Our Lady of Akita, the Sign of Jonah, and the Coronavirus Pestilence

Patrick Archbold has made an interesting observation about the timing of the Coronavirus outbreak in relation to a recent private revelation issued by Sr. Agnes Sasagawa on 6th October, 2019 (the vigil of the Feast of the Holy Rosary):

Some food for thought, folks.
In 1973, Sr. Agnes Sasagawa of Akita Japan received a dire warning of a coming chastisement. She warned of Cardinals opposing Cardinals, bishops against bishops. You know the one.
What you might not know is that after decades of silence, in October of last year she reportedly received a message from her angel which was simply, “Cover in ashes and please pray the Penitential Rosary every day." This is a fairly clear allusion to the 40 day warning of Jonah to Ninevah to repent or be destroyed.
Scientists estimate that the Wuhan virus first emerged in November of 2019, or around 40 days later.
"Earlier reports from Chinese health authorities and the World Health Organization had said the first patient had onset of symptoms on 8 December 2019—and those reports simply said “most” cases had links to the seafood market, which was closed on 1 January. Lucey says if the new data are accurate, the first human infections must have occurred in November 2019"
40 days. And December 8th and January 1st.
Impossible to say anything definitive but from Fatima to Akita to now. We can't say we weren't warned. Like I said, food for thought.
(See Patrick's post at the Creative Minority Report blog here).

James Delinis was the first to notice the connection between Sr. Agnes' recent private revelation and the message of the Prophet Jonah to ancient Nineveh at his blog Camp of the Saints (see here). As regular readers of this blog will know, I have previously connected the interpretation of the "sign of Jonah" with the interpretation of the Third Secret of Fatima. The hand of the angel with the flaming sword being stayed by the rays of light issuing from the hands of the Blessed Virgin (which is lifted from the imagery of the Miraculous Medal), represents the very real threat of a chastisement being stayed. Just as the original "sign of Jonah" was connected with a 40 day countdown and the occurrence of the Bur Sagale eclipse during the ministry of the Prophet Jonah, the centenary of Fatima was marked by a 40 day countdown from the Great American Solar Eclipse of 2017. During this time, not only was the world brought to the brink of nuclear war at the height of the North Korean crisis, but a remarkable series of natural disasters unfolded, including a number of unprecedented hurricanes and earthquakes, followed by an earthquake swarm at La Palma in the Canary Islands, sparking fears of a potential mega-tsunami generated by the lateral collapse of the volcano Cumbre Vieja. A future event which I argue is connected with Sr. Lucia's 1944 Tuy apparition, which she received immediately before committing the contents of the Third Secret of Fatima to writing.

In blog post Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Flood from the Dragon's Mouth, I had noted that the fact that the epicenter of one of the earthquakes that took place during this 40 day period period struck the site of Akita prefecture in Japan was noteworthy, considering its renown as an apparition site.

The below video gives an overview of the apparitions of Our Lady of Akita, which were approved by Bishop Ito (although it must be noted that there is some continuing controversy surrounding this issue).

Given the fact that the appearance of Coronavirus took place roughly 40 days after Sr. Agnes issued her latest private revelation in October 2019 (after decades of silence) gives us serious pause for thought. Especially since this private revelation is also so closely linked with the "sign of Jonah" - which originally involved not just a solar eclipse, but also a series of pestilences and a period of social unrest, before the Ninevites were eventually brought to repentance by adorning sackcloth and ashes. (See my previous blog post The Sign of Jonah and the Binding of Satan) The world has now been suddenly brought to the greatest point of crisis seen since the Second World War, in the very year which I highlighted as being of considerable importance in my book Unveiling the Apocalypse: The Final Passover of the Church (published in 2016). In Sr. Agnes' recent private revelation, the call to repentance by adorning sackcloth and ashes has become more clear than ever, and the world cannot go on ignoring the numerous signs that have been given by God of the chastisement that awaits if we continue to turn our backs on Him.

This is neither here nor there as far as the timing regarding Sr. Agnes' latest public communication in October except she may have some how known through supernatural means that this new novel coronavirus may have already been spreading back then already but without public awareness.

This is also mostly anecdotal, so take it for what it is, but a friend of mine who also has an autoimmune disease (rheumatoid arthritis, his sister and mum both have MS). He reminded me of all the mysterious cases of pulmonary fibrosis (an illness dubbed EVALI) that were being reported all over the US in late September/early October time frame. Looking at these cases the link between e-cigarette use and this mystery serious lung ailment that killed quite a few people is very sketchy, but it was the best causal link doctors could find.

He himself got very sick with what was assumed to be the flu in November, as did I, though blood culture after blood culture came back negative for any known bacterial or viral infection, my red blood cell count was all over the map during November and December, with a persistent fever and fatigue (my white blood cell count was normal, but I take a very strong immuno-suppressant inhaled corticosteroid so that wasn't a surprise). My sister who has no other health conditions in November also disappeared one night, not coming home from school. Her boyfriend, next door neighbour, and I were very worried, out searching between the school she teaches at and her home for her vehicle, etc., but she was in the hospital. She went from feel find to a serious case of pneumonia out of nowhere, the doctors again couldn't culture anything, and chalked it up to a bad flu bug.

Then with my friend's sister who has a compromised immune system because of drugs she takes for MS, she ended up in the hospital at the end of November with an infection that ended up destroying fully 2/3s of her lung capacity permanently. Through CAT scans the doctors could see lung tissue being destroyed and turned to scar tissue at an alarming rate but were all left scratching their heads at what could be causing it, and as in my case culture after culture came back blank, she was given big doses of two drugs Interferon and AZT which finally halted the infection, but the damage left is life changing for her.

Again, all anecdotal evidence, but I'm wondering if this coronavirus may have been spreading for a while now in North America maybe before anywhere else, but with cases being wrongly categorized as influenza, EVALI, and lung infections of an undetermined source? This may be a good thing if true, that perhaps a less virulent strain has already granted a level of herd immunity in North America? Probably just wishful thinking, but that alleged e-cigarette related lung ailment that was widely reported on in September and October just seemed to disappear off the news, and then less than two months later the first big reported outbreak in the PRC, where the increased population density makes a contagious viral infection all but guaranteed to explode in a big way.

Again, this doesn't take away from what Emmett has written at all, the warning to Sr. Agnes could even be seen as more timely than ever if in October the virus was already spreading in a big way. This isn't meant to spread conspiracy theories, but my friend's points were hard to dismiss out of hand.

p.s. Bridget, I'm still watching over and again the video link you posted. Maybe it's the peaceful demeanor of the presenters, the calming music or just the overall incredibly hope-filled message, but it sure is soothing to needless anxieties to watch... thank you again!

Emmett, do you think the 1st Mass reading from February 5, 2020 could have any present-day significance? That day is mostly remembered for the SOTU address and Rep. Pelosi ripping up her speech notes, but it was also around the time that the world started paying more serious attention to the novel coronavirus once the news wasn't obsessed with the impeachment stuff.

I know the reading doesn't mention King David covering himself in ashes or wearing sackcloth, but he was known earlier to cover himself in ashes in atonement even though this last book of Samuel doesn't mention it specifically in regards to the plague that God had allowed in Israel, so though not scriptural the situation of the plague in Israel came up in my mind when reading what you shared about what Sr. Agnes said, though maybe I'm reaching much too far.

Jason R. said...

Sorry to all about the spam, I should have organized myself a lot better, thoughts especially. If not interested I hope you can disregard this without any negative feelings, I apologize in advance if posting so much at once does so, that isn't my intent.

After reading 2 Samuel 24 from that date when the US media (the epidemic in China was already quite big news in Canada, and judging by the British press and FRANCE 24 which I was following, too) finally wasn't in a near-frenzy of reporting on the impeachment, both left and right-wing media were getting the best ratings on that I'd guess as to motivation, so when most Americans from that date on were hearing of the out-break in China for the very time, so not an insignificant point as far as America is concerned at least.

But that all is besides what reading that chapter in full it jumped out a bit at me that the US military has around 1.3 fighting personnel in their armed forces, and the numbers for Israel and Judah in the military census King David undertook as a violation of trusting in providence and Yahweh instead of strength-of-arms, and while not saying that particular situation is applicable at all with the States, but the numbers for Israel and Judah total 1.3 million men capable of fighting with a sword. Probably nothing but a coincidence, but that and reading the rest of the Mass reading from that day focusing heavily on atonement, it really has strong parallels to America being at a crossroads of which way to go morally not unlike the much more connected way that Emmett has exactly shown to the parallels to ancient Nineveh and the Sign of Jonah.

The rest of the readings from that day, the Psalm is about atonement but incredible mercy, where God is willing to work great miracles for people if they only say sorry, it reminded me of St. JPII's writings on the Divine Mercy and the associated great Jubilee year. This line stuck out to me: "That is why each of your faithful ones prays to you in time of distress. Even if great floods overflow, they will never reach your faithful." This really eased my anxiety and helped me get my focus back on prayer and conversion rather than fear over things completely out of my control i.e. the current pandemic.

And the Gospel reading was on how Jesus was rejected as a Prophet in his own home town of Nazareth because he was only a mere man, all the townsfolk had known Him and His parents His entire life, there was no faith among them. Jesus was surprised (again kind of emphasizing His human side): And Jesus said to them, 'A prophet is despised only in his own country, among his own relations and in his own house'...and he could work no miracle there, except that he cured a few sick people by laying his hands on them. He was amazed at their lack of faith."

We know Jesus can work any miracle anytime and anywhere He wanted, the entire universe is God's to change whenever He wants, so it seems a lesson on people having faith being almost a precondition to a miracle taking place, the more people of faith in God maybe the bigger the miracle, not as a bounds on His infinite power but people needing to take a step toward God before He takes a million steps toward us because of the great gift of free will. Which says to me personally that fear and anxiety only will distract people from prayer when pray and a thoughtfully lived life taking others feelings and beliefs into consideration as much as we can in our fallen state is a better frame of mind than filled with fears in a growing pandemic with no clear end in sight. This is when we need God the most, and those rock-bottom moments can end in wonderful turning points I think just because of this, coming to our Father like little children who rely solely on their parents for their care.

Id agree Jason. I think the media is more out of control in it, than the virus itself. Its the spread rate. I think thats the hype. In terms of the virus deaths its more the elderly. I know the cure to it but no one would ever buy me. It takes some strict discipline and involves how to fully open phase II detoxification pathways. It involves chicken, salad, fruits, veggies, some bulger grass in the chicken salad, vitamins, Raw onions for sulfation and thinning mucus, and plenty of water daily...all that alone for at least two months. 7 days on 3 days off with taking saunas as well (all over ebay and cheap too). Its the cure to any flu with of course medical treatment for those who need it....It supplements any cure including cancer. I remember the first time I tried this detox method out I was tired and broke out in rashes for over a week.

But yes its just like the message said from your perspective...if men dont repent the three days of darkness wont even occur at all. All in all eat your fruits, veggies, and plain chicken...And your grandchildren will look back and see this whole thing as a health fad.

Anonymous said...

Okay so I wouldnt say cure all, but in terms of the common cold or flu, it would help.

Anonymous said...

But yes, for monarchy and these other prophecies to prosper even at all, the conovirus will not stand even close to the definition of a global pandemic.

The worlds main pandemic will be cleaning up after the three days of darkness. Jason...you'll be on the cleanup crew there.

Jason, I feel the same way! The host and hostess of the video both have such a calming demeanor. :)

Mark W, you’ve mentioned a couple times now your concern with the timing of the latest Akita message. I agree it’s an eerie time, BUT is the “witching hour” supported by official Church doctrine...or is it just well known legend?

Mark W said...

Hey Bridget,

It's definitely not Church doctrine. If I'm not mistaken (and I easily could be on this), the first written record of the idea was in Hamlet. "The witching time of night," I think. It likely goes back further than that, but that's the earliest I recall seeing it.

But to be honest, Bridget, this also goes along with some of my own personal experiences that have happened at that particular hour. Hence, the whole idea of an angel coming at or around 3am gives me pause. And it's an angel, not Mary or Christ himself ("And no wonder: for Satan himself transformeth himself into an angel of light." DRB: 1 Cor 11:14).

And I've always been a bit thrown by the idea that the rosary and the "sign left by my Son" would be the only things left to comfort people. Why not the Eucharist? Why is there never any mention of the Eucharist in these comments. But now I think we see why, or perhaps just a glimpse as to why. My own diocese suspended Mass for the remainder of the month, and likely longer. I am now bereft of the Eucharist myself. So I have only the rosary and the Cross to contemplate.

And I do think that a hefty dose of skepticism is warranted where the Church has not spoken on the private revelation - Garabandal, Medjugorje, and this latest message from Akita included. Otherwise, you end up with something like the motheofgod forum, where everything is accepted at face value.

The other side of that coin is the Gospel reading from November 15th of last year. November 15th was 40 days after the latest message from Akita. Luke 17:26-37 -

"And as it came to pass in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat and drink, they married wives, and were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark: and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it came to pass, in the days of Lot: they did eat and drink, they bought and sold, they planted and built. And in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed. In that hour, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and he that shall be in the field, in like manner, let him not return back. Remember Lot's wife. Whosoever shall seek to save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose it, shall preserve it. I say to you: in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together: the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left: two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. They answering, say to him: Where, Lord? Who said to them: Wheresoever the body shall be, thither will the eagles also be gathered together."

The simple fact is that I don't know what to make of the latest message from Akita. The skepticism still holds for now.

It means Akitas messages are meant for the future. The arms will be high, and the light, while present will be low. But do not be troubled, for you are weary. To the North, south, east and west, you will find survivors outside your desolation.

Hey Mark W,

The Sign left from my Son is the Eucharist!

Take a look at this Pastoral Letter of Bishop John Shojiro Ito April 22, 1984:
APRIL, 1984 -- Most. Rev. John Shojiro Ito, Bishop of Niigata, Japan, after years of extensive investigation, declares the events of Akita, Japan to be of supernatural origin, and authorizes throughout the entire diocese the veneration of the Holy Mother of Akita.

On April 22, 1984, after eight years of investigations, after consultation with the Holy See, the messages of Our Lady of Akita were approved by the Bishop of the diocese. In the Japanese village of Akita, a statue of the Madonna, according to the testimony of more than 500 Christians and non-Christians, including the Buddhist mayor of the town, has shed blood, sweat and tears. A nun, Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa has received the stigmata and has received messages from Our Lady.

Pastoral Letter of Bishop John Shojiro Ito April 22, 1984

Bishop Ito writes in his pastoral letter:

As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Heavenly Father will inflict a great punishment on all humanity. It will definitely be a punishment greater than the Deluge, such as has never been seen before.

Fire will plunge from the sky and a large part of humanity will perish... The good as well as the bad will perish, sparing neither priests nor the faithful. The survivors will find themselves plunged into such terrible hardships that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the sign left by My Son (Eucharist).

Here is the whole Pastoral Letter from Bishop Ito.

Prophecy of Elizabeth Canori-Mora (18th C.):

"It seemed to me to behold the heavens opening, and St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles, coming down, surrounded with great glory and by a numerous escort of heavenly spirits, singing canticles.

"St. Peter was dressed in his pontifical robes, and held in his hand the pastoral staff, with which he was drawing upon the earth an immense cross; at the same time the angels sang the words of the Psalmist, 'You will constitute them princes over the whole earth.'

"After this the holy Apostle touched with his staff the four extremities of the cross, from which instantly sprung up four beautiful trees loaded with blossoms and fruits.

"These mysterious trees had the form of a cross, and were surrounded by a splendid light.

"Then I comprehended in the depth of my soul that St. Peter had produced these four symbolic trees to the end that they may serve as a place of refuge to the little flocks of the faithful friends of Jesus Christ, and in order to preserve them from the fearful punishment which shall convulse the whole earth.

"All good Christians shall then be protected under these trees, together with all those religious persons who shall have faithfully preserved in their hearts the spirit of their order. . . .

Anonymous said...

"I beheld these good Christians, who had sought a refuge under those mysterious trees, in the form of beautiful lambs confided to the care and vigilance of St. Peter, their good shepherd, testifying to him the most humble and the most respectful obedience.

"As soon as St. Peter, the prince of the Apostles, had gathered the flock of Jesus in a place of safety, he re-ascended into heaven, accompanied by legions of angels.

"Scarcely had they disappeared, when the sky was covered with clouds so dense and dismal that it was impossible to look at them without dismay.

"On a sudden there burst out such a terrible and violent wind, that its noise seemed like the roars of furious lions.

"The sound of the dreadful hurricane was heard over the whole earth.

"Fear and terror struck not only men, but the very beasts.

" . . . Happy will be all true and good Catholics! They shall experience the powerful protection of the holy Apostles, St. Peter and St. Paul, who will watch over them lest they may be injured either in their persons or their property.

"Those evil spirits shall plunder every place where God has been outraged, despised, and blasphemed; the edifices they profaned will be pulled down and destroyed, and nothing but ruins shall remain of them.

"After this frightful punishment I saw the heavens opening, and St. Peter coming down again upon earth; he was vested in his pontifical robes, and surrounded by a great number of angels, who were chanting hymns in his honor, and they proclaimed him as sovereign of the earth.

"I saw also St. Paul descending upon the earth.

"By God's command he traversed the earth, and chained the demons, whom he brought before St. Peter, who commanded them to return into hell, whence they had come.

"Then a great light appeared upon the earth which was the sign of the reconciliation of God with man.

"The angels conducted before the throne of the prince of the Apostles the small flock that had remained faithful to Jesus Christ.

"These good and zealous Christians testified to him the most profound respect, praising God and thanking the Apostles for having delivered them from the common destruction, and for having protected the Church of Jesus Christ by not permitting her to be infected with the false maxims of the world.

"St. Peter then chose the new pope. The Church was again organized; religious orders were reestablished; the private families of ordinary Christians, through their great fervor and zeal for the glory of God, became like the most exemplary religious communities.

"Such is the glorious triumph reserved for the Catholic Church; she shall be praised, honored, and esteemed by all men.

"All men shall become Catholics, and shall acknowledge the Pope as the Vicar of Jesus Christ."

To Mark W. The church has accepted the first seven of the apparitions of Our Lady at Medjugorje to be true and worthy of belief. Akita has also been officially accepted as true. That leaves Garabandal. The church position here is that they are waiting for the promised warning and miracle and the sign to all happen before they will accept it as true.

Well, that's interesting, FlyingNun. Thanks. If I've seen that before, I'd forgotten about it.

I read somewhere, years ago - long before I'd heard of some guy named Emmett O'Regan - that the sign mentioned was the cross. I don't recall where I saw that (honestly, it could have been Mallett or those folks at the motheofgod forum...probably the right time frame).

Thanks again,
Mark

Anthony W,

The catch with Medjugorje is that the Church hasn't accepted the almost 40 years of "apparitions" that have happened since the first seven.

There have been some recent questions about Akita's veracity that do seem somewhat valid. I may be mistaken on this, but I don't think Rome ever said anything about Akita. The only approval was from the local ordinary.

And it would take the warning, miracle and sign, to make me believe in Garabandal. I have some first hand experience with those close to this, as well as a host of logical problems with the sequence of events. There are a lot of things written and said about Garabandal that don't add up.

JMC said...

As to 3 am being the "witching hour," last year I read somewhere that this is because Satan loves to mock God, whose Son died at 3 pm. Some Satanic cults hold their Black Masses at that time, though most prefer to hold them at midnight. It's why there is an Office that was traditionally prayed at 3 a.m. (It was called "Lauds" back when the Liturgy of the Hours also included the office of "Prime," which was said around sunrise.)

While there were rumblings about COVID-19 since last fall, it was pointed out on the latest episode of the Catholic Talk Show that it started really getting out of control here in the States right around the beginning of Lent. Father Rich and the guys gave some really good advice on turning the quarantine and "social distancing" rules to opportunities to truly enter into the penitential aspect of Lent. As for the suspending of Masses...that's happened before, too. St. Charles Borromeo, who was bishop of Milan, did exactly that during a plague outbreak, and for exactly the same reasons.
.
Multiple sources point out that the modern custom of receiving Communion every time you go to Mass is actually of very recent origin. By my own memory, in the 1960s, people very rarely went to Communion; I knew people who only received during Easter, and that only because the precepts of the Church require it under pain of mortal sin. And, of course, one NEVER approached the Communion rail without having been to Confession beforehand. So it's not a big disaster not to be able to receive Communion in places where Mass has been suspended. This is where a spiritual Communion can be made instead. (No, you don't have to be in the state of grace for that. I've heard priests say that such prayers exist precisely for the situation of someone who has committed mortal sin and been unable to get to Confession beforehand.)

I think there has been mixed responses from Rome concerning Akita. There are problems with it, such as the parallels to Neues Europa. We have to be vigilant with such things, given the potential involvement of the diabolical. I tried to find a critical article on Akita which I think was published by OSV, but it seems to have disappeared. Seems strange that they would discontinue an article highlighting the problems, unless they got a lot of flak for its publication.

John R said...

I agree, Emmett.

Fatima and Our Lady of Revelation (nine part series on Sensus Fidelium) is more instructive and consoling.

When the purging of fire happens, there will follow great consolation. That will mark the end of desolation and the full restoration.

JMC,

what would be the result of no Masses , anywhere in the world? More pervasive evil...

Anthony W said...

to Mark W. The church have investigated Medjugorje extensively and have concluded that Our Lady has been appearing at Medjugorje. The fact that they say the first seven apparitions of Our Lady are true is only the first step. Remember the church is often over cautious with any Apparitions. For example with Fatima it took the church thirteen years before they accepted that Fatima was true and then only the first six apparitions.

About Akita it was the Bishop who said the apparitions were true but that is usually the case. It is the Bishop who decides on these matters and sometimes the Vatican will comment officially but sometimes the Vatican will leave it in the hands of the local Bishop. But there are occasions for example with Medjugorje where the Vatican interfered directly and took Medjugorje out of the hands of the local Bishop.

About Garabandal. I don't see any negative things about Garabandal as long as we don't make the mistake of putting our own interpretation on things instead of letting God decide how things play out. Now We are warned that all Prophecy is imperfect because it depends on how people respond to the message.

I have a new candidate for the mark of the beast.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/invisible-ink-could-reveal-whether-kids-have-been-vaccinated/

From Scientific American, no less.

Mark W said...

There's something else I want to mention. I don't want to be alarmist, but it's going to sound...alarmist.

I've been thinking a lot about the COVID-19 outbreak, and some of the things mentioned here. I think we need to look at this more deeply, and in conjunction with that Scientific American post above.

COVID-19 was started in China. Some scientists have said that it's been spliced with DNA from HIV and Ebola (to be fair, some scientists say that it has not). But whether it is/isn't a humanly tailored virus, it did come out of the most atheistic nation on earth.

Trump is being heralded as the "new Cyrus" by some (Jonathan Cahn, for example). Interesting, isn't it, that the new Cyrus was amongst several people that soon after tested positive for COVID-19, yet he himself was uninfected.

I no longer think the disease itself is the main threat. There are several others. I'm seeing people on Twitter (I have to follow the pandemic for work, and Twitter has a lot of info from people on-the-scene), who are eager to deliver their civil liberties over to the government, in the hopes that the government will "do something". Whether this loss of civil liberties is permanent or not, will prove to be an interesting question.

But the biggest threat at the moment is to the various economies around the world. The projections I've seen, especially if you look at a 12-18 month cycle, look particularly bleak. We may be bordering on Greatest Generation territory now. The potential of a Great Depression like economic event is now very real. But the Great Depression isn't even a valid comparison in an era where the government just prints electro-dollars with a few keystrokes. Money is pumped into the economies of the world by computers, not printing presses.

Another very - VERY - weird thing with the economics of this is the current situation with silver and gold. During times of economic recession/depression/uncertainty, gold and silver usually climb in price. Through some central bank trickery, both gold and silver crashed with the stock market. Gold especially should be rocketing up, not down. I'm not certain of this, but I think this may be unprecedented in human economic history.

Unemployment in the US may be 40% by this time next year. I saw one conservative estimate that said 20%. But that's still one in five. I think the worst of the unemployment was like 25% or 27% in 1933.

Then there's that Scientific American article...

Mark W said...

The SA article says that there's now a way to give a vaccination while injecting quantum nano-metals under the skin at the same time. Clearly it's a means of identification; they will know your vaccination record based on the quantum signature, so they have to ID you at least that far.

In a few months - within a year, with a little divine intervention - the world will be clamoring for a vaccination from COVID-19. 2+2= ??

And don't watch the stock market as your main indicator of how bad things are. The modern stock market is a measure of fear or a lack of fear, amongst Wall Street traders. Watch the banks. When you see big banks start asking for bailouts, or outright failing, you'll know we've left the deep end of the pool for the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Stock up on essential things. I saw a guy at a local market wheeling a cart loaded top-to-bottom with Coka Cola just yesterday. I guess everyone has their priorities. But having a few months worth of food on hand would be a good idea. If you take meds regularly, try to keep a 90 day supply on hand.

Pray the Rosary.

Go to Confession.

Hopefully, God willing, this won't be as bad as it could be.

Leaving the possibility of the mark of the beast out of it for the moment, that invisible ink actually sounds like a good idea...unless you're either allergic to dyes (one famous example is Pauley Perette, who ended up hospitalized for such a reaction to a hair dye), or simply have sensitive skin which reacts to any irritant, not necessarily allergens. Redheads in particular have to take this into account, since it's a common problem among that demographic.
.
Back to the "beast" business, I always envisioned the mark as being something along the lines of a tattoo. An invisible one makes more sense, that's for sure.
.
The wrist phone was introduced as early as the late 1990s - early 2000s; I don't think it took off, because you don't hear anything about them anymore. And I don't know about other areas of the country, but I've never seen anyone using those Google glasses. I never saw them featured on any TV shows, either, when I was still watching TV.

Medjugorje was taken over by the vatican because the two bishops of medj. were ignored, disobeying their local authority. and who cares about the 'latest' from there. Tons and tons of inane and idle chitchat from that unapproved place.

Presuming things will get worse and they will, the pope asks that the rosary be prayed today on the Feast day of St. Joseph. My guess is more and more will clamor to fill the churches with long confession lines with the eventuality that things do get worse, the pope will have no choice but to reveal the Third Secret and consecrate Russia with the remaining bishops... stay tuned.

To Anonymous. The Vatican took over Medjugorje because of the strange and disturbing attitude of the current bishop and his predecessor. This is a delicate subject to talk about. Bosnia as people know was part of communist Yugoslavia where the government persecuted and infiltrated into the Catholic church. The behaviour of the current Bishop and his predecessor is frankly very suspicious and odd. Why be so hostile to the apparitions of Our Lady at Medjugorje from the beginning. Anyone who has been to Medjugorje can testify to the spirituality that is there, the huge amount of conversions. Men joining the priesthood and women becoming nuns and the long lines of people waiting to go to confession. These things point to the authenticity of the apparitions. The devil would never do any of these things.

The Devil will easily take 100 loses for 1 win from his perspective.

I have been to Medj twice, it is the biggest pile of horseshit out there. Nothing but a money making con.

You put the blame on the Bishops - which just goes to show the bad fruits of the apparition. As if you, or anyone in the diocese, has more authority than a Bishop. Even if he is completely crazy, Christ demands obedience - if you don't believe me go read the Saints!

Medj is shit!!!

anthony,

it never seems to fail medjugore is brought up no matter the subject matter. It's tiresome.
A 1985 statement made by the bishops' conference of Yugoslavia asserts that there is "no evidence whatsoever of supernatural phenomena at Medjugorje" and that the visions are the "fruit of fabrications, fraud, and disobedience to the Church.."

Now that's pretty cut and dry. No ambiguity unlike the so called apparitions. Two bishops declared this fraud exactly as it stands. Disobedience is not to be tolerated. First fruit of satanic behavior. Give it up!

JMC said...

Even if Medjugorje is definitively denounced, the spirituality of the place and the conversions, etc., connected with it are easy to explain: Anyone who approaches Our Lady in good faith is going to be helped one way or another, regardless of whether the people "running the show" over there are actually running a con or not. Though I have to say that the fact that the shrine at Medjugorje has not been closed, while that at Lourdes *was* closed earlier this week, raises more questions in my own mind, given the attitude of the world toward the Truth.

I'm just thinking. Never before in the history of Christianity has the entirety of the faithful been dispensed with the obligation to attend Mass, with the consequence being that the universal worship of the Creator has now went eerily silent. It makes me think of the silence in heaven at the opening of the seventh seal:

When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake. (Rev 8:1-5)

Mark W said...

St. Peter's dome was struck by lightning when BXVI resigned. So if that has any significance, I wonder what significance the damage to the Mormon temple and the horn being knocked from the (faux-) angel's hand?

Mark W said...

P5borel - Depends on how you count the year/day/hour times in The Apocalypse of St. John. If one day equals one year, you get 14.56 days. But time in the Book of Revelation is a rather flexible - and non-linear - thing.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Yes, as Mark W notes, the apocalyptic literature of the Bible is flexible in the interpretation of time scales, as Tyconius determined in his book of rules. I would imagine half an hour could represent half a year. Either that, or it is symbolic of a relatively short period. Although given the way the scientists and government officials are talking, half a year seems to a realistic figure, if not a hopeful one.

To anonymous. The Vatican took control of Medjugorje because the Bishop was disobedient. Read up on this. Also when the apparitions started in 1981 Bosnia was part of Communist Yugoslavia. The government immediately started to persecute the visionaries but they stood firm. Priests who supported the apparitions were imprisoned but they stood firm as well. But my question is why will you not accept what the church has ruled that the first seven apparitions of Our Lady at Medjugorje have been declared as true and worthy of belief.

There was a report that found the first seven apparitions as supernatural events. Last I checked, the report didn't even say it was the Blessed Virgin Mary, it just said something supernatural happened. That could be "either" side. But, more importantly, an individual report doesn't make a conclusion. I haven't seen Pope Francis declare any of the apparitions as true and worthy of belief. He allows pilgrimages, but the letter that explained his acceptance of the pilgrimages itself stated that the acceptance was for pastoral reasons, and he hasn't decided anything about the doctrinal issues.

Anonymous said...

Anthony ,

given your emotionalism regarding medj. I seriously doubt the bishop disobeyed the Vatican. I'm not a farmer but I can smell manure a mile away. If true you'd have given proof of this by now. No bishop has yet to come close to endorsing these 'visits or seers'. The priests have ignored their bishops and have disobeyed their lawful superiors , that is already confirmed and documented many times over. The Bishop of Mostar Perić told the Apostolic Visitor to Medjugorje, Polish Archbishop Henryk Hoser, that he believes that the Medj. is “not credible,” the diocese said on July 24, 2018.

“The local bishop... on the basis of numerous investigations, does not consider as credible any ‘apparition,’ any message, any secret,” said the statement. “These non-credible apparitions of the ‘Medjugorje phenomenon’ INCLUDE those in the first seven or ten days of 1981,” added the Mostar-Duvno Diocese.

The pope doesn't wholeheartedly believe, saying Mary is not a postmaster, neither does Bishop Peri, within whose diocese Medjugorje lies. Neither, apparently, does Archbishop Hoser. Fr, Vlasic, the former “spiritual director” was defrocked, then unfrocked, then altogether leaving the priesthood is a sure sign Mary is NOT appearing there. Why would a so called believer in an apparition site leave the church??

She is reported to have said: “Before God all the faiths are identical. God governs them like a king in his kingdom.” All sufferings are equal in hell; and Mirjana quotes the Gospa as telling her that people begin feeling comfortable in hell. As regards the afterlife, those who go to heaven after death “are present with the soul and the body.” When the Madonna is asked about the title, “Mediatrix of all graces,” she replies, “I do not dispose of all graces.”

All faiths are not equal. This is heresy. Suffering is hell are not equal. False teaching. Heresy to say the body is with the soul. Do you agree Mary is NOT the mediatrix of all graces??

Unlike the approved apparitions, the visionaries at Medjugorje have been consistently disobedient to local bishops.
◾December 19, 1981, Vicka in her Notebook writes that their bishop, Pavao Zanic, was “the more guilty party” in conflict with the Franciscans, and the Gospa defended the Franciscans who were disobeying the bishop’s order to share their parish with secular clergy.
◾June 21, 1983, in a letter the visionary Ivan said that the Gospa demanded the Bishop’s “immediate conversion” and that he should stop emphasizing the “negative side”– otherwise she and her Son would punish him.
◾February 3, 1985 the Gospa told three visionaries that Fr. Barbaric, whose removal was requested by the bishop, should stay.

According to the German theologian, Manfred Hauke, the Gospa urged disobedience thirteen times to Bishop Zanic, who had originally been inclined favorably to the apparitions.

Pilgrims to Medjugorje occasionally report signs, such as the appearance of a gold tint on the chains of their rosaries, and the phenomenon of a “dance of the sun,” in which the sun, seen by the naked eye without causing harm, proceeds up and down in a yo-yo manner, emitting various colors. The latter is obviously construed as a reenactment of the famous “miracle of the sun” at Fatima, on October 13, 1917. “Healing” miracles have been reported, but none have been tested by experts and verified.

“Our Lady”?

On June 29, 1981, the Gospa announced that a four-year-old boy would be healed, but this never happened. A sign from heaven predicted by the visionaries for August 17, 1981, never materialized. Ivan, in a signed statement, on May 9, 1982, said that a sign would appear in six months – a “huge shrine in Medjugorje” in memory of the Gospa’s apparitions. But this also never materialized. In 1983 the visionaries said a “visible sign” would be left at Medjugorje in perpetuity. But this has not happened.

Do you believe Mary would say these things??

To Anonymous. The Pope set up a special commission to investigate Medjugorje. The first seven apparitions of Our Lady have been declared true and worthy of belief by the church. This is official. It is not rumour or speculation, the Church has ruled in favour of Medjugorje. Now as a faithful Catholic I accept the church's decision. If the church had of ruled that Medjugorje was a fake then I would accept that. Medjugorje was taken out of the hands of Bishop Peric because he was disobedient to the Pope who told him not to be making any negative public comments about Medjugorje until the Church commission had investigated Medjugorje thoroughly.
What you have to be very careful about is that the Devil has been trying to undermine Medjugorje right from the beginning. So many lies and untruths have been spread about the Apparitions and the visionaries. For some reason people would rather believe any gossip or rumour about Medjugorje. It doesn't occur to them to check the veracity of these things. And because of that they can't see the fruits of the apparitions.

I don't think I'm qualified to give an opinion on Medjugorje. I've read a lot about it, and there is much to doubt, which makes me distance myself from it. There is a lot of people who get spiritual nourishment from it though, and there are plenty of testimonies concerning extraordinary events occurring there. I would only be prepared to give my two cents on it if I took the time to pore over all the relevant facts and documents. My interest lies in those apparitions which are fully approved, and there is little or no room to doubt.

Anthony,

You claim : “The first seven apparitions of Our Lady have been declared true and worthy of belief by the church. This is official.” I doubt it. The church has not actually ruled on Medjgorje.

https://thewandererpress.com/catholic/news/featured-today/pope-francis-on-medjugorje-why-the-visions-have-not-received-church-approval/

"according to Tornielli, the majority of the Commission voted in favor of recognizing the first seven visions, those which took place between June 24 and 30, 1981. But regarding all the other claimed visions, which are described as the “second phase of the apparitions,” there was apparently more mixed voting as regards the spiritual fruits of Medjugorje — depending on whether or not the behavior of the visionaries was taken into account.
The Commission also called for an end to the ban on official diocesan and parish pilgrimages to Medjugorje; and the majority of the Commission “voted in favor of the constitution of ‘an authority dependent on the Holy See’ in Medjugorje as well as the transformation of the parish into a pontifical sanctuary.”
This is said to be a pastoral decision which “would not imply the recognition of the supernatural nature of the apparitions.”
The tone of Tornielli’s account gives the impression that Medjugorje has been approved, but in fact a majority positive vote was given to only seven out of the alleged tens of thousands of visions said to have taken place since 1981. Regarding these visions — the “second phase of the apparitions” — apparently two members of the Commission voted against them being supernatural, and twelve offered no opinion about them, which means they received no votes in favor of them having a supernatural origin.

This doesn’t mean Medjugorje is legit, only that the first 7 are recognized. So are you willing to believe everything for the last 40 years ?? Sounds as if you do Anthony. Would these fall within the first 7 ??: Started june 24 but on June 29, 1981, the Gospa announced that a four-year-old boy would be healed. Didn’t happened.

A Fatal Objection
The biggest problem, though, with the messages emanating from the early visions, is the clear transcript evidence that they were supposed to end on July 3, three days after the vision on Tuesday June 30.
Tornielli’s reporting about the views of the Ruini Commission leaves us with an unsettling anomaly. If the Commission members believe that the Blessed Virgin appeared to the visionaries on the first seven occasions, starting in June 1981, and not afterward, that implies that the visionaries then proceeded immediately, the very next day, to start giving out false reports of more alleged visions. This implies that our Lady appeared to the visionaries in the full knowledge that once she had stopped appearing to them they would fabricate further visions.
This seems to be a fatal objection to the idea that the first visions were supernatural. Given all that, it is difficult to believe that the Blessed Virgin really would have appeared to the visionaries during the first week or so, knowing all that would happen in the following decades.

I asked you if you believe Mary would have said certain things. You avoided addressing that which tells me you believe the whole kit and caboodle which has NOT been ruled upon.

Anonymous said...

When Our Lady first allegedly appeared to the six youths in 1981, she reportedly told them she would only appear three more times. She has since appeared, according to the alleged visionaries, 47,000 more times.
Local religious authorities who have studied the alleged apparitions and their effect on its devotees have uniformly said what Bishop Peric of the Mostar diocese again said recently:
Considering everything that this diocesan chancery has so far researched and studied, including the first seven days of alleged apparitions, we can say: There have been no apparitions of Our Lady of Medjugorje.
Crux reports that Bishop Peric has noted:
the “apparitions” have been studied by several commissions: in 1982-1984 and 1984-1986 at a diocesan level, and in 1987-1990 by the Croatian bishops’ conference. The Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith studied the phenomena from 2010-2014 and again from 2014-2016.
The local and national commissions arrived to the conclusion that there’s nothing supernatural to the apparitions.

Something out of all the comments jumped out at me, the post that referenced the Three Days of Darkness, and as someone forced to isolate because of medical issues, I'll be on the "clean-up crew" so to speak after this plague comes to an end.

It struck me because this summer I bought a large bees-wax candle for my daughter, and if I told her all the Three Days of Darkness stuff she would not believe it, so I merely told her that in times of great trouble and anxiety to light it and being blessed and having pictures of the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts on it, not to be thought of like a magic charm or everything, but that it is special.

Yesterday she msged me a picture of the lit candle, and she wrote her and her fiance prayed three Our Fathers (the only prayer he knows) and it came to them both that they are going to start attending Mass at the church just down the street a couple of blocks from their place once things get back to normal. To me this is nothing short of a tiny miracle as they aren't Mass attendees usually and though she was raised Catholic my daughter hasn't exactly embraced the faith in her adult years.

So both of these things, and with my daughter it isn't a strong link, but could the Three Days of Darkness refer maybe to 3 months, or even 3 years, rather than the more literal interpretation of those prophecies foreseeing them? If you look at the language as being metaphorical, not leaving your house for any reason whatever during the Three Days certainly could be interpreted as a plague occurring outside that brings out the very worst evil in people. Are the Three Days being interpreted as possible 3 months or even 3 years (it is hard to see how the economic fallout from this plague won't cause a new global economic depression along the lines of the 30s if all production grinds to a halt... I've read that unemployment has already jumped by 9% in the US alone... I agree fully with Mark W that the economic fallout from shelter in place orders, not that they aren't desperately needed, is going to cause economic chaos and maybe for many years to come. The world was already absolutely teetering on global recession looking at last quarter GDP numbers i.e. Germany having 0.0% growth and one quarter of negative growth in 2019, too).

Has the Three Days been interpreted before this at all as maybe being more symbolic and metaphorical that we usually think of them as, and represented 3 months or 3 years or 3 decades for that matter?

As for not having access to the Eucharist, in my family as well receiving the sacrament after a full confession on Easter was the norm, but though many of my family went to Mass unfailingly, many also did not receive communion regularly if they thought they might not be in a state of grace but for whatever reason weren't yet ready to go to confession. I've been unable to make it to Mass many times due to illness and getting on the list for communion delivered to shut-ins is nigh impossible with the shortage of volunteers. My priest has assured me that praying the act of spiritual communion, sending my guardian angel to Mass in my stead, as well as watching daily Mass online, Our Lord will not leave me outside the flock or the graces that come with receiving the Eucharist over no fault of my own. I hope that may give some solace to some not used to not attending Mass.

As long as one priest in the world is still saying the Mass I believe we will be OK. In the Soviet Union and later communist Hungary, my dad's family went 9 years without access to any sacraments (though there were priest, who were treated particularly cruelly, in their work camps, they of course weren't allowed to perform any of their priestly duties). I wrote already that my Oma kept a small bible (I still have it now, on my nightstand) in a front pocket of her one piece of clothing, and it could just have been guards sympathetic to religion, but it was never found through countless inspections and roll calls, as if it were invisible to the Soviet and Hungarian soldiers. But the main point is even without access to priests or any of the sacraments, they kept the faith, and if anything, their faith in the Catholic Church bloomed the fullest when they needed it the absolute most.

Bridget, I was too late to get in on these from the beginning, but these videos around the Dowry rededication are *awesome*, they have renewed my relationship with Our Lady big time:

Also, JMC, what you wrote of, I believe it was you, it is like the entire planet is experiencing Lent in a forceful way, the message and timing of those Mass readings is hard for me to discount. Bishop Barron has a couple of comforting videos that reminding me of what you wrote. I found great comfort in them, here are the links to his remarks on YouTube, about self-reflection, deeper study and deeper prayer, taking this break in our daily routines that have been forced on many of us to look inward in a sincere way (he has also started doing Masses online)... I know he isn't my bishop, but Bishop Barron, I just loved his TV series, and his online homilies always lift my spirit up (he is my modern-day Fulton Sheen-like go-to bishop on the topics of the day):

Jason R. said...

Whoops, nevermind about the Three Days of Darkness question (though I still wonder how much might be symbolic in nature and the temporal duration of the event), a whole lot of things that read like a Catholic eschatological shopping list have to occur either prior to or co-occurring with the Three Days (including events the entire world must know of pretty much, like the coming to prominence of the Angelic Shepherd and the Great Monarch both besides all the other signs in nature and society, a disturbing amount that have already come to pass though).

This is way o/t, but according mostly to the most prolific of Catholic seers and mystics on the topic I think, Marie-Julie Jahenny, there will be a series of thus far unprecedented series of world-wide earths of epic scope and intensity a number of times in her prophecies. Here's just one:

“The earth will shake from this place until sunrise, the space of six days. A day of rest and (on) the eighth day, the trembling will begin again. France and England will respond with their cries of despair. The land will shake so hard that the people will be thrown up to 300 steps (pas = paces /steps?). The thunder will sound more brightly than in the months that will lead up to the end of the world, with a strange noise.”

What I'm wondering is if these earthquakes be the ones that shake the Canary Islands to pieces literally, causing the global catastrophe of the mega-tsunami, the great eschatological earthquake of the bible, or are they thought to be distinct (this may be in Emmett's book to look up, but I have my copy lent out to someone right now)? On world-wide devastating earthquakes in prophecy generally, would it be correct in thinking that there are maybe 3 distinct sets of earthquakes, one immediately preceding the Three Days of Darkness, one that triggers the lateral collapse of Cumbre Vieja on La Palma, such a devastating earthquake geo politically and economically as well as it will take the USA and likely all of North America including Canada and Mexico as well out of the picture globally, possibly forever, completely devastates the British Isles, all the Atlantic Coast nations of Europe very hard hit, the Netherlands and large parts of Belgium permanently underwater, NW Africa hit very hard, large parts of South America, and on and on, the earthquake that the planet definitely won't be able to mistake for the immense consequences that it was foretold.

So this "big one" that brings every structure on the planet down and utterly destroys all infrastructure, society collapsing, etc., and I think that's the one that Our Lord spoke of in the New Testament and prophets from the Old Testament as well, but is there also a third global wide devastating earthquake the immediately precedes or coincides with Our Lord's physical Second Coming, or am I wrong on that last one, that the earthquake that triggers Cubre Vieja is one and the same as the one written of coinciding pretty much with Our Lord's return from Heaven. Or is the thinking that there are three distinct set(s) of earthquakes of a global and unprecedentedly severe nature, ones associated with the Three Days of Darkness, the Great Eschatological Earthquake that Emmett I'm convinced has definitively linked to a collapse of Cumbe Vieje and all that would follow from that, and a third global-wide earthquake at Our Lord's return at the defeat of Antichrist?

I'm guessing I'm maybe splitting the earthquake associated with Our Lord's return and the one that sends Cubre Vieje tumbling as the burning mountain thrown into the sea separately as they are one in the same (or maybe even all 3 sets of earthquakes are referring to the same single global earthquake?), I'm admittedly very confused with the earthquakes, any direction I'd appreciate so much, from Emmett or anyone at all that knows these things better than I do.

So as someone who has been reading and re-reading Emmet's book and going through multiple prophetic rabbit trails, the primary problem that keeps emerging to me is interpretive.

Let's take La Salette as an example. Are the secrets meant to be read in a highly analogical manner or they are to be read more strictly? For instance, even Melanie's original secret, approved by the Church, states that her prophecy would be fulfilled in a hundred years. A strict reading of her secret would imply that she and Maximin were both describing the same events. Melanie's "king" will emerge when Maximin's "Protestant nation" is converted, for instance. This would jive well with Emmet's interpretation.

But Maxmin's secret is pointed to the year 2000 and perhaps afterward. Do we just take a broad-brush approach and say, "Generally speaking, Melanie thought there would apocalyptic scenarios in the next hundred years and World War II happened?"

Or do we say, "No, there was no great king and Melanie must have gotten her dates off?" (for example)

Do you think the large numbers of virus cases might be part of this destruction or if we should rather mark them down to conventional factors - size of city, density of population, other cities/countries having comparable problems, etc?

Also worth noting - photos on Twitter today of Russian military vehicles moving around Italy distributing aid. Hard to tell, of course, whether these images are real or fake, but it's certainly true that high-ranking Russian military officials are currently active on Italian soil. Not saying that this is a good or a bad thing - only that it obviously opens up a way for the prophecy of Russian flags flying over Rome and the Vatican to become an actuality.

God bless you all,

John.

The ordinary flu has killed more in the U.S. than from the coronavirus in China, Iran, and Italy combined. The question is why isn't media worried.

This isn't the flu. This is a germ responsible for the common cold. How many annual casualties to we have from the common cold? Comparing it to the flu is apples and oranges.

Hey Emmett - Just thought of this.

If they give general absolution for Easter to...the everybody on earth....does something like that factor into any of the eschatological calculations? I can't think of a moment in history when this has happened. I may have, I'm just not sure.

yes and no, it isn't the flu but similar esp. in symptoms. It's apparently not as dangerous judging by the deaths either. According to the article the media's hype is the difference.

In praying the Rosary the other day, one of the scriptural meditations caught my attention. It's when Our Lord encounters the women as He's carrying the Cross. He says that the days are coming when they will say "Blessed are the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed." Immediately after that, he adds that in that day, they will say the mountains, "Fall on us!" to the hills, "Cover us!" With contraception and abortion rampant, this is certainly a time when they look up to those women who never had children; it makes me wonder if that business about the hills and mountains covering people isn't a reference to the practice of some extreme preppers of building bunkers in the woods, usually in the mountains. Just an odd idea I thought I'd toss out there.

A few thoughts I wanted to share in regards to recent events in my life and the world at large. First of all I was serving Divine Liturgy this morning and my Abbot gave an interesting homily on the times in which we are living. Something about it made me think about a previous conversation we were having last year about the 120 year period. I surmised that the 120 year period would end last year or this year, suffice it to say if there is to be a period of peace after that 120 year people I do believe it may have been ushered in by COVID-19. Consider how at the beginning of 2020 the world came to be in a fever pitch over going to war involving the United States and Iran, perhaps involving Russia in some manner. Fast forward a couple of months and the coronavirus outbreak has I daresay the majority of the world's population focusing on nothing but the virus. While it is an unfortunate situation it could be considered peaceful in some sense.

Also I wanted to relate a few odd occurrences that have happened during this month. First of all a friend of my monastic community was given a diagnosis that they possibly had cancer at the beginning of this month. We had someone at our monastery that was in a near euphoric state rambling about how Garabandal was going to be fulfilled at our monastery and that there was going to be an apparition at the monastery on a specific date. They also said that the aforementioned person with the cancer diagnosis was going to be miraculously healed on the same date. That day came and went with no apparition, no anything, and we were seriously concerned about the mental health of that person. Furthermore the person with the possible cancer diagnosis did in fact receive a stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

Yesterday it was claimed that a Marian apparition occurred on Mount Athos in Greece. There were pictures of a cloud in the shape of a woman in a mantle with light shining through brighter than the sun. Many monks on Mount Athos recently participated in prayer services for the overcoming of the coronavirus. It was not long after the report of the apparition and pictures began proliferating around the internet that it came to be found out that it was all a hoax. In fact later in the day it was determined that one of the monks on Mount Athos had contracted COVID-19.

I do want to encourage caution among all who would like to speculate or even proclaim something about anything related to prophecy or other extraordinary occurrences. Even what I said about what the 120 years meant at the beginning of this post may be completely wrong.

There's something quite creepy going on.

1. A protestant minister has been arrested for holding services last Sunday.

2. The bishop of Pittsburgh has ordered the churches in his diocese locked. He's even forbidden prayer in the parking lots.

3. Virginia is now on lockdown until June.

4. People are giving away their civil liberties at an alarming rate. All seem to expect the government to save them from the virus.

5. We have half a million cases of flu in this country each year, and we've never run out of ventilators before. Now major cities are out. I know COVID is a different ailment, but it still seems rather odd.

6. The Chinese narrative seems to hold enormous sway in the western media. China's disinformation campaign seems to be working perfectly.

7. People in the UK are being asked to inform on their neighbors if they go out too often.

8. Italy is gearing up for riots and street violence, as gangs use the internet to plan attacks on grocery stores.

9. The federal government ordered GM to begin ventilator production. The government controlling the means of production?

And I could go on.

Tytler did the original study of the history of democracies. I read him a bit in college. I do not recommend that you all go out and grab a bunch of his writings and start trying to understand his work. It's hyper-depressing, really (certainly from an American point of view). I think he was right in his analysis, but his is a hard read.

And much of what you see quoted online is an amalgam of what he wrote, and thereby a wee bit off in accuracy. The ideas are his, but the text itself isn't quite right (I don't recall why anymore...been too long). But the ideas are his.

And from my point of view, I think we're deep into Dependence. The economic dependence on governments is a global mess that's been around since 2008 at least. It's not just individual or societal dependence, but economic as well.

I hope this era does indeed bear the escatalogical importance that we think it does. It's the only thing that can give this mess any meaning.

Hey everybody

I’d like to bring Betelgeuse up again for discussion. I still think the unprecedented dimming from Sept 2019 to Mid February has some kind of prophetic significance. Check out this blog that was posted back when everyone as hoping for a supernova.

http://forge-and-anvil.com/2020/01/26/catholic-prophecy-out-of-orions-belt-part-1/

“When I think of how Orion is considered the Shepherd of Heaven by the ancients, and how he is regarded as a type of savior, I cannot help but think of him as a type of Christ figure. And when Orion is regarded in that context, I cannot help but remember what our Lord once miraculously revealed to St Bernard of Clairvaux:

“I had on my shoulder, while I bore my Cross on the Way of Sorrows, a grievous wound, which was more painful than the others, and which is not recorded by men. Honour this wound with thy devotion, and I will grant thee whatsoever thou dost ask through its virtue and merit.”
It’s incredible to realize that in spite of the Crown of Thorns, the scourging, and all of the other horrific tortures, it was the wound on His shoulder that caused Jesus Christ the most pain. But it makes sense, as studies of the Shroud of Turin reveal heavy trauma to Christ’s right shoulder as He carried the cross.”

Also, Padre Pio stated that his shoulder wound was the one that caused him the most pain.

https://aleteia.org/2016/02/26/padre-pio-bernard-of-clairvaux-and-the-shoulder-wound-of-christ/

So, what God maybe warning the world of a painful trial coming up by drawing attention to Orion’s red shoulder???

Announcement – Garabandal Only God Knows Movie Free of Charge To View Online During Holy Week 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about an immense health crisis and will most likely be joined by an economic and social crisis before too long. The suffering endured these days by so many families will also leave scars on a psychological and emotional level: many people are having to face near-death situations entirely alone, others are currently unable to accompany their loved-ones and have not had time to ask for forgiveness or make up for past wrongs. The list of sorrows continues to grow.

In an entirely different way, Garabandal, Only God Knows, is also suffering the consequences of this epidemic. When the coronavirus first reached Europe, the Garabandal movie was playing in theaters in France. It had already premiered in 29 countries and had been seen by almost 300,000 people. More than 10,000 people had already seen it in France alone and many more were expected to fill the theaters during the scheduled screenings in the months of March and April. All of this was canceled when the theaters were forced to close. We also had to postpone the premieres planned for the month of March in Singapore, Switzerland and Australia and during April in the United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, Portugal, and Holland.

This was when we decided that perhaps the moment had arrived to upload Garabandal, Only God Knows to our YouTube channel to be seen free of charge around the world. Currently, however, we are unable to do so, because the distributors in the countries where we still have contracts in place hope to be able to premiere in theaters once the virus has passed.

Even so, we have found a solution that both respects the contracts and at the same time allows us to make the film available free of charge during Holy Week 2020.

We are proud to announce that from April 3-12, 2020; that is, from the Friday before Holy Week through Easter Sunday, Garabandal, Only God Knows will be available for viewing online free of charge both in Spanish and English on the film’s official webpage: https://www.garabandalthemovie.com

It will be available in all countries, except for the following countries, where we hope to premiere in the near future in movie theaters: Canada, Singapore, Holland, Brazil, Italy, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, and Belgium.

Garabandal, Only God Knows came into existence to bear a message of hope to all humanity, a message that in these times is more necessary than ever. Our Lady came to Garabandal to tell us that she loves us and that she is very worried about our salvation. The current circumstances have, in God’s providence, become an invitation to live the most memorable Lent and Holy Week of our lives, and this must lead us to a deep examination of conscience and a profound desire for true conversion. Share this email with your family and friends and help to spread this message of hope and this call to conversion with the whole world.

I'm not date setting or anything like that, but I've read that the Three Days of Darkness will take place on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday (over a Holy Week would seem really apropos, hopefully not this Holy Week, though then again maybe it shouldnt be looked at as something to fear).

If the days are symbolic and the time down rather measured in weeks, months, years, or even some sort of epochs, how would the naming of the specific data come into play, or could the prophecies recapitulate as Bridget wrote?

Here is Bishop Barron's latest video, his talks are giving me a lot of comfort and helping me deal with the extraordinary anxiety of these troubled times in case anyone is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tM3iDohF5o&t=3s

As an aside, I've read above that a ruling on an apparition could be deemed of supernatural nature but could still be the result of demonic activity. From my understanding (that may be wrong) that the supernatural by definition comes from God. Anything else of a non-natural nature would by default be preternatural, that is, due to angelic activity i.e. angels or demons, and this isn't an attack on Garabandal at all, just using as a hypothetical example, but say with the children skipping backwards in a way that ordinary means would make impossible, it could be the result of preternatural activity, not necessarily supernatural even though an incident can't be explained by supernatural means i.e. the direct result of God's will. If I'm in error on this I would for sure welcome correction on this.

I personally am holding back on any strong opinion of the apparitions at Međugorje (though the promotion of "Poem of the Man-God" and other examples that seem like disobedience, contradiction, etc.), but understand how faithful believers are drawn to it (my family is filled with devotees). As far as judging the apparition by its fruits, I think that is something that needs to be considered over a long time scale, maybe longer than any of our life-spans e.g. if the Vatican declared the apparitions a fraud could we be in store for a mini-schism as happened after Bayside but on a much larger scale? That would be something that I think would ultimately show what fruit is borne, would devotees put the authority of the Church before their own personal and very emotional attachment to Međugorje? Or the contrary, if it is declared valid and of supernatural origin would those who have been very skeptical likewise do an about-face in keeping with submission to the Church's teaching authority? I do hope some sort of definitive judgment is made but of course if an apparition has prophetically yielded specific timelines and events judgement may be delayed for up to centuries, so this argument back and forth might be a very long time in resolving to perfect satisfaction.

Anonymous said...

If apparitions give a specific timeline and are authentic, than it seems likely that heaven would not resolve to mitigation but remain with a specific period of time of which marian apparations seem indicative is not the world but the end of in our galaxy.

Anonymous said...

In other words, if apparitions are truly authentic, than the events they fortell would occur. Like the 10 secrets of Medjugorje or the secrets of Fatima, Garabandal, and countless other apparitions. I think they point towards the end of the age when earth according to many prophecies will be transported out of our solar system to more heavenly realms. Its like saying the bibles really not the bible which makes sense in light of aquinas yet not justin martyr whom I believe while not overlooked is not popular in Catholic theology of the middle ages.

Anonymous said...

If you look at the countless evidence after the middle ages, we were more with theology of the summa. It took on a notion that the end of the age is the end of everything in salvation history. Its the end all return of the Lord. Thats why I think the apparitions of La Salette are accurate. You have reference to the weeds burned in fire at the end of the age and then the chronology of Revelation 21:1 into two onward. And then I saw....Something more...not a mix up but an addition to apparitions that truly have already been approved.

Anonymous said...

Then again as you said this argument back and forth might be a very long time in resolving to perfect satisfaction. Could be a hidden error of the antichrist?

Shelley said...

Watched it today on Amazon and thought is was well done. Thanks for the info

JMC said...

I find it interesting that some apparitions involving prophecy include one which comes to pass within a very short time, and others don't. Fatima, for example, included one which came to pass within a year, namely, the end of WWI; the second, which was the beginning of WWII, came to pass within twenty years. And then you have apparitions like Garabandal, where none of the prophecies have yet come true over a century later. Are they false, or are they testing our faith? We have no way to know.
.
Obedience seems to be the key fruit to watch for. When visionaries, in obedience to their priests/bishops/other Church authorities remain silent even though they have a message that God wants spread throughout the world, then that's a solid indication of the genuineness of the vision. Sister Lucia is a prime example. While she never learned to use a computer, neither was she ignorant of what was going on in the Church and in the world. Yet once she was ordered to silence, she remained silent.
.
On the other hand, there are a plethora of alleged apparitions whose visionaries are posting all over the Internet in stated defiance of Church authorities. It's likely they're either fraudulent or preternatural, and not of the heavenly variety.
.
All we can do in the face of all this is exercise prudence and hold fast to the certain knowledge that God's Holy Will shall be done, no matter what mankind does.

SandySinger said...

Hi Bridget! I do! To me it seems that the 3 days of darkness are current foreshadowed in 2 ways, literally by the empty churches of Christendom this Paschal cycle - Holy Thursday through Easter morn - and also under the prophetic principle of "a day for a year." It seems likely that the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary began around the time of the 100 yr anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun (10/2017) and the array of constellations and stars (9/2017) described in Rev. 12. These three years since have been, spiritually, the darkest of and most depraved hours of humanity. So grim that Our Lady sent us a sign when she allowed Notre Dame to be burned on April 15, 2019. We may be nearing the last portion of a 3 and 1/2 year span which will climax next March.

I think the evidence points to a significant Holy Week and Easter Octave. For myself, the Garabandal events are compelling and I considered them genuine because of St Padre Pio's favor and gifts (glove, etc) to the girls. I'm told that Conchita is now in Garabandal, locked down by the spread of Covid-19, but I can't substantiate this. I cannot but dare to hope that we are on the cusp of The Illumination of Conscience/Warning, and that the Covid-19 breakout, opening schism of the Church, and the cold and hot wars among nation's will be cured by the Great Miracle sometime next year. That would set the stage for the coming of the Holy Emperor, the Angelic Pope, and a period of peace.

Have been meaning to run this by Emmett! Hope he sees the post. Blessings of Holy Week to all

SandySinger said...

This past week we saw the rededication of England to Mary, as her dowry, and the beginning of the restoration of England to the Church. All events dovetail into her elegantly planned intervention/intercession.

As far as the literal interpretation of the Three Days of Darkness (if indeed they are real and not symbolic), I so not see the prophecies of saints requiring that event before the time of Angelic Pope and Holy Emperor. It follows after, during the final time of AntiChrist. An easy thought experiment proves this...it mirrors the last plague of Egypt, in which darkness fell and the firstborn were slain except for those faithful who remained inside closed doors with blood on the doorpost. The Israelites departure from Egypt commenced immediately, just as the Christian saints will depart this earth at the Second Coming.

Mark W said...

" I considered them genuine because of St Padre Pio's favor and gifts (glove, etc) to the girls."

Once again, I have to point out that there's no evidence that St. Padre Pio did these things. There is no documentation. Even Conchita says she's lost the letter he supposedly wrote to her. Be careful folks.

SandySinger said...

Emmett, but one example of the abomination of desolation we are living today. Along with a Holy Week of empty altars, no Sacraments, widening awareness of schism, abortion and a new worldwide pestilence.
But one

Mark W said...

I'm also hearing about a lot of demonic activity since the churches around the world have closed. Satan isn't going to let this opportunity slip. Many cases of oppression are turning up in the media.

JMC said...

If you have blessed sacramentals around the house, that will protect you from this increased demonic activity. Even last year's palms will do; blessings don't "wear off," after all. Where churches are still open for private prayer, you can go in with a bottle and fill it with holy water from the font. And if you don't have CDs of Gregorian chant, there's plenty of it on YouTube; just play that. The devil absolutely abhors it. And if none of these things are available to you for whatever reason, there's always the Holy Rosary. No one and nothing can take that away from us.
.
If you have a Divine Mercy image, it's been recommended by at least two priests that I know of, that you hang it on your front door, facing outward. There's a promise that was made to St. Faustina that no evil will touch any place where the Divine Mercy is venerated. If you don't have one, find one online and print it.

@JMC - "And then you have apparitions like Garabandal, where none of the prophecies have yet come true over a century later. "
With this one you just shat your pants. Garabandal happened in the 1960s. The fact you dont realise this reveals a level of ignorance that is very, very special.
Get thee behind me.

The parallel between 'the signs in the sky'; Garabandal, the 'fire from heaven' 2 Kings 1:10, Sign of the son of Man Matthew 24:30 and the supernova/shoulder wound of Christ - Bernard of Clairvaux - cited by Bridget is uncanny.

If SandySingers account of Conchita being in garabandal is true then we all know where we are.

Some very good news in these trying times, from the evidence of the way the police set up an investigation with not a shred of a rumour or accusation even 4 years before an accuser came forward it's felt like Cardinsl Pell got picked by the gov't and media in Australia as the leading Catholic there to answer for the sins of all the guilty clergy, the trials turning into referendums on Catholicism in Australia generally.

But Australia's High Court, Cardinal Pell's last course of appeal (as well as the Crown's) has overruled the trial and lower courts that had upheld the conviction today, even calling the case a travesty. With anti-clericalism on the rise this is a significant victory.

Rhona - You haven't been around here much, have you?

Mark W said...

I probably shouldn't go here, but...

"How does anyone know what constitutes 'gregorian chant'?" Gregorian chant is a musical form usually reserved for church/Christian settings. It consists of a single vocal line on a limited musical scale. It hasn't got a rhythm in the modern sense, but uses structure to accomplish rhythm.

"...the devil abhors it' is crappy paranoid yank nonsense. How the F do YOU know what the devil abhors?
HOW do YOU know?" If you've read as widely as many of the regulars here, you'd understand that this kind of comment comes from the reading of reports of exorcists, as much as anything else.

"how does anyone know what they're singing." Lingua Latina - Lingua Ecclasiae est.

Or perhaps you'd prefer something more Byzantine:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0d4qM7gCH8

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXA3rw1Gilw

Da Pacem Domine is Psalm 121 (122 modern). The second one is Salve Regina (Hail Holy Queen).

Most of the options in Gregorian chant are prayers, psalms, parts of the Office or Mass, etc.

It's really not that complex if you take some time to learn about it.

JMC said...

Rhona, you are correct about my error in Garabandal. I had it mixed up in my mind with LaSalette. My bad. As for the rest, see Mark W's note above. And Latin is the second thing that the devil abhors; it's why exorcisms are always conducted in Latin.

Dear God.... I cannot make out whether you people are completely unhinged or just stupid.
The devil doesnt fear Latin he fears the prayer.

Mark W said...

Rhona,

I did say, "usually reserved". I had in mind the Dies Ire used at the end of one of the Matrix movies.

Gregorian chant stems from the Office. St. Benedict wrote the first monastic Rule, and that set out the pattern for daily prayer for monastics of the Benedictine order. In fact, I use that form today myself. It's been around for 1500 years. Pope St. Gregory the Great put the prayers of the Office to music, and so Gregorian chant was born. Therefore...

In normal circumstances chant actually IS prayer. Chant is the sung version of the office, or could be used in the Mass. The Psalms are a large part of this. All 150 Psalms are prayed during each week of the Office. These can easily be chanted, and often are even today. In most cases, chant is done in the universal language of Holy Mother Church - Lingua Ecclasiea nostrum est.

Can such a thing be twisted by modern man? Sure. Would Satan fear Simon & Garfunkel or the Matrix movies? More than likely the enemy would approve of twisting prayer into pop culture. But neither of these take away from the power of chant in its proper setting.

Let me ask you something: Have you ever read the text of the Rite of Exorcism? Since you don't appear to be particularly well read, I'll assume not. Much of an exorcism consists of the Psalms, in conjunction with other prayers. It's all done in Latin when properly done. Chant consists largely of the psalms and other prayers, done in Latin. Do you see the parallel?

I think I would adjust one thing JMC said just a wee bit. He said that the devil fears Latin. I haven't heard it often phrased quite like that. What I've heard is that Satan and the demons HATE Latin. This information comes from multiple priests and exorcists, a few of whom I've talked to myself.

Everything humanity does that's good can be twisted by the prince of this world. It's quite dangerous on your part to assume that chant loses its power because of Simon and Garfunkel. Be cautious making broad assumptions like that.

Now, I've tried to be polite, while you've clearly tried not to. Your base language also leads me to think that you've been flirting with the dark powers yourself; saints don't use foul language, demons do. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt - that you're not actually a troll (and we've had plenty here) - simply because you signed a name to your posts. Whether that name is real or imagined, most trolls don't do that. So maybe tone it down a bit, learn a thing or two, and try not to instruct those that have read extensively on this subject for many years.

May the peace of Christ be with you this Easter season,

Mark

"Whenever we want to ask some favor of a powerful man, we do it humbly and respectfully, for fear of presumption. How much more important, then, to lay our petitions before the Lord God of all things with the utmost humility and sincere devotion. We must know that God regards our purity of heart and tears of compunction, not our many words. Prayer should therefore be short and pure, unless perhaps it is prolonged under the inspiration of divine grace." Rule of St. Benedict, 20:1-4

So, if S&G writes a song which chant included, or if chant is included in a motion picture, does the songwriter or filmmaker intend any degree of purity of heart in the singing thereof? Not likely. So Paul Simon's use of chant is just words. But the intent of a monk (or anyone else with the proper heart and mind), is to use chant as prayer, glorifying God, hopefully with heart and mind set on the divine not the material. Do you see the difference?

Beautifully put, Mark. Did I say "fear" in connection with the devil's reaction to Latin? My bad. I DO know better. ;D Someone once pointed out to me that Latin symbolizes the unity of the Church. It's still in use in the Vatican; I read somewhere that even the ATMs in Vatican City have Latin as one of the language option on them. Given that Satan has been trying to destroy the unity of the Church since the very beginning, I think He deeply loathes Latin precisely because it symbolizes what he's trying to destroy.

Ominously, at 17:40 in this Video, Bill Gates implies that the Catholic Religion will remain outlawed until all can be certified to have received a vaccine, if even then!

He is talking about suspending the Mass for 18 months or forever!

Hey Bridget,

I saw this and thought of you:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0ZoKV5KK5s

It turns out, that the gravity waves weren't from Betelgeuse exactly, but from the immediate area. Makes me wonder what else is out there that we can't see. Also some interesting conjecture on Betelgeuse being a binary.

I don't think it rules out the possibility of Betelgeuse being extra important in an escatalogical way. There are such things as quantum gravity waves. If it were to turn out that there's a quantum link between here and Betelgeuse, that could get quite interesting. In such a case, we might have picked up the quantum gravity waves long before the light waves reach us. But, on the other side of that coin, quantum gravity is usually only talked about with black holes. So I thusly punch a hole in my own idea. C'est la vie.

Here is an article my Abbot recommended for reading from the National Catholic Register entitled, "Is the Coronavirus Pandemic a Judgment From God?"

COMMENTARY: The key to interpreting rightly the biblical passages on divine chastisement is to read them in light of the distinction between God’s positive will and his permissive will.

Thanks, Kevin. That was a nice surprise.

Hey Mark! Thanks for the link! That was cool to watch! Yeah, even though Betelgeuse now isn’t likely to explode, I still think its unprecedented dimming is still significant like I said before. On top of it maybe symbolizing the shoulder wound of Christ, I also wonder if there could be a connection to the prophecies of La Salette. In the beginning of the video you posted, the guy says the word Betelgeuse means “the arm of Orion” in different languages. Following the logic that Orion is a Christ type figure, I couldn’t help but think of Mary saying she is holding back the heavy “arm of my Son” in the secret of Ls Salette. Just another curious connection to add to the list.

Also, Emmett, since we’ve been discussing The Three Days of Darkness, have you thought about revisiting the Worthy Shepherd prophecy? Back when you wrote your post about The Three Days of Darkness, everything seemed to line up perfectly for the restoration starting in 2013! I’ll post an excerpt below. But that was now 7 years ago...how do you square the two now? 2013 - 2020. I still have my eye on what’s to come this summer with the planetary alignment on July 4th and the “closing of the abyss” you mentioned a whole back. So many things going on!

From Emmett’s old post back in 2013-

“If the Three Days of Darkness are to be interpreted as representing three decades of darkness - three decades which are to be calculated from before the appearance of the Morning Star announcing the arrival of the new dawn in the Great Jubilee Year 2000, then we could have an alternative date concerning the start of the Great Apostasy - the year 1970; which is just before the end of the Zeitoun apparitions (see the post Our Lady of Light and the Apocalyptic Nativity). And if we use the alternative figure for the duration of the abomination of desolation, which is given in Rev 11 as 42 "months" (which is the equivalent of the three and a half years), then the "gentiles" trampling upon the Holy City would last for a period of 42 years - after which a restoration would take place. So according to this interpretation, the "trampling" of the Holy City underfoot would only last until up to the year 2012, and the restoration would begin the year after, in 2013. So this interpretation could also be used to support the Worthy Shepherd Prophecy.”

I'm not really sure how all this will pan out Bridget. God is a God of surprises. It's really interesting that this year would turn out to be such a game changer though, on the cusp of yet another alignment of the seven classical planets. And that an event which so closely corresponds with the silence in heaven at the opening of the seventh seal would occur 120 years after the beginning of the period of Satan's unbinding - a period which is associated with the opening of the scroll sealed with seven seals and the "silent apparition" at Knock.

do you ever hear from Jamey Srdarov at all? I miss his input.

That whole thing about the alignment had slipped my mind. This could turn out to be a bit long, so bear with me. But this is quite interesting (at least, to me it's interesting).

There's a guy named Frank Hoogerbeets in the Netherlands. He's made some pretty remarkable earthquake predictions over the years, and he uses the alignment of planetary bodies to make the predictions.

Hoogerbeets says that the gravitational/tidal effects of a planetary alignment are too week to cause earthquakes or impact Earth in any significant way. However, he says that the electromagnetic impact of various alignments are a different story. His theory is that the electromagnetic impact is enough to impact the Earth sufficiently to cause earthquakes. Yes, Hoogerbeets is seen as something of a crackpot by the scientific community, but he still has a remarkable track record for a crackpot.

The basic idea is: Moving a magnet around a coil of wire will generate electricity, and moving planets around the solar system - in theory - generates electromagnetic waves in the same basic way. It's all a matter of scale.

That the planetary alignments impact Earth weather has long been established. An RCA engineer tested the theory in the 40s and 50s. He found that planetary alignments do change earth weather and atmosphere. And to that, I can give a personal example...

I'm an amateur radio operator (amongst other things). Being a HAM operator with transmission rights in the high frequency (HF) band, means that I watch the sun for clues as to when my radio transmissions will travel great distances. The key is sunspots. During the last solar maximum, I managed to contact a guy that was about 7000 miles away (north Texas to the southern tip of Patagonia) - on just 5 watts of power (far less than a light bulb's worth of power). The upper HF bands are most impacted by sunspots, so that's in the 10 meter, 12m, and 15m bands. When the sunspots faded toward solar minimum, all of those bands dried up. I haven't heard anything on 10m in over 2 years.

Now, go look at spaceweather.com

You'll see a blank solar disc. There are no sunspots. Yet, in spite of this, 10m is suddenly open. There are global reports of contacts being made on 10m, 12m, and 15m every morning and evening. (dxmaps.com, HF tab, 10m tab.) Yet the sun is devoid of spots. From the radio world, this is counter to what everyone expects.

It's entirely possible, as we approach July 4th, that the electromagnetic spectrum will open and long distance radio communication will open with it. Something is going on that's opened the bands during a solar minimum, and this doesn't happen often.

If an alignment can impact the weather, and thereby radio wave propagation, who's to say it can't impact the great lump of iron we're sitting on.

I've reached out to Frank Hoogerbeets via Twitter. I'll let you know what he says. But this summer could be quite interesting in a variety of ways. I'll probably be proven wrong again, but it's fun to speculate.

You're right, Mark; that is really interesting. It's worth reading a longer post. If something along the lines of an earthquake or other natural disaster happens, this is going to be a big help to SAR work.

I continue to find it remarkable the Emmett - a supposed student and scholar of Catholic Eschatology - entertains the drivel posted here.

Perhaps he doesn't realise that every post that attaches itself to his work, however tangentially, denudes him?

His adherence to the idea that Catholicism is 'niceness' is his error.
He confuses 'niceness' with 'Love' and in doing so allows every half-arsed delusion to append itself to his studies.

Luke 13:26-29

"26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’

27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’

28 “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.

29 People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God."

Have you read Emmett's book Rhona. It is very speculative and original, it's probably why it was such an interesting and refreshing read. It also takes into account the apparitions of Mary and other Catholic prophecy, also again why it is so original and interesting as opposed to so much literature about the times of the end.

I wonder Emmett if you have read the linking of Corona with 666. I know this number seems to get attached to everything, but it still seems remarkable that the word has 6 numbers and the letter values add up to 66.

What seems most interesting to me is that a plague like Corona has many similarities to a fire, both being immensely destructive, and seems to link up to the other great name associated with 666 being Nero Caesar

Fire to cause great destruction was used by Nero to destroy Rome and open room up for his architectural visions the destruction being used as an excuse to blame and then persecute Christians.

Is this a foreshadowing of what is about to befall Christianity.

The Corona virus could be a fire released to create destruction which will ultimately be blamed on Christian countries. Could this Corona Virus be a prelude to the Christian persecution which you have written about and believe will eventually befall the Catholic Church.

It has always been hard to see where such persecution would come from in the west, but communist countries have a deadly record of persecuting Christians.

For myself and many one question about the recent history of the west is why we are going to so much trouble to support large corporations by printing money and lowering interest rates. I believe I now understand why the west is so desperate to stop companies failing, it is because China will buy them if they fail. The airlines and telecommunications will not disappear they will simply become Chinese owned.

The Chinese dragon's influence may grow enormously over the next few years and perhaps this will instigate the persecution of Christians more broadly in the world.

Certainly China has enormous influence and support now, not only from atheistic communist types but because of outright greed great sections of the business community.

Another good article to read as a reminder about perception and even to help us realize how we may be internalizing the commands of our oppressors:

Heres a question - have there been 3 days darker than this in Church history; Easter without mass?

Dear Emmet,
Looking back 3 years at world events not immediately known at the time of "The great sign which appeared in the heavens" over Jerusalem at twilight on 23 September 2017, --Do you recognise anything occurring on that date we now know, which accords with the general tenor of your book? (which I have just finished reading--thanks for writing it)

The Jesuit astronomers at Mt Graham Arizona Observatory dismissed any prophetic element in it without acknowledging that the "9+ months lingering of Jupiter (the "king" planet) in the area of the womb of the constellation Virgo" has not been repeated since the time of the Birth of Christ. Interestingly, on their website they "disallowed" any comments on the topic.

However the astronomy programme "Stellarum" shows this as you can push the star maps to back to dates for 7000 years. The computer programme Stellarum, I read, was only developed for astronomers about 10 years before "the great sign" in 2017. It wasn't the sort of sign that was obvious to everyone, only "wise men" / Christian astronomers who were alert to such things.

What's your take, if any, on it?

What I personally gained from reading about it was, --as with looking at a map sign,--
"you are here: Rev. 12: 1-2."
In case there was any doubt.

Thank you for being one of the only resources I've come across that notes the significance of a major solar event during the Centennial of the Fatima apparitions. What I've never seen anywhere is the recognition of something even more significant, which I calculated myself due to intense interest in the topic- the solar eclipse, which occurred August 21, 2017, occurred exactly 100 days after May 13, 2017. 100 days within the 100th anniversary. It could not be coincidence. More than that, the 2017 eclipse I believe was the first one to cross the continental US in 100 years. Also, the next total solar eclipse scheduled for North America, will complete a criss-cross pattern with the 2017 solar eclipse trajectory, with it's cross point near the center of the United States (actually, near the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal). This total solar eclipse will happen 7 years after 2017, in April of 2024, 7, being the number signifying perfection according to Christianity. I cannot dismiss the significance of these numbers, yet I cannot say what they mean. All I know is that when I first pondered them, the pandemic was not here...and here it is, occupying the time between the last eclipse and the next.
