And I seriously doubt anyone in the government, no matter how corrupt, would have been behind an attack that would have endangered their own lives.
Immediately after the 9/11 attacks, the nation was united as it hadn't been in many years. A week later, the Communist infiltrators in the country started disseminating these stories as a way to disrupt the burgeoning unity and patriotism. They succeeded.
It's just politics as usual.

I will admit it's possible they knew the attack was coming and did nothing to stop it. After all, that's how Pearl Harbor happened. And I can admit that it's possible the UN was behind it; America is the one nation that, so far at least, has stood firmly in the way of the whole One World movement. And knowing the inimical types that are in politics these days... There are things that I can admit about this theory are very well in the realm of possibility. But our own nation actually planning it? That I'll never buy. The worst I can accuse them of is sitting on their hands and letting it happen. (Clinton calling off an attack on Al-Qaida at the very last moment, two years before 9/11, comes to mind...)

Thank you for returning the discussion to the topic at hand.
That being said, truth in the documents that Emmet and Stephen have shared and cited on Fr. Iannuzzi, demonstrate evidence that supports the very valid reasons for which they are seeking specific answers. Once they have attained actual, factual material they feel duty bound to share as opposed to keeping the material private. In the end, we all benefit from this exercise in Truth seeking; for their sense of duty, we all should be grateful.
The most glaring issue with Fr. Iannuzzi is his lack of obedience. Obedience. Erudite as he is, he must remain obedient. The simple fact that he neglects to submit to the authority of his order, of the Archdiocese of Trani, the Diocese of Marquette, et al, is a HUGE red flag.
Thank you, Emmet, for staying the course in your pursuit of the Truth, and for sharing with us the fruits of your pursuit. God bless all here,

Over the long President’s Day weekend, the current president complained about the previous one. “Never gotten over the fact that Obama was able to send $1.7 Billion Dollars in CASH to Iran and nobody in Congress, the FBI or Justice called for an investigation!” Donald Trump tweeted.

Wrong, said the Obama White House. That was always Iran’s money. As the Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler tweeted at Trump in response: “Has no one who works for Trump ever explained it was a legal settlement of money the Unites States owed Iran from before the 1979 revolution?”

Kessler is one of the top correspondents in Washington, earning respect on both sides of the aisle. He was Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s favorite reporter. He’s covered foreign policy, nuclear-related issues, and has been running the Post’s Fact-Checker blog for several years where he’s shown he’s not afraid to correct his own mistakes when he’s wrong. And he’s wrong here.

Prior to the 1979 Islamic revolution, the government of Iran, then under Shah Mohamed Reza Pahlavi, had put $400 million for military equipment into the Pentagon’s Foreign Military Sales (FMS) account. In 1981, the clerical regime filed a claim at The Hague to have that money returned. The Obama administration contended that the $1.7 billion represented the $400 million plus $1.3 billion in interest. The White House boasted that it had negotiated the sum down from $6 or $7 billion thereby winning the U.S. taxpayer a sweet deal.

The Obama White House omitted several key facts.

Chris, have you ever thought that the political purpose of conspiracy theories is to scare you into supporting politics that you would normally not support if you were calmer and not afraid? Like, let's say that there is a total scoundrel running for office--and the sole reason you support him is because the media reports bad things about him. You don't know whether those bad things are real but conspiracy theories have convinced you that every political position promoted by mainstream is a lie by lying "satanic illuminists"--so the guy must be good simply because he doesn't look like part of the conspiracy. If you didn't have a conspiratorial mindset, you would not support the scoundrel because you can see clearly what sort of a man he is. But because you are so terrified, what a less scared person might judge as evil you judge as acceptable.

Religious conspiracy theories work the same way.

Posting this here about anon's comment above found on another article:

Joseph Iannuzzi left the Oblates of St. Joseph years ago. In 2002 he was seeking incardination w Marquette Diocese in Michigan. He was officially under Fr. Jack Fabian founder of CCL Companions of Christ the Lamb. He was attempting to establish "Missionaries of the Holy Trinity". which point soon after, God revealed to me this priest's sneaky and less than honest means of dealing. I was his most fervent supporter, defender and dear friend for years even before he was a priest.
He was a brother of the OSJ. I would never have believed his deceptive ways had I not been a victim of his several times over the years. While he helped me on several occasions, it was w a price and I believe an ulterior motive that I didn't perceive at the time. God put reputable priests and religious in my path to reveal to me the back stories of this priest'S shrewd dealings, so as to help me heal from the devastation of my entanglement with this priest and his devotees. I believe he slandered MY GOOD NAME AND REPUTATION since I was persona non grata to his minions when they didn't even know me but we relocated at his request to help him w his ministry. All I ever did was try to love, help and support this priest by helping him w his ministry. Does he even HAVE A SUPERIOR? I don't mind reading about conspiracy-type conjecture online, but feel obligated to respond when something really crosses the line.

David Bogg get tragically lost people close to him by gun violence. He must be in almost unimaginable emotion suffering and distress tight now.

Please show some empathy here. If you disagree with his decision to channel some of that grief and suffering into a cause that he honestly believes, rightly or wrongly, will stop more mass shootings, so be it, there is nothing wrong with disagreement.

But to peddle completely unsubstantiated fairy tales that he isn't a real person that went to that school and lost loved ones, that he is some sort of "crisis actor" (in the parlance of the folks who believe in these theories), that's just beyond the pale, and to pile onto this kids' s pain st a time like this by denying his suffering is unacceptable... pleased think of the real-world consequences to him personally: mentally, emotionally, and especially spiritually, and how real damage is done to him each time someone denies his very existence of who he is.

He does not need this, just like some of the parents of those poor, almost babies still, little children slaughtered like lambs at Sandy Hook. Our online behavior has very real-life consequences for them... we should be praying for them increasingly, not perpetuate the assault to their lives any further.

In the Wake of Massive, Illegal, Censorship, the Parkland School Shooting Narrative is Still Falling Apart

Because the “cleansing” of standard alternative sources of information such as Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and other “public” domain common carriers of information, it is immediately obvious the command to cleanse came from the same sources. An investigation into who or what group of people are responsible for putting out the word to take down specific types of references to the Florida shooting, would undoubtably lead to people in political and government services positions – providing evidence of State sponsored censorship in violation of the United States Constitution, the highest law of America.

Okay, enough with the conspiracy theories. There are sixty-one posts here, and more than half of them are from the same person, citing one after another. I really didn't want to put this note up here, because every time someone asks this guy to tone it down, he comes back with even more "evidence." Maybe it's true, maybe it's not, but it's gotten to the point that it's shut down all discussion here, and this one person has monopolized the comments. I say again, enough already.

Emmett, while looking online for a Catholic library of "public domain" works I frequently read at, I found a beautiful prayer called "The Clock of the Passion," attributed to Servant of God Luisa Piccaretta; according to the post, several divine promises are associated with this prayer. Given the current situation with Fr. Iannuzzi's violation of the moratorium on publishing anything about her, is it licit yet to make use of this prayer? Has it been approved yet?

It can be found here if you want to look further into it:

It's an SSPX site that has a lot of Catholic classics available, mostly as audiobooks, but also some e-books.

Does anyone have a hypothetical timeline as to when the great sight of the cross is in the heavens will be seen by all? Will it come before the chastisement or after? I’ve given up in trying to get my family to reform. My father is a very proud old man and has a lady friend in his life and as far as I know they have never fornicated. He is intimate with her, sending and recieving texts late at night. Me and my mother are just silent about this, and we’ve reached the point where they don’t even hide it and pretend anymore. They meet in the house as though they are best friends and it disgusts me, though I still love my father. I still want our family to make it to heaven. Can anyone pray that this woman just leaves and never comes back? I still think that the only reason I am living in a third world hell is because she’s in his life and he doesn’t want to move to any other country, even if me and my mother are miserable, have no friends, have no social support and depend on him for everything. I am disabled and there is nothing I can do.

Nothing short of being awakened by the sign of the cross and realising hell is real will bring about a general moral reform. I despise how morally permissive paganism is. It’s just a bunch of rituals, superstitions and mysticism.

JMC said...

Unfortunately, as I understand it, there is much still to happen before that sign of the cross in the sky. There is the chastisement, then the Second Pentecost, then the descent back into sin before the rise of the Antichrist. Keep praying, Thomas. Human speech renders it as "all you can do," with an implication that it's a last resort, when it should be the first, which I know it has been for you. Keep it up. It's the persistent prayer which will eventually be answered, and that answer may come in a way you don't expect. That woman may not leave him, but it may be that they never progress to physical intimacy; it may be on his deathbed that he repents, and you may not even be aware of it. Christ told us to be persistent in prayer. You can be sure all of us here will be praying with you.
God bless.

Unmasking the Falsehoods of John Emmett O’Regan

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Divine Will and Oblates,
For some time now, a certain individual named John Emmett O’Regan has been makingfalse assertions that have not received any endorsement or support from the Bishop or Diocese inwhich he resides, and that have been dismissed from a Religious Superior. John who is 41 years old, lives in Belfast Ireland and, for reasons unknown, prefers not tobe addressed by the Christian name of John, but by the name of Emmett. His blog, whichnurtures a penchant for extravagant apocalyptic teachings, posts falsehoods on Churchauthorities and of spreading heterodox opinions that have resulted in ecclesial letters fromrepresentatives of the Catholic Church. Consider that Bishop of the Diocese of Belfast in which Emmett resides and the SuperiorGeneral of Roman Curia, have issued the letters that respectively reveal: a) Emmett’s “views”,“opinions”, “blog” and “publications” have no “endorsement, support or approbation” from hisDiocese; b) the assertions on his blog have absolutely no credibility. The fact that the Diocese inwhich Emmett resides questions if Emmett O’Regan is an assumed name, a pseudonym or a penname reveals the level of secrecy under which he operates.

Anonymous said...

(cont.) Emmett published a work in Belfast, which is within the Diocese of Down and Connor, whereas the Bishop affirmed that Emmett’s publications” are bereft of any “endorsement, support or approbation.” In other words, Emmett has chosen to bypass the Catholic Code ofCanon Law that requires that published works be submitted to the scrutiny of the propercompetent authorities before their publication to ensure they contain nothing contrary to Catholicfaith and morals. As to why Emmett has refused to do this, consider that several Catholictheologians have reviewed Emmett’s printed apocalyptic publications and opinions and havefound them to be inconsistent with the Church’s authentic Magisterium.Furthermore, the falsehoods Emmett posts on his blog – which he constantly modifiesand changes – have been reviewed by a priest conversant in canon law who has affirmed thatsuch falsehoods are in violation of the Catholic Church’s Code of Canon Law 220 and 1390, §2.Noteworthy are those against Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi who is in good standing in the CatholicChurch. Fr. Joseph is a Doctor of Sacred Theology and has written numerous works thatunderscore the assent of the intellect and will to the official teachings of the Roman Pontiff andto the Bishops, and to the Magisterium of the Church. He has also been nominated theologicalperitus, he assists Bishops in the theological review of spiritual and dogmatic literature, and histheological publications received in writing the accolades of the Catholic Church’s hierarchy.Having said this, consider now the nature of Emmett’s falsehoods: 1) Falsehood: On his blog dated Feb. 11, 2018 Emmett falsely asserts: “The Oblates of St.Joseph Confirm that Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi is not a Priest in Good Standing.” He asserts that thisinformation comes from Fr. Bronzini whom Emmett claims is the present OSJ Secretary Generaland the second in charge of the OSJ Congregation. He further asserts that Fr. Bronzini stated thatFr. Joseph has been “operating outside of his religious community for a number of years withoutthe permission of his superiors, and has refused to give a report of his activities for an extensiveperiod of time.” Emmett also falsely asserts that Fr. Joseph’s ministry and theologicalpublications constitute a transgression of poverty and enjoy no support. Falsehood unmasked: In February 2018 Fr. Bronzini heard of Emmett’s false assertions, and he informed the OSJ Roman Curia of their false nature. This prompted the following officialecclesiastical letter from the number one of the OSJ Congregation, thereby unmasking thefalsehood of Emmett’s assertions. Consider that this ecclesiastical letter in response to Emmett’sfalse accusation comes only 17 days after Emmett’s false blog posting.

Anonymous said...

(cont.)To Emmett’s discredit Fr. Bronzini is not the Secretary General of the OSJ nor is he thesecond in command, as Emmett falsely asserts. Indeed, on the blog there is found only Emmett’styped words and the name of Fr. Bronzini that Emmett puts forth – there is no document, nodated letter, no signature and no seal from Fr. Bronzini or from the OSJ Curia. And, let ussuppose, even if a false assertion were ever uttered that called into question Fr. Joseph’s goodstanding within his community, the above letter from the number one OSJ Superior General flatout contradicts it, as it does Emmett’s baseless assertion that Father is somehow transgressing thepoverty of his community. There is the saying in Latin, Caveat Lector (“Let the Reader Beware”of false blogs).Furthermore, on account of Emmett’s relentless emails to Fr. Joseph’s superiors and toseveral Bishops, sent in an attempt to denounce him, many were left with the impression thatEmmett, whom Fr. Joseph has neither met nor spoken to, nurtures an unhealthy obsession withhim and his theological works. This obsession was further manifest in the increasinglybelligerent tone and convoluted syntax of his scrawls that went unheeded. After nearly a year ofpestering various prelates, the Superior General of the OSJ Congregation intervened with theabove letter of Feb. 28, 2018 dispelling Emmett’s falsehoods.2) Falsehood: Emmett falsely asserts that all of Fr. Joseph’s theological works have noecclesiastical approbation. Falsehood unmasked: To Emmett’s discredit Fr. Joseph’s Doctoral Dissertation bears twoofficial ecclesiastical seals of approval by the Gregorian Pontifical University and accolades ofmany Bishops; he has written numerous works, several of which bear the preface andendorsement of Catholic Bishops, the Imprimi Potest of the OSJ Superior General, etc. It is perhaps fortuitous that in falsely attacking Fr. Joseph’s approved works, it becameexposed that Emmett’s works have no ecclesiastical approval. I here recall the above letter ofNovember 22, 2017 from the Diocese in which Emmett resides that states, “Neither Emmett northe views or opinions expressed by him in his blog or in his many publications are in receipt ofany endorsement, support or approbation from the Diocese.” 3) Falsehood: Emmett promotes himself as a “theologian” and has written several Catholic Bishopsclaiming this title, despite the fact that records indicate that John Emmett O’Regan has neveracquired the title of theologian. Falsehood unmasked: To date, documents obtained reveal that Emmett has never attended aCatholic University nor studied theology at one; rather they indicate that he obtained a bachelorof arts from a secular institute only. It is customary that for a Catholic to be accorded the titletheologian and/or to teach theology as an ordinary professor at a Catholic University one must

Anonymous said...

(cont.)have obtained a Doctorate in Sacred Theology (STD); though less accredited than an STD, atheologian is also one who has obtained a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL), whereby onemay teach theology at a Catholic University as an extraordinary professor. Emmett has neitherobtained a Doctorate nor a Licentiate in Sacred Theology, nor has he obtained any theologicaldegree from any Catholic University whatsoever. Put simply, he is not permitted by the CatholicChurch to teach theology in a Catholic University. It is little wonder that his words, blog andpublications enjoy no “endorsement, support or approbation.” It is a curious thing that Emmettshould choose to falsely attack someone like Fr. Joseph who has obtained the Licentiate andDoctorate in Sacred Theology (respectively summa cum laude and magnum cum laude from thePontifical University of Rome) that he has failed to obtain. Also interesting that Emmett solicits monies from readers on the internet at a gofundmeaccount which has put in his pocket him nearly $2,000.00 (1,381 Pounds). Perplexing is the facthe claims to be soliciting monies because, as he himself states, he has defended Pope Francisand, as a result, gone broke and none of his books sell anymore; thus he is soliciting monies withthe hope that he will eventually be accepted into a theology program. This is odd, especiallysince it is customary that for one to be admitted to a theology program at a Catholic Universityone must be recommended by an ecclesiastical authority, which Emmett does not enjoy. And yet, there is no founded hope or guarantee that he will ever be admitted. One wonders how it is possible for a Christian in good conscience to contribute to a causethat enjoys no ecclesiastical support, disregards the aforesaid canon laws and publicizes falseassertions against a priest in good standing. Does not our Blessed Mother in numerous Church-approved apparitions entreat all Christians to pray for all Priests, rather than set out to calumniatethem?4) Falsehood: Emmett makes the assertion that Fr. Joseph violated a moratorium on LuisaPiccarreta’s writings by publishing his Doctoral Dissertation, which so happens to enjoy theofficial approved of the Pontifical University of Rome with high honors. Falsehood unmasked: Had Emmett done his research, he would have readily discovered thatbefore embarking upon the highly accredited Doctoral, Fr. Joseph requested and obtained inwriting an official document from the Archdiocese of Italy entrusted with Luisa’s cause explicitlyendorsing his doctoral studies on the writings of Luisa at the Pontifical University of Rome (seefootnote 1). Further indicating the falsehood of Emmett’s assertion is that nowhere does heprovide any documentation about any moratorium. Rather, Emmett himself invokes the wordmoratorium without documentation or any ecclesial support. Truth be told, the Archbishop of Trani G.B. Pichierri and Fr. Joseph’s Religious Superiorshave publicly dismissed Emmett’s false assertions with official ecclesial letters on Fr. Joseph’sbehalf. On January 29, 2002 the Archbishop of Trani issued to Fr. Joseph a formal letter formally6
granting him permission to commence his doctoral studies on the writings of the Servant of GodLuisa Piccarreta at the Gregorian Pontifical University.1 And on November 22, 2012 Fr. Joseph’sDoctoral Dissertation was unanimously approved magnum cum laude by the GregorianPontifical University of Rome, bearing the seals of approbation for publication.2 Also, the sameArchbishop of Italy wrote two letters in defense of Fr. Joseph from false assertions dated respectively June 15, 2005 and May 2, 2017.

In the light of the preceding documents, one may conclude that the official letters fromvarious ecclesiastical authorities affirm that Emmett’s “views, opinions, blog and publications”have no “endorsement, support or approbation,” and the assertions on his blog against Fr. Josephare without credibility. One theologian, humored by said assertions related that by Emmett’s own admission hehas reached the point of desperation; on account of his plummeting books sales over which he1 On Jan. 29, 2002 the Archdiocese of Trani issued the following written and signed letter to the PontificalUniversity on behalf of Fr. Iannuzzi: “In response to your request for a letter for the moderator of your doctoralthesis... I can assure you that there are no objections for the scientific research on the writings… of the Servant ofGod Luisa Piccarreta” (“In risposta alla tua richiesta di una lettera per il moderatore della tua tesi di dottorato…posso assicurarti che non vi sono obiezioni per l approfondimento scientifico degli scritti... della Serva di Dio‟Luisa Piccarreta”). 2 On November 22, 2012 Fr. Iannuzzi publically presented before the theological faculty and student body of thePontifical University the Doctoral Dissertation entitled, “The Operations of the Divine and Human Will in theWritings of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta – An Inquiry into the Early Ecumenical Councils, and intoPatristic, Scholastic and Contemporary Theology”. The dissertation was approved with high honours by saiduniversity which is authorized by the Holy See. After the November 22, 2012 successful public presentation of his Doctoral Dissertation on the writings ofthe Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, on December 12, 2012 the Pontifical University of Rome authorized Fr.Iannuzzi to publish said doctoral dissertation affirming, “Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi… you shall be called ‘Doctor inSpirituality’ after you have published your dissertation, consigned the requested copies to the Secretary’s AcademicOffice and obtained approbation from the Censors” (“P. Joseph Iannuzzi… sarà dichiarato “Dottore in Spiritualità”dopo che avrà pubblicato la sua dissertazione, ne avrà consegnato le copie richieste in Segreteria Accademica eavrà ottenuto l approvazione dei Censori” ‟ ). In the official signed and sealed document of January 11, 2013, saidCensors granted “approbation magnum cum laude” to Fr. Iannuzzi’s Doctoral Dissertation on Luisa’s writings andauthorize its “publication”. In 2013 the Doctoral Dissertation, with the authorization of the Pontifical University, was published anddistributed to Vatican Congregations for the Doctrine of Faith and for the Causes of Saints, and to the 494 USACatholic Bishops. Also 40 copies of extracts of this thesis were sent to the various Pontifical Universities and to theArchdiocese of Trani. From June 2013 – July 2013, more than 45 Bishops express in writing their esteem for Fr.Iannuzzi s doctoral dissertation. ‟

(cont.)publicly laments, it appears he has sought to calumniate a theologian in good standing in anattempt to garner support, though such efforts had failed. Whatever Emmett’s motives may be,one sobering truth emerges: Fr. Joseph is in good standing despite Emmett’s false assertions, whereas Emmett’s views, opinions, blog and publications are not in receipt of any endorsement, support or approbation. The lay faithful who have known John Emmett O’Regan and have shared theirimpression of him, acknowledge that he has openly written and spoken against to the Catholicwritings of the Church-approved Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, several of which bear theMagisterial Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat, and of another mystic whose writings bear theMagisterium’s Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat. They contend that Emmett’s baseless assertionsagainst Fr. Joseph are borne from his displeasure over Fr. Joseph’s having successfullydemonstrated before the faculty of theology in Rome and before bishops their orthodoxy thatbear the Church’s official seals of approbation. Happily, God’s providence has fortuitously permitted Emmett’s false assertions to yieldofficial ecclesiastical letters of approbation and good standing on his behalf of the scholarshipand person of Fr. Joseph that has now been made known to the public.Everything for the greater good in the Divine Will. Peace.

Thanks for this. Where is the letter of support from his superior in the OSJ though? Unless you can point me to an official letter, I will remain highly sceptical of this claim. The best he could offer there was that he found out my first name is John. That is technically correct, but I have always been called by Emmett, and on my birth certificate my name only appears as Emmett O'Regan. It should have been John Emmett on my birth certificate, but I only found out in 2007 that it just listed Emmett, so I had to amend this for my passport. Big deal. I've always been called Emmett, and don't answer to John. At least I have a bishop, unlike Fr. Iannuzzi, who remains in hiding. All of the above is just bluster to distract from the facts I have presented.

And it's oddly up to date, isn't it? Well then, in the spirit of goodwill - Hello author of this work! My name is Mark. Do you know John Corapi?

Im glad i came across Emmetts web content.. it balances out all the negativity against the pope.
Wow there is a lot of pope bashing going on..... But I can understand...

Especially the divorced and remarried receiving communion.

If its ok in certain conditions,,,, to receive,,,,,
then my question is about those who died being in that state and couldnt receive....
was it a sin back then if they received communion if they personally felt they didnt sin in adultery in that their conscious didnt bother them and they felt Gods presence.??"

"What you hold bound shall be held bound." This applies not only to the confessional, but also to changing rules. A good example was when they changed the rules on Friday abstinence years ago. One week, it was a sin to eat meat on Friday for everybody. A week later, it was okay if you were under the age of 12. A 10-year-old who ate meat the previous week, knowing it was Friday, committed a sin. A week later, that a 12-year-old who ate meat on Friday did not sin.
As for the conscience...that's a sticky question. Conscience is not the be-all and end-all. There is still such a thing as objective sin. The conscience, unfortunately, can be swayed by feelings and emotions. Your emotions may be telling you that, in your case, a particular action is not a sin, but that doesn't change the fact that it is indeed a sin. That's like certain priests tell people that, if they feel deep in their "conscience" that contraception is okay, then it's okay. That's poor advice, because, no matter what your conscience tells you, artificial contraception is ALWAYS a sin. Depending too much on conscience is what leads to relativism.

Okay, which "little black box" are you referring to? If you're referring to the TV, it has both an "off" switch and a plug. Those of us who are truly concerned about it turned it off and pulled the plug long ago.

Mark W,
Please, share any further details you are able to discern from that Word doc.

I referred to the TV and the fact that a large majority of homes, households, apartments etc do not use those switches and plugs hence the perfect way to direct " truth " about information.

I notice the pride people come to work with being able to repeat what was shown on the news last night or 60 minutes of liberal puke.

Most have not ascended to your level of understanding as yet.

On-Air Discussion: The Vatican Deception

The Conspiracy Show with Richard Syrett Airing on Coast to Coast Radio Network March 17 at 10:00 pm PST (1:00 am EST)

Paul Stark traveled with Father Gruner and interviewed him, along with other workers at The Fatima Center. He spent several years researching, writing and producing this documentary that details the persecution of Father Gruner and the concerted effort from powerful Vatican officials to bury, distort or ignore the most important and miraculous message from Heaven and the only hope we have for peace. As the film shows, time is running out. The chastisements Our Lady warned us about as the result of disobeying Her requests are unfolding now. The consecration must be done without delay! “The Vatican Deception” may help to wake the world to the truth that has been so brutally suppressed, the truth that Father Gruner worked to make known up until the moment of his death, despite being defamed and attacked, both verbally and physically. Please, tune in to this important broadcast. Tell your family and friends about it. The truth is our only hope, and the Message of Fatima is the truth!
